saṃjñāśāstrasya tu kāryakālapakṣe na pṛthakvākyārthabodhaḥ, kintu pradeśavākyena sahaiva/ ata evāṇo 'pragṛhyasyetyetadekavākyatāpannādasomādityetatprati na mutvādyasiddham, asiddhatvasya kāryārthatayā kāryajñānottarameva tatpravṛttiḥ, kāryajñānaṃ ca pradeśa eveti taddeśasthāsiddhatvātpūrvagrahaṇenāgrahāt/ evaṃ tadbodhottarameva virodhapratisandhānañceti tatratyaparatvena vipratiṣedhasūtrapravṛttau bījam/ ata eva kāryakālapakṣe"ayādibhyaḥ paraiva pragṛhya saṃjñā"iti 'adasomāt' iti sūtre bhāṣya uktam//

anekavidhamusthānaguṇapramāṇakṛtam/ atra mānam 'ṣaṣṭī sthāne' ityata ekadeśānuvṛtyā sthāne grahaṇe 'nuvartamāne punaḥ 'sthānentaratamaḥ' iti sūtre sthāne grahaṇameva/ taddhi tṛtīyayā vipariṇamya vākyabhedena sthāninaḥ prasaṅge jāyamānaḥ sati sambhave sthānata evāntaratama ityarthakam/ tamabgrahaṇamevānekavidhāntarya sattāgamakam/ sthānataḥusthānenetyarthaḥ/ tatra sthānata āntaryam 'iko yaṇaci'
ityādau prasiddhameva/ arthataḥ 'paddanno' ityādau sthānyarthābhidhāna samarthasyaivā'deśateti siddhāntādyadarthābhidhānasamartho yaḥ, sa tasyādeśa iti tatsamānārthatatsamānavarṇapadādīnāṃ te, tṛjvatkroṣṭuriti ca/ guṇato 'vāgghariḥ' ityādau/ pramāṇataḥ 'adaso 'seḥ' ityādau/ 'sthāne 'ntaratamaḥ' sūtre bhāṣye spaṣṭaiṣā//
nanu 'proḍhavān' ityatra 'prādūhoḍheti' vṛddhiḥ syādata āha-
arthavadgrahaṇe nānarthakasya // Paribh_13 //
viśiṣṭarūpopādāne/ upasthitārthasya śabdaṃ prati viśeṣaṇatayānvayasambhave tyāge mānābhāvo 'syā mūlam/ atrārthaḥ kalpitānvayavyatirekakalpitaḥ śāstrīyo 'pi gṛhyate iti 'saṅkhyāyāḥ' iti sūtre bhāṣye spaṣṭam/ iyaṃ varṇa grahaṇeṣu neti 'lasya' ityatra bhāṣye spaṣṭam/ ata eva eṣā viśiṣṭarūpopādāna viṣayeti-vṛddhāḥ/ etanmūlakameva 'yena vidhiḥ' ityatra bhāṣye paṭhyate 'alaivānarthakena tadantavidhiḥ' iti/ kiñca 'svaṃ rūpam' iti śāstre svaśabdenā'tmīyavācinār'tho gṛhyate, rūpa śabdena svarūpam, evañca tadubhayaṃ śabdasya saṃjñīti tadarthaḥ/ tatrārtho na viśeṣyastatra śastrīyopakāryāsambhavāt, kintu śabdaviśeṣaṇam/ evañcārthaviśiṣṭaḥ śabdaḥ saṃjñīti phalitam/ tenaiṣā paribhāṣā siddheti bhāṣye spaṣṭam//
nanvevamapi 'mahadbhataścandramāḥ' ityatra 'ānmahataḥ' ityātvāpattirata āha-
gauṇamukhyayormukhye kārya sampratyayaḥ // Paribh_14 //
guṇādāgato gauṇaḥ/ yathā-gośabdasya jāḍyādiguṇanimittor'tho vāhīkaḥ/ aprasiddhaśca saṃjñādirapi tadguṇāropādeva buddhyate/ mukhamiva pradhānatvāt mukhyaḥuprathama ityarthaḥ/ gauṇe hyarthe śabdaḥ prayujyamāno mukhārthāropeṇa pravarthate/ evaṃ cāprasiddhatvaṃ gauṇalākṣaṇikatvaṃ cātra gauṇatvam/ tena 'priyatrayāṇām' ityādau trayādeśo bhavatyeva, tatra triśabdārthasyetaraviśeṣaṇatve 'pyuktagauṇatvābhāvāt/ kiñcāyaṃ nyāyo na prātipadikakārye, kintūpāttaṃ viśiṣyārthopasthāpakaṃ viśiṣṭarūpaṃ yatra tādṛśapadakārya eva/ pariniṣṭitasya padāntarasambandhe hi 'gaurvāhīkaḥ' ityādau gauṇatvapratītirnatu prātipadikasamskāravelāyāmityantaraṅgatvājjātasaṃskārabādhāyogaḥ prātipadikakārye pravṛtyabhāve bījam/ śvaśurasadṛśasyāpatyamityarthake 'śvāśuriḥ' ityādāvata iñaḥ siddhaye - upāttamityādi/ na ca prātipatikapadaṃ tādṛśamiti vācyam, tena hi prātipadikapadavatvenopasthitiriti tasya viśiṣyārthopasthāpakatvābhāvāt/ nipātapadaṃ tu cāditvenaiva cādīnāmupasthāpakamiti taduddeśyakakāryanidhāyake 'ot' ityādāvetatpravṛt 'gobhavattyā' ityādau doṣo na/ 'agnīṣomau māṇavakau' ityatra prasiddhadevatādvandvavācyagnīṣomapadasya tatsadṛśaparatve 'pyantaraṅgatvādītvaṣatve bhavata eva/ sadṛśalākṣaṇikāgnisomapadayordvandve tannāmakāvityarthake ca netvaṣatve, ādye gauṇalākṣaṇikatvāt, antye 'prasiddhatvāt/ ata eva 'agnisomau māṇavako' ityatra gauṇamukhyanyāyena śatvavāraṇaparam,"agneḥ stutstomasomāḥ"iti sūtrasthaṃ bhāṣyaṃ saṅgacchate/ 'gāṃ pāṭhaya' ityādau mukhya gopadārthasya pāṭhanakarmatvāsambhavena nibhaktyutpattivelāyāṃ prayoktṛbhirgauṇārthatvasya pratītāvapyapadasyāprayogeṇa boddhṛbhiḥ sarvatra padasyaiva gauṇārthakatvasya graheṇa 'atvaṃ tvaṃ sampadyate, 'amahān mahānbhūtaḥ, 'tvadbhavatiṭha ityādi bhāśyaprayoge tvādyādeśadīrgādīnāṃ karaṇena cāsya nyāyasya padakāryaviṣayatvamevocitam/ anyathā vākyasaṃskāra pakṣe teṣu tadanāpattiḥ/ kiñca"śuklām' ityukte karma nirdiṣṭam kartā kriyācānirdiṣṭe"ityādyuktyā 'ihedānīṃ gāmabhyāja kṛṣṇāṃ devadattetyādau sarvaṃ nirdiṣṭam, gāmeva karma, devadatta eva karttā, abhyājaiva kriyā' ityarthakenārthavatsūtrasthabhāṣyeṇa kārakādimātraprayoge yogyasarvakriyādhyahāre prasakte niyamārthaḥ kriyāvācakādiprayoga ityetattātparyakeṇa sāmānyataḥ kriyājanyaphalāśrayatvamātravivakṣāyāṃ dvitīyādīnāṃ sādhutvānvākhyānamityarthalābhena pāṭhanakriyānvayakāle padasyaiva gauṇarthatvapratītiḥ prayokturapi/ etanmūlakaḥ"abhivyaktapadārthāḥ ye' iti ślokopi padakāryaviṣayakaḥ/ dhvanitaṃ cedam 'sarvādīni' iti sūtre saṃjñābhūtānāṃ pratiṣedhamārabhatā vārttikakṛtā,"pūrvaparā"iti sūtre 'asaṃjñāyām' iti vadatā sūtrakṛtā, anvarthasaṃjñayā tatpratyākhyānaṃ kurvatā bhāṣyakṛtā ca/ arthāśraya etadevaṃ bhavati, śabdāśraye ca vṛddhyātve-iti 'ot' sūtrastha bhāṣyasya laukikārthavatvayogyapadāśraya
eṣa nyāyaḥ, tadrahitaśabdāśraye ca te ityarthaḥ/ 'gotaḥ' iti yathāśrutasūtre viśiṣṭarūpopādānasatvenoktarītyaivatasya bhāṣyasya vyākhyeyatvādityalam//
arthavadgrahaṇe-ityasyāpavādamāha :-
aninasmingrahaṇānyarthavatā cānarthakena ca tadantavidhiṃ prayojayanti // Paribh_15 //
'yena vidhiḥ' ityatra bhāṣye vacana rūpeṇa paṭhitaiṣā/ tena 'rājñā' 'sāmnā' ityādvallopaḥ, 'daṇḍī' 'vāgmī' ityādau 'inhan' iti niyamaḥ, 'supayāḥ' 'susrotāḥ' ityādau 'atvasantasya' iti dīrgaḥ, 'suśarmā' 'suprathimā' ityādau 'manaḥ' iti ṅībniṣedhaśca siddhaḥ/ anye tu 'parivīviṣīdhvam' ityatra ḍhatvavyāvṛttaye kriyamāṇāt 'iṇaḥ ṣīdhvam' ityatrāṅgagrahaṇādarthavatparibhāṣānityā, tanmūlakamidamityāhuḥ/ 'vibhāṣeṭaḥ' ityatrānarthakasyaiva ṣīdhvamaḥ sambhavādatrāpi tasyaiva grahaṇamiti bhramavāraṇāya 'aṅgāt' iti pare//
nanu 'uśca' ityatra 'liṅsicau' ityataḥ 'ātmanepadeṣu' ityeva sambadhyeta, anantaratvādata āha :-
ekayoganirdiṣṭānāṃ saha vā pravṛttiḥ saha vā nivṛttiḥ // Paribh_16 //
vā-śabda evārthe/ parasparānvitārthakapadānām-sahaivānuvṛttinivṛttī ityarthaḥ/ ekakārya niyuktānāṃ bahūnāṃ loke tathaiva darśanāditi bhāvaḥ/ yattu-atra jñāpakam 'neḍvaśi' ityata iḍityanuvartamāne 'ārdhadhātukasyeḍ' ityatra punariḍgrahaṇam/ taddhi netyasyāsambamdhārthamiti/ tanna ; 'dīdhīvevīṭām' iti sūtre bhāṣye tatratyeḍgrahaṇapratyākhyānāyeḍ grahaṇe 'nuvartamāne punariḍgrahaṇasyeṭo guṇarūpavikārārthakatvasyoktatvena tadvirodhāt/ naño nivṛttistu 'kvacidekadeśo 'pi anuvartate' iti nyāyena siddhā/ vastu tastu 'dīdhīvevīṭām' iti sūtrastha bhāṣyamekadeśyuktiḥ, 'ārdhadhātukasya' iti sūtrastheḍgrahaṇasya 'neḍvaśi' iti sūtre bhāṣye pratyākhyānāt, tatkaraṇena gurutarayatnamāśrityaitatpratyākhyānasyāyuktatvāt//
nanu-alugadhikraḥ prāganaṅaḥ, uttarapadādhikāraḥ prāgaṅgādhikārādityanupapannam, ekayoganirdiṣṭatvāt/ tathā 'dāmahāyanāntācca' ityādau 'saṅkhyāvyayādeḥ' ityataḥ saṅkhyāderityanuvartate 'vyayāderiti nivṛttamiti cānupapannamata āha-
ekayoganirdiṣṭānāmedeśo 'pyanuvartate // Paribh_17 //
ekārthe yogaḥusambandhastena nirdiṣṭayoḥ samudāyābhidhāyidvandvanirdiṣṭayorityartha iti 'pakṣāttiḥ' iti sūtre kaiyaṭaḥ/ tāvanmātrāṃṣe svaritatvapratijñābalāllabhyamidam/ spaṣṭā ceyam 'dāmahāyanāntācca' iti sūtre 'auto 'mśasoḥ' iti sūtre ca bhāṣye pūrvā ca//
nanu 'tyadādīnāmaḥ' itiyādinā 'imam' ityādāvanunāsikaḥ syādata āha-
bhāvyamānena savarṇānāṃ grahaṇaṃ na // Paribh_18 //
aṇuditsūtre 'apratyayaḥ' ityanena sāmartyātsūtraprāptam, jātipakṣeṇaprāptam,guṇābhedakatvenaca prāptam, netyarthaḥ/ ata evāṇuditsūtre pratyayā'deśā'gameṣu savarṇagrahaṇābhāvaṃ prakārāntareṇoktvā, 'evaṃ tarhi siddhe yadapratyaya iti pratiṣedhaṃ śāsti, tajjñāpayati bhavatyeṣāparibhāṣā 'bhāvyamānena savarṇānāṃ grahaṇaṃ na' iti/ kiñca, 'jyāda īyasaḥ' ityevāntaryato dīrghe siddhe 'jyādāt' iti dīrgoccāraṇamasyā jñāpakam/ aṇuditsūtre 'jyādāt' iti sūtre ca bhāṣye spaṣṭaiṣā/ 'coḥ kuḥ' ityādau bhāvyamānenāpi savarṇagrahaṇam, vidheye udiduccāraṇasāmarthyāt/ etadevābhipretya 'bhāvyamānāṇ savarṇānna gṛṇhāti' iti navyāḥ paṭhanti//
nanvevam 'adaso 'seḥ' ityādinā 'amū' ityādau dīrgavidhānaṃ na syādata āha :-
bhāvyamāno 'pyukāraḥ savarṇān gṛṇahāti // Paribh_19 //
'diva ut' 'ṛta ut' iti taparakaraṇamasyā jñapakam/ 'titsvaritam' iti sūtre bhāṣye spaṣṭaiṣā//
nanu 'gave hitaṃ gohitam' ityādau pratyayalakṣaṇenāvādyādeśāpattirata āha :-
varṇāśraye nāsti pratyayalakṣaṇam// Paribh_20//
varṇaprādhānyaviṣayametat/ tatvaṃ ca 'pratyayalope' iti sūtre sthānivadityanuvṛtyaiva siddhe pratyayalakṣaṇagrahaṇaṃ pratyayetarāviśeṣaṇatvarūpaṃ yatra prādhānyaṃ tatraiva pravṛtyarthametatsiddham/ varṇaparādhānyaṃ ca varṇasyetarāviśeṣaṇatvarūpaṃ pratyayanirūpitaniśeṣyatārūpaṃ ca/ tena 'gohitam' ityādau avādi na, 'citrāyāṃ jātā citrā' ityādāvaṇyo 'kārastadantān ṅīp ca na/ iyamalvidhau sthānivatvāprāptāvapi prāptapratyayalakṣaṇavidherniṣedhiketi spaṣṭaṃ bhāṣye//
nanu 'ataḥ kṛkami' ityatra kami grahaṇe siddhe, kaṃsagrahaṇaṃ vyartham, ata āha :-
uṇādayo 'vyutpannāni prātipadikāni// Paribh_21//
idamevāsyā jñāpakamiti kaiyaṭādayaḥ/ kaṃsestu na, kaṃso 'nabhidhānāt/"pratyayasya luk"ityādau bhāṣye spaṣṭā/"ṇvultṛcau"ityādau bhāṣye vyutpannānītyapi/ idaṃ śākaṭāyanarītyā/ pāṇinestvavyutpattipakṣa eveti śabdendu śekhare nirūpitam/"āyaneyī"iti sūtre bhāṣye spuṭametat//
nanu 'devadattaccikīrṣati' ityādau devādeḥ sannantatvaprayuktadhātutvādyāpattirata āha :-
pratyayagrahaṇe yasmātsa vihitastadādestadantasya grahaṇam// Paribh_22 //
"yasmātpratyayavidhiḥ"iti sūtre yasmātpratyayavidhistadādipratyaya iti yogo vibhajyate/ gṛhyamāṇa upatiṣṭata iti śeṣaḥ/ tena tadādyantāṃśaḥ siddhaḥ/ tadantāṃśastu"yenavidhiḥ"ityanena siddhaḥ/ sa ca śabdarūpaṃ viśeṣyamādāya viśeṣyāntarāsatve/ yattu pratyayena svaprakṛtyavayavakasamudāyākṣepāt tadviśeṣaṇatvena tadantavidhiriti/ tat, na ; 'iyān' ityādau tasya tādṛśasamudāyena vyabhicāreṇākṣepasambhavāt/ yatra pratyayo nimittatvenāśrīyate, tatra tadādītyantāṃśamātropasathitiriti"aṅgasya"iti sūtre bhāṣyakaiyaṭayoḥ//
evaṃ yatrāpi pañcamyantātparaḥ pratyaya ātrīyate, ratrāpi tadādītyantāṃśopasthitiḥ, parantu tatra pañcamyantatā/ ata eva"eṅhrasvāt"iti sūtre eṅantādityarthalābhaḥ/ asyāḥ paribhāṣāyāḥ prayojanāntaram, 'yenavidhiḥ' ityatra, bhāṣya uktam, 'paramagārgyāyaṇaḥ' iti/ paramagārgyāyaṇasyāpatyamiti vigrahe 'pi gārgyāyaṇaśabdādeva pratyayaḥ, na viśiṣṭāt/ niṣkṛṣya tāvanmātreṇaikārthībhāvābhāve 'pi vṛttirbhavatyeva/ atra cedaṃ bhāṣyameva mānamityanyatra vistaraḥ/ pratyayamātragrahaṇe eṣā, na tu, pratyayāpratyayagrahaṇa iti"ugitaśca"iti sūtre bhāṣye/ iyamaṅgasaṃjñā sūtre bhāṣye spaṣṭā//
yena vidhiriti sūtre bhāṣya etadghaṭakatadantāṃśasyāpavādaḥ paṭhyate :-
pratyayagrahaṇe cāpañcamyāḥ // Paribh_23 //
yatra pañcamyantātparaḥ pratyayaḥ kāryāntaravidhānāya parigṛhyate, tatra tadantavidhirnetyarthaḥ/ yathā"radābhyāṃ niṣṭātonaḥ"ityatra/ tena dṛṣattīrṇetyādau dhātutakārasya na natvam/ tadantetyaṃśānupasthitāvapi tadādītyaṃśasyopasthitau repha-dāntātparasya niṣṭātasyetyartha iti na doṣaḥ, tadaṃśānupasthitau mānābhāvāt/ tadantāṃśopasthitau tūbhayorekaniṣayatvameva syāditi 'dṛṣattīrṇaḥ' ityādau doṣaḥ syādeva/"syatāsī ḷluṭoḥ"ityādau ḷluṭoḥ parayorityarthe niyamenāvadhisākāṅkṣatvenopasthitadhātorityasyāvadhitvena anvayānna tadantavijhiḥ/ 'ṅyābhyaḥ' ityādau tu na doṣaḥ, tatra kasmāditi niyatāvadhyākāṅkṣāyā abhāvena pañcamyantasya pratyayaviśeṣaṇatvābhāvāt/ aṅga saṃjñā sūtre tu tadādeḥ pratyaye para ityarthe pañcamyantasya viśeṣaṇatvaṃ spaṣṭameva/ ata eva"uttamaikābhyām" ityādi nirdeśāḥ saṅgacchante//
nanvevam 'kumārī brāmhaṇīrūpā' ityādau 'gharūpa' iti hrasvāpattirata āha:-
uttarapadādhikāre pratyayagrahaṇe na tadantagrahaṇam // Paribh_24 //
"hṛdayasya hṛllekhayaṇlādeśeṣu"ityatra lekhagrahaṇāt/ tatra lekheti na ghañantam, anabhighānāt/ iyaṃ ca 'hṛdayasya' iti sūtra eva bhāṣye spaṣṭā//
nanvevam 'paramakārīṣagandhīputraḥ' ityatreva 'atikārīṣagandhyāputraḥ' ityatra"ṣyaṅaḥ samprasāraṇaṃ putrapatyoḥ"
iti syādata āha:-
strīpratyaye cānupasarjane na // Paribh_25 //
viṣayasaptamīyam/ yaḥ strīpratyayaḥ striyaṃ prādhānyenā'ha tatra tadādiniyamo na, yastvaprādhānyenā'ha tatra tadādiniyamo 'styevetyarthaḥ/ pratyāsatyā yasya samudāyastrīpratyayāntatvamāneyaṃ tadarthaṃ pratyanupasarjanatvamevaitatparibhāṣāpravṛttau nimittam/ tena 'atirājakumāriḥ' ityādau rājakumārīśabdārthasyātiśabdārthaṃ pratyupasarjanatve 'pi tadarthaṃ pratyanupasarjanatvāt tadādāniyamābhāvena hrasva siddhiḥ/ ata evātra paribhāṣāyāṃ na śāstrīyamupasarjanatvam, asambhavāt/ asyāḥ 'pratyayagrahaṇe' ityasyāpavādatvāt tadekavākyatvāpannatvāccātrāpi grahaṇapada sambandhena strīpratyayasāmānyagrahaṇe tadviśeṣagrahaṇe ca pravṛttiḥ, na tu strīpratyayāstrīpratyayagrahaṇe/ dhvanitañcedam 'arthavat' sūtre bhāṣye/ iyaṃ ca vācanikyeva/ 'ṣyaṅaḥ' iti sūtre bhāṣye spaṣṭā//
nanvevam"taraptamapau ghaḥ"ityādinā tarabantādeḥ saṃjñā syādata āha:-
saṃjñāvidhau pratyayagrahaṇe tadantagrahaṇaṃ nāsti // Paribh_26 //
"sūptiṅantam"ityantagrahaṇamasyāṃ jñāpakam/ na ca pratyayayoḥ padasaṃjñāyāmapi pratyayagrahaṇaparibhāṣayā tadantagrahaṇābhāvāt jñāpite 'pi phalābhāva iti vācyam, padasaṃjñāyāḥ 'svādiṣu' iti viṣaye prakṛti niṣṭatayā padagrahaṇasya pratyayamātragrahaṇatvābhāvāt/"suptiṅantam"iti sūtre bhāṣye spaṣṭā //
nanu 'avatapte nakulasthitam' ityādau nakulasthita śabdasya ktāntatvābhāvāt samāso na syādata āha:-
kṛdgrahaṇe gatikārakapūrvasyāpi grahaṇam// Paribh_27 //
asyāśca karmaṇi ktānta uttarapade 'nantaro gatiḥ prakṛtisvara ityarthake 'gatiranantaraḥ' iti sūtre anantara grahaṇaṃ jñāpakam/ taddhi 'abhyuddhṛtam' ityādāvativyāpti vāraṇārtham/ 'pratyayagrahaṇa' paribhāṣayoddhṛtasya ktāntatvābhāvādeva aprāptau tadvyarthaṃ sadasyā jñāpakam/ na ca 'abhyuddhṛtam' ityādau paratvāt 'gatirgatau' ityanenābhernighāta eveti vācyam, pādādisthatvena, padātparatvābhāvena ca tadaprāpteḥ/ anantaragrahaṇe kṛtetu tatsāmartyād gatyākṣiptadhātunirūpitamevenantaryaṃ gṛhyata iti na doṣaḥ/ na ca 'abhyuddhṛtam' ityādāvabhinā samāse 'nantarasyodaḥ pūrvapadatvābhāve 'pi svarārthaṃ taditi vācyam/ 'kārakād datta' iti sūtre 'kārakāt' iti yogaṃ vibhajya tatra gati grahaṇamanuvartya kārakādeva paraṃ gatipūrvapadaṃ ktāntamantodāttamiti niyamena thāthādisvarāprāptyā kṛtsvareṇoda udāttatvasiddheḥ/ tasmādanantaragrahaṇaṃ vyavahitanivṛtyarthameveti jñāpakameva/ yatra gatikārakasamabhivyāhṛtaṃ kṛdantaṃ tatra kṛdgrahaṇe tadviśiṣṭasyaiva grahaṇam/ 'api' śabdāt tadasamabhivyāhṛtasya kevalasyāpīti tadarthaḥ/ anyathānayā kṛdgrahaṇaviṣaye paratvāt 'pratyayagrahaṇa' paribhāṣāyā bādha eva syādityapi grahaṇam/ ata eva 'sāṅkūṭinam' iti 'gatikārakopapadānām' iti 'kṛdgrahaṇa' iti ca paribhāṣābhyāṃ kṛdantena samāse kṛte viśiṣṭādevāṇi siddhyati, na tu 'saṅkauṭinam' iti 'puṃyogāt' iti sūtre bhāṣyoktaṃ saṅgacchate anyathā tatra kevalakūṭinnityetasyāpīnuṇantatvāttato 'ṇi pākṣikadoṣo durvāra eva syāt/ spaṣṭaṃ cedaṃ sarvam"samāse 'nañpūrve"iti sūtre bhāṣyakaiyaṭayoḥ/ 'gatiranantaraḥ' ityatra tu gateḥ pūrvapadasya ktānta uttarapade pare kāryavidhānāttatsamavadhāne 'pi kevalasya ktāntatvena grahaṇaṃ bodhyam/ iyaṃ ca kṛdviśeṣagrahaṇe kṛtsāmānyagrahaṇe ca, na tu kṛdakṛdgrahaṇa iti/ 'anupasarjanāt' iti sūtre bhāṣye spaṣṭam//

padamaṅgaṃ ca viśeṣyaṃ viśeṣaṇena ca tadanta vidhiḥ/ tena 'iṣṭakacitam, pakveṣṭakacitam' ityādau "iṣṭakeṣīkāmālānāṃ cita"iti hrasvaḥ, 'mahān, paramamahān, paramātimahān' ityādau"sāntamahataḥ"iti dīrgaśca siddhaḥ/ ata eva 'taduttarapadasya' iti pāṭho 'yukta iti bhāṣye spaṣṭam/ atra padaśabdenottarapadādhikāraḥ, kevalapadādhikāraśca/ "pādasya padājyāti"ityatra na tadantagrahaṇam, lakṣyānurodhāditi sarvam,"yena vidhiḥ"ityatra bhāṣye spaṣṭam//
nanvevam 'asyāpatyamiḥ' ityādāvadantaprātipadikābhāvādiñ na syāt, ata āha :-

nanu gargādibhyo vihita yañ tadanta vidhinā paramagargādibhyo 'pi syāt, ata āha:-

iti paṭhyate/ yatra tvekasyaiva kāryasya paratvaṃ nityatvaṃ ca, tatrecchayānyatarattadubhayaṃ vā tasya balavatve niyāmakamullekhyam/ ata eva tatra paratvānnityatvācceti bhāṣye ucyate/ vastutastatra paratvādityuktirekadeśinaḥ/ spaṣṭaṃ cedaṃ vipratiṣedha sūtre kaiyaṭe/"ṇaucaṅi"iti hrasvāpekṣayā nityatvāntaraṅgatvaprayuktadvitvasya prathamataḥ pravṛttau nityatvādityeva bhāṣya uktam/ evaṃ nityāntaraṅgayorbalavatvamapi yaugapadyāsambhava eveti bodyam//

antaḥumadhye, bahiraṅga śāstrīya nimittasamudāyamadhye, antarbhūtānyaṅgāni nimittāni yasya tadantaraṅgam/ evaṃ tadīyanimittasamudāyād bahirbhatāṅgakaṃ bahiraṅgam/ etacca"kharavasānoḥ"iti sūtre"asiddhavat sūtre ca bhāṣyakaiyaṭayoḥ spaṣṭam/ atrāṅga śabdena śabdarūpaṃ nimittameva gṛhyate, śabdaśāstre tasyaiva pradhānatvāt/ tena arthanimittakasya na bahiraṅgatvam/ ata eva"na tisṛcatasṛ"iti niṣedhaścaritārthaḥ/ anyathā strītvarūpārthanimittakatisrāpekṣayāntaraṅgatvāt trayādeśe tadasaṅgatiḥ spaṣṭaiva/
ata eva 'trayādeśe srantasya pratiṣedhaḥ' iti"sthānivat"sūtrastha bhāṣyavārtikādi saṅgacchate/ etena 'gaudheraḥ, 'paceran' ityādāveyādīnāmaṅgasaṃjñāsāpekṣatvena bahiraṅgatayāsiddhatvād valilopo na syāditi parāstam/ eyādeśāderaparanimittakatvenāntaraṅgatvācca/ nanu"yenavidhistadantasya"iti sūtre bhāṣye"ikoyaṇaci"ityādāvapi tadantavidhau 'syonaḥ' ityatra antaraṅgatvād yaṇo guṇabādhakatvamiṣyate, tanna sidhyet, ūnaśabdamāśritya yaṇādeśaḥ, na śabdhamāśritya guṇa ityantaraṅgatvād guṇa eva syādityuktam/ atra kaiyaṭaḥ/ siverbāhulakādauṇādike na pratyaye guṇavalopoṭhāṃ prasaṅge ūṭhapavādatvād valopaṃ bādhate, guṇaṃ tvantaraṅgatvād bādhate/ guṇohyaṅgasambandhinīmiglakṣaṇāṃ laghvīmupadhāmārdhadhātukaṃ cāśrayati/ ūṭh tu vakārāntamaṅgamanunāsikādiñca pratyayamityalpāpekṣatvādantaraṅgaḥ/ tatra kṛte yaṇ guṇau prapnuta iti/ evañca saṃjñāpekṣasyāpi bahiraṅgatvaṃ spaṣṭamevoktamiticet, na ; tadantavidhāvapi bahupadārthāpekṣatvarūpa bahiraṅgatvasya guṇe satvena tatra doṣakathanaparabhāṣyāsaṅgateḥ/ bahiraṅgantaraṅgaśabdābhyāṃ bahvapekṣatvālpāpekṣatvayoḥ śabdamaryādayālābhācca/ tathā satyasiddhaṃ bahvapekṣamalpāpekṣa ityeva vadet/ ata eva vipratiṣedhasūtrabhāṣye 'guṇādyaṇādeśo 'ntaraṅgatvāt' ityasya 'syonaḥ' ityudāharaṇam, na tu guṇādūṭh antaraṅgatvādityuktam/ tvadrītyā tadapi vaktumucitam/ prathamyāt tadeva vā vaktumucitam/ mama tvantaraṅgaparibhāṣayā tadvāraṇāsambhavt tannoktam/ kiñca siddhānte nityatvād guṇātpūrvamūṭh, guṇastu yaṇā bādhitatvādanityaḥ/ ūnaśabdamāśrityetyādi bhāṣyāsaṅgatyā cintyam/ vali lope 'ntaraṅgaparibhāṣā na pravartata iti tu na yuktam/ tatsūtre bhāṣya eva vraścādiṣu lopātiprasaṅgamāśaṅkyopadeśasāmarthyānna/ naca 'vṛścati' ityādau cāritārthayam, bahiraṅgatayā samprasāraṇasyāsiddhatvena pūrvameva tatprāpteriti bhāṣyokteḥ/ yattu nalopasya ṣaṭsaṃjñāyāmasiddhatvāt 'pañca' ityatra"na ṣaṭ"iti niṣedha iti, taccincyam/ na lopasyahi padasaṃjñāsāpekṣatvena bahiraṅgatvaṃ vācyam, tacca, na ; saṃjñākṛta bahiraṅgatvasyānāśrayaṇāt/ 'pañca' ityatra niṣedhastu striyāṃ yatprāpnoti, tanneti vyākhyānasāmarthyena bhūtapūrvaṣaṭtvamādāyeti bhodhyam/ ata eva kṛtitugrahaṇaṃ caritārtham/ 'vṛtrahabhyām' ityādau padatvanimittakatve 'pi nalopasya bahiraṅgatvābhāvāt/ bhyāmaḥ padasaṃjñānimittatve 'pi nalopasya tannimittakatvābhāvāt/ paramparayā nimittatvamādāya bahiraṅgatvāśrayaṇaṃ tu na mānam/ dhvanitaṃ cedam"nalopaḥ sup"itisūtre bhāṣya iti, tatraiva bhāṣyapradīpodyote nirūpitam/ antaraṅge kartavye jātaṃ tatkālaprāptikaṃ ca bahiraṅgamasiddhamityarthaḥ/ vraścādiṣu padasaṃskāra pakṣe samānakālatvameva dvayoriti bodhyam/ etena 'antaraṅgaṃ bahiraṅgād balīyaḥ' iti paribhāṣāntaramityapāstam/ enāmāśritya 'vipratiṣedha' sūtre bhāṣye tasyāḥ pratyākhyānācca/ antaraṅga śāstratvamasyāliṅgam/ iye ca tripādyāṃ na pravartate, tripādyā asiddhatvāt/ asyāñca"vāha ūṭh"sūtrasthamūṭh grahaṇaṃ jñāpakamityeṣā sapādasaptādyāyīsthā/ anyathā samprasāraṇamātravidhānena laghūpadhaguṇe"vṛddhi reci"iti vṛddhau 'viśvauhaḥ' ityādisiddhestadvaiyarthyaṃ spaṣṭameva/ satyāṃ hyetasyāṃ bahiraṅgasamprasāraṇasyāsiddhatvāllaghūpadhahuṇo na syāt/ na ca"puganta"iti sūtre nimittamiko viśeṣaṇam, ata eva 'bhinatti' ityādau na guṇaḥ/ evaṃ "nājānantarye"iti niṣedhāt kathaṃ paribhāṣāpravṛttiriti vācyam, pratyayasyāṅgāṃśa utthitākāṅkṣatvena tatravānvayāt,"puganta"ityādau karmadhārayāśrayaṇena pratyayaparāṅgāvayavalaghūpadhārūpeko guṇa iti"ikoguṇavṛddhī"iti sūtra bhāṣya sammater'the 'bhinatti' ityādāvadoṣācca/
akārāntopasarge 'nakārānte copapade vahervāhervā--ṇvivicāvanabhidhānānnasta eva/ vāryūherityādi tu 'ūhateḥ' kvipi bodhyam/ dhātūnāmanekārthatvānnārthāsaṅgatiḥ/ 'prauhaḥ' ityādyasādhveva, vṛddheraprāpteḥ/ asyohasyānarthakyānna"prādūhoṭha"ityasyāpi pravṛttiḥ/ na ca kāryakālapakṣe tripādyāmetatpravṛttirdurvāreti vācyam, pūrvaṃ prati parasyāsiddhatvādantaraṅgābhāvena pūrvasya tannirūpitabahiraṅgatvābhāvāt tayā tasyāsiddhatva pratipādanāsambhavāt/ na cānayā pūrvasyāsiddhatvādabhāvena taṃ prati parāsiddhatvaṃ pūrvatretyanena vaktumaśakyamiti vācyam, evaṃ hi vinigamanāvirahādubhayorapyapravṛttyāpatteḥ/ kiñca pūrvatretyasya pratyakṣatvena tenānumānikyā asyā bādha evocitaḥ/ ataḥ kāryakāla pakṣamevopakramyoktayuktīruktvā"ato 'yukto 'yaṃ parihāro na vā bahiraṅgalakṣaṇatvāt"ityuktaṃ visarjanīyasūtrabhāṣye siddhāntinā/ tripādīsthe 'ntaraṅge kartavye parihāro na yukta iti tadarthaḥ/ kintu vacanamevārabdhavyamiti tadāśayaḥ/ ata eva"nigālyate"ityādau latvārtham 'tasya doṣaḥ' iti vacanamevārabdham/ anyathāntaraṅgatvāt ṇilopāt pūrvaṃ vaikalpikalatve tadvaiyarthyaṃ spaṣṭameva/ ye 'pi lakṣyānurodhādānumānikyāpyantaraṅgaparibhāṣayā pratyakṣasiddhasya pūrvatretyasya bādhaṃ vadanti, te 'pi lakṣaṇaikacakṣurbhirnā'dartavyeti dik/ ata eva"omāṅośca"ityāṅgrahaṇaṃ caritārtham/ taddhi"khaṭvā ā ūḍhaḥ"ityatra paramapi savarṇadīrghaṃ bādhitvāntaraṅgatvād guṇe kṛte vṛddhiprāptau pararūpārtham/ sādhanabodhakapratyayotpatyanantaraṃ pūrvaṃ dhātorupasargayoge paścāt 'khaṭvā' śabdasya samudāyena yogāt guṇasyāntaraṅgatvamiti"samprasāraṇācca"iti sūtre bhāṣye spaṣṭam/ 'ehi' ityanukaraṇasya śivādiśabdasambandhe tu nāsya pravṛttiḥ, jñāpakapara"samprasāraṇācca"iti sūtrasthabhāṣyaprāmāṇyenāmityam, 'prakṛtivadanukaraṇam' ityatideśamādāya labdhāṅgatve etadapravṛtteḥ/ yattu"pūrvaṃ dhāturupasargeṇa yujyate paścāt sādhamema/ upasargeṇa tatsaṃjñakaśabdena, sādhanena kārakeṇa tatprayuktakāryeṇa ca/ ata eva 'anubhūyate' ityādau sakarmakatvāt karmaṇi lakāra siddhiḥ' iti tanna, kriyāyāḥ sādhyatvena bodhāt, sādhyasya ca sādhanākāṅkṣatayā tatsambandhottarameva niścitakriyā bodhena sādhanakāryapravṛtyuttarameva kriyāyoganimittopasargasaṃjñakasya sambandhaucityāt/ ata eva"suṭ kātpūrvaḥ"iti sūtre"pūrvaṃ dhāturupasargeṇa"ityuktvā 'naitat sāram,"pūrvaṃ dhātuḥ sādhanena yujyate, paścādupasargeṇa"ityuktvoktayuktyāsyaiva yuktatvamuktam, 'sādhanaṃ hi kriyāṃ nirvartayati' ityādinā bhāṣye/ upasargadyotyārthāntarbhāveṇa dhātunaivārthābhidhānādukteṣu karmaṇi lakārādi siddhiḥ/ paścācchotṛbodhāya dyotakopasarga sambandhaḥ/ evañcāntaraṅgatarārthatopasarganimittaḥ suṭ sam -- kṛtītyavasthāyāṃ dvitvāditaḥ pūrvaṃ pravartate, tato dvitvādi/ ata eva"praṇidāpayati"ityādau ṇatvam 'yadāgamāḥ' iti nyāyena samāhitaṃ bhāṣye/ ata eva 'pratyeti pratyayaḥ' ityādi siddhiḥ/ yadupasarganimittakaṃ kāryamusargārthāśritaṃ viśiṣṭopasarganimittatvāt tadantaraṅgam/ yattu na tathā, tatra pūrvāgatasādhananimittakamevāntaraṅgam/ ata eva"na dhātu"iti sūtre"preddhaḥ"ityatra"guṇo bahiraṅgaḥ"iti bhāṣye uktam/ kiñca"pūrvamupasargayoge dhātūpasargayoḥ samāse aikasvaryādyāpattiḥ' iti"upapadamatiṅ"iti sūtre bhāṣye spaṣṭam/ bhāvārthapratyayasyāpi pūrvamevotpattiḥ/ ata eva"ṇeradhyayane"iti nirdeśaḥ saṅgacchate/ idaṃ ca sāmānyāpekṣaṃ jñāpakam, bhāvatiṅo'pi pūrvamutpatteḥ/ anyathā tatra samāsāpattiḥ/ tiṅi tu 'atiṅ' iti niṣedhānna tatra doṣaḥ, yadi bhāvatiṅyupasargayogo 'stītyalam/ yattu"viśeṣāpekṣāt sāmānyāpekṣamantaraṅgam"viśeṣāpekṣe viśeṣadharmasyādhikasya nimittatvāt/ yathā"rudādibhyaḥ sārvadhātuke"ityatra rudāditvaṃ sārvadhātukatvaṃ ca/ tatra sārvadhātukajñanāya prakṛterdhātutvajñānaṃ pratyayasya pratyayatvajñānaṃ cāvaśyakamiti yāsuḍantaraṅgaḥ/ etena yat"anudāttaṅitaḥ"iti sūtre kaiyaṭenoktam
"lamātrāpekṣayāntaraṅgastibādayo lakāraviśeṣāpekṣatvādbahiraṅgāḥ syādayaḥ"iti, tatparāstam ; viśeṣāpekṣatve 'pi tasya sāmānyadharmanimittakatvābhāvena tatvasya durupapādatvāt, paranimittakatvena syādīnāṃ bahiraṅgatvācceti, tanna ; viśeṣasya vyāpyatvena vyāpakasyānumānenopasthitāvapi tasya nimittatve mānābhāvenādhikadharmanimittakatvānupapādanāt, bhāṣye evaṃvidha antaraṅga bahiraṅgabhāvasya, kvāpyanullekhācca/ yattu matupsūtre bhāṣye"pañca gāvo yasya santi, sa 'pañcaguḥ' ityatra matuprāptimāśaṅkya 'pratyekamasāmarthyāt, samudāyādaprātipadikatvāt, samāsāt, samāsenoktatvāt' iti siddhāntinokte 'naitatsāram, ukte 'pi hi pratyayārthe utpadyate dvigostaddhito yathā 'pāñcanāpitiḥ' iti pūrvapakṣyuktirbhāṣye/"dvigorluganapatye"iti lugvidhānāt taddhitārthadvigostaddhito bhavati, pañcaguśabdaśca dviguriti tadāśayaṃ kaiyaṭaḥ/ tataḥ 'dvaimāturaḥ' 'pāñcanāpitiḥ' 'pañcasu kapāleṣu saṃskṛtaḥ' ityādau sāvakāśadvigorbahuvrīhiṇā prakṛte paratvāt bādha ityāśayena"naiṣa dviguḥ, kastarhi? bahuvrīhiḥ"iti siddhāntinokte tamavakāśamajānāno 'pavādatvād dviguḥ prāpnoti pūrvapakṣī/ anyapadārthe subantamātrasya vidhīyamāna bahuvrīheḥ saṅkhyāyāstaddhitārthe vidhīyamāno dvigurviśeṣavihitatvād bādhakaḥ prāpnotīti kaiyaṭaḥ/ tataḥ siddhāntyekadeśeyāha :-"antaraṅgatvād bahuvrīhiḥ/ kāntaraṅgā? anyapadārthe bahuvrīhiḥ, viśiṣṭe 'nyapadārthe dviguḥ, tasmiṃścāsya taddhite 'stigrahaṇaṃ kriyate"iti/ adhikāstyarthāpekṣamatvarthanimitto dvigurbahiraṅga iti kaiyaṭa iti/ naiṣā siddhāntyuktiḥ, etāvatāpyapavādatvahāneḥ/ acsāmānyāpekṣayaṇo viśiṣṭasavarṇājapekṣadīrdheṇa bādha darśanāt/ kiñcoktarītyā paratvena bādhasiddheḥ/ kiñcātrādhikāpekṣatvenaiva bahiraṅgatvam, na kevalaviśeṣāpekṣatveneti natadbhāṣyārūḍhaṃ viśeṣāpekṣasya bahiraṅgatvam/ ata eva subantasāmānyāpekṣo bahuvrīhiḥ, tadviśeṣāpekṣo dviguriti noktaṃ bhāṣye/ na cārthakṛtabahiraṅgatvasyānāśrayaṇādidamayuktam, ekadeśyuktitvenādoṣāt/ ata evāstigrahaṇaṃ nopādyartham, kintvastiśabdānmatubarthamiti tvadabhimataṃ bahiraṅgatvamapi dvigornāstīti pratipādya siddhāntinā"matvarthe dvigoḥ pratiṣedho vaktavyaḥ"iti vacanenaitatsiddhamityuktam/ ata eva"tadoḥ saḥ sāvanantyayoḥ"iti sūtre 'nantyayoriti caritārtham/ anyathā pratyaya sāmānyāpekṣatvenāntaraṅgatvādantyasyātve 'nantyasyaiva satve siddhe tadvaiyyarthyaṃ spaṣṭameva/"pādaḥ pat"iti sūtre bhāṣyakaiyaṭayorapyetadantaraṅgatvābhāva eva sūcita iti sudhiyo vibhāvayantu/ nanvevaṃ 'asusravat' ityatralaghūpadhaguṇāduvaṅo'lpanimittatvābhāvāduvaṅ na syaditi cet,na ; tatrāntaḥkāryatvarūpāntaraṅgatvasatvāt/ antaḥkāryatvaṃ ca pūrvopasthitanimittakatvam, aṅgaśabdasya nimittaparatvāt/ idamantaraṅgatvaṃ lokanyāyasiddhamiti"manuṣyo 'yaṃ prātarutthāya śarīrakāryāṇi karoti, tataḥ suhṛdāṃ, tataḥ sambandhinām"/ arthānāmapi jātivyaktiliṅgasaṃkhyākārakāṇāṃ bodhakramaḥ śāśtrakṛtkalpitaḥ/ tatkrameṇaiva ca tadbodhakaśabdhapradurbhāvaḥ kalpita iti tatkrameṇaiva tatkāryāṇīti 'paṭvyā' ityādāvantaraṅgatvāt pūrvaṃ pūrvayaṇādeśaḥ, parayaṇādeśasya bahiraṅgatayāsiddhatvādityanena"acaḥ parasmin"iti sūtre bhāṣye spaṣṭam/ tadapi yugapatprāptau pūrvapravṛttiniyāmakameva/ yathā 'paṭvyā' ityatra padasya vibhajyānvākhyāne, na tu jātasya bahiraṅgasya tādṛśe 'ntaraṅge 'siddhatāniyāmakam,"prāgukta lokanyāyena tathaiva lābhāt"iti "vāha ūṭh"sūtre kaiyaṭe spaṣṭam/ ata eva vāyvorityādau valilopo yaṇaḥ sthānivatvena vāritaḥ,"acaḥ parasmin"ityatra bhāṣyakṛtā/ krameṇānvākhyāne tūktodāharaṇe pūrvapravṛttikatvamantaraṅgatvaṃ bahiraṅgasyāsiddhatvamapi nimittabhāvādaprāptirūpaṃ bodhyam/ yattu evaṃ rītyā pūrvasthānikamapyantaraṅgamiti, taccintyam, 'srajiṣṭhaḥ' ityādau vinmatorluki ṭilopasyāpavādavinmatorlukpravṛtyā jātipakṣāśrayaṇena vāraṇaprayāsasya"prakṛtyaikāc"iti sūtra prayojanakhaṇḍanāvasare bhāṣyakṛtkṛtasya naiṣphalyāpatteḥ/ tvadukta rītyā vinmatorluko bahiraṅgāsiddhatvenānāyāsatastadvāraṇāt, bhāṣya
īdṛśarītyā bahiraṅgāsiddhatvasya kvāpyanāśrayaṇācca, paribhāṣāyāmaṅgaśabdasya nimittaparatvācca/ iyaṃ cottarapadādhikārasthabahiraṅgasya nāsiddhatvabodhiketi"ica ekāco 'm"iti sūtre bhāṣye pūrvapakṣyuktiriti sā nādartavyā/"parantapaḥ"ityādāvanusvāre nāsiddhatvaṃ mumastripādyāṃ tadapravṛtteḥ/ navya mate 'pi yathoddeśapakṣāśrayaṇenānyathāsiddhodāharaṇadānena tasya taduktitvamāvaśyakamityāhuḥ/ ābhīye 'ntaraṅge ābhīyasya bahiraṅgasya samānāśrayasya nānenāsiddhatvam, antaraṅgasyāsiddhatvādityasiddhavat sūtre bhāṣye spaṣṭam/ evam sici vṛddheḥ"yena nāprapti"nyāyenāntaraṅgabādhakatvamūlakam"na sicyantaraṅgamasti" iti"ikoguṇa"iti sūtre bhāṣye spaṣṭam//

atra"ṣatvatukoḥ"iti sūtrasthaṃ tuggrahaṇaṃ jñāpakam/ anyathā 'adhītya 'pretya' ityādau samāsottaraṃ lyappravṛtyā pūrvaṃ samāse jāte tatra saṃhitāyā nityatvād lyabutpattiparyantamapyasaṃhitaya'vasthānāsambhavena ekādeśe lyapi tugapekṣayā padadvayasambandhivarṇadvayāpekṣaikādeśasya bahiraṅgatayāsiddhatvena tadvaiyarthyaṃ spaṣṭameva/ "padadvayasambandhivarṇadvayāpekṣaṃ bahiraṅgam"iti 'preddhaḥ' ityādau guṇo bahiraṅga iti granthena"na dhātu lopa"iti sūtre"saṃyogāntasya lopaḥ"iti sūtre ca bhāṣye spaṣṭam/ yattu ṣatvagrahaṇamapi jñāpakam, anyathā"ko 'sicat"ityādau padadvayasambandhivarṇadvayāpekṣatvena bahiraṅgasyaikādeśasyāsiddhatvena ṣatva pravṛttau kiṃ teneti/ tanna, iṇaḥ pūrvapadasambandhitvena ṣatvasyāpi padadvaya sambandhivarṇadvayāpekṣatvenobhayoḥ samatvāt/ ekādeśasyaparāditvena 'osicat' ityasya padatvena padāditvābhāvānna"sātpadādyoḥ"ityanena niṣedhaḥ/ traipādike 'ntaraṅge kāryakālapakṣepi bahiraṅgaparibhāṣāyā apravṛtteḥ pūrvamupapāditatvācca/ paribhāṣārthastu -- aco 'nyānantaryanimittake 'ntaraṅge kartavye jātasya bahiraṅgasya bahiṣṭva prakḷptiḥ/ bahiṣpadena bahiraṅgam, tasya bhāvo bahiraṅgatvam/ tatprayuktāsiddhatvasya na prakḷptiḥ, na prāptiriti/ 'asiddhaṃ bahiraṅgam' ityuktvā 'nājānantarya iti vakṣyāmi' iti bhāṣyāktyā tatratyasya antaraṅga ityasyānuvṛttisūcanāt/ tena 'pacāvedam' ityādau na doṣaḥ/ antaraṅgasyācsthānika kāryasyaitvasya anyanantarya nimittakatvābhāvāt/ 'jātasya bahiraṅgasya' ityuktyā 'ajaye indram' 'dhiyati' ityādau bahiraṅgadīrgha guṇāderasiddhatvaṃ siddham/ ata eva"iṇṅiśīnāmād guṇaḥ, savarṇadīrghatvācchacaṅantasyāntaraṅgalakṣaṇatvāt"ityādi saṅgacchate/ ata eva"omāṅośca"ityāṅgrahaṇaṃ caritārtham/ taddhi 'śivaaāaiha' iti sthite paramapi savarṇadīrghaṃ bādhitvā dhātūpasargakāryatvenāntaraṅgatvād guṇe vṛddhibādhanārtham/ nanu"akṣadyūḥ"ityatra yaṇi kṛte ūṭho 'siddhatvād valilopāpattiriti vācyam, aco 'nyānantaryanimittake 'ntaraṅge kartavye kṛte ca tasminyadantaraṅgaṃ prapnoti, tatra ca kartavye nāsiddhatvamiti tadarthāt/ asiddhaparibhāṣāyā anityatvena tadvāraṇe tvasyā vaiyarthyaṃ tenaiva siddheḥ/ ata eva"na lopaḥ sup"iti sūtre kṛti tuggrahaṇaṃ caritārtham/ anyathā 'vṛtrahabhyām' ityādau bahirbhūtabhyāmnimittakapadatvāśrayatvena bahiraṅgatayā nalopasyāsiddhatvena siddhestadvaiyarthyaṃ spaṣṭameva/ mama tu kyajānantaryasatvānna doṣaḥ/ na caivaṃ sati"hrasvasyapiti"iti sūtrasya bhāṣyavirodhaḥ/ tatra hi 'grāmaṇi putraḥ' ityatra "ikohrasvo 'ṅyaḥ"iti hrasve kṛte tukamāśaṅkya hrasvasyabahiraṅgāsiddhatvena samāhitam/"nājānantaryā"ityasya
satve tatra tadaprapterasaṅgatiḥ spaṣṭameveti vācyam ; tena bhāṣyeṇāsyā anavakāśatvabodhanāt/ etajjñāpakena antaraṅgaparibhāṣāyā anityatvabodhanasyaiva nyāyyatvāt/ ata eva"acaḥ parasmin"iti sūtre bhāṣye 'paṭu ī ā' ityatra parayaṇādeśasya anayāsiddhatvāt pūrvayaṇādeśaḥ sādhitaḥ/ ata evaiṣā bhāṣye punaḥ kvāpi nollikhitā/ ata eva antaraṅgaparibhāṣāmupakramya vipratiṣedhasūtre 'syā bahūni prayojanāni santi, tadarthameṣā paribhāṣākartavyā, pratividheyaṃ ca doṣeṣu' ityuktam,"samprasāraṇācca"iti sūtre bhāṣye/ pratividhānaṃ ca paribhāṣāviṣaye 'nityatvāśrayaṇameveti dhvanitamityalam//

etadvirodhād yat"tadrājasya"iti sūtre kaiyaṭenoktam ' aṅgānatikrānto 'tyaṅgaḥ' ityatra supoluki bahuvacana paratvābhāvāt "tadrājasya"iti lug na syāditi śaṅkāparabhāṣyavyākhyāvasare antaraṅgānapīti nyāyenāyaṃ luk subluko bādhakaḥ syādityāśaṅkya subluka evānena balavatvaṃ bodhyata iti tatprauḍhyeti draṣṭavyam/ lugapekṣayā luko balavatvasya vaktumaśakyatvāditi tadā śaṅkā samādhānaṃ vaktuṃ yuktam/ anena nyāyenāntaraṅganimittavināśakalukastatprayojakasamāsādīnāṃ ca prābalyaṃ bodhyata ityanyatra vistaraḥ//
nanvevam saumendre 'ntaraṅgatvādādguṇe pūrvapadātparendraśabdābhāvena"nendrasyapaparasya"iti vṛddhiniṣedho vyarthaḥ/ antādivadbhāvastūbhayata āśrayaṇe niṣiddhaḥ/ kiñca vṛddhirapyatra na prāpnoti, antādivatvobhayābhāve 'pi pūrvāntavatvenaikādeśaviśiṣṭe pūrvapadatvenendraśabdasya 'ekadeśavikṛta' nyāyena 'ubhayata āśrayaṇe nāntādivat' ityasyābhāvena tadāśrayaṇena vottarapadatve 'pi tasyānackatvādekasyaikādeśena parasya nityena"yasyeti"lopenāpahārāt/ na ca parādivadbhāvenaikādeśaviśiṣṭasyottarapadatvamevāstviti tatsambhava iti vācyam; uttarapadādyacsthānikatvād vṛddhestadabhāvenāprāptestādrūpyānatideśāt/ anyathā 'khaṭvābhiḥ' ityādāvapi pūrvāntavatvenādantatve bhisa aisāpattiriti bhāṣye spaṣṭam/ ata eva 'pūrveṣukāmaśamaḥ' ityādāvantaraṅgatvād guṇe vṛddhirnasyādityāśaṅkitam/ tadekadeśamātrasya vikārābhāvācca/ taduktaṃ bhāṣye 'indredvavacau, ekaḥ"yasyeti"lopenāpahṛto 'para ekādeśena, tato 'nacka indra śabdaḥ sampannastatra kaḥ prasaṅgo vṛddheriti/ marudādibhirindrasya dvandve indrasyaiva pūrva nipātaḥ, ata āha :-

"abhyāsasyārteḥ"iti vā gurutvānna yuktam/ na ca"e,ai,o,au"śabdebhya ācārakvibantebhyo liṭīyaṅādyarthaṃ tatsūtranāvaśyakam, tathā"uvoṇakīyiṣati"ityādyarthamāvaśyakamiti vācyam, ṣāṣṭhaprathamānhikāntastha bhāṣya prāmāṇyena teṣāmanabhidhānāt/ antye dvitīyadvirvacanasyaiva satvena tvadukta prayogasyaiva durlabhatvāt/ evañca sampūrṇa sūtrasya jñāpakatā yuktā/ yadyapi bhāṣye 'yadayamabhyāsasyāsavarṇa ityasavarṇagrahaṇaṃ karoti' iti granthenāsavarṇagrahaṇasyaiva jñāpakatā labhyate, tathāpi 'na hyantareṇa guṇavṛddhī asavarṇaparābhyāso bhavati' iti tadupapādana granthena sampūrṇa sūtrasyaiva jñāpakatā labhyate/ agre 'pi 'naitadasti jñāpakam, atyarthametat syāt' ityanena sūtra sārthakyameva darśitam/ asavarṇagrahaṇasyaiva jñāpakatve tu tadvyāvartyapradarśanena tat sārthakyameva darśitaṃ syāt/ na ca 'akṛtavyūha' paribhāṣayā 'iyeṣa' ityādau savarṇadīrdhāprāptiḥ, yadi dīrdhonasyāt, tarhi guṇaḥ syāditi sambhāvanāyāḥ satvena paribhāṣāpravṛtteḥ sūpapādatvāditi kathaṃ sampūrṇa sūtrasya jñāpakateti vācyam, tasyā asatvāt/ satve vaitadbhāṣyaprāmāṇyena yatrāntaraṅgakāryapravṛttiyogyakālottarameva tannimittavināśaka bahiraṅgavidheḥ praptiḥ, tatraiva tatparibhāṣāpravṛttisvīkārācca/ na cāntaraṅgatvād dīrdhopi 'iyāya' ityādau pūrvāntavatvenābhyāsatvādivarṇatvācca ṇalyasavarṇa iyaṅvidhānena sūtraṃ caritārtham/ na ca"aci śnu"ityanena siddhiḥ, vṛddhibādhanārthatvāditi vācyam/ pratyāsatyāsavarṇa padena abhyāsottarakhaṇḍasambandhyasavarṇāca eva grahaṇāt, śāstrabādhakalpanāpekṣayā paribhāṣājñāpakatvasyaivaucityāccetyāhuḥ/ sā ceyaṃ dharmigrāhakamānādāṅgavārṇayoḥ samānakāryitva eva/ yattu samānanimittakatvarūpasamānāśrayatva evaiṣeti, tat, na ; jñāpite 'pi"iyāya""iyeṣa"ityādyasiddheḥ, sūtravaiyarthyasya tadavasthātvācca/ "syonaḥ"ityatra tu vakṣyamāṇarītyāsyā anityatvādapravṛttau guṇādantaraṅgatvād yaṇādeśaḥ/ na caivamapi 'iyāya' ityādāviyaṅ durlabhaḥ, tatra kartavye vṛddhyādeḥ sthānivatvena 'asavarṇe' iti pratiṣedhāditi vācyam, sūtrārambhasāmarthyādeva stthānivatvāpravṛtteḥ/ tacca sāmānyāpekṣam/ abhyāsakārye taduttarakhaṇḍādeśasya tatkāryapratibandhakībhūtaṃ sthānivatvaṃ neti/ ata eva 'ārati' ityādau yaṇādeśasya sthānivatvādabhyāsasya"ḍhralope"iti dīrdho durlabha ityapāstam/ dīrghavidhau tanniṣedhācca/ "ariyiyāt"ityatra sthānivatveneyaṅ bhavatyeva, tasya sthānivatvasyābhyāsakārya pratibandhakatvābhāvāt/ 'iyañcāṅgasambandhinyāṅga eva' iti"svarito vā"iti sūtre bhāṣye/ tatra hi 'kumāryai' ityādo yaṇuttaramāḍuktaḥ/ iyañcānityā 'chvoḥ' iti satugnirdeśāt/ anyathāntaraṅgatvāt pūrvaṃ tukaḥ śādeśe tuko 'prāptyā tadvaiyarthyaṃ spaṣṭamevetyanyatra vistaraḥ//

kṛtadīrghebhyaḥ pratyayotpatyartham/ anyathāntaraṅgatvād dīrdhe kṛta eva pratyayaprāptyā tadvyarthatā spaṣṭa eva/ na cātraikādeśapravṛtti samaye vṛddhyaprāptyaikādeśe kṛta ādeśe vṛddheḥ praptāvapi tannimittavināśābhāva iti vācyam, taddavāraiva tannimittavināśasatvenākṣateḥ/ na ca sautthitau bahiraṅgatayā vṛddherasiddhatvānna tannimittavināśa iti vācyam, samarthagrahaṇenaitad viṣaye tasyā apravṛtterapi jñāpanāt/ yattu samarthagrahaṇenāntaraṅgaparibhāṣāyā anityatvameva jñāpyata iti/ tanna, asiddha paribhāṣāyā samakālaprāpta bahiraṅgasya pūrvaṃ jātabahiraṅgasya cāntaraṅge kartavye 'siddhatvaṃ bodhyate, na tu jāte 'ntaraṅge tasya tatva bodhyate, mānābhāvāt, phalābhāvācca/ evañca sūtthitāvekādeśasya paribhāṣāsādhyatvābhāvena tadanityatvajñāpanāsambhavāt/"antaraṅgānapi vidhīn"ityāderapyasyāmevāntarbhāvaḥ/ etat pravṛttau ca nimittavināśasambhāvanāpi nimittam/ ata eva 'gomaddaṇḍī' ityādau halṅyādi lopo na/ anyathā halṅyādi lopa kāle sāmāsika luko 'prāptyā taduttaraṃ cāpahāryābhāvādaprāptyā lopasyaivāpatteḥ/ asti cātrāpi 'yadi lopo na syāt, tarhi luk syāt' iti sambhāvanā/ "alloponaḥ"iti sūtrastha taparakaraṇaṃ tu paribhānityatvajñāpanenacaritārtham/ taddhi 'āna' ityādo lopavāraṇāya/ anyathā dīrīghābhāve lopasambhāvanayaitatparibhāṣābalāt dīrghāprāptau tadvaiyarthyaṃ spaṣṭamevetyāhuḥ/ "samarthānām"iti sūtre kaiyaṭastu samarthavacaneneyaṃ paribhāṣā jñāpyate"akṛtavyūhāḥ pāṇinīyāḥ"iti/ tena 'papuṣaḥ' itiyādāvantaraṅgātpūrvaṃ kṛto 'pīḍāgamo nivartata iti vadan 'na kṛto vyūhaḥ viśiṣṭastarko nimittakāraṇavināśe 'pi kāryasthitirūpo yaiḥ' ityarthamabhipraiti/ 'nimittāpāye naimittikasyāpyapāyaḥ' iti yāvat/ sūtthitādiñi vṛddhau dīrghanivṛttau sāvuttthitirmābhūditi samarthānāmiti/ lokanyāya siddhaścāyamarthaḥ/ tathā hi loke nimittaṃ dvividhaṃ dṛṣṭam--kāryasthito niyāmakaṃ tadaniyāmakaṃ ca/ ādyaṃ yathā nyāyanaye 'pekṣā buddhiḥ, tannāśe dvitvanāśābhyupagamāt/ vedānti naye prārabdhasya vikṣepasthiti niyāmakatvaṃ ca prasiddhameva/ dvitīyaṃ yathā daṇḍādi, tannāśe 'pi ghaṭanāśadarśanāt/ śāstre lakṣyānurodhād vyavasthā/ bhāvinimittavināśe pūrvamanutpattau tu na kaścinnyāyaḥnāpi sampratipanno dṛṣṭāntaḥ/ samarthānāmityasyāpi lokasiddhārthajñāpanena cartārthyasambhave lokasiddhāpūrvatādṛśārthajñapakatve mānābhāva iti tadāśaya iti bodhyam/ pare tu 'seduṣaḥ' ityādau padāvadhike 'nvākhyāne 'sed vas as' iti sthite iṭ samprasāraṇayoḥ praptau pratipadavidhitvāt pūrvaṃ samprasāraṇe valāditvābhādiṭaḥ prāptireva neti tatsiddhiriti spaṣṭam"samarthānām"iti sūtre kaiyaṭe,"asiddhavat"sūtre kaiyaṭe ca spaṣṭametat/ yadyapi pratipadavidhitvamanavakāśatve satyeva bādhakatve bījam, tathāpi pūrvapravṛttau sāvakāśatve 'pi niyāmakaṃ bhavatyeveti tadāśayaḥ/ nirūpitaṃ caitad bahuśaḥ śabdenduśekharādau/ "samarthānām"iti sūtrasthasamarthagrahaṇaṃ tu 'viṣuṇaḥ' ityādāvakṛtasandheḥ pratyayadarśanena sarvatra tathā bhramavāraṇāya nyāyasiddhārthānuvāda eva/ dhvanitaṃ cedam"vipratiṣedha"sūtre bhāṣye/ tatra hi 'vaikṣamaṇiḥ' ityantaraṅga paribhāṣodāharaṇamuktam/ kiñca vibhajyānvākhyāne 'su utthita as i' it sthite 'vārṇādāṅgaṃ balīyaḥ' iti prāpta vṛddhi vāraṇāya samarthagrahaṇamityatraiva kaiyaṭe spaṣṭam/
ata eva"asiddhavat"sūtre 'vasusamprasāraṇamajvidhau siddhaṃ vaktavyam' 'papuṣaḥ' ityādau vasoḥ samprasāraṇe kṛte āto lopo yathā syāt' iti bhāṣye uktam/ padasya vibhajyānvākhyāne pūrvoktakaiyaṭarītyā pūrvaṃ samprasāraṇe iṭoprāptāvusnimittaka evā'to lopa iti tadasaṅgatiḥ/ ata eva 'caupratyaṅgastapratiṣedhaḥ' iti vacanaṃ vārtikakṛtā'rabdham, bhāṣyakṛtā ca na pratyākhyātam/ pratyaṅgaṃ antaraṅgam/ asyāṃ paribhāṣāyāṃ satyāṃ tu tadvaiyarthyaṃ spaṣṭameva/ ata eva"chvoḥ"iti sūtre 'avaśyamatra tugabhāvārtho yatnaḥ kāryaḥ' antaraṅgatvāddhi tuk prāpnoti' iti bhāṣye uktam/ etatsatve tu tuko 'prāptyā yatnāvaśyakatvakathanamasaṅgatamiti spaṣṭameva/ na caitadanityatvajñāpanārthameva taditi tadāśayaḥ, avaśyamatretyakṣarasvārasyabhaṅgāpatteḥ/ kiñcānayaiva"pratyayottarapadayośca" "ado jagdhirlyapti kiti"itiyanayoścāritārthyena tajjñāpakavaśālluglyaporantaraṅgabādhakatā bhāṣyoktā bhajyeta/ kiñcaiṣā bhāṣye na dṛśyate/ taduktam"asiddhavat"sūtre kaiyaṭena 'nimittāpāye naimittikasyāpyapāyaḥ' iti paribhāṣāyāḥ 'bhaṣyakṛtānāśrayaṇāt' iti/ padasaṃskāra pakṣe 'hariḥ' ityādau visarge kṛte tato gacchatītyādi sambandhe 'hariḥ gacchati' ityādyeva sādhu/ tadviṣaye padasaṃskārapakṣānāśrayaṇaṃ veti dik//

/katipayasaṃskaraṇe yadyapi"antaraṅgādapyapavādo balīyān"ityapi paribhāṣārūpeṇāṅgīkṛtam, kintu 'paranityāntaraṅgāpavādānāmuttarottaraṃ balīyaḥ' ityanena gatārthatvāt, nāgeśalekhanasvarasāt, paribhāṣāpāṭhe paṭhitatvāt, candrikākāreṇa dhṛtatvāt, siddhānta kaunudyāṃ bhaṭṭoji dīkṣitenāpi svīkṛtatvāt, yenanāprāpte yovidhirārabhyate sa tasya bādhako bhavati ityevātra paribhāṣārūpeṇa paṭhyate//
yattu 'dayaterdigi' iti sūtre dvitvottaraṃ digyādeśasya cāritārthyaṃ kaiyaṭenoktam, tat prauḍhyā/ dhvanitañca tenāpi tasya tathātvaṃ taduttaragranthena/ "asambhava eva bādhakatvam, virodhasya tadbījatvāt"iti vārtikamataṃ tu bhāṣyakṛtā dūṣitatvānna lakṣyasiddhyupayogi/ "takrakauṇḍinya"nyāyopi tadaprāptiyogye 'caritārthaviṣayo vidheyaviṣaya eva ceti"taddhiteṣvacāmādeḥ" "dhātorekācaḥ"ityādi sūtreṣu bhāṣye spaṣṭam/ kvacittu sarvathānavakāśatvādeva bādhakatvam/ yathā ṅerāmo yāḍādibādhakatvam/ na hi yāḍādiṣu kṛteṣu ṅerām prapnoti, nirdiśyamānasya vyavadhānāt/ tatra svasya pūrvaṃ pravṛttirityeva teṣāṃ bādhaḥ/ tatra bādhake pravṛtte yadyutsargaprāptirbhavati tadā bhavatyeva/ yathā tatraiva yāḍāgamaḥ/ aprāptau tu na, yathā 'paceyuḥ' ityādau dīrghavādhake niravakāśa iyādeśe dīrghābhāvaḥ//

apavādaśabdo 'tra bādhakaparaḥ/ taduktam"guṇo yaṅlukoḥ"ityatra bhāṣye/ abhyāsavikāreṣvapavādā utsargānna bādhante/ 'ajīgaṇat'/ atra gaṇerītvamapavādatvāddhalādiḥśeṣaṃ bādhate/ nagaṇerītvamapavādatvāddhalādiḥśeṣaṃ bādhate/ kiṃ tarha? anavakāśatvāditi granthena gaṇarūpābhyāsāntyaṇasyetvamityarthe halādiḥśeṣa tannivṛttau tadanavakāśam, ītve tu kṛte tasya praptiḥ, antya halo 'bhāvāt/ abhyāsavikāreṣu bādhyabādhakabhāvābhāvena ca sādhitam/ tasmiṃśca sati lope kṛte sāmarthyācchiṣṭasyāntyasyetvamiti na doṣaḥ/ na ca 'yena nāprāpti' nyāyenāpavādatvamapyasya suvacam, tasya caritārthaviṣayatāyā uktatvāt/ "iko jhal"ityatra bhāṣyepi dhvanitametat/ tatra hi 'ajjhana' iti dīrdheṇa guṇottaraṃ phalābhāvenānavakāśatvād guṇo bādhite dīrghottaraṃ guṇaḥ syāt, dīrghavidhānaṃ tu minoterdīrdhe kṛte"sani mīmā"ityatra mīgrahaṇena grahaṇer'thavattatra paścāt praptaguṇabādhanārtham,"iko jhal"iti kitvamityuktam/ anyathāpavādatvena bādhe tadviṣaye utsargāpravṛtterbhāṣyasya sūtrasya cāsaṅgatiriti spaṣṭameva/ yattu kāñcanītyādāvapavādamayaḍviṣaye 'yaṇ bhavati, 'kvacidapavādaviṣaye 'pi' iti nyāyāditi tanna ;"aṇaḥ karmaṇica"iti sūtrasthabhāṣyavirodhāt/ tatra hi 'aṇaḥ punarvacanamapavādaviṣaye 'nivṛtyartham' 'godāyo vrajati' ityādyuktam/ 'kāñcanī' ityādau kāñcanenanirmitetyarthe śaiṣiko 'ṇ bodhyaḥ/ atredaṃ bodhyam -- 'yenanāprapte' ityatra yenetyasya yadi svetareṇetyarthaḥ, tadā sva viṣaye svataradyadyat prāpnoti tad bādhyam, vidhyantarāprāptaviṣayābhāvāt/ iyameva bādhyasāmānyacinteti vyavahriyate/ anavakāśatvena bādhe 'pyeṣā vaktuṃ śakyā yadyudāharaṇamasti, vinigamanāvirahāt/ yadi tu yenetyasya lakṣaṇenetyarthaḥ, kāryeṇetyartho vā tadā bādhyaviśeṣacintā/ anavakāśatvena bādhe 'pyetadbādhena sārthakyam, uta tadbādhenetyevaṃ viśeṣacintā sambhavati, yadyudāharaṇamasti//
tatra kāryeṇetyarthe pararūpatvavacchinne kātya ārabhyamāṇāyā vṛddhestadbādhakatve na nirṇīte kiṃ śāstravihitasyetyevaṃ tadviśeṣacintāyāmāha --
purastādapavādāḥ anantarān vidhīn bādhante, nottarān // Paribh_59 //
avaśyaṃ svaparasmin bādhanīye prathamopasthitānantarabādhena cāritārthye paścādupasthitasya tataḥ parasya bādhe mānābhāva ākāṅkṣāyā nivṛttervipratiṣedhaśāstrabādhe mānābhāvāccetyetasya bījam//
"nāsikodarauṣṭhajaṅghādante"ityauṣṭhādyaṃśe ṅīṣniṣedhatvāvacchinnahādhakatve nirṇīte kiṃ nihitasyetyākāṅkṣāyāmāha :--
madye 'pavādāḥ pūrvān vidhīn bādhante, nottarān // Paribh_60 //

nanu"vā chandasi"ityanena"serhyapicca"ityanantarasyāpitvasyeva herapi vikalapaḥ syāt/ tathā"noṭa"iti niṣedho 'nantarahalantalakṣaṇāyā iva sicivṛddhimṛjivṛddhayorapi syāt, ata uktanyāyamūlakamevāha :-

ata eva"saṃkhyāvyayādeḥ"iti ṅībgrahaṇaṃ caritārtham/ taddhyanantasyaṅīṣovidhyabhāvāya/"na ktici"iti sūtre dīrghagrahaṇañca -- caritārtham/ taddhyanantarasyānudāttopadeśetyasyaiva niṣedhābhāvāya/ madhye 'pavādanyayāpekṣayānantarasyeti nyāyaḥ prabala iti"aṣṭābhyaḥ"iti sūtre kaiyaṭaḥ/ pratyāsattimūlako 'yam/ lakṣyānurodhātta vyavasthetyapi pakṣāntaram/ tatra tatra kvacit svaritatvapratijñānāt, sāmarthyena vā bādhyate 'yaṃ nyāyaḥ/ yathā"ṭiḍiḍhā"iti sūtreṇa ḍāpāvyavahitasyāpi ṅīpo vidhiḥ/"na ṣaṭ"ityādinā dvayorapi ṭābṅīpoḥ pratiṣedhaḥ/ iyañca"śi sarvanāmasthānam"ityādau bhāṣye spaṣṭetyanyatra vistaraḥ//
nanu dadhatītyādāvantaraṅgatvādantādeśe 'lvidhau, sthānivatvābhāvādādeśo na syāditi tadvaiyarthyāpattiḥ, ata āha :-
pūrvaṃ hyapavādā abhiniviśante paścādutsargāḥ // Paribh_62 //
lakṣaṇaikacakṣuṣako hyapavādaviṣayaṃ paryālocya tadviṣayatvābhāvaniṣcaya utsargeṇa tattallakṣyaṃ saṃskaroti/ anyathā vikalpāpattirityarthaḥ/ abhiniviśanta ityasya buddhyārūḍhā bhavantītyarthaḥ/ 'apavādo yadyanyatra caritārthaḥ' iti nyāyasya tu nātra praptiḥ, antādeśaprāptiviṣaye cāritārthyābhāvāt//
lakṣyaikacakṣuṣkastu tacchāstra paryālocanaṃ vināpyapavādaviṣayaṃ parityajyotsargeṇa lakṣyaṃ saṃskaroti, tasyāpi śāstraprakriyāsmaraṇapūrvakaprayoga eva dharmotpatteḥ, tadāha :-
prakalpya cāpavādaviṣayaṃ tata utsargo 'bhiniviśante // Paribh_63 //
tata ityasyāpavādaśāstraparyālocanāt prāgapītyarthaḥ/ prakalpyetyasya parityajyetyarthaḥ/ ata eva prātipadikārtha sūtre bhāṣye"idaṃ dvayapyuktvā na kadācittāvadutsargo bhavati, apavādaṃ tāvatpratīkṣate"ityarthakamuktam//
etanmūlakameva navīnāḥ paṭhanti :-
upasañjaniṣyamāṇanimittopyapavāda upasañjātanimittamapyutsargaṃ bādhata iti // Paribh_64 //
yattvabhyastasaṃjñāsūtre kaiyaṭena prakalpya ceti pratīkamupādāya yathā 'na samprasāraṇa iti parasya yaṇaḥ pūrvaṃ samprasāraṇam, pūrvasya tu tannimittakaḥ pratiṣedhaḥ' ityuktam, tattu tata utsarga ityādyakṣarārthānanuguṇam/ yattvapavādavākyārthaṃ vinā notsargavākyārtha iti, tanna, 'abhiniviśate 'pavādaviṣayam' ityādipadasvārasyabhaṅgāpatteḥ/ padajanyapadārthopasthatau vākyārthabodhābhāve kāraṇabhāvācca/ yatra tvapavādo niṣiddhaḥ, tatrāpavādaviṣaye 'pyutsargaḥ pravartata eva/ yathā 'vṛkṣau' ityatra"nādici"iti pūrvasavarṇadīrghaniṣedhādapravartamānasya vṛddhibādhakatvābhāvāt vṛddhiḥ pravartate/ ata eva"tau sat' ityādi saṅgacchate/ ata eva nirdeśād bhraṣṭāvasaranyāyasyātra śāstreṇānāśrayaṇam/ dhvanitaṃ cedam"ikoguṇa"iti sūtre bhāṣya iti bhāṣyapradīpodyote nirūpitam/ atra 'devadattasya hantari hate devadattasyonmajjanaṃ na' iti nyāyasya viṣaya eva nāsti/ hate devadatta unmajjanaṃ na devadattahananodyatasya, hanane tu bhavatyevonmajjanam/ prakṛte 'pi na pūrvasavarṇadīrgheṇa vṛddherhananam,
kintu hananodyamasajātīyaṃ prasakti mātram, prasaktasyaiva niṣedhāt/ pratipadoktatvamapi niravakāśatve satyeva bādhaprayojakam/ spaṣṭañcadam"śeṣādvibhāṣā"iti sūtre bhāṣye/ tatra hi 'śeṣagrahaṇamanarthakam, ye pratipadaṃ vidhīyante te bādhakā bhaviṣyanti' ityāśaṅkya, 'anavakāśā hi vidhayo bādhakā bhavanti samāsāntāśca kababhāve sāvakāśāḥ' ityuktam/ kvacidanavakāśatvābhāve 'pi paranityādisamavadhāne śīghropasthitikatvena pūrvapravṛttiprayajakaṃ balavatvaṃ pratipadavidhitvenāpi, paranityāntaraṅgapratipadavidhayo virodhisannipāte teṣāṃ mithaḥ parabalīyastvamiti"pratyayottarapadayośca"iti sūtre kaiyaṭena pāṭhāt/ ata eva 'rame' ityādaupratipadoktatvāt pūrvametva ākārapraśleṣāddhalṅyādilopo na prāpnotītyāśaṅkya"eṅhrasvāt"iti lopena samāhitam//
nanu 'ayaje indiram' ityādāvantaraṅgasyāpi guṇasyāpavādena savarṇa dīrghema bādhaḥ syāt, ata āha :-
apavādo yadyanyatra caritārthastarhyantaraṅgeṇa bādhyate // Paribh_65 //
niravakāśatvarūpasya bādhakatvabījasyābhāvāt/ evañca prakṛte 'ntaraṅgeṇa guṇena savarṇadīrghaḥ samānāśraye caritārtho yaṇguṇayorapavādo 'pi bādhyate/ pūrvopasthitinimittatvarūpāntaraṅgatvaviṣaya idam/ yattvāgamādeśayorna bādhyabādhakabhāvaḥ, bhinnaphalatvāt, ata eva 'brāmhaṇebhyo dadhi dīyatām, kambalaḥ kauṇḍinyāya' ityādau kambaladānena na dadhidānabādha iti"chvoḥ"iti sūtre kaiyaṭaḥ/ tanna, 'apavādo nugdīrghatvasya' iti"dīrdho 'kitaḥ"iti sūtrabhāṣyavirodhāt//
nanu 'ajīgaṇat' ityādau gaṇerītvaṃ niravakāśatvāddhalādiḥśeṣaṃ bādheta, tatrāha :-
abhyāsavikāreṣu bādhyabādhakabhāvo nāsti // Paribh_66 //
"dīrgho 'kitaḥ"ityakidgrahaṇamasyā jñāpakam/ anyathā 'yaṃyayamyate' ityatra nuki kṛte 'najantatvād dīrghāprāptyā tadvaiyarthyaṃ spaṣṭameva/ iyaṃ parāntaraṅgādibādhakānāmapyabādhakatvabodhikā/ tena 'acīkarat' 'mīmāṃsate' ityādi siddham/ ādye sanvadbhāvasya paratvaddīrgheṇa bādhaḥ prāpnoti/ antye"mānbadha"iti dīrgheṇāntaraṅgatvādityasya bādhaḥ prāptaḥ/ yattu yatraikaikapravṛtyuttaramapi sarveṣāṃ pravṛttistatraivedamityataḥ"eka"iti sūtre kaiyaṭaḥ, tanna ; nuki kṛte itvāprāptyā"guṇo yaṅlukoḥ"iti sūtrasthabhāṣyoktatadudāharaṇāsaṅgateścetyanyatra vistaraḥ//

nanvevam 'hasitaṃ chātrasya hasanam' ityādau ghañ, 'icchati bhoktum' ityatra liṅloṭau, 'īṣatpānaḥ somo bhavatā' ityatra khal prāpnotītyata āha :-

anubandhanirdeśo dvidhā -- svarūpeṇa, 'ṅitaḥ'ityādipadena ca/ 'hanti, yāti, vāti,"sanīvanta"iti sūtre bhareti,"dīṅo yuḍaci" "anudātta ṅitaḥ" "divādibhyaḥ śyan""ekāca upadeśe"ityudāharaṇāni/ dvitvam"sanādyantāḥ"iti"bhūvādayaḥ"iti dhātutvaṃ ca bhavatyeva,"guṇoyaṅlukoḥ"itiyīdibhirnuṣedhānityatvakalpanāt/ tena bhaṣbhāvo 'pi 'ajarghāḥ' ityādau bhavati/ ata eva"śvoditaḥ"iti sūtre kaiyaṭe -- 'yatraikāj grahaṇaṃ kiñcit' iti pāṭhaḥ/"ekāca upadeśe/ṭanudāttāt"iti sūtra ekājgrahaṇenaikadeśānumatyaiṣā jñāpyate/ anyathopadeśe 'nkācānudāttatvasyaiva satvena tadvaiyarthyaṃ spaṣṭameveti/ tadapi na, bhāṣyānuktatvāt/ ekājgrahaṇasya vadhivyāvṛtyarthamāvaśyakatvācca/ na ca vadhissthānyupadeśa ekājeveti vācyam, sākṣādupadeśasambhavenaitadviṣaye sthānyupadeśāgrahaṇāt, upadeśātvāvacchedenaikājityarthācca/ kiñca uttarārthamekājgrahaṇam/ ata eva 'jāgaritavān' ityādāvupadeśa ugantatvamādāya"śruyukaḥ kiti"itīṇ niṣedho na/ tatropadeśe ityanuvṛttiśya 'stīrṇam' ityādāviṇ niṣedhāyetyākare spaṣṭam/ na ca bhāṣye yaṅ lopo 'bebhiditā' ityādāviṭpravṛtyarthamupadeśe 'nudāttādekācaḥ śrūyamāṇādaṅgādityarthe sanīṭpratiṣedho vaktavyaḥ, 'bibhitsati' iti doṣopanyāsavad yaṅluki doṣāṇāmupanyāsena tatreḍiṣṭaḥ/ yaṅlopetyādi bhāṣyaṃ tūpakramopasaṃhārabalena na yaṅlugviṣayam/
kiñca, tasya tadviṣayakatve yaṅlope sthānivatvasyevayaṅlukyupāyāpradarśanena nyūnatpattiriti vācyam, iḍviṣaye yaṅluko loke 'nabhidhānena chandasi sarvavidhīnāṃ vaikalpikatvena ca tatra doṣānupanyāsenādoṣāt/ anyathā 'ekājgrahaṇaṃ kimartham' iti praśnasya 'uttaratra jāgartyarthamiha vadhyartham' ityuttarasya ca bhāṣye nirālambhanatvapatteḥ/ na cārdhadhātukākṣiptadhātorekāca iti viśeṣaṇam/ evaṃ ca 'bibhitsati' ityādāvuttarakhaṇḍasya dhātorekāctvamastyeva, uttarakhaṇḍe 'stitvavat/ etacca 'dayateḥ' iti sūtre bhāṣye spaṣṭam/ evaṃ ca prakṛtabhāṣyāsaṅgatiriti vācyam ; ākṣepe ākṣiptasyānvaye ca mānābhāvāt/ aṅgatvaṃ tu viśiṣṭa eveti"ekāco dve"iti sūtre bhāṣye spaṣṭam/ nirūpitaṃ ca tanādiśeṣe śabdenduśekhare/ dhātutvaṃ tūttarakhaṇḍa eva/ ata eva"ekāco baśo bhaṣ"iti sūtre dhātoravayavasyaikāca iti vaiyadhikaraṇyenānvaye gardhapsiddhiḥ prayojanamuktaṃ bhāṣye, na tu prasiddham 'ajarghāḥ' iti/ 'ajarghāḥ, bebhidīti' ityādau śnam śyanādayastu"carkarītaṃ ca"ityasyādādau pāṭhena yaṅlugante gaṇāntaraprayuktavikaraṇasyāprāptyā na bhavanti/ chāndasatvādeva kāryāntarāṇāmapi chandasi dṛṣṭaprayogeṣvadṛṣṭānāmabhāvo bodhyaḥ/ bhāṣāyāṃ tu tādṛśānāmabhāva eva/ śtipśabādinirdeśāstu 'bhavateraḥ' ityādi sūtrasthatannirdeśavannārthasādhakā ityanyatra vistaraḥ//

prativākyaṃ bhinnavākyārthabodhakalpanena gauravaṃ spaṣṭameva/ parantu bhāṣyāsammateyam/"ṭāṅasi"iti sūtrastha bhāṣya viruddhā ca/ tatra ca inādeśe ikārapratyākhyānaṃ yogavibhāgenaiva kṛtamiti bahavaḥ//

"eoṅ" "aiauc"sūtrayordhvanitaiṣā bhāṣye/ tatrānekapadaghaṭitasūtre prāyaḥ padalāghavavicāra eva, na tu mātrālāghavavicāra iti"ūkāloc,"apṛkta ekāl"ityādisūtreṣu bhāṣye dhvanitam/ tatra hi sūtre algrahaṇahalgrahaṇayorviśeṣavicāre saṃjñāyāṃ halgrahaṇam"ṇyakṣatriya"iti sūtre aṇiñoriti vācyamiti trīṇi padānyalgrahaṇe, tadekaṃ svādilope halgrahaṇam"ṇya"iti sūtre aṇiñoriti na vācyam, apṛktasyeti vācyamiti trīṇyeva padānīti nāsti lāghavakṛto viśeṣa ityuktam/ "aci śnu"iti sūtre iṇa ityeva siddhe yvoriti saṃmṛdya grahaṇānna pūrveṇeṇgrahaṇam/ tatra vibhakti nirdeśe saṃmṛdya grahaṇe ca sārdhāstrisro mātrā iṇ grahaṇe tisro mātrā iti laṇsūtre bhāṣyokteḥ, tathā"otaḥ śyani"iti sūtre śitīti na vaktavyam/ tatrāyamarthaḥ --"ṣṭhivuklamu"iti sūtre 'śitīti na karttavyaṃ bhavati' iti bhāṣye na kevalaṃ mātrālāghavaṃ yāvadayamapyartha iti kaiyaṭokteḥ prāyeṇeti śivam//
