kṣaṇakṣīṇatopalakṣaṇena prekṣāvāṃśca kṣaṇiko 'kṣepapakṣapramukhānāṃ yathāsukhasukhaṃ lekhayāpi khaṇḍayituṃ duḥśaktam | idṛśasaśaktisamarthanam | tasmādācā (8) ryavacanāt tameva śruti-śrutipuṭakena kaṇehṛtya prīyatāṃ prītyā na sa sāhityepi pararupeṇa karttā svarūpañcatasya prāgapīti prāgapi kuryāditi | yadapyamunā (9) nayena vivadatā vādini susthitam | tathāpi kiṃ asamarthasyaiva sahakārivirahaḥ svarūpalābhānantaraṃ kartureva vā sahakārisamavadhānamanyathā neti ki niyāmaka (10) miti cet 'idamucyate kuśūlasthabījasyāṃkurānukūlaḥ śilāśakalādviśeṣaḥ kaścidasti na vā, na cenniyamena ekatra pravṛttireva na syānnivṛttiśca tadarthino na syāt paramparayāṅkuraprasavasamarthabījakṣaṇajananādastyeveti cet - kadā punaḥ paramparayāpi tathābhūtaṃ kariṣyatīti | tatra sandeha iti cet | sa punaḥ kimākāraḥ kiṃ sahakāriṣu (2) samavahiteṣvapi teṣu kariṣyati na veti | uta asamavahiteṣvapi kariṣyati na veti | atha yadā sahakārisamavadhānaṃ tadaiva kariṣyatyeveti | kadā teṣāṃ samavadhānamiti (3)sandehaḥ | nādyaḥ samānyataḥ kāraṇatvānavadhāraṇaitasyānavakāśāt | avakāśe vā kāraṇatvāvadhāraṇāt | netaraḥ sahakāriṇāṃ tattvāvadhāraṇe tasyāna (4) vakāśāt, avakāśe vā teṣāṃ tattvānavadhāraṇāt | tṛtīye tu sarva eva tatsantānāntaḥpātino bījakṣaṇāḥ samānaśīlā prapnuvanti yatra tatra sahakāri (5) samavadhāne sati kṛti niyamāt sarvatra ca sahakārisamavadhānasambhavāt | 'samartha eva kṣaṇe kṣityādisamavadhānamiti cet- tatkimasama(6)rthe sahakārisamavadhānameva na | samavadhāne satyapi vā na tasmātkāryajanma | nādyaḥ śilāśakalādāvapi kṣitisalilatejaḥ pavana yoga (7) darśanāt | netaraḥ śilāśakalādiva kadācitsahakārisākalyavatopi vījādaṅkurānutpattiprasaṅgāt | ḥ evamapisyāt | ko doṣa iti cet (8) na tāvadidamupalabdham | āśaṅkayata iti cenna tatsannidhāne satyapi akaraṇavat tadvirahepi karaṇayogamapyāśaṅkyeta āśaṅkyatāmiti cet-tarhi bījavirahe 'pi āśaṅkyeta | tathā ca sādhvī (9) pratyakṣānupalambhapariśuddhiḥ | syādetat na bījādīnāṃ parasparasamavadhānavatāmeva kāryakaraṇamaṅgīkṛtyāśaṅkyate yena samavadhānāniyamā sarveṣāmbā tajjātī yānāmekarasatā niścayaḥ syāt | nāpi yatra tatra samarthopapattimaṅgīkṛtya yena vikalaibhyo 'pi kāryajanmasambhāvanāyāṃ pratyakṣānupalambhavirodhaḥsyāt | kinnāma bījādiṣu sa (2) mavahiteṣvavāntarajātiviśeṣamāśrityāpi kāryajanmasambhāvyata iti | ḥna dṛṣṭasamavadhānamātreṇaiva upapattau tatkalpanāyāṃ pramāṇābhāvāt kalpanāgauravaprasaṅgaḥ (3) pratihatatvāt atīndriyendriyādivilopaprasaṅgāt kalpanānupapatterviśeṣasya viśeṣaṃprati prayojakatvāccetiḥ - tadapyasāraṃ - bījasyajanmani jananaṃ yena niru(4)pitameva nidānamaṅkurakāṇḍakaliśaprabhṛti -urṇavanayavanavanakusūlatalanimīlayadapi dātrasūrya (śūrpa) mṛtimukkuraprakramāditadanantaramupanayogyabelāvilokanekusū (6) lakakṣitadākaṣaprakarṣakṣetredharādhāmādisamavadhānamupasarppaṇapratyayapratibaddhamabhyavasitamakhilena pariṇatiparamparayā ca kiyatyā pūjyate saṅgatima(6)ñjasā aṅkurākhyaṃ kṣityādīnāṃ kāryaṃ nyakṣeṇālakṣita tadetasya pariṇatakāraṇaparamparāyāṃ bhindati sa svabhāvo vā bījasvabhāvo 'cyutaprācyarūpo vā va (7) stuto 'stviti vimarśapūrvakaṃ kharvvagarvabhṛtaḥ prastubate tatrānarthāntarajātibhedānumatirmateḥ puro nāpi prakṛtaprabandhānubandho bauddhānāṃ prasiddhaḥ siddhāntaḥ (8) punarīdṛśaḥ - nikhilāstrikarṇasukhaṃkurvāṇaḥ tadyathā samarthaḥ kutaḥ utpanna iti cet svakāraṇebhyaḥ | tānyenamaparapratyayasannidhāna eva kiṃ janayanti? kadācidanyathā syāt tataścaikopi kvacijjanayediti cet "aparāparapratyayayogena pratyabhikṣaṇaṃ bhinnaśaktayaḥ santanvantaḥ saṃskārāḥ yadyapi kutaścetsāmyātsarupāḥ pratiyante tathāpi bhinnaevai ṣāṃ svabhāvastena kiśñcideva kasyacitkāraṇamiti "kasmādḥ dṛśyāvāntarajātibhedopālambhaḥ sṛgallapallavitaḥ prabalajanavaduttānenāntaḥkaraṇaṃ prīṇāti prā (2) māṇikasya sthūlaparāmarśena hi vijātīyavyāvṛttavījāvarjitaṃ svakāryakāritvamavasthāpitamapi sūkṣmāvāntaraprasaṅgatadviparyayaparyālocanākhya vimarśāntaravṛtyā (3) bījatvādhiṣṭhitasvabhāvaviśeṣapratiṣṭhitaṃ prasādhyate kiṃ tatrānupapannaṃ nāma yathā davīyasi deśe viniveśitātmabhāvaṃ bhāvaṃ vibhāvya vṛkṣa ityavṛkṣavyāvṛttamavadhārayatyavadhā (4) raṇādhvarīṇodbhava janaḥ putraḥ sannidhānādhīnadhīviśeṣeṇa śiṃśapeti tatrāpyete nirūpaṇāt vakrakoṭarapaṭalaghaṭitasskandhasandhiriti svabhāvāntaramavagamya (5) mānamapi na vṛkṣatvaśiśapātva śūnyamavasīyate | na vā sarvovṛkṣaḥ śiṃśapā na vā sarve ca śiṃśapā vakrakoṭarapaṭalaghaṭitaskandhasandhiriti tathābhūtaṃ prastutama (7) pyastu vastuvyathāvyūhasyāpahateḥ anupahasita eva sādhyāsādhanabhāvaḥ bījatvameva hi sāmānyambidhirūpe 'vasthitaṃ akhilāsu vyaktiṣu nāsmākamaṅgīkārago (7) caraḥ punaśca tatrāvāntarādṛśyajātibhedābhyupagamavādo vāvadūkakalpita evamucyate [muhyate] na puñjapuñjena pratyarthitaḥ, etaccāmbaravartmavartikamalaparimalālolarolambamānā (8) virāvakulāvagāhi, yaduta- sa khalu jātiviśeṣaḥ saṃgrāhako vā syāt pratikṣepako vā syāt - evaṃ śālitvamapi saṃgrāhakaṃ carapratikṣepakaṃ vā | ḥ na ca nobhayamapītyādi (9) yathā vikalpakalpitapratidūṣaṇaprasaraḥ yasmātsmerāsyasarasīruhahārihasitenāpi nārpitasatyaṅkāraḥ kaścidapi vipaścidevaṃ vidhāvāntarajātibhede yādṛśastupa rāparapratyayaprabandhānubandhabodhitaḥ sāmānyasambhave 'pi svabhāvabhedastathā prakhyāpitamanantaraṃ sahetu hetuvittasaṃspandanena yatpunaruktirucyate viśeṣasya viśeṣaṃ prati prayo (2) jakavirodhācce ' ti tatsiddhameva sādhayitumārabdham | tathāpi yadyapi kutaścit sā syāt sarūpāḥ pratīyante tathāpi bhinna evaiṣāṃ svabhāva iti bhāṣayā śālibījatvādhiṣṭhitāntyavyaktilakṣaṇañca (3) vilakṣaṇasvabhāvaviśeṣavibhrānta eva kartṛvādo 'ṅkuraṃ pratisthūlaparāmarśavyavasthāpi tatkartṛbhāvabhājaṃ bījadharmmiṇaṃ adhyavasāyasāhityetarayoravasthayoḥ adhikaraṇakara (4) ṇe kalayā kalayitumaśakye virodhākarṣiprasaṅgaṃ tadviparyayapramāṇamaikyaparipanthipaśyatā dṛśyate hi prāmāṇikacakramaulilālitacaraṇayugalānā (5) mapyevaṃvidho kṣaṇavyāhāraḥ yathā pramāṇetataratāsādhāraṇavedavākyamākalayyādhikaraṇapramāṇāntareṇa prāmāṇyalakṣaṇasvabhāvāntarasādhanam | yathā vā (6) mahīmahīdharādiśaśadharakṛtetarādinā rūpeṇa saṃdigdhamapi dharmapurodhāya sādhanāntareṇa tanute jano jānāti cācaraṇīyacakrabahuviratitattvaṃ yaścāyamu(7) -pasaṃhāraḥ saṃddabdhaḥ | tasmādyo yathābhūto yathābhūtamātmano 'nvayavyatirekāvanukārayati tasya tathābhūtasyaiva tathābhūte sāmarthyam, tadviśeṣāstu kāryaviśeṣaṃ prayojayanti śālyādivaditi yuktamutpaśyāma iti mayokto yasmātsthūlāskhalitapratyākalanena aṅkenādāya tasminnaṃśe niḥśaṅkaḥśaṅkaśukopilokaḥ | kathaṃkathi(9) -kastu tadavāntaravicāracakracaurapravyāvitasthūladṛṣṭiniviṣṭabuddhiḥ prameyaḥ pradāpyate | nāmunā nyāyeneti punarbhaṇāmaḥ | anyabījajātīyamapi ca kusūlamī lanānuktabījaṃ bījatvena nirūpaṇāt | anayoravasthayoḥ sthitaikasvabhāvatvaṃ viruddhatā prasaṅgādināpramāṇenāha prayojakamātreṇābījatvamāyātīti kena bhāvena bhāṣya-(1)-te | kintayoravasthayo sthitasya sthairya pratyakṣeṇa siddhamasti | atha tadvā syāttāddak cāsyānukaścidviśeṣamityabhisandhinā | atha prasaṅgatadviparyayameva na kiñciditi kṛtvā | kiṃvā bījatvameva (3) sāmānyamātmasakalavyaktipratyekaparisamāptamūrtisahajaśaktisaśabditamāgantu śakti vyapadeśyaṃ sahakārisāhityasametamupalabdhamaṅkurajananayojyamanyathātve (4) bījatve iti manasi niveśya sthairyasya pratyakṣasiddhiparyālocanātśūnyatvānnādyaḥ | tādṛk tvamapi paryantavatināmeva bījānāmiti dvitīyopi na | prasaṅgatadvi (5) paryayapramāṇaṃ punarnirastasamastadūṣaṇam | abījaparāvṛtyā bījatvaṃ bahutamavyaktisammate 'pi pūrvāparakālayorbīje niścāyayiṣyate tena nijāgantukaśaktipakṣo (6) pakṣeṇa vailakṣaṇyāviṣkaraṇamātramatrāṇaṃ aṃkurasya jātiniyamākarmmakatvaprasaṅgastuviparyayavādhakamabādhakameva yatī'bījaparāvṛttiviśeṣeṇa bījatva (7) vāṅkuratvaniyamasyopapatteḥ | etena viparyayopyanaikāntikaḥ kathitaḥ | bījaviśeṣa eva hi prayojako na tanmātraṃ bījasya pramāṇavṛtterbalavatvāt | sthūladṛṣṭyā tvevamavasthāpya tāṃ na vyavahārahāniḥ pratibandhasādhanopāyaḥ punaḥ sāpāyaḥ aṅkurasya hi jātiniyamo na tāvannirmittaḥ, sārvatrikaprasaṅgāt | nāpyanyanimittaḥ tathābhūtasyābhāvāt seyaṃ (2) nimittavatā vipakṣānnivartamānā svavyāpyamādāya bījaprayojakatāmeva viśrāmyatīti pratibandhasiddhirityevaṃ varṇitā bījatvādhiṣṭhitasvabhāvabhedasyānyāvasthārūpatayā tūpalakṣaṇa (3) stha aṅkuratvaniyamaṃ pratiprayojakatvāt | vyabhicāryeva bījatvamātramaṅkurasyaprayojakatāyāṃ bījasvabhāvatvamātraṃ nāṅkure prayojakam, prayojakaṃ punaḥ tatsvabhāvādhiṣṭhita-(4) śeṣādhiṣṭhitaṃ prayatamāne bījatvamupalabdhamiti sthūlakalanam, na rūḍhakaphalaṃ tat anālokitastattvasthaloti etadeva tvamiti nāsau vyavahāraḥ pāramārthika(5) ityetattadā evamavatārito vicāraḥ kathaṃ prastāvamavavisphūryate tena bījasvabhāvatvaṃ kvacitkārye prayojakatvaṃ na vā? na cettatsvabhāvaṃ bījam, tena rūpeṇa (6) kaścidapyanupayogāt | evaṃ ca pratyakṣasiddhaṃ bīṃjasvabhāvatvannāsti sarvapramāṇāgocarastu viśeṣo 'stīti viśuddhā buddhirityupahāsabhāvāpyupahasitabhāva(7) meva tiraskaroti | kvacidapyupayoge tvekasya tena rūpeṇa sarveṣāmaviśeṣa tādrūpyāditi | yadyapi kutaścitsāmyātsarūpā pratīyante tathāpi bhinna eva eṣāṃ (8) svabhāvastena kiñcideva kasyacitkāraṇamityanena tathātvaṃ yacca bhāva syāditi kathitaṃ tadapi aprāptasahakārisāhityābhyāṃ viśeṣādipariṇāmalakṣaṇasāmarthyakāraṇa-(9)tvāt | antyabījarūpatvābhāvāt prasiddharoṣastiṣṭhati | tadeva hi tanna pūrva na paratvāditi kiṃ mukhasyete tasmāṃtpratikṣaṇamaparāparayat kāryānukūlapratyaya sākalyamadhi śayya bījatvamavāntaraṃ svabhāvālambanaṃ samvedyate tadeka kāryaprati tathābhūtaṃ samvedyate tadekakāryaṃ prati tathābhūtaṃ tadeva prayojakamasadvādagrahaḥ yaduktamanena tathā ca (2) bījaṃ kiṃcideva svakārya kuryānnāparāṇi | na ca vastumātraṃ tatkāryaṃ abījādanutpattiprasaṅgāt | nāpi bījamātraṃ aṃkurakāriṇo 'pi tadutpattiprasaṅgāt | nāpyaṅkurānyatamamātraṃ prāgapi tadutpattiprasaṅgāt | yadāyadutpannaṃ (3) sat yatkāryānukūlasahakārimadhyamadhiśete tadā tadeva kāyaṃ prati tasya prayojakamiti cet tatkimavāntarajātibhedamupādāya bījasvabhāvenaiveti vā ādye (4) sa eva jātibhedaḥ tatra prayojakaḥ kimāyātaṃ bījatvasya dvitīye tu samānaśīlānāmapi sahakārivikalpādakaraṇamityāyātaṃ tattatsahakāri sā (5)- hitye tattat kāryaṃ prati prayojakasya bījasvabhāvasya sarvasādhāraṇatvāditi | atrāpi prayogaḥ yat yena rūpeṇa arthakriyāsu nopamucyate na tattadrū paṃ yathā bī (6) jaṃ aṅkuratvena na kiṃcidpyakurvan na aṅkurasvarūpaṃ tathā ca śālyādayaḥ sāmagrīṃ praviṣṭādhibījatvenārthakriyāsu upayujyanta iti vyāpakānupalabdhiḥ (7) prasaṅgahetuḥ tadrūpatāyāṃ arthakriyāṃ pratiyogyatayā vyāptatvāt, anyathātiprasaṅgāt | tadrūpatvameva tasya pratyakṣasiddhatvādaśakyāpahravamiti cet - astu tarhi vi-(8)-paryayaḥ | yat yadrūpaṃ tattenārthakriyāsūpayujyate | yathā svabhāvena sāmagrī niveśino bhāvā bījajātīyārścaite kuśūlasthāsādayaḥ iti svabhāvahetuḥ tadrūpamātrā (9) nubandhitvāt yogyatāyāḥ tataścāsti kiñcitkāryaṃ yatra bījamupajyate | ityādirārambhe gambhīraḥ kaṇeravat tatsūramargalaḥ prasphuṭitaśaṃkha-(śṛṃga)-vat prabandho baddho vā bāla kathaya kutaḥ kutarke tvayā kalitaḥ | yataḥ pradarśādyānavadyavidyācāryaprakāṇḍaparipiṇḍinvīkṣikīkīrtitadharmakīrtikamatamaparāparapratyayogenetyādikaṃ prasaṅgo nāṅgasaṃgataḥ | (2) tadrūpatāmātrasya vastuvat prasūtaprarohādikāryārjanayogyatayā vyāptyayogāt | kāraṇābhāvāt samarthasvabhāvānupapatteḥ | tathāhi tatra yo 'vyavadhānādi deśabīja-(3)- viśvambharādikalāpaḥ sa sabhāgāṅkurakaraṇe samartho hetuḥ yasteṣāṃ parasparopasarpaṇāśraya pratyayaviśeṣaḥ (4) sa taddhetujanane samarthaḥ teṣāñca na pūrvaṃ na paścāt na pṛthak bhāva iti samarthānāmapi pūrvāparapṛthagbhāvabhāvino doṣā nopalīyante | tenaiṣāṃ parasparopasarpaṇādiheturyaḥ samarthaheturiti tasya na kadācidanyathābhāvaḥ | anena (5) nyāyena sarvatra hetuphalabhāvapratiniyamaḥ draṣṭavyaḥ pratikṣaṇaṃ anyānyasvabhāvabhedānvayinīṣu bhāvaśaktiṣu na tu sthiraikabhāveṣu bhāveṣu svabhāvasyānyathātvāsaṃbhavāt (6) samarthāsamarthasvabhāvayoḥ kriyākriyāyogāt | anyasahitaḥ karoti cet kiṃ na kevala iti cet kiṃ kevalasya kāryakaraṇe 'samarthaḥ svabhāvaḥ | samarthaḥ kiṃ na karoti? (7) akurvan kathaṃ samartha iti? hetuvindāvācāryavacanamakalaṅkahariṇāṅkanirmalamapi svapakṣanirvāhavāhādhirohādiva pratyūhavyūhavyastamupanyastavān abhyasitamanīṣaḥ pā-(8) rśvakarāni utprekṣyate sāhityamupādhimadhiropya sāmarthyāsāmarthyāpekṣayā prasaṅgatadviparya yapratyāśāṃ śāti bhavān tatrāpyācāryavacanaṃ na sāhityepi para-(9) rūpeṇa kartā svarūpañcāsya prāgapīti prāgapi kuryāt | iti sāhityepi na sāhityaviśeṣaṇaṃ karaṇasāmarthya miti prasaṅgāt | proktaṃ vākyantu tataḥ svabhāvaniṣṭha-(10) mapratiṣṭhāpya prasaṅgo nāṅgasaṅgatimaṅgīkarotyuktameva | nanu sati kṣaṇabhaṃga bhaṃgireṣāgurugariṣṭhopi śāstrakṛtaḥ tatprasādhakapramāṇaprasaṅgasaṅgatau durgatāṅganādohadalīlāṃ samudvahati picchilatattvatucchānacchārthā sa ya samūrcchalitā pakṣālakalaṅgaṇabharṅginaḥ sādhīyebhyo 'pi samyebhyo bībhatsanta iti (2) naitadāścaryaṃ sahasreṇāpi hi niṣpīḍāmavadhānataḥ surapatirakṣāṃ vīkṣyamāṇo na prekṣate 'sau sthitasthitasthityādisaṃvidhānādaparadaśāyāṃ bījasya janakatvamiti (3) sthirapakṣe kathamayaṃ niyamo mahanīyatāṃ nīyatāṃ kiṃ svahetudattamaryādatayā sāmagrayepi vā pratyekasāmarthyāsamarthamasahatayā vā paryantapratipannaparyantapratipannasaṃmūrcchanatādi sva-(4)-bhāvahīnatayā vā paripakṣādṛṣṭasadasatkarmanirmāṇanirmūlatayā vā dṛśyate tāvadevamevaṃ te kathamityanarthakaprathamakathā prathanādvā kaścarat purato gacchet svabhraṃ (5) vā svargameveti pakṣāḥ pañcendriyakalpanāt pañca vā upaskṛtasañcitānyaviṣayaniścayanānnādyā manasi vipaścitaḥ praviśati śakyamevamatathyamapi (6) sthāpayituṃ svakāraṇakalāpaparikalpitaṃ cakṣuṣo rūpaṃ yadidaṃ madīyo rūpaṃ ca samavaiti | śabdamatha pratyāsīdantaṃ tadātmanā tulayati aparatrānyevaṃ viṣaye-(7)-'nuśāsanīyamiti tṛpañcatayī kalpanā pāramārthikī syāt grāhyārthaviṣayā upadravyaṃ bhāvayituṃ pāryante | svahetudattamaryādatayā yadekameva hi svahetuvihitaviśeṣa (8) pañca vā dhiyaṃ dhatte pañcaprapañcacakṣurādīndriyaprasādāditi tadanantaramaghātapariśīlinamapi (śīlanīyaṃ) ekaikaśaḥ kalitānvayavyatirekatvāt anyapariṇāmapraṇāśamā-(9)-śaṃsatāṃ pūrvāśivatātiḥ prativādasya prārabdhāpriyeṇa priyamanuṣṭhitam | karmmanirmāṇanaipuṇyaṃ na pramāṇayatā praṇetavyo vyomāntarjātoyo vījādi bhāva (grāmaḥ) tasya dṛṣṭābhiniviṣṭatve vā kāmaṃ anya pratīkṣo 'stu, niyamastu virudhyata iti guruprabādhakapramāṇaprahāraḥ prakṛṣṭa āste | vādādikathā navyasya kathane ca vikṣepanigrahaprasaṅgaḥ (2) syāt pakṣapūjāviṣkaraṇamātramantimasapakṣe lakṣyate na punaradhikaṃ kiñcit | tasmāt tathā tatkāraṇaṃ vastu tathaiva tadakāraṇam yathā tatkāraṇaṃ kena mataṃ neṣṭamakāraṇam | (3) svabhāvabhedena binā vyāpāro 'pi na yujyate | nityasyādhyatirekitvāt sāmarthyañca duranvanyam || iti prasaṅgatadviparyaya preriṇāprasaraḥ sthiratve sati janakatvena nirṇītasyānti-(4)-ma pariṇāme brīhiviśeṣasyāvicala iti sthitamācāryavacanaṃ tasmāttatsvabhāvasya anyathātvāsambhavāt | taddharmaṇastu tathābhāvo 'ntyāvasthāvadanivāryaḥ | antyāvasthāyāṃ-(5)-prāga samarthasya sāmarthyotpattau sāmarthyasya tatsvabhāvatve 'pūrvotpattireva sā | atatsvabhāvatve sa prāgiva paścādapi akāraka eva | sāmarthyākhyātapadārthānta (6) rātkāryonpatteriti tasmātpratiṣṭhitasvabhāvabhāgī bhāvaḥ | ahetubhirjanyate na punaryayathānupratiṣṭhaḥ bījantu sati sahakārisākalye saṃdigdhe ni-(7)-ghananibandhanādhīnatvaṃ saśaṃsitasaṃbhāvanaṃ svahetunā janyata iti janyametat samastanyāyanīte | pāratantryaṃ hi sambandhaḥ siddhe kā paratantratā | tasmātsarvasya bhāvasya sambandho nāsti tattvataḥ | rūpe śleṣo hi sambandho dvitve sati kathaṃ bhavet | tasmātprakṛtibhiḥnnānāṃ sambandho nāsti tattvataḥ || parāpekṣāpi sambandhaḥ so 'san (9) kathamapekṣate | saṃśca saṃvanirāśaṃso bhāvaḥ kathamapekṣate || siddhāsiddhayorapekṣābhābādatyantasambhavī sambandhaḥ na siddhasyāsiddhaṃ kiñcidasti yadarthamapekṣyate yathā sāmānyātmanāsiddhaṃ viśeṣātmanārthamapekṣate aṅkurādiko bhāvaḥ niṣpattyaniṣpattivirudddharyādhyāsena bhinnatvāt siddhāsiddhavikalpānatikramāt tato na sahakārisāpekṣa-(2) balakṣapakṣādipadārthasārthasya sambhavaḥ svahetoḥ sambhāvanāspada nahi bhavati nijajanananigaḍaniyamita evāyaṃ naropasannamaunaniyama eva vācā vācaspati-(3) mapi picchayati | tasmātpramāṇaviruddha evārtho jñāpakena jñāpyate kāraka hetunā ca karaṇīya iti eṣa eva paramapramāṇikaḥ pracāraḥ | yaccoktam ḥathavā vyatirekeṇa prayogaḥ (4) vivādādhyāsitaṃ bījaṃ sahakārivikalpaprayuktāṅkurādikāryavaikalyaṃ tadutpattiniścayaviṣayībhūtabījajātīyatvāt, tatpunaḥ sahakārivikalpaprayuktāṅkurādikārya (5) na bhavati tadevaṃbhūtajātīyam, yathā śilāśakalamiti etadapi na sasāhityepi pararūpeṇa kartā ityetena gatārthaḥ | aṃkurajanasvabhāvabhraṣṭabhāvādeva anā-(6)-virbhūtābhinavodbhidvījaṃ prāgavasthāyāmiti sthāpitameva | sthūlaparāmarśāśraye samāveśyābījavyāvṛttavījaviṣayamanvayavyatirekakalpanaṃ sūkṣmāvā-(7)-ntaranirūpaṇaparāhanyamānamānasenāpi mantavyaṃ ko 'tra mantrayate | tasmātsthūlaparāmarśāpekṣayā yadi svabhāvaviśeṣabhraṃśena nāsyāṅkurakāryavika(8) latvaṃ sādhyamevamanokāntaḥ | sūkṣmaprekṣāpakṣāpekṣatā yajjātīyatvamasiddham | sa eva hi tasya nāsti yastajjanakaḥ | niḥsvabhāva iti bhāvaḥ | tadatra paramārthaḥ satvaṃ (9) tu hetuḥ kṣaṇikatve kutaḥ sapakṣo jaladharaḥ sa ca sāśvadharmādhyāsito bodhanīyaḥ pramāṇena pramāṇañca prasaṅgaviparyaya tacca kiṃ vyāpāraṃ upapādyate | pūrvāparāvasthayoḥ karaṇākaraṇamadhyakṣaprekṣitaṃ lakṣyīkṛtya pramāṇāntarabādhādvā kādācitkānapekṣavat iti tarkopaniṣadācāryavacanādviruddhamekatve pūrvāparāvasthayorbījasya prānte prekṣitapratyekakartṛtvasya sādhayati karaṇākaraṇam | yasmādvirodhasya sāmānyalakṣaṇaṃ ca vicakṣaṇaḥ samācakṣāṇaḥ parabhāga-(3)-bhāgī tatra sāmānlayakṣaṇamekadharmaṇyanavasthitiniyatatvaṃ tacca sāmānyaṃ vyaktidvayātmanā viśeṣī syāt | sahānavasthānalakṣaṇaṃ parasparaparihārasthitalakṣaṇa-(4)-tākhyaṃ ca | tatra prācyasya (ādyasya) pratyakṣānupalambhapratyakṣāṇi sattā sādhyasiddhāni dvitīyasya punaranyonyabhedasiddhervā dhruvabhāvavināśavat pramāṇāntarabādhādvā | kādācit(5) kānapekṣavaditi vacanādupāyadvayamupanyastamāste | tatra tatkālaṃ kāritvamatatkālakāritvabhedena sidhyati viruddhaṃ na kālāntarākāritvena tadavacchede-(6)-nāsya vidhervidhuratvāt | yathā kādācitkamakādācitkatvena viruddhaṃ anapekṣatvamapi sāpekṣatvena | atha cayenaiva pramāṇena kādācitkānapekṣa-(7)-yoḥ eka dharmiṇyanavasthitiniyatatvaṃ nirūpyate, tenaivānayorvirodho bodhasaudhādhirohī tadvatkālabhedena anāśritādimavirodhabodhopāyayora-(8)-pi karaṇākaraṇayoḥ prasaṅgaviparyayākhya makṣatapramāṇalakṣaṇamākhyāti, parasparapratyanīkatvamekadharmaṇyanavasthitiniyamaṃ nirūpayaditi palāyitaṃ pra(9) tyāśayā parasya ato yadaparamevamavādīt vādī tadapi dalitadardhamapasarpati sacivān | astu bījatvameva prayojakam, bhavatu sahakārisannidhāne sati kartṛsvabhāvatvaṃ bhāvasya, tathā ca tadasannidhāne 'karaṇamapyupapadyatām, tathāpi tajjātīyamātra eveyaṃ vyavasthā na tvekasyāṃ vyaktau karaṇākaraṇalakṣaṇaviruddha dharmādhyāsasya (2) tathā ca tadasaṃnidhāne pratyakṣasiddhatayā tatra durvāratvāditi cet-na virodhasvarūpānavavodhāt | sa khalu dharmayoḥ parasparābhāvarūpatvaṃ vā syāt nityānityavat(3) dharmiṇi tadāpādakatvaṃ vā śītoṣṇatvavat tadvatā vā daṇḍitva kuṇḍalitvavat | nādyaḥ nirviśeṣaṇasyāsiddheḥ yāvatsatvaṃ kiñcittkaraṇāt | saviśeṣaṇasya tu virodhasiddhāva-(4)-pyadhyāsānupapatteḥ | yadāyadakaraṇaṃ hi tatkaraṇasyābhāvo na tvanyadā tatkaraṇasya na caitayorekadharmisamāveśamātiṣṭhāmahe | netaraḥ bhāvābhā(5) vavyatiriktayoḥ karaṇākaraṇāsiddheḥ vyāpārāparavyapadeśasahakāribhāvābhāvau hi karaṇākaraṇe kāryabhāvābhāvau vā | ati-(6)-rekasiddhāvapi svakāla evaṃ svābhāvapratikṣepavadakaraṇābhāvamākṣipet karaṇaṃ na tvanyadā | nahi yo yadā nāsti sa tadā svabhāvaṃ pratikṣeptumarha-(7)-ti, virodhyabhāvaṃ vākṣeptuṃ tathā sati na kadācidapi tatra syānna kadāpi tadvirodhī bhavediti | 'nāsato vidyate bhāvo nābhāvo vidyate sata' iti āyātaṃ na vā viro -(8)-dha ityādikamatarkya tārkikatvaṃ arkakarasaṃparkakarkaśagāminopo mano na sāntvayati asarpāyopetatvādamīṣāmasadvikalpānām | yat punaḥ prasaṅgavipa-(9)-rya yamadhikṛtyai vā (e) kābhidhānam ḥstāṃ vā tathāpi na tābhyāṃ śakyāśakyayoravivakṣita kāla bheda eva virodhaḥ, sādhyate tathopasaṃhartuṃ aśakyatvāt | ḥ yadā tadetyupekṣya(10) yatsamartha tat karotyevetyupasaṃhartuṃ śakyamiti cet na kāla niyamāvivakṣāyāṃ yat samartha tat karotyeva kadācidit syāt | tathā ca sambhava vidheratyantā yogo viruddhaḥ, na tvayogaḥ nīlaṃ sarojaṃ bhavatyeveti vat iti | tadapi ayogo 'tyantāyīgavyavacchedenāpi sarvadā bījasya satve sambhavantu katṛtvamityabhimatatvāt malinanalina-(2)- nibhaṃ nibhālanīyaḥ | yaccoktam - "nanu yadasamatha (tvaṃ) prathamamāsīt, tasya paścādapi sāmarthya kuta āgatam | prathamaṃ samarthasya nā paścāt tatra gataṃ naitadevaṃ tattatsahakārimataḥ (3) tatkārakatvaṃ hi sāmarthya, atadvatastadanyavato vā tadakartṛ tvamasāmarthyamidañcautpattikamasya rūpamiti | ḥ tadapi sahakārisāpekṣajananabījavimarśena gatam te ca (4) sahakāriṇaḥ svopasarppaṇa pratyayavaśādbhinnakālā ityarthāt kāryāṇāmapi bhinnakālateti tathāpyekakālastha eva bhāvo jāto naṣṭastadā kāryaṃ karotu utpannamā (5) trasya tatsvabhāvatvāt | ekadeśasthavaditi cet -seyamekakālatā svarūpakālāpekṣayā sahakārisāṃnidhyāpekṣayā vā ādye na kiñcidanupapannaṃ (6) nityānāmapi evaṃ rūpatvāt, vartamānaikarūpatvādbhavānāṃ tadeva tu kvacitsāvadhi kvacinniravadhīti viśeṣaḥ | sāvadhitvepi vyāpāraphalapravāhaprakarṣāpraka-(7)-rṣābhyāṃ viśeṣaḥ | dvitīyastu syādapi yadi teṣāṃ yaugapadyaṃ bhavet | kramiṇastu sahakāriṇa ityuktam | sahakārisahitaḥ svabhāvena karotīti vaktari jā-(8)-ta naṣṭa eva karotu ityuttaraprasaṅgo nirargalaśaiśavasyetyalamanena | tasmātkāryasya sa eva kālaḥ kāraṇasya sacānyaśceti sambandhikālāpekṣayā pūrvakālatā vyavahā-(9)-raḥ | etadapi sahakārisākalyaviśeṣaṇakaraṇanirākaraṇādalīkaṃ parikalpanamanalpaṃ śalyacakrasātabhājanam deśabhedena tu kartṛtvākartṛtvamupalabdhaṃ ānyākṣepaṃ upayanātmahasitasahacarañca na virodhatvādi (2) sanamāpannaḥ | tenaiva sahakāreṇa tasyaiva tadaiva tathaiva sambaddhatvamasambaddhatvaṃ ca pūrvāparavelāyāmaniścita ḥastu tarhi tasyaiva tenaiva sahakāriṇa sahasambandho 'sambandhaśceti (3) virodhaḥ na vikalpānupapatteḥ | tathāhi sambandhinaḥ sambandhyantare svābhāvasvābhāvyaṃ vā virudhyeta, abhāva pratiyogitvaṃ vā, tadaiveti sahitaṃ vā, tatrai vati (4) sahitaṃ vā, ubhayasahitaṃ vā, tathaiveti sahitaṃ vā? vikalpakrameṇa (1) taduddharaṇavaktavyañcācakṣitamālocanīyam | (5) tathāhiśaśaśṛṃgasya | ñca ye yogyamayogyaścāpi jāyate || nityaṃ yogyasvabhāvasya tadvikalpavirodhataḥ | iti tyogyatāvācyaḥ svabhāvo 'sya nirupcyatām | vibhāgayogajāti-(6)-bhiḥ kimanyairgamanādibhiḥ | teṣu satyepi tasyeti, sambandhasyāprasiddhitaḥ || yuktaḥ svabhāvabhedo 'yaṃ tatpratikṣaṇajanminām | iti nyāyāt yadi saṃsargayo-(7)-gyaḥ svabhāvo bījasya nijo nāpaiti kadācana tadā svābhāvasvabhāvavatvamatṛṇahetuṃ kathamuktaṃ nānyat karmma iti | śeṣaṃ tu phalguvarjitaṃ anargalabālatvasyetyādi (1) tamālokasya | atha kādācitkaṃ tadrūpaṃ tadeva nirūpyatāṃ nibandhanaṃ ............... dipi yaḥ kimadhikeneti dhūrtatvena | 'iti anvayamukhena kṣaṇikatvānumānanirākṛtasya nirākaraṇam |' vyatirekabhāvādinirṇayaḥ dvitīyo 'dhyāyaḥ prasaṃgaviparyayarahasyaṃ.....pūrvaparyavasthi (ta).....vipakṣādakṣaṇikā vyāyāvṛttaṃ prāptaṃ varṇanam | adhikaśca tatrāśrayahetudṛṣṭāntasi (1) ddhau-pramāṇābhāvaḥ, avastuni pramāṇābhāvavṛtteḥ, pramāṇa pravṛttāvalīkatvānupapatteḥ | evaṃ tarhi avyavahāre svavacanavirodha iti cet-tat kiṃ svavacanavirodhenateṣupramāṇamupadarśi-(2)-taṃ bhavet vyavahāraniṣedhavyavahāropi khaṇḍitaḥ syāt | aprāmāṇiko vyavahāro 'vaśyaṃ svīkarttavya iti vā bhavet | nādyaḥ-nahi virodhasahasreṇāpi sthire tasyakramādivira-(3)-he vā śaśaśṛṅge vā pratyakṣaṃ anumānaṃ vā upadarśayituṃ śakyaṃ tathātve vā kṛtaṃ bhautakalahena | dvitīyastu iṣyata eva pramāṇikaiḥ | avacanameva tarhi prāptaṃ kiṃ kurmo yatra vaca-(4)-naṃ sarvathaivānupannaṃ tatrāvacanameva śreyaḥ, tvamapi paribhāvaya tāvat | niṣprāmāṇike 'rthe mūkavāvadūkayoḥ kataraḥ śreyān pramāṇika iti | evaṃ viduṣāpi bhavatā na mūkībhūya (5) sthitaṃ apitu vyavahāraḥ pratiṣiddha evāsatīti cet satyaṃ-yathā aprāmāṇikaḥ svavacanaviruddho 'rtho mā prasāṅkṣīditi manyamānena tvayi yo 'prāmāṇika-(6)-evāsati vyavahāraḥ svīkṛtastathāsmābhirapi pramāṇacintāyāṃ aprāmāṇiko vyavahāro mā prasāṅkṣīditi manyamānairaprāmāṇika eva svavacanavi-(7)-rodhaḥ svīkriyate | yadi tūbhayatrāpi bhavānsamānadṛṣṭiḥ syādasmābhirapi tadā na kiñciducyata iti | ḥ tṛtīye tvapramāṇikaścāpyavaśyasvīkartavyaśceti kasyeyamājñā iti bhavāneva (8) praṣṭavyaḥ | vyavahārasya sudṛḍhanirūḍhatvāditi cet-aprāmāṇikaśca dṛḍhanirūḍhaśceti vyāghātaḥ | kathañcidapi vyavasthitatvāditi cet-aprāmāṇika(9) ścennakathañcidapi vyavatiṣṭhate-prāmāṇikādivattadevocyatāmitivāde vyavasthā | ekameva jalpavitaṇḍayostu pramāṇapraśnamātravyavasyate svavacanavyāghātaḥ | tatra (10) pramāṇenottaramaśakyam ca, apramāṇena tūttare svavacanenaiva bhaṅgaḥ, madukteṣu praśnādiṣu pramāṇaṃ nāstīti svayameva svīkārāt anuttare tu aprati bhaiveti | yadi ca vyavahārasvīkāre virodhaparihāraḥ syāt asau svīkriyetāpi na tvevaṃ-na khalu sakalavyavahārābhājanañca tanniṣedhabhājanaṃ veti parasparamavirodhi(tam(2)cet) iti pareṇoktaṃ tadetatsakalamasaṅgatam-svavāgvādhābodhanayā hi vyāpakānupalambhāśrayādyasiddhimudbhāvayato 'doṣodbhāvanaṃ nāma nigrahasthānaṃ utthāpyate | (3) kathamiti cet-ucyate | āśrayadṛṣṭāntādau pramāṇābhāva iti sādhyamadhyavasitam | avastuni pramāṇāpravṛtteriti heturāveditaḥ | pramāṇapravṛttāvalīkatvānupa(4)patteriti svābhiprāyeṇa upapattiḥ pratipāditā tathā cāśraye 'vaṣṭambhakapratipanne pramāṇena pramāṇāpravṛttilakṣaṇadharmasya dharmidharmmatvāvarodhe ca niṣpa-(5)-nne kathaṃ nāśrayādyasiddhibodhaḥ | atha nāstyeva asiddhyādidoṣa parapramāṇasyāpyasiddhayā sādhanādau na sannidhānaṃ labdhavyamityāpātam | tathā ca tatpramā(6) ṇamevāpavādadaridratvāt | tataśca yattvayādūṣaṇamuktaṃ tatra dūṣaṇamiti adoṣodbhāvanaṃ nāma nigrahasthānamatastayorekataravādinirākaraṇāntā paryavasāna (7) mānītaivakatheti kiṃ paraṃ nirarthakavikalpatrayeṇa bhavitavyam | tathā hi kiṃ pramāṇamupadarśitaṃ bhavediti pramāṇamevāpadarśitaṃ nirdoṣatā visphuraṇāt svasādhanasya paroktāva-(8)-dyasya svavacanavicalanā bhrāntatvāt | avyavahārapratiṣedhavyavahārakhaṇḍanāpi svavāgbādhitavyavahārapratiṣedhasannidhānāyakā vastudharmmidharmasya ca pramāṇatvāt prativādinaḥ na (9) ca vyavahāraniṣedhavyavahāraheturapahastito haste 'nyastaśca vyavahārapratiṣedhavyavahāra iti hṛdayaṅgamaṃ janaṅgamasyāpi vyāpakānupalambhena vyāpyābhāvavyavahāraṃ vyavahārataḥ sudūramapakṛṣṭaprāmāṇikavyavahārāvaśyamaṅgīkaraṇam | yatpunaruktaṃ nahi virodhasahastreṇāpītyādi tadapi svavacanavirodhānuruddhamavadhāryam | nitye 'vastuni pramāṇamupadarśayitu-(2) maśakyaṃ pratyakṣamanumānamiti kiṃ tvayā pratipannaṃ apratipannaṃ vā | pratipattirapi kiṃ pramāṇena apramāṇena vā | pramāṇena pratipatrau svavacanavyāghātaḥ | apramāṇena tu pratipattiraprāmā(3)ṇikasyaiveti mahatī vikṛtiḥ | na cāyaṃ bhautakalaha pramāṇasyavyāpakānupalambhasyaṃ darśitatvāt | dvitīyastviṣyata iti cāntarbhūtvā bhāsate janaḥ prāmāṇikaśceti avastuni vyavahāra-(4)-pratiṣedhavyavahārakhaṇḍanā kutaścetibruvantaḥ eva viśiṣṭa viṣayavyavahārapratiṣedhavyavahārakhaṇḍenāśabdenaiva tadviṣayapramāṇāpravṛtyā tadviṣayatvamuktasādhyasya duḥsamādhānam | avastuni (5) vyavahārapratiṣedhavyavahārakhaṇḍanāśabdavācyavyavahārapratiṣedhavyavahārapratiṣedhasamādhāne vā svavāgbādhā sannidhānaṃ āpadyante | prakṛtavādanidhanāvadyakaramiti kṛtārtho 'nu-(6)-palambhavādī niyatavyastatvāt prativādinaḥ | 'kiṃ kumo yatra vacanaṃ sarvathaivetyādi' yaduktaṃ tadapi svavacanaviruddhamanuruddhamanubaddhaṃ anupravartate | etadbhayādabhagatau vā kiñcidapratibhā-(7)-vānubhāskaraprabhāvānābhibhavabhūmirmavyasthāpīti nitarāṃ nistīrṇavyasanāntarovādī | tathāhi vyāpakānupalambhe punaḥ samutthāpyante prativādinī dūṣaṇā duṣkare 'bhāṣaṇabhāvabhājibhūte parāja-(8)-yabhūmirapratibhābhāvataḥ prabhevabhāsvataḥsādhujananiveśitaṃ sādhanaṃ prasādhanamevodyotayatīti labdha eva kathāvadhiḥ | svavāgābādhato vimyat vibhyacca pratibhākṣayāt | abruvan avibruvan (9) vāpi vādī bhavati bhartsitaḥ || yatpunaḥ svabhāṣābhaṅgibhirasaṅgatābhiraṅgīkaroti vyavahāraṃ na coktāvadyaṃ śrutisabhyaḥ praspandaṃ girāmityudbhaṇati | satyaṃ yathāprāmāṇikaḥ svavacanavi(10)ruddho 'rtha' ityādi tadapi śūnyasaṃśanaṃ praṃsanāpātram | svavacanaviraudhaviruddhatayaiva nātiprasakto vyavahārapratiṣedhavyavahāraḥ na punaḥ sa tathābhūto mā bhūdityayaṃ vyavahāro 'smākamanumataḥ kintarhi tadvyāpakavirahāt vyāpyaviraho vibhāgataḥ pramāṇānugataśca vyāpyavyāpakabhāvasvapramāṇasiddhatvāt tadvirahitasya cāvastusato dharmmiṇaḥ pratipannatvāt(2) asato 'tyadhikaraṇādivivakṣārūḍhakārakakalāsaṃkrāntakalevaratvātkathamaparathā sthūlaskhalitasvavacanabādhāvāruddhā vṛthānyāyavinmānino naiyāyikāḥ svavacanabādhehi svavacanaṃpramāṇaṃ bādhakaṃ ḍhaukitam | ataḥ kathamayamaprāmāṇikaḥ kathita iti ślathaya śūnyagranthigranthanārthitvam | tathā ca aprāmāṇikaḥ svavacanabādho 'bhyupagamyayamānopi tvayā svavāgbādhatvaṃ na jahāti nānumānaṃ pramāṇamiti-(4)-vit yadi tvabhyupagamādevādoṣatvamevamanyatrāpi astu avastuviṣaye 'siddhatvamabhyu pagacchāma iti vayamapi vadiṣyāmaḥ utpattyāpi jalpavitaṇḍe 'pi kathyata iti tatpakṣāpekṣayā (5) vivakṣitodoṣaḥ kṣipyate | pakṣādiṣupramāṇapraśnamātrapravṛttasyetyādi, pramāṇaṃ pṛcchatā tena jalpakena jayātmanā | avastvācārasamārabdhaṃ pṛṣṭaṃ tacca na siddhyati || vikalpena tu tatsiddhau (6) praśnapraṇayaṇe kṛte | kṛtāvakāśo hetuḥsyāt maulaḥ sādhuḥ vijṛmbhitaḥ || avastudharmī kutaḥ pramāṇāt prasiddhamiti bruvanneva avastudharminiṣṭhapramāṇapraśnaḥ tadasiddhau pramāṇataḥ (7) prāptānavakāśaḥ kāśatalalavaladhīyāniti kathaṃ na svavacanapratihataḥ | tathāhi viśeṣaviṣayapramāṇapraśnāt viśeṣaḥ siddhaḥ tadasiddhau tadviṣayavimarśāyogāt | siddhyabhyupagamevā ye-(8)-naiva vacasā paramacarodhvamadhurastenaiva svapakṣaṃ kṣiṇotīti kṣīṇaḥ kathaṃjalpavitaṇḍayorapi svavacanavyādhātaḥ | tadevaṃ bauddhena vyāpakānupalamme vyāpyābhāvārthamupanyaste kasyā-(9)mapi svavāgjarjarit jayo jāyate | na bhāṣate cet apratibhāṃ bhūribhūmimābhajatīti kṛtaṃ kāyavratena sabinaiva nyāyena avastvapi dharmisvānurūpadha-(10)-rmāpekṣayā svānurūpanirūpaṇaniṣṭhitaniḥ śeṣanijadharmaviṣaya iti abhyupagamyatām | ayaṃ sabhyāḥ tathāhi jīvati śarīre kṣetrajña saṃjñā upameyameyajñāpanāṅga prāmāṇadimatvaṃ nyastam | kevalavyatirekakīrtitavikramaḥ śrāvaṇatvasamaṃ mābhūditi sapakṣe tara syādeva vyāvṛttamiti varṇanīyatāsapakṣe(2)-satvamasyāpadyateti mṛṣodyaṃ vidyoteta | kevalavyatirekatvamasyeti pramuṣitamanḥparitoṣatayā sapakṣasyāvidyamānatvāt | tasminnasya sattvamaśastamupanyastamapahastanīyamitice-(3)-tayamānaḥ | kiṃ sadbhāva bhaṃgenāsadbhūte prāṇādimattvasya sapakṣe sadbhāvavipakṣaṃ lakṣayati na cettarhi sadbhāvāsadbhāvaniṣedhavyavahāropi niṣedhavyavahāra eveti nivṛttiḥ kiṃ niṣidhyate | prā-(4)-ṇādimattvaṃ sapakṣasya vidyamānattvāt | na nivṛttamapādānatvasyābhāvāditi | sa eṣa vyavahāro naiyāyikasya vyatirekihetupratihatipratyūhananidāno dīpyate | na bauddhaprārabdhavirodhānurodhā-(5)-danubaddha iti bhaṇa guṇamayamanoharanītiṃ pramāṇapraharaṇasya kāñcit | yayā sapakṣo vikṣobhitavipakṣaprasaraḥ prekṣyairūpalakṣyate siddhadharmitayā tadāśritaścāyamavidyamā-(6) nattvaṃ nāma pakṣadharmatādhyastaṃ syāt | syāccāsyāpyanvayādyanuśaraṇamaṇīyasāpyaṃśitvaramaṇīyaṃ yadavidyamānaṃ na tacchaktisamākhyātakāranibandhanasuvarṇādipadaprāsāda-(7) dhavaladakṣam, tadyathāntarikṣabalakṣajalajajālam | akālajaladharadhīradhvānaṃ nedānīṃ vyāyanītinipuṇaprasādhyamārabdhaprameyabodhopāyamanapāyamāpadeṣābhāvaprameyadarśamu-(8)-tkarṣitaroṣā parāpatati | asmādavismayaveśmāpraviśya praguṇopāyaṃ mānapratipīpadaḥ prasādhakaṃ viśeṣaṇaṃ manasi ha prāptakālamavā(2)lasya pramāṇavyāpārasparśanena tatra kama bhāṇīt guṇīguṇaḥ bahubādhāvidhopi tarkopaniṣadanavadyavidyācāryakīrti(dharmakīrti) kīrtipramāṇavyāpāraparipālanamiha nidānaṃ mudaḥ prāmāṇikam (3) asti ca abhāvavibhāvanāvibhuḥ prabhutapramāṇavyāpāraḥ pīrasphuṭā pi paṭubhirapi nāraṭitaḥ pratyarthijanābhyarthanayā niḥpramathanaṃ kathyate | rūpābhāvādabhāvasya śabdorūpābhidhāyinaḥ | (4) na śakyā eva siddhāste vyavacchedasya vācakāḥ || abhāvapramāṇavedyo 'bhāva iti bhaṭṭabhāvamabhibhūya viśeṣaṇaviśeṣyabhāvabhāvasannikṛṣṭābhāvamakṣajapratyaya-(5)-pratyājyaṃ taccāsyākṣapā damatam | tatparicchinatti tato 'nyadvyavacchinatti tṛtīyaprakārābhāvañca sūcayatītyekapramāṇavyāpāra eṣa iti narasiṃha siṃhāsanārūḍha prau-(6)-ḍhaprāmāṇikacakracūḍāmaṇivacanaratnaṃ yatsataḥ śrūyatām | atra hi prasaṅgaviparyayanirvāheṇa pūrvāparāvasthayorvyavasthāpito vastubhedaḥ sa evānityatā śabdavācyatā (7) tathā ca svabhāvādavasthyamanityatāṃ vrūma iti vacanam | sa cāntaraṃ prāgabhāvaṃ pradhvaṃsaṃ ca sāmākhyāto vastubhedaḥ prasiddhyati yena pramāṇena kṣaṇaparyavasānabhajanabhāvena kṣaṇa-(8)-bhaṅgabhāṣayā bhaṇitaḥ tenaiva tadviparītamapi nityatvamakṣaṇikatvaṃ ca (6)'rthahetuścetyupalakṣaṇāt kinnākhyāyate | atha prasādhakapramāṇasambhavādityuttaramatrāpi samānam | pramāṇastu na pañjaritabhāvāvikalpajāla-(7)-manalasāḥ paśyantaḥ śabdayoniḥ vikalpo vikalpayoniśca śabda iti saṃketavyavahārakālamilitānāvilavikalpajāladurjaṭitavidhipratiṣedhavaddhacakṣubandhutvā(8)sta (tta) tvānusāriṇaḥ sarve parinirvṛtāḥ kimaparaṃ parāmarśaprasaraste taniṣyati | eka pratyavamarśākhye jñāne ekatra hi sthitaḥ || prapattā tadataddhetūrthān vibhajate svayam(9) tadbuddhivartino bhāvān bhāto hetutayā dhiyaḥ || aheturūpavikalānekarūpāniva svayam | bhedena prati pyetetyuktirbhede niyujyate || iti sakala puroktāvadya pra-(10)-cchādanapūrvaikasaṅketakaraṇanyāyaḥ | ekapratyavamūlajanananidānamapi darśitaḥ | eka pratyavamarśārthajñānādyekārthasādhane | bhede 'pi niyatāḥ kecit svabhāvenendriyādivat || ityetena pratisandhānamapi sabāhyābhyantarabhāvayoratadvyāvṛttaikārthakriyākāritvalakṣaṇaikatvaviṣayaṃ tadevaṃ bandhyāsutaśabdenātyantābhāva ucyate | (2) tatproktanyāyasamānatvāt | śiraso 'vayavā nimnā vṛddhikāṭhinyavarjitāḥ | śaśaśṛṃgādirūpeṇa so 'tyantābhāva iṣyate || tadvadidamapi vaditavyam- vandhyāyā udaraṃ nimnaṃ vṛddhi-(3)-kāṭhinyavarjitam | vandhyāsutādirūpeṇa so 'tyantābhāva ucyate || yādṛśyabhāvavādena tādṛśīvāsanāvaśāt | buddhirutpadyate tatra nānyo 'syāpratītatā || yādṛśī śemuṣī paramā (4)rthastadabhāvavāde tādṛśī cedākāraviśeṣaśālinī, avidyānubhavavāsanāvāde tadā svasvabhāvamadhyamagnatayā parasparaparicayacyuticarcāṃ cārūccāryate | pratiniyatatvārū-(5)-patvādeva cābhāvākāra niścayasya vyavahārāṅgatā | yathā saṃsāraḥ tathā na tadabhāvalakṣaṇo mokṣaḥ praṇidhātā sātānubhavanabhavanamiti bhavyavyavahāriṇāṃ pa-(6)-ddhatiranurudhyatām | yaccoktam-ghaṭastāvatsvābhāvavirahasvabhāvaḥ pramāṇasiddhatādrūpyeṇa kadācidapyanupalambhāt | etāvataiva tadabhāvo 'pi ghātaviraharūpaḥ siddha iti (7) ceta na ghaṭābhāvasya tadabhāvavirahasvabhāvatvānabhyupagamāt | na cānyasvabhāvepramāṇagocare tadanyopi siddhaḥ syādatiprasaṅgāt | evaṃ bhūtāveva ghaṭatadabhāvau (8) yadekasya paricchittirevāparasya vyavacchittiriticeta | na cānyasya svabhāve ghaṭavat ghaṭābhāvasyāpi prāmāṇikatvānabhyupagame svabhāvādanavakāśāt pramāṇasiddhevahi (9) svābhāvāvalambanaṃ na tu svabhāvavādāvalambane naiva vastusthitiriti bhavatāmevāyaṃ tatra tatra jayadundubhiriti tadapi bhagnagrahavādimukhasukhavādanaṃ bhavato na te svabhāvālambanamavalambanavāsināpyetatkṛtam ghaṭaḥ paricchetavyo na vā ādye sāvadharaṇo 'nyathā vā, ghaṭa evāyaṃ nānyathā sthāpanīya iti cetparicchedaḥ tarhi karṣita eva pramāṇadvayāvegaḥ (2) atha na tathā tathāpi ghaṭaḥ paricchinno paṭa iti tadarthī nopasarpyedantikamasya na kim | taduktaṃ na hyayamanalaṃ paśyan analameva paśyati | iti kathaṃ yena salilārthī tatra na pravartete tyādi | tasmātprati-(3)-niyatapadārthānubhava evānvayavyatirekakalpanasya bījamityucyate | na tu svabhāvālambanavyavadhibodhānurodhaḥ | ekopalambhānubhavādidaṃ nopalabhe iti | buddherupalabhe veti (4) kalpikāyāḥ samudbhavaḥ || eṣaiva tatra sāmagrī yadutaikopalambhanāt | anyayavyatirekābhyāṃ vikalpayugalaṃ bhavet || dṛṣṭatvādevameveti niḥśaṃkita samādhayaḥ | paroktivitathālāpairna (5) śakyante vināśasyāhetu katvasiddhekṣaṇabhaṅgaḥ na vikalpānupapatreḥ | taddhi tādātmyaṃ vā (2) nirupākhyatvaṃ vā tatkāryatvaṃ vā abhāvatvameveti vā sthitā vikalpā niṣedhyaniṣedhakayorekatvānupapatteḥ | nādyaḥ-upapattau vā viśvasya vaiśvarūpyānupapatteḥ | nanu kālāntare (3)'rthakriyāṃ pratyaśaktirevāsya, nāstitā sā ca kālāntare samarthetaratvabhāvatvameveti cet-nanvayameva kṣaṇabhaṅgaḥ tathā cāsiddhamevāsiddhena sādhayataḥ kaste pratimallaḥ | api ca deśā-(4)-ntarakālāntarānuṣaṅgiṇyasya nāstitā yadyayameva nūnamanakṣaramidamuktam, 'yadayameva deśāntarakālantarānuṣaṅgīti | yadi vā svadeśakālavat kālāntaradeśāntarayorapi nāstitāna-(5) nuṣaṃge 'stitvaprasaṃgaḥ | aśakteḥ kathamastu śakteḥ sattālakṣaṇatvāditi cet-atha ki kālāntarakāryaṃ prati svakāle 'śaktirasattvam | kiṃvā pratibaddha iti tataḥ prastute 'pi vastunisvahastasthāpitaṃ nyāyī vihasto vahistokagopālāditaḥ | ko nāma nyāyanyāsamīdṛśamanalasaḥ samāśrayate | svahetuta eva te nimīlitavinaśvarasvabhāvo bhāvaḥ pratiniyatakālāyogaphalitaḥ prathamavaṃśaprabhavaprabhāvavanmudgaraguruprahārānehasi ghaṭakoṭiśakapālapatalamapahāya vilocanavicayenāpi (5) nirūpayatā vināśanāmno 'rthasyāvalokanāt tathā ca | svabhāvasaṃsiddhā pṛthagātmavthavasthitiḥ | svīkṛtairaparaṃ pīḍā vādināṃ mahatī hṛdi | vinaśyatīti vināśaḥ kartari bahulaṃ (7) vacanāt ghañ kṛtvāha tat hetvantarau jananahetusamutpattitaḥ vinaśvaratvaḥ padārthaḥ prajñapyate | vinaśanaṃ vināśa ityabhisandhāya punarasamarthasamāsaṃ samāveśaya-(8)-ti | na bhāvo bhavatītyuktamabhāvo bhavatītyapītyādinā kriyāpratiṣedhamātraṃ kriyā iti tathaiva pramāṇa pravṛtteḥ | astvayaṃ āyuṣmān | bhāvaḥ | dhvaṃsena vidhvastasamastārtha-(9)-kriyā ityavocadvācaspati sa evānarthanyāyasya nyāyasya vyākhyātā ākhyātavyaḥ kimīdṛśamākhyā tava āsīt | dhvaṃso vastuvidherbalāt parighavat yadvā yathā śarkarā, bhāvo 'sau tadavastha eva tu na yatkiñcitkarāstasya te || vyāpārāviratistataḥ kṣaṇinaye tattvādavarndhya katham, deśākāravadasya hetuniyataḥ (2) kālo 'pi yatmānmataḥ || 'pradhvaṃsena vināśajanmanimate tenāpi nāśāntaro- tpāde nāśa parampareti vibhavedbhāvaḥ kadācinna saḥ | na dhvaṃsādaparā nivṛttiriti (3) cedanyo 'nyanāśaḥ katham, tasmin vastuvilokanāditi na sannāśādṛśaḥ khyāpanāt || 'yadi ca tasminsamati vastvadarśanāt dhvaṃsākhya vastunibṛttirucyate, tadā- nāśo mudgara (4) eva vastu śakalānyevāthaveti mitrapādairuktaṃ prasaṅgataḥ vyavahartavyarupāyāstu nivṛtterdeśakālākārādhārā ca vāriṇānurodho vyavahāraka pratiniya-(5) tapratibhāsatadviviktārthāntaradarśanākhyānupalambhanaprabhava vikalpātalpaśāyitayā tena tucchasya kīdṛśaṃ janmetyādi galapallavaprayāsaḥ phale phala (6) ruhetaḥ | tasmātpracyutimātrakaṃ vyavahṛteḥ pātraṃ prasajyāhvaya bhūyo 'rthasya virudhyate na tu janistasyeti ki hetunā | rodhādeva sakṛnna tadvyavahṛtirhetu kṣayānnodayo | rodhastātvika eva tāttvikamithaḥ svābhāvyabhaṅgasthiteḥ tasmādyo ho samagrātmā hetuḥ sa svakāryamupārjayan naśvarabhāvālaṅkṛtamupārjayati niyatānehaskamasya punarapara(4) smānnivṛttidharmā svabhāvo na janmahetoriti | nāśanaṃ janayitvānyaṃ sa hetustasya nāśakaḥ | tameva naśvaraṃ bhāvaṃ janayedyadi kiṃ bhavet || kṣaṇamapyanapekṣatve bhāvo bhāvasya neti cet tāvadvyavahārāvalambanamastīti cet naitadevaṃ yadi tantumāleva paṭanivṛttiḥ | tarhi kathaṃ tathāśrayastadātmako vā paṭaḥ prāk anyaivāsāviti cetanatāvajjā (7) tikṛtmanyatvamupalabhyate vyaktikṛtaṃ tu nādyāpi siddhayatītyādi yat sphaṭikākṛtasya maṭhasya hastavitastiparimitabhāgabhāvanātaḥ svaghaṭitasandhi-bandhanaghaṭavighaṭanaprakaṭanapaṭuranyatkaṭakapāṭavopi sphuṭaṃ sphurati | kāsmānnadṛśyata ityādi padārthāntarasyābhāvasaṃjñākaraṇaṃ vā, (9) lokavyavahārasammatyā vā, pramāṇapravṛtyā vā, maheśvarasamīhāhetuprahitaprabhāvādvā, ātmecchānucaratvādvā bhāvānāṃ bhāvānāṃ bhartsitaṃ sarvatra ca sudarśanaḥ samādhiriti kimayaṃ caurārcanamiva pracapalapadaspandasamandarpyamapasarpya | 'tatkālasatvaṃ cettarhi tadabhāvo jāta ityādi bhāṣayā, tasmāt | ahetutvādvināśasya svabhāvādanubandhitā | sāpekṣāṇāṃ hi bhāvānāṃ nāvaśyambhāvinekṣyate || bāhulyepihi taddhetorbhavetkvacidasambhavaḥ | yadyapi ca kṣaṇāni vināśakāraṇakāraṇāni santi, teṣāmapi svapratyayādhīnasannidhitvānnāvaśyaṃ sannidhānamiti mahī-(3)-madhīdhārādiṣu kaścinna vinaśyedapi niyamānavadhāraṇameva hi vyabhicāracamatkāraścetasi vicāracakrasya | ata evāha- etena atādātmyādatatkāra-(8)ṇatvāccetyādi, tādātmyaṃ tadekakāraṇasambhavaśca pratipādyate sma samanantarameva, na vā bhāvatvādabhāvo na kriyata iti kaścidāha | kiṃ tarhi prasajyaparyudāsovābhāva prarūḍhe samapauḍhakatve 'pi ghaṭasphaṭikapratyabhijñayā na bhidyate sambandhabhāvatvāt | samasvabhāvatvamasiddhamavabuddhaṃ viruddhadharmāsaṃsṛṣṭaviṣayatvena ghaṭasphaṭikaku-(4)-ṇḍakuṇḍalamaṇḍalamaṇḍanānusandhitvāndhānapi yo 'dhikatvāt baddhvā pracyuta viracāyīrti cet, na-pratyabhijñā sāmathyametat | siddhā vāśrayato 'nyo 'nyasaṃśrayadoṣo (5)na svaragītaphalocchvāsamaprāpta prāpyate sādhugītaṃ suṣṭugītaṃ labdhaṃ (9) gītasya te phalam | goputrā iva gāyanti sāmo dātumayaiḥ svaraiḥ || etenaitadapi piṣṭamaniṣṭam vivādādhyāsito bhāvaḥ kālabhedepi na bhidyate | viruddhadharmāsaṃsṛṣṭatvāt yo yadbhedepi viruddhadharmāsaṃsṛṣṭo nāsau tadbhedepi bhidyate | yathā pratisandhiparamāṇubhedepyekaḥ paramāṇustathā cāyaṃ vivādādhyāsito bhāvastamātkālabhede 'pi na bhidyate iti | atra vyāptau na kaścidapi vipratipadyeta | pakṣadharmatā te prasādhitaiveti sthiratāsthiratā bhāvārnām | tadanantaraprakaraṇanihatapakṣadha(3)rmatā siddhitvādasādhanamasādhanīyam | tadevaṃ sattvaṃ prāgabhāvapradhvaṃsābhāvamadhyamadhyāsīnasya bhāvasyāntarālabhede nisatvamavagamayitumalamutkalitānukūlaprasaṅga-(4)-tadviparyaparyavasitasapakṣatve kvacidbījādau darśitasvasādhyapratibandhamiti prabandhena prasādhitaṃ sādhīyaḥ sudhībhiravadhāryamiti sthitam | pūrvasarvanyāyasanyāsamāśri-(5)-tya laghuparalaṅghana jaṃghālahetuhatiṃ prahiṇumaḥ | yadyasya yatravyavaharaṇakāraṇamapasaraṇaparācīnatayā cintitaṃ tatra tasya vyavaharaṇakāraṇajananīyaṃ nī-(6)-latā vyavaharaṇakāraṇanīli | bhavati tadvayavaharaṇavat | nīraje pūrvāparakālayaurapikaraṇākaraṇaviruddhadharmākhyānau bījabhede vyavaharaṇakāraṇa (7) mapasaraṇaramaṇatvena mataḥ, tadatra karaṇākaraṇaṃ nāsiddhayā grastamadhyakṣaprekṣitatvāt, viruddhatā viśeṣagaṇapi pramathitapradūṣaṇagaṇaṃ prācīnapragalbhapraba-(8)-ndhatvena nāpyanaikāntikatvaṃ antikamasya gantuṃ santanoti sāmarthyam | anyavyatirekapratyākalanayā hi kāraṇatvaṃ kiñcidapi pratiparyālocanīyamu(1) pāyāntarātarkaṇāt | ayameva bhedo bheda heturvvā yaduta viruddhadharmādhyāsastasya janananibandhanañca sāmagrīlakṣaṇakāraṇasājātyavijātyaparyava sitau bheda iti abhidadhānena cācāryacaraṇena pratidarśanaṃ darśitadikkālādiguṇadravyavyāyāvyayādibhedavyavahārahetuhastakatvāt nyastau viruddhadharmādhyāso vastusvabhāvanānātve nibandhanasamastavādivyāptyavyāptiprasarānākrāntapauruṣasato 'yamevabheda i-(2)-ti vyavasthāne sthirastadvyavaharaṇeṃ kāraṇaṃkalpanāropitadharmāṇāmapi bhedo viruddhadharmādhyāsalakṣaṇa evetyavyāptirasambhāvinī, nacobhedepi vimṛśyate kvā-(3)-pi viruddhadharmādhyāsa ityativyāptivyastirasti virodhabodho bahudhā bahuṣviti na sambhavaviparyayo hṛdi dheyaḥ | na ca viruddhadharmadvayabhedānupapattistatrāpi nityasa-(4)-māṃ jātirītyā viruddhau padārtho vyudasya nānyo dharmonāma kintarhi dharmāntarapratikṣepākṣepābhyāṃ dharmmadharmmivyapadeśepi na vastubhedastenānavasthā (15) na manasi niveśyā yathākalpanamasya sambhavāt | yatpunaruktam-bhedo hi virodhaṃ vyabhicarati, na virodhau bhedamiti tatpāramārthikāpāramārthikabhedabha-(6) ṇyābhāṣitaṃ viruddhatāhetoḥ savidhasambandhanibandhasambandhāvyāptisiddhau hi sapakṣe pakṣapātī viruddho nopalabdhaḥ bhedavyavahārajñāpakahetuśca prati (7) bhāsa bhedaḥ | dvitoyopi prayogaḥ-sa evāyamiti parāmarśaḥ so 'sadṛśaparāvṛttapadārthadhyavasānavyāpāraḥ, yathā keśapāśe cchinnodbhinne sa evāyamiti parāmarśasya vivādapade ghaṭādau atyantasadṛśe sa evāyamiti mandasādṛśye sa iveti prakaraṇavaśāt atyantasādṛśya-(9)-mihopāttaṃ jātyekatve dīpādau pratyabhijñeti vadatātadvyāvṛttiviṣayā syātprakāśitā, yadyatītena saha vartamānasya ekatvaṃ nāsti kartha citpūrva paścāddṛṣṭārtha kriyā bhavati | na | yathā ghaṭamekaṃ vighaṭaghaṭāṅkurāropaṇe prekṣate yathā sādhanahetubhirityapakṛtam | ekamiti hi vyapadeśavikalpāstadarthasāmarthyamā-(3)-treṇa samaṅgīsajātayo na punarartharadritasāmānyadyarthasāmānyadyarthaviṣayā vyapadeśavikalpāḥ prekṣāvadbhirādriyante tatastādṛgarthakriyākāritayaikatvaṃ pratyabhijñānaviṣayaḥ tasmādyā (4) pratyabhijñā sā tadarthakriyākārivyāvṛtta sadṛśārthakriyāsamarthaviṣayāḥ yathā ghaṭānayane 'pi itarābhiprāyeṇa anyamānayeti niyoge ghaṭāntarānayane punaḥ-(5)-sa evānīta iti pratyabhijñā | pratyabhijñā ceyaṃ sa evāyaṃ ghaṭa iti ājanmanaḥ praṇāśāvadhipratibhāsaprasavaprasaṅgaḥ, pratikṣaṇaṃ kṣaṇabhaṅge sati bhāvasya bhavedata-(6)-viparyaye bādhakaṃ asti ca pratibhāsaḥ prāgabhāvapradhvaṃsābhāvayormadhyārūḍhasya vastutaḥ pūrvāparakālakalatātikrāntaḥ | saḥ krāntaniścayo nikhilavastu (7) sujanānubhavabhūmiḥ | ataeva sthavīyasi svabhāve bhāvānāṃ kālaniyamau'pi siddhaḥ | atadrūparāvṛttiviṣayastvekatvādhyavasāyonāvasthābhāvamākarṣati pratyayabhijñā (8) tantu sāṃvṛtaikatvaṃ vyavahārayati | paravyāmohāpanayanena yathādṛśyānupalabdhibalimahilāgopālādigamye 'pi pratiṣedhe śaṅkayaṃ lakṣyīkṛtya vyāmohaśuddhatantraṃ (9) prakṣipyate | ḥtadatyantavimūḍhārthaṃ āgovālādimasaṃvṛteḥḥ iti vacanāt | jhānaṃ tvarthāvabhāsataḥ | taṃ vyanaktīti kathyeta tadabhāve 'pi tatkṛtam || tathā dukūlanīlanalina-(10)-dalāvalivalimadhyapramadānandimandirakundasindūrārtha valabhīprabhṛtīnāṃ madhyāvasthākhya grāhyākāravedanāvṛtyaikaṃ pratisaṃdhātārameva bhāṣitaṃ sakṛdatra pratibhātīti pāścātyānuvyavaśāyavaśena sphuraṇañca pūrvānubhūtasya grāhakākārasya atadrūpaparāvṛttaviṣayaikavimarśavaśena vyāptyādikañca parikalpitādrūpa (2) parāvttavastustomākāreṇa kṣaṇakṣīṇatānukūlamilitavinyāseneti na kvāpyaṃśe śaṃśanīyadoṣamanityatāsādhanamava dhātavyaṃ bhavyabhāvena tathā- vajropalādirapyathaṃḥ (3) sthiraḥ so 'nyānapekṣaṇāt | sakṛtsarvasya janayejjñānāni jagataḥ samam || kramādbhavanti tānyasya sahakāryupakārataḥ | āhuḥ pratikṣaṇaṃ bhedaṃ sadoṣo 'trāpi pūrvavat || (4) ityādyapi yathā prastāvamapahastitrāsamupanyasanīyam | yatpunarucyate kāladidravyaguṇakarmādikamantareṇa na kaścit vyapadeśastaṃ cāntareṇa na vacanaṃ tasmādvacanādeva kāladikamastīti kṣaṇikatāsiddhiriti, tadapi nirasyate, kālaḥ parāparavyatikarayaugapadyāyaugapadyacirakṣiprapatyayaliṅgaḥ teṣāṃ viṣayeṣu (9) pūrvapratyayavilakṣaṇānāmutṣattāvanyanimittāsaṃbhavāt | yadatra nimittaṃ sa kālaḥ yatraivāparapratyayodigapekṣayā tatraivaparapratyayaḥ kālakṛtaḥ ya-(7)-trai va ca parapratyayo digapekṣayā tatraivāparapratyaya kāla kṛta iti vyatikaraḥ śleṣaḥ | yugapadetāni kṛtāni krameṇa ca etāni kṛtāni | ciraṃ kṛtaṃ kṣipraṃ kṛtamiti na rūpādyatireke kāle pratyakṣāpravṛttaḥ mandatā hi niṣpatteḥ kāraṇakrameṇa virodhaḥ, kramopi bhāvābhāvādeva bhāvasya na kālaḥ rāṃhoḥ śira itivat, punara-(9)-bhāvasyāyaṃ kāla iti vyapadeśaḥ- 'dṛṣṭatātītakālatvaṃ dṛśyatā vartamānatā bhāvitā dṛśyamāṇārcāmiti vyavasthitiḥ' | rūpamapi cakṣurvijñānajanakatvena evaṃ śa-(10)-bdādikamapi sve svendriyanidānadarśananibandhanatvena vedyam | dravyavyavasthāpi tatsamudāyasādhyaphalāhetuvyavacchedena darśitaiveti na tadāsti vyavaharaṇaṃ na yat pakṣe tad anityānubandhīti | udayananirākaraṇe vādarahasye vyatirekārthabhāvārdinyāyanirṇayo dvitīyaḥ | apohapratyūhavyūhanirāsaḥ tṛtīyo 'dhyāyaḥ ihāpohe pratyūhavyūho vyudasyate | iha jagati jāgrato jīvalokasya nīlavipulacalacetanīyanicūlanicayādau cakṣuṣo vikṣepādanantaraṃ nīlādisvalakṣaṇaniṣṭho (2) nirbhāsastadanusandhānadhīrasādhāraṇabodhapratibaddhanīlādīnirbhāsaśca niścīyate etacca dvayamapi nīlādiparicchedadakṣamakṣatamabhīkṣṇamabhilakṣyate | sārūpyavaśa-(3)-gā hi paricchedaśaktiḥ samvedanānāmasti cānayornīlabhirbhāsatā nīlanirṇayanibandhanaṃ tenobhayamapi bhayabhraṣṭaṃ nīlameva paricchinattīti sampratyayaḥ sāṃvya-(4)-vahārikalokasya | tattvatarkavitarkaviśrṛṅkhalāśrayastu vyākhyātā samaḥkhyātiprathamamavyapadeśyaṃ vyavasāyātmakamiti | prathamamālo-(5)canājñānaṃ nirvikalpakaṃ bālamūkādijñānaprakhyam, tataḥ paraṃ punarvastu dharmerjātyādibhiryayā buddhayāvasīyate sāpi pratyakṣatvena sammateti vikalpakamadhya(6)kṣaṃ jātyādiyojitajalajādivastuparicchede dīpyate | bauddhastvavadhayvasitavān, prathamameva pramāṇaṃ dvitīyantu smaraṇābhogādisāmagrījalpanārthāt (7) utpadyate netrādisamagrāt | kintarhi madhyāvasthālakṣaṇajñānagrāhyākārātsmaraṇābhogādisahitādaniṣṭhitamitīṣṭaṃ nirṇayanibandhanaṃ punaratranetranīlādyarthāpāye 'pi nīlākṣismaraṇasaṃkāntanīlādinirbhāsaḥ kutaḥ saṃbobhavīṃta | nārthāttasya niruddhatvāt | na jalāde vyāpyarūpādisvabhāvatvāt | idaṃ hyuktam- tacca sāmā- (2)-nyavijñānamanurundhanavibhāvyate | nīlādyākāraleśo yaḥ sa tasmin kena nirmitaḥ || śabdebhyo yādṛśī buddhirnaṣṭe 'naṣṭepi dṛśyate, tādṛśyeva sadarthānāṃ naitacchotrā (3) dicetasām || iti tathā yadapyanvayivijñānaṃ śabdavyaktyavabhāsiyat | varṇākṛtyakṣarākāraśūnyaṃ gotvaṃ hi varṇyate | dravyādyarūpādirūpam | idaṃ tu vikalpakaṃ nīlādyākṛtisākṣarākāraṃ ca sujñātamantarmātrādipari (4) vittirvirbhāvyate | tena na jātyādiparicchedadarpo dvitīyapratyayasya tatpratyanīkarūpādiḥ rūpatvāt | na hi yatra yasya pratibhāso 'saṃbhāvī sa tasya grāhakaḥ pratya-(5)-yasparśākāraśūnya iva rūpa samvedī na sparśasya | tathe damapi nīlādinirbhāsi na tatsvabhāvaśūnyajātyādisaṃvedi vyavasthāpyamāpadyate | tadetarayāṃ ve-(6)-danavivartamātrāyām | 'apohaḥ śabdaliṅgābhyāṃ prakāśyata iti lthitiḥ sādhyate sarvadharmāṇāmavācyatvaprasiddhaye, | iti sādhyatvamanūdyate | rahasyaṃ punaratra, yena nī-(7)-laṃ anīlāpohamparicchidyate pratyayena na tenaivāpohaviṣayatvamātmano vyavasthāpyate, kintarhi, pratyayāntareṇa bādhamātanvatā nīlasvakṣaṇavilakṣaṇatvādetannirbhāsasya | tenedaṃ paraprauḍhaśāstrakṛdbhirapitatpratyayamadhikṛtyocyamānaṃ na mānasasparśiprekṣasya kṣaṇikatvānupapattiścānugata vyavavahārānanyathā siddheḥ śabdaliṅgavikalpāhi sādhāraṇaṃ rūpamanupasthāpayanto na tṛṇakubjīkaraṇe 'pi samarthā ityavivādaṃ, bāhyārthasthitau sthirāsthiravicārāt | taccālīkaṃ vā, ākāro vā, bāhyaṃ vastu veti trayaḥ (2) pakṣāḥ | tatra na prathama pakṣaḥ taddhi tāvadanubhabādeva tathā vyavasthāpyaṃtasyālīkatvenānullekhāt | tathātve vā pravṛttivirodhāt | na hyalīkametadityanubhūyāpyarthakriyārthī pravartate (3) anyanivṛttisphuraṇṇānnaiṣa doṣa iti cet, etadevāsat vidhirūpasyaiva sphuraṇāt | nahi śabdaliṅgābhyāmiha mahīdharoddeśe 'nagni rna bhavatīti skuraṇamapi tvagnirastī-(4) ti | yadyapi nivṛttimahaṃ pratyaimītyādi | yasmādiha dharādharaviśmbharāyāṃ vibhāvasurastīti dhanañjayākāradhāritvādvodhasya tena bodhena dhanañjaya evāvabuddhaḥ | (5) tena vidhereva smaraṇāditi sammatamevāsmākam | alīkamiti tu loke 'prakāśabhṛdbādhyamalīkamāhuriti vacanāt | prakāśyamānaṃ bādhitamucyate | tatkimucyate na (6) tāvattenaivānubhave netyādi bhāṣāmapi tāvadabhyasya nirākāravādinā hi dravyavadekānekavicāracakranikṛttatayā nīlādyākārameva cetaścakramalīkamabhilapyate tadapi na svānubhavaprabhāvādapi tu bādhakabodhādhīnaṃtat | tathā nīla jalajākārākrāntameva svāntamanīlavyāvṛttirityucyate | vyatiriktāyāṃ nīlavyākṛttau tato vyā-(8) vartamānaṃ nīlamanīlameva miledanīlavatā apitu tasmāt- tatrāpi cānyavyāvṛttiranyavyāvṛtta ityapi | śabdāśca niścalāścaiva nimittamanurundhate || bhedāntarapratikṣepā prartikṣepau tayordvayoḥ | padaṃ saṃketabhedasya jñātṛvāṃcchānurodhataḥ || tatrāpyanyāpohe śabdārthena vyāvṛttiranyānya eva vyāvṛttestu vyāvṛttairnivartamānasya tadabhāvaprasaṅgāt | tathā ca (2) pravṛttera pyabhāvaḥ tasmādya eva vyāvṛtta sa eva vyāvṛttaśabdapravṛttibhedaśca rsaketabhedānuvācyabhedo 'sti | nanu ca vācyaviśeṣābhāvāt saṃketabhedo 'pyayuktaḥ dvayorekā (3) calanāt, tathā ca vyatirekiṇyā vibhakteraprayogaḥ tasyābhedāśrayatvāt | dvayorekābhidhāne 'pi vibhaktirvyatirekiṇī | bhinnamarthamivānveti vācyaleśaviśeṣataḥ || na vai śabdārtha kācidviṣayasvabhāvāyattā vuttirityato vṛttyabhāvaprasaṃgāt yathā vyatirikte 'vyatirikte vā prayoktumiṣyante tathā nirmuktāstamarthamapratibandhena prakāśayanti | tena gau rgau (5)tvamityekārthābhidhāne 'pi kasyacidviśeṣasya pratyayena virudhyate saṃketabhede vyatiriktārthā vibhaktirarthāntaramivādarśayantī pratibhātyanarthāntare 'pi tathā prayoga (6) darśanābhyāsāt | na tāvat sarvatra bhedaḥ anyatrāpi puruṣa iva tasya pratibandhābhāvāt | yathaikaṃ kvacidekatra cānena khyāpyate tadaviśeṣe 'pi gauravādi khyā- (7)-panārthaṃ bahuvacanena prayogābhāvāttu saṃketabhedo na syāt anyasyaiva, tathāhi bhedāntareṇa yadi bhaṇitasyārthaḥ yadāyaṃ pratipattā tadanyavyavacchedabhāvānapekṣaḥ (8) piṇḍaviśeṣe 'śvavyavacchedamātraṃ jijñāsate tathābhūtajñāpanāt tathā ca bhedasaṅketena śabdena bodhyate 'naśvatvamasyāstīti yadā punarvyavacchedāntaranirāṅkṣyastaṃjñā-(9)-tumicchati tadāparityakta vyavacchedāntaraṃ tamevāśvaparicchedāntaraṃ tamevāśvaparicchedaṃ tathā prakāśanāya pramucyate anaśvāyamiti | ata eva pūrvatra pratiṣṭhitapadāntaratvācchabdapravṛtterna samānādhikaraṇyaṃ viśeṣyabhāvo vā gotvamasya śuklamiti tanmātraviśeṣeṇa vuddhe stadāśrayabhūtāyā ekatvenāpratibhāsanāt | nirākāṃkṣatvācca dvitīye tu na bhavati | tathā saṃketavyavahāreṇa saṃketasakalavyacchedadharme vibhāgavat ekasya bahujanena pratibhāsanāt vyavacchedāntarasākāṃkṣatvācca | bhedo 'yameva sarvatra dravyabhāvābhidhāyinoḥ | śabdayo rna tayo rvvācyeviśeṣastena kaścana || tasmānna sarvatra dharmadharmivācinoḥ śabdayorvācye 'rthe niścayapratyayavirodhatvena kaścidviśeṣaḥ ekastameva pratyāyanapratikṣiptabhedāntaraḥ pratyāyati (3) anyau'pratikṣepeṇaityayaṃ viśeṣaḥ | jijñāpayiṣurartha taṃ taddhitena kṛtāpi vā | anyena vā yadi brūyāt bhedo nāsti tato 'paraḥ || etāvantameva ca bhedaṃ darśanaṃ śuddhistena....vāde jā-(4)-yeta pācakatvamiti kadā vā pāa iti anyena vā tathābhūtajñāpanāya svayaṃkṛtena samayena na punastathā mūtābhidhānamātreṇārthāntaramevaitadbhavati tathābhūtasyaiva jñā-(5)-panāya śabdasya kṛtasaṃketatvāt | na ca pācakatvamiti tathā ucyate, na pācaka eva atra pākena anya eva kaścitpācako nāmābhidhīyate pāka vicintyate | yat pu-(6)-narasyāmidheyaṃ tat kaścittaṃ taveva pācakatvenāpītyayam | nāstyekasamudāyo 'smādanekatve 'pi pūrvavat | aviśeṣādaṇuttbācca na gati (7) ścenna siddhayati | aviśeṣaḥ viśiṣṭānāmaindriyatvamato 'naṇuḥ | etenāvaraṇādīnāmabhāvaśca nirākṛtaḥ || saṃkhyāsaṃyogakarmāderapi tadvat svarūpataḥ | abhilāpācca (8) bhedena rūpaṃ vuddhau na bhāsate | āvaraṇaṃ hi paramāṇūnāṃ upalabdhaṃ, asaṃsargātkathamiti na yuktam | na hi avayavī pratiṣedhasādhāraṇaṃ kvāpi upalabdhaṃ yena tattvābhāve paramāṇuṣu na syāttathā pratighātādayaḥ | atha citratvātparamāṇūnāṃ saṃhateḥ syātpaṭādikam | kathamāvaraṇaṃ vā tasyātapasya jalasya vā || avayavaiḥ santyāgamantareṇa parimāṇuṣu ca (10) kevalā avyāhataparasparāntarānupradeśāḥ kathamāvaraṇatvāt jātasya vātra ucyate | asaṃsṛṣṭāḥ kathamavayavinaṃ jāyante saṃsargaśca naikadā tadabhāvāt na sarvātmanāṇumātrapiṇḍaprasaṅgāt saṃyogasya padārthāntarasya jananena cet tameva saṃyogaṃ sāntarāḥ kathaṃjayantīti samānaḥ prasaṅgaḥ | saṃsargaścet kiṃ saṃyogenāpare-(2)-ṇa tathā vāpi nā | atha sāntarā eva saṃyogamavayavinañca janayanti tathā satyavaraṇādikāryamapi kiṃna janayanti | vināpi paramāṇūnāṃ saṃsargāt saṃhatiḥ parā | āghāte 'pi pṛthagbhāvau (3)yasyāṃ naiva samasti saḥ || na khalu saṃyogaḥ pratibhāsate saṃyoge vyatiriktaḥ, kevalamasaṃyuktayoḥ sāvasthānopalabhyate tau punarupalabhyete tato 'nvayavyatirekābhyāṃ kalpa-(4)-nāmātrametaditi nirṇayaḥ | apratyakṣeṇa te tathābhūtaṃ sacaivaṃbhūtaṃ jātamiti pratītiḥ | tataḥ saivāvasthā pṛthagbhāvena jñāpyate saṃyoga iti | ataeva | śabdajñāne vikalpena vastubhedānusāriṇā | guṇādiṣviva kalpyārthe naṣṭājāteṣu vā tathā || na śabdajñānena vailakṣyamātrādeva padārthabhedo 'pitu pratyakṣalakṣaṇajñānabhedāt vikalpi-(6)-kāhi buddhiranādivāsanāsāmarthyādupajāyamānā tathā tathā plavate tato nārthatattvaṃ pratiṣṭhāṃ labhate | tathānvayavyatirekeṇa parikalpitaṃ bhedamāśritya saṃyogādibūddhayaḥ tataḥ parikalpitasyaiva cotpādanārthatatvasya kalpitārthabhedastu tīrthyāntaradarśanādapyupajāyate | tato 'pyarthatattvavyaksthāyāmanavasthā (8) tathā (8) tathābhyupagamanena parasparāpavādaḥ syāt | tato bhinnaśabdaḥ jñānañca vikalpite vastuni vāsanāyā anvayavyatirekābhyāṃ pravartate kiṃ bhūto 'sau vikalpo vastu-(9)-bhedānusārī vastūnāṃ bhedo vyāvṛttiratathābhūtāt | na vyāvṛttādanyā vyāvṛttiḥ tataḥ sa eva santānāpekṣayārthāntarabhedo bhedena pratibhāti vastubhedama-(10)-ntareṇa ca kalpanā bhedānugā gamyante, yathā eko guṇaḥ ekaḥ samavāyaścaturviśatiḥ guṇāḥ | mato yadyupacāro 'tra sa iṣṭo yannibaṃdhanaḥ | sa eva sarvabhāveṣu hetuḥ kinneṣyate tayoḥ || ājātāḥ putrā sthaviraṃ tāpayantītivat, atītājātayoryannibandhanamupacārasya niru-(2)-paṇānusmaraṇagṛhītatvena kṣaṇaṃ tadeva nimittamastu vartamānepi saṃyukto ghaṭa ityādāvapi || upacāro na sarvatra yadi bhinnaviśeṣaṇam | mukhyamityeva ca kuto 'bhinne bhinnārtha (3)teti cet || anarthāntarahetutve 'pyaparyāyaḥ sitādiṣu | saṃkhyādiyoginaḥ śabdāstatrāpyarthāntaraṃ yadi || guṇadravyāviśeṣaḥ syāt bhinno vyāvṛttibhedataḥ | syādanarthānta(4) ratve 'pyakarmādravyaśabdavat || nanūpacāro hi nāma mukhyanibandhanaḥ sa kathamasati mukhye bhavet | mukhyañca bhinnaviśeṣaṇaṃ daṇḍyādivat | abhinnaviśeṣa-(5)ṇatve maulī vyavasthitiḥ bhavatastu pūrvapūrvakalpanākṛtaviśeṣaṇayogādabhinnaviśeṣaṇatvenamukhyatvaṃ kvaciditi nopacārasaṃbhavaḥ | bhinnaviśe (5) ṣaṇaṃ mukhyamityeva kṛtaḥ | abhinnaviśeṣaṇamapi kalpanākṛtabhinnaviśeṣaṇamatyantābhyāsāt rūḍhimupagataṃ mukhyameva | buddhehaskhalitā vtti rmukhyāropita (7) yoḥ sadā siṃhe māṇavake tadvadghoṣaṇāpyasti laukikīṃ || iti vacanāt | askhalan gatipratyayaviṣayo hi mukhyaḥ tadaparastu gauṇa iti kinna paryāpyam | yadi viśeṣa-(8)-ṇamaparaṃ nāsti viśeṣyameva tarhi sarvatra vācyam | ityabhinnārthatā paryāyatā rūpābhedena sāmānādhikaraṇyaṃ bhinnaviṣayatve hi tadbhavati na buddhaya evahi sva vāsa-(9)-nānurodhādupajāyamānā bhedābhedasāmānādhikaraṇyādivyavahāramuparacayanti na paryāyatādiprasaṅgaḥ anarthāntaratve 'pi dṛśyante aparyāyā akarmmadravyam, adravyaṃ karmmeti prabhṛtayo vyapadeśāḥ | tatra kiṃ vyāvṛttibheda eva nibandhanaṃ nāparaḥ pravṛttinimittabhedaḥ gauḥ śuklo gauḥ śabdatvamiti | punaḥ vyatirekīva yaccāpi sūcyate bhāvavācibhiḥ | saṃkhyāditadvataḥ śabdaistaddharmāntarabhedakam || śrutistanmātrajijñāsoranākṣiptākhilāparā | bhinnadharmamivācaṣṭe vogo 'ṅgulyā iva kvacit || yuktāṅguloti sarveṣāmakṣipāt dharmivācinī | khyātaikārthābhidhāne 'pi tathāvihitasaṃsthitiḥ || gauriti tadekākāraparāmarśayogī sakala eva padārtha ucyate | śukla iti tadekadeśaḥ parāmarśāntarayoginī ca vartamānā vyatirekaśca anvayavyatire-(4)kābhyāṃ apovṛtaḥ | tatastasya gauḥ śuklo guṇa iti vyatirekavibhaktistadyathā ḥśilāputrakasya śarīraṃ rāhoḥ śiraḥḥ | yadā ca gavākārāvagrahau nāsti śuklatvameva kevalamupalabhya-(5)-te sambandhiviśeṣarahitam | tadā praśnayati kasyedaṃ śuklatvamiti tadāpūrvadarśanāt avadhṛtagosvabhāvo nirdiśati gauriti tādātmyasambandha evāsya vivakṣito-(6)-vyatirekastu kalpakapravalasya prathamaṃ niścayāt | yadā tu kevalenānena bhavitavyaṃ yadi nāma viśeṣopalakṣaṇamandatā mandalocanānāṃ tathāpi śuklenānena gavānyena bha-(7) vitavyamiti praśnayati | kī'yaṃ śuklo gauranyo veti tadā prativacanaṃ gauriti | samānādhikaraṇatayā tadantarbhāvenaiva praśnabhāvāt | tadanurūpameva prativacanaṃ mūkaṃ ayañca tattvārthaḥ | anvayavyatirekābhyāṃ vyatirekaviniścaye | viśeṣalakṣaṇābhāve kutaścit kāraṇādapi || ayaṃ śaklo ṇuṇo 'śvasya prativākyaṃ vipaścitāt | praśnasya vyatirekitvāt [9] tathaivetyatra niścayaḥ (nirṇayaḥ) yadā tvavyatirekeṇa viśeṣāntargame sati | pramāṇavṛttamālocya praśnaḥ praśnayiturbhavet || tadāviditatadbhāva uttaraṃ tādṛśeva saḥ | dātānyaprakra-[10]-masyātra naivāvasarasambhavaḥ | pratyakṣabhedamālocya khyāpyante vācyo 'pyanyo diśānayā || nanu samāsakṛttaddhiteṣu samvandhā-(4)-bhidhānamanyatra rūḍhi abhinnarūpā 'vyabhicarita sambandhebhyaḥ | yathā rājapuruṣatvaṃ kārakatvamaupagavatvamiti svasvāmisvakriyākārakāpatyāpatyavatsambandhāḥ | asyāpavādaḥ | (5) samāsādrūḍhātkṛṣṇasarpatvam, kṛtasamaratvaṃ taddhitāt hastitvam atra jātimātramucyate na sambandhaḥ taddhitādabhinnarūpācchuklatvaṃ pācakapācakatvayoreka evārtha iti cet na kriyāsamavāyayornirākṛtatvāt, kalpanākṛtabhede 'pi tādātmyākṣateḥ, kimanupapannaṃ nāma vyāvṛttivyāvṛttaśabdayorekārthatvena tenānyāpoha vi (8) ṣaye tadvatpakṣopavartalūnam | 'pratyākhyātaṃ pṛthaktvehi syāddoṣo jātiṃtaddhatoḥ' | taddhato na svatantratvāt asyāyamarthaḥ | evamiti sacchabdo jātisvarūṣamātropasarjanaṃ dravyamā (9) ha | na sākṣāditi tadbhūtadhaṭādibhedānākṣepāt | sa evātadbhedatve samānādhikaraṇyābhāva na hyasatyāṃ vyāptau sāmānādhikaraṇyamasti | tadyathā śuklaśabdena svābhidheyaguṇa (10) mātraviśiṣṭadravyābhidhānāt | satāmapi dravyamadhurādīnāmanākṣepastataścātadbhedatvamevamanyatrāpi prasaṅgaḥ | jātiśca svarūpañca śabdasya ca upasarjanaṃ dravyamuktaṃ na tadvat ghaṭādibhedastadubhayavyavadhinā ṣāratantryaṃ tataścana ghaṭatvāīnākṣipati | ghaṭatvayogācca, sattāśrayo ghaṭo bhavati | svataḥ yathā rūpaśabdenānākṣiptairmmadhurādibhinnasāmānādhikaraṇyaṃ śuklamambumiti tadvat pakṣopavandanaṃ tatpratyākhyātamityācāryavacanai bhāṣyakāra vyākhyāne ca pracarati | kathamayamanucitacintācamatkāritvāt samucitacetā ṇitavān | ḥna ca nivṛttimātrapratibhāse 'pi pravṛttisambhavaḥ, na hyaghaṭo nāstītyeva ghaṭārthī pravartate api ghaṭo 'stītyādiḥ yato 'ghaṭo nāstītyanyanivṛttirghaṭo vāstīti aghaṭādanyā ihāstīti aghaṭalakṣaṇā-(4)-nyavyāvṛtta ityeka evārthaḥ | vidhitvāt iti vivakṣitamevodyotitam | yato ghaṭa sārūpyasphuraṇādevaṃ taditaranirākaraṇaṃ, tadanupalambharūpatvā diti kathitamevaṃ prathamaṃ bādhakapratyayāduttarasamayasambhavinaḥ punastadalīkatvakalpanamekeṣām | yatpunarucyate-svarūpabheda e (8) vānyāpoho 'nyāpoḍharūpatvādvidhiriti cet na alauṃkapakṣe tadabhāvāt tasya svarūpavidhānavalīkatvaprasaṅgāt | svalakṣaṇasya vikalpānarohāditi-tadapyetena dūṣitam-(9) ghaṭasārūpyasphuraṇenāghaṭanivṛttasthūlamūlavastuvidhiravibhūta eva buddhayāpyavasīyate tadūrdhvaṃ dhvaṃsate bādhakāditi ko 'parādhaḥ prathamabodhasya ghaṭādikamidānīmevaṃvidhamadhyavasīyate, ityarthamabhisaṃdhāya vikalpe svalakṣaṇametat vyāvṛttamābhātīṃtyucyate | ubhayato vyāvṛttasya hitadekasmādapi tasya vyavacchedo 'stīti na hyanīlamutpalaṃ na bhavatīti bhaṇyate | tathā coktamḥ- yathoktaviparītaṃ yat tatsvalakṣaṇamucyate | sāmānyaṃ trividhaṃ tacca bhāvābhavobhayāśrayam || yadi bhāvāśrayaṃ jñānaṃ bhāvo bhāvānurodhataḥ | sphuraṇam | na cālīkamapyalīkatvena tenaiva jñānena gṛhyate, 'apramāṇāṇāmapi svārthe pramāṇamiva lakṣyate' iti nyāyāt | ubhayorāpi grāhakavikalpaāsthākāravilāsāt prakārāntatveṇāprathanām prathamā na rūpasambhavavācyakālpanikasyāpyaṃśa(8) bhāvasyāta eva na mūlo niṣṭhuranyāyakṣaṇaraprahāra pratyāśāparasya | anyopohalakṣaṇaśabdārthe jātidharmmāpi kalpyamānā ekatvanityatva nityatvapratyekaparisamāptatvalakṣaṇā vya-[9]-vatiṣṭhante | abhedāśrayā vicchedāt kaścārtha (tenārtha) pratīteśca | tathāhi | yāpyebhedānugā buddhiḥ kācidvastudvayekṣaṇe | saṃketena vināsārtha gopiṇḍamaṇḍalānāṃ khaṇḍamuṇḍādibhede 'pi vijātīyamātrābhinnārthapratīteḥ | padārthānāmeva dharmmaḥ sajātīyādapi viśeṣapratītau bheda pratītiriti vyavahāraḥ samastagopiṇḍamaṇḍalapradhvaṃsābhāvān, kālākalākalāpakalamānnityatvamapi vijātīyāpohapadārthasya sarvātmanā ca pratyekamanyāpoḍha (4) pratyaya ḍhaukanāt | pratyekaparisamāptiḥ sudṛḍhā alīkatvañca asya bādhakādhīnamiti, tadapekṣayāmi yadamunā pratītaṃ tadātadanyathākartumaśakyaṃ alīkakalpanayā vastupratibaddha(5) metat nabhavati pratyakṣapratibhāsavat, tadabhāve 'pi smaraṇavadasyotpatirityeva syāt, yatratu pratibaddhā vyavasāyaprasavastatra bhāvikatvamevālīkatve 'pyākārasyāpoḍhatva-(6)-sya bhāvepi bāhye bhāvāt anyopoḍhatvamevānugamaḥ, sa ca vāstavo 'pi samvādāt kālpaniko pi kalpanā buddhau vivartanāt | nahi vikalpārūḍhagrāhyākārapratibhāsādgahītaḥ sa āropita ucyate, yathā bāhyārthābhāve 'piṃ saṃnidhāne 'saṃnidhāne vā śītārthena vahniñcintitastatra vahnirubhayavyāvṛtto nāsti vijātīyavyāvṛttastvāsti cintā sā-(9)-rūpyavaśāt pratītaḥ sa āropita ucyate asatvyāpītyapi bādhakapratyayavaśena tathātvāvasthābhedāgraho 'pi vijātīyabhedapratīte sajātīyādbhedagrahaṇasāmarthyam | tenevaṃ nirastaṃ ḥsādhāraṇaṃ ca rupaṃ vikalpagocaraḥ, na cālīkaṃ tathā bhavitumarhati | tasya hi deśakālānugamo na svābhāvikaḥ, tuccharūpatvāt | na kālpanikaḥ tasyākṣaṇikatvāt | nāropitaḥ anyatrā(2)pyaprasiddheḥ | bhedāgrahādekatvamātramanusandhīyate iti cet na bhāvikasyabhedasyābhāvāt, bhāve vā kālpanikatvasya vyāghātāt | paramārthāsataḥ paramārthābhedaparyavasāyitvāt | āropitasyāgrahānupapatteḥ abhedāropānavakāśācca | āro pitāsattvasya paramārthasatveprasaṅgam catuḥkoṭivinirmuktasyāpratisañjakatvāt | tadagrahasya trailokye 'pi sulabhatvāt | anyatrāpi pāramārthikabhedapratīto kathamabheda āropyatāmiti cet evaṃ tarhi yasya pratibhāse yannāropyate niyamena tasyaivāprakāśe tadāropyaṃ na tvevannāmamātrakasyātiprasañjakatvāt | ata eva na vyadhikaraṇasyāpi sato 'sato vā bhedasyāgrahī'bhedāropopayogīti | ṭīkākāramatamavagamya kiṃmava valayitabhava anena tanmate (6) kilāropo nāma sādharmyadṛgapekṣaḥ kvaci t kasyacidupacāro rajatasyaiva śuktau vivākṣitaḥ | tato 'yaṃ kugrāmavāstavya baṭujavyapetavyaḥ | jalpanīyamanalpaṃ pa (7) ryante kimapi bhaviṣyati labdhaṃ tāvat granthakārayaśaḥ ityāśayenābhihitavān | 'nāpinyāyādapohasiddhitadabhāvādityādyapi prativihitam | yatpunarbhāvābhāva-(8)-sādhāraṇyaṃ vikalpitaṃ na tāvat ubhayarūpatvaṃ virodhāt | na taddharmatvam anamyupagamāt | nahi gotvamabhāvasyāpi dharma ityamyupagamyate | na taddharmitvam, anekāntāt | nahi yadasti tannāstīti pratyayagocaraḥ syāt | prakārāntaramāśritya syādeveti cet evaṃ tarhi tameva prakārabhedamupādāya vidhivyavasthā yāṃ ko virodhaḥ yena pratibandha siddhayet | ḥtasya tato gośabdo gotvaviśiṣṭavyaktimāyābhidhāyī paryavasitaḥ | tāstu viprakīrṇadeśakālatayārthakriyā (4) rthiprārthanāmanubhavitumīśata iti pratipattā viśeṣākāṃkṣaḥ | sā ca tasyākāṃkṣāsti goṣṭhe kālākṣī dhanurghaṭoghnīmahāghaṇṭānandinīnyādibhirniyāmakai rvidhāyakairvā nivāryata iti (5) vidhau na kaściddoṣaḥ | iti | tadapi nirlakṣaṇaśaramokṣaprakhyāmīkṣyate | tathāhi vṛkṣa, śabdena vṛkṣavidhireva kṛtaḥ, satuvidhiryathā pratyakṣeṇa anupālambhātmanā vā tena (6) pratiṣedhaḥ kriyamāṇaḥ śakyate naivāsti nāstiśabdābhyāṃ sambaddhamasti niyatatvāt nāsti niyatatvādeva vā tathā kimayaṃ śabdo vidhiḥ 'ābhyāṃ padābhyāṃ sambaddhaṃ yogyaṃ (7) upadarśyate' | tathā cedasti nāsti padasambandhasādhāraṇa upadarśitaḥ | tat sādhāraṇañcāvṛkṣavyāvṛttaṃ vā vṛkṣārthavidhāyitayā tathābhūtaścārthaḥ śābdasya tādṛśadharmmadvaye dṛṣṭatvāt | sādhāraṇyamābālamavagatam | tathāhi | āvirbhāvatirobhāva dharmmakeṣvanuyāyivat | taddharmmi yatrāvābuddhiḥ, jñānaṃ prāgdharmagrahaṇādbhavet || iti bhaṭṭamatam | bhedāśrayaiste 'pi tasmādajñātaviphlavāḥ || iti siddhāntatatvamācāryīyamādāveva likhitam | śabdebhyo yādṛśībuddhirnaṣṭe 'naṣṭepi dṛśyate | tādṛśyeva sadarthānāṃ naitacchobhādicetasām || bhāvābhāvayordarśanādvikalpa prati (5) bhāsasya sādhāraṇyamuktaṃ pūrvārddhena | dvitīyārdhena aparamārthaviṣayatvasādhyadharmābhāvena sādhanadharmasya bhāvābhāvasādhāraṇyasyābhāvo darśitaḥ | śrotrādi (6)cetasi vipakṣadharmiṇi tataścāyaṃ prayogaḥ prajāyate | yaḥ pratyayo yasyārthasya bhāvābhāvasādhāraṇapratibhāsaḥ sa paramārthatastadviṣayo na bhavati | yathā (7) saṃśayapratyayapratibhāsaḥ svārthasammataḥ śarkarādyarthabhāvābhāvasādhāraṇapratibhāsaśca śarkarādivikalpapratibhāsaḥ vyatirekeṇa yaḥ paramārthataḥ (8) pratyayo yadviṣayaḥ sa tasyārthasyānvayavyatirekāvanuvidhatte | yathā madhuragāndhāradhvanibhāvābhāvānu vidhāyīśrotrabodhaḥ | śarkarālakṣaṇasvārthabhāvābhāvā (9) nuvidhāyī ca na bhavati śarkarāvikalasya pratibhāsaḥ paramārthatastadviṣayatvaṃ tadutpattisambadhanibaṃdhanaṃ dṛṣṭaṃ śrotraprarūpa pratyayapratibhāso yadi tadabhāveti (10) paramārthatastadviṣayatvaṃ syāt | tadā saṃśayaviparyāsapratyayapratibhāsasyāpi syāt na ca tayostathātvamanumanyate prāmāṇikena nāvālambanapratyayatvā bhāvādaparamatau kāraṇaṃ śakyaṃ kalpayitum | yathā go jñānaṃ tāvat viṣayaṃ aparamapi ca na yuktam | tacca sāmānyavijñānamanurundhan vibhāvyate | nīlādyākāralekṣo yaḥ sa tasminkena nirmitaḥ || iti yat yat pratibhāsaṃ vijñānaṃ na bhavati na tattadviṣayaṃ vyavahartavyam | yathā go jñānaṃ aśvaviṣayaṃ na vyavahṛyate varṇakṛtyakṣarākārābhāsaṃ kalpavijñānaṃ, na varṇakṛtyakṣarākāraśūnyaparasammatasāmānyapratibhāsaṃ tadviṣayatvaṃ hi pratibhāsatvena vyāptarūpābhāsasya rūpaviṣaye dṛṣṭaṃ rase (4)canopanaddhaṃ paramārthata iti viśeṣaṇāt sāṃvṛtaṃ na pāryate | paramārthaśca pratiṣṭhito bhāvasvabhāvo 'rthakriyāsamarthaḥ | pratyakṣapratibhāsitaḥ sarvavyavahartṛṇāṃ hānopādānasamī (5) hāviṣayaḥ prakāśyate- arthakriyāsamartha yattadeva paramārthasat | anyat saṃvṛtisat proktaṃ te svasāmānyalakṣaṇe | ityarthaḥ | tenedamasaṃlagnam 'tadyadigovikalpasyāśvaviṣayatvameva tadbhāvāsādhāraṇyaṃ gavyapi bāhye tathā, tataḥ sādhyaviśiṣṭatvam' | arūpādiviśeṣākāṅkṣā tadāsādhāraṇyam, nahyudāhṛto govikalpo 'śvāityādiviśeṣamākāṅkṣati | niyamavidhau tu virodha eva | na hyatadviṣayasya tadviśeṣaniyamākāṅkṣā nāma, gojñānasyāśvaviśeṣa niyama' kāṃkṣāprasaṅgāt | tadīyasadasatvānupadarśanaṃ cet tato 'siddhirdoṣaḥ | nahi govikalpo gośvarūpaṃ nopadarśayatīti mama kadāpi siddham, tava cādyāpi | upādhya (9)ntaraṃcedanekāntaḥ | na hi yo yasya upādhyantaraṃ nopadarśayet nāsau tadapītiniyamaḥ' iti | punaścoktaṃ kathaṃ pūreta asya agotvavyavacchedaḥ, śabdaliṅgābhyāṃ (10) pratipādyate na viśeṣaḥ vastusvarūpayeveti pramāṇantarasya śabdāntarasya ca vṛtteḥ | tathāhi- ekasyārthasvabhāvasya pratyakṣasya ca sataḥ svayam | ko 'nyo bhāvo na dṛṣṭaḥ syāt yaḥ pramāṇaiḥ parīkṣyate || sahi-pratyakṣaḥ prasiddho dharmiṇi sādhanāsambhavāt | yathā pratyayatvasādhye śabdastathā pratyakṣeṇaiva siddheḥ sarvākārasiddhe tadanyasya'(2) siddhasyābhāvāt, bhāve vā na tatsvabhāvatvaṃ nahi yat..........na bhavanti sa tatsvabhāvoyuktaḥ tanmātranibandhanatvāt bhedavyavahārasya | anyathā abhāvaprasaṃgādi (3) ityuktam, tasmātpratyakṣeṇa dharmiṇi tatsvabhāvāsākalyaparicchedāt atrānavakāśaḥ pramāṇantarabuddhiḥ syāt | ḥno cedbhrāntinimittena saṃyojyetaḥ guṇāntaramḥ 'śuktau vā rajatākāro rūpasādharmyadarśanāt || yadi dṛṣṭasarvatatvasyāpi bhrāmyaddhetoḥ niścayapratirodhinā bhrāntinimittena guṇāntarā na saṃyojyeta, yathā śuktau rajatākārau, na hi śuktau te rūpe samānaṃ viśiṣṭañca tathāpratipattiprasaṅgāt | apratipattau vā vivekena tvavikalpāyogān atiprasaṅgācca | tasmāt paśyan śuktirūpaṃ ca (6) viśiṣṭameva paśyati niścayapratyayavaikalyāt | aniścitaṃ tava sāmānyaṃ paśyāmīti manyate ' tato 'sya rajatasamāropaḥ tathā sadṛśārtharopi notpatte(7)ralakṣitanānātvasya bhrāntisamāropāt sthitibhrānti yāvanto 'sya parabhāvā tāvanta eva yathāsvaṃ nimittabhāvinaḥ samāropāiti tadvayavacchedakāni (8) bhavanti pramāṇāni saphalāni, teṣāntu vyavacchedaphalānāṃ tu nā pratītavastvaṃśapratyāyane pravṛttistasya dṛṣṭatvāt | phalāṃ śasya caikadeśena darśanāyogāt | tasmāt [1]dṛṣṭasya bhāvasya dṛṣṭa evākhilo guṇaḥ | bhrānternaniścala iti sādhanaṃ saṃ pravartate || vastu grahe 'numānācca dharmasyaikasya niścaye | sarvadharmagraho 'pohe nāyaṃ doṣaḥ pra [10] vartate | tasmādapohaviṣayaṃ iti liṅgaṃ prakīrtitam | anyathā dharmiṇaḥ siddhau kimataḥ sādhakaṃ param || kvaciddṛṣṭepiyajjñānaṃ sāmānyārthavikalpakam | asamāropitānyaṃśe tanmātrāpohagocaram || niścitāropamanaso 'rtho bādhyabādhakabhāvataḥ | samāropaviveke 'sya pravṛttiriti gamyate || yāvantoṃśa samāropastannirāse viniścayāḥ | tāvanta eva śabdāśca tena te bhinnagocarāḥ || anyathaikena śabdena vyāpta ekatra vastuni | buddhayā nānyaviṣaya iti paryāyatā bhavet || iti svamatamupadarśya viṣayama [3] paramohahataye proktam | yasyāpi nānopādherdhī grāhikāryasya bhedina- | nānopādhyūpakārāṅgaṃ śaktyabhinnātmano grahe || sarvātmanohakāryasya ko bhedaḥ syādaniścitam | tayorātmani sambandhādeka jñāpe dvayagrahaḥ || atmabhūtasyopādhestadvatorūpakāryopakārakabhāvasya grahaṇāt | ekajñāne dvayorapi grahaṇamiti ekopādhiviśiṣṭepi [4] tasmin gṛhyamāṇe sarvopādhīnāṃ grahaṇaṃ tadgrahaṇanāntarīyakatvādupādhikṛdgrahaṇasya | anyathā tathā na gṛhyeta | na hyanyaevānyopakārako yo na gṛhī [6] taḥ syāt | na cāpyapakārake tathāgṛhīte tadupakāryāgrahaṇaṃ tasyāpyagrahaṇaprasaṅgāt | tasmādarthāntaropādhivāde 'pi samānaḥ prasaṅgaḥ | dharmopakāraśaktīnāṃ bhede tāstasya kiṃ yadi | nopakārastataḥ tāsāṃ tathā syādanavasthatiḥ || ekopakārake grāhye nopakārāstato 'pare | dṛṣṭe tasminnadṛṣṭā ye tadgrahe sakalagrahaḥ || ityanena pāramārthikapāratantrya lakṣaṇopādhisambandhayonyasvabhāvāṅgīkāre sakalagahaḥ ekenāpi pramāṇena śabdena vā pravṛttena syāt | yadā tu bhāve bhāvini tadbhāvo bhāva eva ca bhāvitā | prasiddhe hetuphalate pratyakṣānupalambhataḥ || etāvanmātratatvārthāḥ kāryakāraṇagocarāḥ | vikalpā darśayantyarthān mithyārthā ghaṭitāniva || bhinne kā ghaṭanābhinne kāryakāraṇatāpi vā | bhāve hyayanyasya viśliṣṭau śliṣṭau syātāṃ kathaṃ na tau || saṃyogi samavādyādi sarvametena cintitam | anyo 'nyānupakārācva na sambandhī ca tādṛśaḥ || iti kalpitopakāryāpakārakabhā [2]ve sambandhenāyaṃ prasaṅgaḥ, kena hi kāryāṃpekṣya paścāt kāryakāraṇabhāvabhājaṃ bhāvamakalpamapi pratyakṣamīkṣate yenāyaṃ prasaṅgaḥ syāt | ata evoktam apohenāyaṃ doṣaḥ prasaṅgataiti | sūryavadevā (sūryādervā) viśvopakārisvabhāve grahe viśvagrahaḥ [3] syāt | ata evāha- 'yadi bhrāntinivṛnttyarthaṃ gṛhīte 'nyadiṣyate' syādetannirbhāgasya vastuno brahe ko 'nyastadā na gṛhīto nāma sa tu bhrāntyā nāvadhāryate iti pramāṇāntaraṃ yadyevaṃ-tadvyavacchedaviṣayaṃ siddhaṃ tadvattato 'param | tadvayaccheda viṣayaṃ siddhaṃ tadvattato 'panparam | asamāropaviṣaye vṛtterapi ca tāratamyādiḥ | yathā parivrāṭkāmukaśunāmekasyāṃ pramadā tanau | kuṇapaḥ kāminī bhañjamiti tisro vikalpanā || ityādi vartikakāradarśite prasaṅge yannipuṇamasṛṇamanīṣayā dharmmā [8] na na sarpavadapaviṣavisarpaṃ sphāraphūtkāraprāyaṃ pralapitamamunā lekhitumapi (likhitumapi) urjjāmahe | maheśvarapraṇatalabthavarṇavarṇitatvena na prahasanāya prastūyate | upādhyantaraṃ cedanekāntaḥ | na hi yo yasya [9] upādhyantaraṃ nopadarśayet nāsau tadapīti niyamaḥ | nanu niyama eva, tathāhi yanna yatsamevatadharmabodhanaṃ na tat tatsvarūpabodhanaṃ yathā govikalpaśabdauturage | tathā ca tau anavasthāprasaṅgāt | tataḥ śakternabhedāt | upakārābhede sarvopādhisahitabodhi'bodhoveti dvayī gatiriti pratibandhasi ddhiḥ | duṣprayuktametat, upādhiṃ prakalpya mede pratiniyatasāmagrīvodhyatvasyāpi svabhāvavaicitryanibandhanatvāt, tasyāpi svakāraṇādhīnatvāt, tasyāpyanvayavyatirekasiddhatvāt tasyāpi kāryonneyatvāt iti | yattu śakterabhedādityādi, tattadā śobheta yadi dharmimātrādhīnastadbodhamātrādhīno vā, tāvanmātrabodhasāmagrayadhīno vā yāvadupādhibhedabodhaḥ syāt, na caivam | yayā [4] kayāpi sāmagryā jñānamutpadyatāṃ tat kiṃ pāramārthikasvarūpadvayaniṣṭhopakāryopakārakabhāvabhāgidravyaṃ dṛṣṭamiṣṭaṃ na vā, tena jñānenayadi dṛṣṭaṃ, sarvātmanā upādhibhiḥ sārdham | yadyaṃśenāpoha vi [5] ṣayatvasya svīkṛtamapāramārthikopādhyapakārayogyasvabhāvatvasya bhāvasyātadvyāvṛttiniṣṭhasya tena nirūpaṇāt nipuṇaṃ nirūpaya tāvat | grāhakajñānāpekṣayā prasaṅge datte ke [6] śe spṛṣṭa śiraśca nayasi sāmagryā vaicitryāditi tataḥ ki jñānameva sakalopādhi upakārayogyavastusvarūpamanyonyāpekṣaṃ na lakṣayasi | vastusvarūpameva cānyathākṛta (7) svabhāva eṣa jñānasya kṛtastena tatpadārthamekopādhiviśiṣṭaṃ niṣṭaṃkayati | paryantavikalpaviśvāse dantaniṣṭhoṣikāyāḥ kimetadanyat | anyavikalpālambane tu vyaktameva prakṛtadoiṣānatikra-(8)-maḥ kārakahetuprasaktiśceti yatpunarūpahāsya evaṃ upahasati | etena bhedāddharmiṇaḥ pratītāvapi śabdaliṅgadvārā dharmāṇāṃ bhedapratītirindriya dvārāpi mā bhūta ityādikaṃ tu karṇasparśeṃ kaṭicālanamapāstam | tattadupādhyupalambhasāmagrīvirahakāle prasañjitasyeṣṭatvāt | vicitraśaktitvācca pramāṇānāṃ, liṅgasya prasiddhapratibandhapratisandhānaśaktikatvāt, śabdasya samayasīmavikramatvāt, indriyasya tu arthaśaktera pekṣaṇāt na tu sambaddho 'rtha ityevaṃ pramāṇaiḥ pramāpyate, atiprasaṅgāditi-tadapi samyak pūrvavicārānatikramāt, api ca tadasyaparihāreṇa pravartateti ca dhvaneḥ ucyate | tena te syāt vyavacchede kathaṃ ca sat śabdastathāyuktaṃ anyacca niṣparihāreṇa pravartate 'tiprasaṅge, tatrānyatra ca pravṛttyanujñāyāṃ tannāmagrahaṇavaiyarthyaṃ sat pravṛttinivṛtyanujñāyāñca ekacodanā, nā (2) nātva etadvacanameva syāt vyāvṛtyākhyāne tasmādavaśyaṃ śabdena vyavacchedaścodanīyaḥ | sa cābhinnastadanye vyaktijātidharmāpyasti tanniyatāsūpagamaṃ, niyatacodanaṃ jātyarthaprasādhanañca, paritya (3) jya avāntaraparikalpanaṃ anarthanirbandha eva yathākalpanamasyāyogāt | na vai vyavacchedo na kriyate, pravṛttiviṣayantu kathayanti jātirūpā, vyavacchedo 'sti bhedasya nanvetāvatprayojanaṃ śabdānāmiti | (4) kiṃ tadasāmānyo nāpareṇa vaḥ | na jātirarthakriyāyogyeti pravṛttiviṣayaḥ | taddvāreṇa codite na pravṛttirapi pratyuktā, tadvat codane ca vyavadhānaṃ jātivatoḥ pravṛttiviṣayatve vyāvṛtti taccānto (5) kinneṣyate vyāvṛtteravastutvenāsādhanatvāccet tattulyaṃ jāteḥ tadvatsādhanādadoṣa iti cet tulyaṃ tadvyāvṛttimataḥ avastugrāhī ca vyāvṛttivādināṃ śābdaḥ pratyayaḥ sacitramavajātajanma kārake 'pi kārakāvyavasāyī pravartayati, vastusaṃvādastu vastūtpattyā tatpratibandhesati bhavati, anyathā naivāsti vastutpatte rna bhrānteriti cet nātat pratisiddhastatastadavyavasāyāt | maṇipra [7] bhāyāṃ maṇiprabhāyāṃ maṇibhrāntidarśanena vyabhicārācca bhrānteravastusaṃvāda iti cet na yathoktenaiva vyabhicārāt | vitathapratibhāso hi bhrāntilakṣaṇaṃ tannāntarīkatayā saṃvādo na pratibhāsā-(8) pekṣī jātergrahaṇamevaṃ bhrāntigrahaṇe vā na tatra pravṛttiriti kiṃ tenānyavyāvṛtā ca kriyāyogyanīlādyarthākārapratyayaprādurbhāvāt, tadupanīte 'nyapravṛtti nivṛttī samañjasa janmāno vināpi ca sā (8) mānyena prakṛtibhinneṣvartheṣu bhede cedamiti pratyabhijñānaṃ yasmāt- jñānādyarthakriyāṃ tāṃ tāṃ dṛṣṭvā bhede 'pi kurvataḥ | arthāstadanyaviśleṣaviṣayairdhvanibhiḥ saha || saṃyojyapratyabhijñānaṃ kuryādapya[10]sya darśane || bhede 'pi prakṛtyaiva cakṣurādivat jñānādikā arthakriyā tathānyeṣu padārtheṣu tāmeva arthakriyāmatadrūpaparāvṛtteṣu paśyato 'nyāvṛttaviṣayatvavisaṃsṛṣṭaṃ tadevedamiti svānubhavavāsanāprabodhane saṃsṛṣṭabhedaṃ mithyājñānamā(ma) jāyate, anyathā bhedasaṃsargavatī buddhiḥ syāt daṇḍivat | na hyekadaṇḍadarśanenānyatra sa evāyami (2) ti bhavati, kiṃ tarhi, tadiheti | na caivaṃ pratyabhijñānaṃ kiṃ tadevedamiti, tanna tadekamanekatra paśyatopi bhedasaṃsargavat muktam | vibhramavaśāttu tathā jñānena virodhaḥ nimittābhāvādvibhramo na mukta iti cet (3) ta eva bhāvāstadekārthakāriṇo 'nubhavadvāreṇa prakṛtyā vibhramakalāyā vikalpavāsanāyā hetutvānnimittaṃ | marīcikādiṣvapi hi jalādibhrāntestāvevābhinnāhāraparāmarśapratyayanimittānubhava (4) jananau bhāvau kāraṇaṃ bhinnāvapi na hi tatrānyadeva kiñcitsāmānyamasti yattathā pratīyate | sattve vā sadarthagrāhiṇī buddhirbhrāntirna syāt, abhūtākārasamāropādbhrāntitve sa evākāro 'syā viṣayaḥ, (5) aviṣayasyānāropāt | sa cāroposāmānyamekakāryakārigrahaṇa iti nirarthikotpattiḥ yathāvasthitasvabhāvagrahāsāmarthyaṃ vikalpānāṃ svakāraṇapravṛtteḥ svakāra (6)ṇañca avidyāvāsanāpi keśavibhramasyeva timiraṃ tena | astīyamapi yā tvantarupaplavasamudbhavā || doṣodbhavā prakṛtyā sa vinayapratibhāsinī | anapekṣitasādharmyadṛgādistimirādivat || parasyāpi na sā buddhiḥ sāmānyādeva kevalāt | nityaṃ tanmātravijñāte vyaktyajñānaprasaṅgataḥ | ekavastusahāyāścedvayaktayo jñānakāraṇam | tadekaṃ vastu kiṃ tāsāṃ nānātvaṃ[4] samapohati | nānātvāccaikavijñānahetutā tāsunekṣyate || atha vaikalyaṃ jananavirodhitenatatsāhitye jananaṃ cet anekamapi yayekamapekṣyābhinnabuddhikṛt | tābhirvināpi pratyekaṃ kriyamāṇāṃ dhiyaṃ prati || tenaikenāpi sāmarthya tāsāṃ netyagraho dhiyā | atha yathā nīlādiṣu ekāpāye 'pi cakṣurvijñānaṃ bhavatīti na samūhe 'pi teṣāmasāmarthyam | tathehāpi pratye (10) kāṣāye bhavatīti na sarvvadāsāmarthyam | na, nīlādernetra-vijñāne pṛthaksāmarthyadarśanāt | śaktisiddhiḥ samūhe 'pi naivaṃ vyakteḥ kathañcana || na hi vyaktayaḥ sāmānyarahitā anvayijñānajanane dṛṣṭaśaktayaḥ tato na tāstatra samarthā iti na tena gṛhyeran | tāsāmanyatamāpaikṣyaṃ taccecchaktaṃ na kevalam || tadekamukuryustāḥ kathamekāṃ dhiyañca na | pūrvakasahakārivicārātsāmānyamupakāryamāsāṃ prāptaṃ sāmānyāntaramivāpekṣiṇāṃ ka āsāṃ pratibandhodhiyamādhātumekānto hi tena vinotpannā mithyā svaviṣayādṛte | iti mithyā (2) tvamāśaṅkya mānasavivādā uktameva bauddhadhiyām | tathā dharmiṇo naikarūpasya nendriyātsarvathā gatiḥ | svasaṃvedyamanirdeśyaṃ rūpamindriyagocaraḥ || sarvato vinivṛttasya vinivṛttiryato yataḥ | tadbhedonnītabhedā sā dharmiṇo 'nekarūpatā || te kalpitā rūpabhedā nirvikalpasya cetasaḥ | na vicitrasya citrābhāḥ kādācitkasya gocaraḥ || yadyapyasti sitatvādi yādṛgindrayagocaraḥ | [5] na so 'bhidhīyate śabdairjñānayorūpabhedataḥ | ekārthatve 'pi buddhīnāṃ nānāśrayatayā sa cet | śrotrādi cintānīdārnī bhinnārthānīti tatkutaḥ || jāto nāmāśrayo 'nyonyaḥ cetasāṃ tasya vastunaḥ | ekasyaiva kuto rūpaṃ bhinnākāravabhāsitat || cakṣuliṅgañca śabdañcāśritya yadi citrācitrābhāsatvaṃvikalpanirvikalpakacetasorbhavati | tarhi tayorekaviṃṣayatvaṃ kathamastu paramārthataḥ athaikaṃ paramārthaviṣayamaparaṃ timirakāmalābalādiva śukle pītādyābhāsadhāyino 'vidyādyaparapratyayāditaḥ sarvato vinivṛtte 'kha'ḍātmani (8) vivakṣitārthakriyāhetopratiniyatānyavyāvṛttadharmmadharmibhāvalabdhakhaṇḍatvānarthakriyāsamarthapratibhāsavikalpakāriṇaḥ samutpannamaparamārthaviṣayakāraṇaṃ kāraṇabhedāt prati (9) bhāsabhedācca samarthyatāmityuktau kledaṃ sambadhyate | citrācitrapratibhāsābhyāṃ mitho viruddhābhyāmekanīlaviṣayābhyāmanaikāntāt | na rhi citrādhyakṣe yannīlaṃ cakāsti tadeva vā puruṣāntarasya yenākāreṇaikaviṣayatvaṃ tayo rna tenaiva virodho, yena ca virodho na tenaikaviṣayatvam, dharmāntarākāreṇa virodho nīlamātrākāreṇa cai kaviṣayateti cet-nanvihāpi dharmāntarākāreṇa virodho gotvavatpiṇḍamātrākāreṇa ekaviṣayateti tāvanmātranirākaraṇe 'siddho hetuḥ | pūrvatra siddhasādhanam | na hi śābdalaiṅgikavikalpakāle deśa (2) kālaniyamādayo 'pi sarva eva dharmaviśeṣā viṣayabhāvamāsādayantītyabhyupagacchāmaḥḥ nirvāhabhraṃśarūpe na hyavyaktamuktavato pi prameyānusaraṇenānistaraṇameva bhavataḥ dharmmidharmatayā citrateha vivakṣitā sā kathamanekāntā | citrābhyāṃ nīlābhyāṃ tayaurnirvikalpakaṃ cet gaurarthakriyāsamarthapratiṣṭhitaṃ nīlapratibhāsayoḥ vikalpakā niyatapratibhāsavikalpena saha kathaṃ savyetaranayanadṛṣṭavadekaviṣayatvaṃ sphuṭāsphuṭāsphuṭamapi sannihitāsannihitatayā nīlasya grahaṇaṃ tatrāsannihitatayā deśakālābhyāṃ vikalpakamavaiti deśādisannihitatayā nirvikalpakam | dūrāsannādi bhedena vyaktāvyaktaṃ na yujyate | tasyādālokabhedāccet tatpidhānāpidhānayoḥ || tulyā dṛṣṭiraduṣṭirvā sūkṣmo 'śastasya kaścana | ālokena ca mandena dṛśyate 'to bhidā yadiṃ || ekatve 'rthasya vāhyasya dśyādṛśyabhidā kutaḥ | anekatve 'ṇuśobhinne dṛśyādṛśyabhidā kutaḥ | māndyapāṭavabhedena bhāso buddhibhidā yadi | bhinne 'nyasminabhinnasya kuto bhedena bhāsanamḥ | mandaṃ tadapi tejaḥ kimāvuteriha sā na kim | tanutvaṃ tejaso 'pyetadastyanyatrāpyatānavam || atyāsanne ca suvyaktaṃ tejastat syādatisphuṭām | tatrāpyadṛṣṭamāśritya bhavedrūpāntaraṃ yadi? || anyo 'nyāvaraṇātteṣāṃ syāttejo vihatistataḥ tatrekameka dṛśyeta tasyānāvaraṇe sakṛt || paśyetsphuṭāsphuṭaṃ rūpameko 'dṛṣṭena vāraṇe | arthānarthau na yena stastaddṛṣṭaṃ karoti kim || adṛṣṭaṃ dṛṣṭaṃ vā kāraṇaṃ kalpyatāmekatve bāhyasya sphuṭāsphuṭaghaṭanāpāṭavāpalāpāt | pratyayasya pratiniyatākāritaiva prāptakālā | anyathā jaya (10) parājayādivyavasthāvādināṃ viparyasyet | adṛṣṭavaśājjayaḥ parājayatayā pariṇataḥ parājayo pi jayatayeti śakyamabhidhātum | tasmātsaṃvit yathāhetu jāyamānārthasaṃśrayāt | pratibhāsabhidāṃ dhatte śeṣāḥ kumatidurnayāḥ || yathā 'nanu dharmiṇyeva sphuṭāsphuṭapratibhāsabhedaḥ na kathañcit | yathā yathā hi dharmāḥ pratibhānti tathā tathā sphuṭārthapratibhāna vyavahāraḥ ityādi, dharmmadharmmitayā hi pratibhāsanaṃ deśakālābhyāṃ asaṃnihitatayā kalpanamasphuṭapratibhānamāropitārthatvādityasakṛduktaṃ paramārthatastadviṣayatā neṣyate | sāmvṛtī tu jaga (3)dgītāstyevātaḥ parāmarśāvatāraḥ, tattvadarśinaḥ samvādopi sthūlaparāmarśinā tadrūpaparāvṛttanīlaviṣayaḥ, avāntaraparāmarśena sajātīyaparāvṛttānekanīlagocaraḥ sadvastutvādayo (4) kriyāmātranibandhanā vyapadeśāstasyaiva nīlasya śliṣṭāḥ svabhāvantaratā spṛśaḥ tadvāreṇāpyabādhanaṃ gṛhītasambandhānusandhānadvāreṇa śabdaliṅgaṃ lakṣitā pratītirūtprekṣākā-(5)-ratayā parokṣaviṣayā antasambandhena vā purovartinivṛttervyaparokṣaviṣayā na tayo rapi tatvata eka viṣayatā sāṃvṛtabodhasvīkrāre kva pratītirbādhānupalambhakukṣau (6) kṣiptatvādupādhicakrasya na śakyaṃ śakrasyāpi taddvāreṇa saṃdigdhānaikāntikatvaṃ kīrtayitum | jñānamindriyabhedena paṭumandāvilādikām | pratibhāsabhidāmarthe vibhradekatra dṛśyate || arthasyābhinnarūpatvāt ekarūpaṃ bhavenmanaḥ | sarva tadarthamarthāccet tasya nāsti tadābhatā || arthāśrayeṇodbhavatastadrūpamanakurvataḥ | tasya kecidaṃśena parato 'pi bhidābhavet || tadā hyāśritya pitaraṃ tadrūpo 'pi sutaḥ pituḥ | bhedaṃkenacidaṃśena kutaścidavalambate || mayūracandrakākāraṃ nīlalohitabhāsvaram | sampaśyanti pradīpādermaṇḍalaṃ mandacakṣuṣaḥ || tasya tadvāhyarūpatve kā prasannekṣaṇe 'kṣamā | bhūtaṃ paśyaṃśca taddarśī kathaṃ copahatendriyaḥ || śodhitaṃ timireṇāsya vyaktañcakṣuratīndriyam | paśyato 'nyākṣadṛśye 'rthe tadavyaktaṃ kathaṃ punaḥ || ālokākṣamanaskārādanyasyaikasya gamyate | śaktirhetustato nānyo 'hetuśca viṣayaḥ katham! || ityanyasyopādhigrahasya tadvato cānanvayavyatirekādhyāsāt, tatkathaṃ taddvāreṇāpi pratibhāsabhedo bhāvīti dharmādupādhīnāmativi jñānasadbhāvāt | vastudharmatayaivārthāstādṛgvijñānakāraṇam | bhede 'pi yatra tajjñānaṃ tāṃstathā pratipadyate || jñānānyapi tathā bhede 'bhedapratyavamarśane | ityatatkrāryaviśleṣasyānvayo naikavastunaḥ || vastūnāṃ vidyate tasmāt tanniṣṭhā vastuni śrutiḥ | bāhyaśaktivyavacchedaniṣṭhabhāve 'pi tacchrutiḥ || vikalpapratibimbeṣu tanniṣṭheṣu nibadhyate | tato 'nyāpohaniṣṭhatvāduktānyāpohakṛtśrutiḥ || 'bāhyaśakti' ityādi ślokapūrvvabhāgaḥ pramāṇasya bādhakasya sūtra [3] kaḥ, 'vikalpa pratibimbeṣvityādi prakāśya dṛśyavikalpāvartho ekīkṛtya vyavahārapravṛtterityevamarthaḥ saṃketādikāraṇasya | vyatirekīva yajjñāne bhātyarthaṃ pratibimbakam | śabdāttadapi nārthātmā bhrāntiḥ sā vāsanodbhavā || tasyābhi dhāne śrutibhirartheko 'śo 'vagamyate | tasyāgatau ca saṅketakriyāvyarthā tadarthikā || śabdo 'rthāśa kamāheti tatrānyāpoha ucyāta | ākāraḥ sa ca nārthe 'sti taṃ vadannarthabhāka katham | śabdasyānvayinaḥ kāryamarthenānvayinā sa ca | ananvayī dhiyo 'bhedāt darśanābhyāsanirmitaḥ | tadrūpāropagatyānyathāvṛttādhigateḥ punaḥ | śabdārtho 'rthaḥ sa eveti vacana na virudhyate || iti bādhakapratyayavaśāt atadrūpavyāvṛttavirodhe 'pi śabdasyārtho 'poha kathyate | sa ca vidhi pratītyanantaraṃ vidhiguṇatvena pratibhāti | anbayavyatirekābhyāṃ lokavyavahāra pravṛtteḥ | yathā ca tatparicchinatti ityādi [2] kkacinniveśanāyārthe vinivartya kutaścana | buddheḥ prayujyate śabdastadarthasyāvadhāraṇāt | vyartho 'nyathā prayogaḥ syāt tajjñeyādi padeṣvapi || vyavahāropanīteṣu vyavacchedo 'sti kaścana | nivaśanaṃ ca yo yasmāt bhidyate vinivartyatam | tadbhede bhidyamānānāṃ samānākārabhāsini | sa cāyamanyavyāvṛtyā gamyate tasya vastunaḥ || kaścit bhāga iti prokto rūpaṃ nāsyāpi kiñcana | tadgatāveva śabdebhyo gamyate 'nyanivartanam || na tatra gamyate kaścidviśiṣṭaḥ kenacitparaḥ | na cāpi śabdo dvayakṛdanyo 'nyābhāva ityasau || arūporūpavattvena darśanaṃ buddhiviplavaḥ | iti vyaktamuktamapoho vyāvṛttimātramuttarakālaṃ śabdārthaḥ pratīyate | pratīyata itisādhvevoktaṃ mitrapādaiḥ śabdaistāvanmukhyamākhyāyāte 'rtha, statrāpohastadguṇatvena gamyaḥ | arthaścaiko 'dhyāsato bhāsato 'nyaḥ, sthāpyo vācyastattvato naiva kaścit || etāvatyarthe vivakṣite svavodhavaidhuryaṃ bodhayannāha- varṇakṛtyakṣarākāra śūnyaṃgotvaṃ hivarṇyate || iti etāvatyarthe vivakṣite svabodhavaidhuryaṃ bodhayannāha- 'yadapyatyantavilakṣaṇānāmityādi, tadapi sandigdhānaikāntikamm vidhināpi tathābhūtena sālakṣaṇyavyavahārasya nirvāhāt tathāhi ayaṃ vyavahāro na nirnimittaḥ, nāpyaneka nimittaḥ nāpyanekāsaṃsargyekanimittaḥ atiprasaṅgāt | tatau'neka saṃsaryekanimittaḥ pariśiṣyate ityādi, tadapi varṇākṛtkṣarākāra śūnyaṃ gotvaṃ hivarṇyate | varṇākṛtyakṣarākāraśūnya (3) sāmānyam, (2) bahulābhisandhau dhautādhautamūlakasamānasatyatāvṛttāntapāmarasyāpi na lakṣyate ko hi viśeṣo 'bhāvo 'pohaḥ samastavarṇākṛtyakṣarākāraśūnyaṃ vā sāmānyaṃ atadrūpaparāvṛtta nī (4) lākāravikalpena pratītiviśeṣo 'dhyavasāyaśabdārthaḥ vācyaḥ, pravṛtteraśeṣāyā aṅgamityuktau, ko 'yamadhyavasāyaḥ kimalīkasya vastutayāvabhāsaḥ kiṃ cāvasthātmakatayā tato bhe(5)dāgraho vā vastuvāsanāsamutthatvaṃ vetyādyanabhimatamukhyo 'pya prastutabandhabandhutāpratānaḥ, arthasārūpyamasya pramāṇaṃ tadvaśādarthapratītasiddheḥ dṛśyavikalpyāva-(6) rthāvekīkṛtya vyavahārapravṛtteḥ pramāṇaphalavyavasthātrāpi pratyakṣavadityādivacanāt nīlākārādviśiṣṭatadviśeṣagrahaḥ | atadrūpaparāvṛttanīlākārā tanmātragrahaṇamiti vyavasthā (7) yāṃ ḥnāpiviṣayasārūpyaṃ, (tadabhāvān) kā hi paramārthasadalīkarūpayoḥ samāna rūpatā nāme tyādi guḍagorasayorekatākaraṇaṃ kvopayuktam | bādhakapratyayāddhi tadalīkatvaṃ kiṃ prāgā (8) ropya cintā kriyate śeṣaśca doṣo 'bhimānasyaiva cintyatvādityādirajatapratītiparāmarśādgataḥ | yadi rajataṃ kiṃ vācyam | tasmādbhāvābhāvasādhāraṇapratibhāsa(9)..........sādhakena vidheḥ pratyayāntareṇāstīti vā sthāpyo nāstīti bādhakena āśaṅkitasyāropitasya vā pratibaṃdho deśādipratiṣedhe prītiprasiddhameva | deśakālanisiddhaścet yathāsti sa niṣidhyate | na tathā na yathā so 'sti tathāpi na ni[10]ṣidhyate || yat tu jñānasārupyāt ka.....pravṛttiriti prastutya sphurita eva pravartayanīti tatsiddhameva sādhyate | yato jñānasārūpyamanumānasiddhamiṣya (1) te | sa cāvasthātuṃaparokṣarūpājñānāntargatāpyanumānena siddhā | ahaṃkārāspadagrāhakākāraparāmarśāntargatatvāt bāhyabhūtā sphuritaśabdavācyā | sārūpyāt bhrāntito vṛttirarthe cetsyānna sarvadā | deśabhrāntiśca na jñāne tulyamutpattito dhiyaḥ || tathā vidhāyāḥ, maṇipradīpaprabhayoḥ maṇibuddhayāmidhāvatoḥ | mithyājñānāviśeṣe 'pi viśeṣo 'rthakriyāṃ prati || yathā tathāyathārthatve 'pyanumānatadābhayoḥ | arthakriyānurodhena pramāṇatvaṃ suvyavasthitam ||
