bhāvinārāyaṇabījabhūtā pūrvakalpe svayambhūpālakena nāmakena vyaktena nārāyaṇapuruṣeṇa saṃyujyate tataśca sajātīyairanyaiḥ prakṛtyaṃśairnyūnādhikabhāvena militā satī cetanācetanātmakaṃ mahattattvamārabhate | nanu puruṣasya prakṛtisaṃyogitve asaṃyogo hyayaṃ puruṣa iti śrutivirodha iti cenna vikārahetusaṃyogasyaiva saṅgaśabdārthatvāt anyathā śrutismṛtiṣu jalasaṃyogino 'pi padmapattrasyāsaṅgatādṛṣṭāntatā na syāt | tatra mahattattvasya svarūpeṇa mukhyotpattiḥ cetanasya tu abhivyaktirūpā kāryatā | yogabhāṣye vyāsadhṛtavākyānnavadhā kāryatā | utpattisthityabhivyaktivikārapratyayāptayaḥ / viyogānyatvadhṛtayaḥ kāraṇaṃ navadhā smṛtam // iti / evamādiśaktirapi cetanaviśeṣo mahattattvakāraṇībhūtaguṇatrayasambandhāt svayambhavāpyādāvutpadyate | utpattau ca pramāṇaṃ prayogasāre | tasmādvinirgatā nityā sarvagā viṣṇusambhavā // iti / vāyavīyasaṃhitāyāṃ ca / śivecchayā parā śaktiḥ śivatattvaikatāṃ gatā / tataḥ parisphuratyādau sarge tailaṃ tilādiva // iti / pañcarātre 'pi / evamālokya tāṃ śaktiṃ saccidānandarūpiṇīm / samastatattvasandhāmasphūrtyadhiṣṭhānarūpiṇīm // vyaktāṃ karoti nityāṃ tāṃ prakṛtiṃ paramaḥ pumān // iti / prādurāsījjaganmātā vedamātā sarasvatī / guṇatrayamayī śaktirmūlaprakṛtisañjñitā // tasyāmahaṃ samutpannastattvaistairmahadādibhirityādiśivavākyācca | saiva prakṛtyadhiṣṭhātrī devatā mahālakṣmī ambā bhavānī haimavatī durgā ityādipadairabhilapyate purāṇādiṣu | saiva ca līlāvigrahairādipuruṣeṇa militā satī sṛṣṭiṃ pālayati | taduktaṃ śaṅkarācāryaiḥ | śivaḥ śaktyā yukto yadi bhavati śaktaḥ prabhavituṃ na cedevaṃ devo na khalu kuśalaḥ spanditumapi / iti / evaṃ sarvatattvānāṃ tattaddevatānāṃ ca sahaivotpattirjñeyā | utpattikramastu nirūpaṇakrameṇaiva | etasmānmahato guṇāntarasaṃvalitāt trividho 'haṅkāra utpadyate cetanācetanātmakaḥ vaikāriko rājasastāmasaśceti | tataścāhaṅkārāt saṅkalpapūrvakaṃ dehendriyāṇi pañca tanmātrāṇi cotpadyante | svayabhuva indriyāṇi devatārūpāṇi vaikārikāt vyaṣṭīndriyāṇi ca taijasāt teṣvindriyeṣvādau mana utpadyate | śabdarāgācchrotramasya jāyate bhāvitātmanaḥ / rūparāgāt tathā cakṣurghrāṇaṃ gandhajidhṛkṣayā // ityādinā mokṣadharmādau śrotrādīnāṃ manovṛttirāgādikāryatvaśravaṇāt | indriyatanmātrayośca kāryakaraṇabhāvasyābhāvāt kramaniyamo nāsti | tatrendriyeṣu nāstyavāntarakāryakāraṇabhāvaḥ pramāṇābhāvāt | tanmātreṣu tvasti sa yathā ahaṃkārācchabdatanmātraṃ tasmādahaṃkārotpannācchabdatanmātrādahaṃkārasahitāt sparśatanmātraṃ śabdasparśobhayaguṇakam | evaṃ krameṇaikaikaguṇavṛddhyā tanmātratrayamutpadyate | tataśca tanmātrebhyaḥ pañca mahābhūtāni jāyante | tatrāhaṅkārāt pañcatanmātrāṇāṃ taddvārā pañcamahābhūtānāṃ cotpattau purāṇe krama uktaḥ sa yathā bhūtādistu vikurvāṇaḥ śabdamātraṃ sasarja hi / ākāśaṃ suṣiraṃ tasmādutpannaṃ śabdalakṣaṇam // ākāśastu vikurvāṇaḥ sparśamātraṃ sasarja hi / vāyurutpadyate tasmāt tasya sparśo guṇo mataḥ // ityādikrameṇeti | nanvevamākāśādibhūtacatuṣṭayasyāpi tattvāntaraprakṛtyāpattyā kevalavikṛtitvāṣṭaprakṛtitvasiddhāntakṣatiriti cenna ākāśādīnāṃ sparśāditanmātreṣvahaṃkāropaṣṭambhamātreṇa kāraṇatvasya purāṇeṣūktatvāditi | evaṃ trayoviṃśatitattvānāṃ sṛṣṭiḥ | teṣu pañcamahābhūtāni varjjayitvā 'haṃkāraṃ ca buddhau praveśya saptadaśakaṃ liṅgaśarīrasañjñaṃ bhavati | vahnerindhanavadātmano 'bhivyaktisthānatvāt | tacca sarvapuruṣāṇāṃ svasvabījabhūtaprakṛtisaṃyogāt sargādāvutpadya prākṛtapralayaparyantaṃ tiṣṭhati | tenaiva cehalokaparalokayorjīvānāṃ saṃsaraṇaṃ bhavati | prāṇaśca buddhereva vṛttibheda ityato liṅaśarīre pṛthak na nirdiśyate buddhāvevāntarbhāvāt | tasya ca liṅgaśarīrasya paramasūkṣmāṇi pañca mahābhūtāni tejaḥpradhānānyāśrayaḥ citrādivat āśrayaṃ vinā lokāntaragamanāsambhavāt | taduktaṃ saptatyām | citraṃ yathāśrayamṛte sthāṇvādibhyo vinā yathā chāyā / tadvadvinā viśeṣairna tiṣṭhati nirāśrayaṃ liṅgam // iti idaṃ ca liṅgaśarīramādau svayambhuvaḥ samaṣṭicetanasya upādhibhūtamekameva samaṣṭirūpaṃ jāyate tataśca vyaṣṭijīvānāmapyupādhibhūtāni vyaṣṭiliṅgaśarīrāṇi tadaṃśabhūtāni tato vibhajyante piturliṅgaśarīrāt puttraliṅgaśarīravat | taduktaṃ sāṃkhyapravacanasūtreṇa | vyaktibhedaḥ karmaviśeṣāditi | manunā 'pyuktam | teṣāṃ tvavayavān sūkṣmān ṣaṇṇāmapyamitaujasām / sanniveśyātmamātrāsu sarvabhūtāni nirmame // iti / ṣaṇṇāmiti ṣaḍindriyaṃ samastaliṅgaśarīropalakṣakam | tathā cāyamarthaḥ | svayambhūḥ svaliṅgaśarīrāvayavān sūkṣmānalpān ātmamātrāsu svāṃśacetaneṣu saṃyojya sarvaprāṇinaḥ sasarjeti | iti liṅgaśarīranirūpaṇam / atha sthūlaśarīrotpattiḥ | daśaguṇitamahattattvamadhye 'haṃkārastasminnapi daśaguṇe vyoma tathaiva vyomnyapi vāyuḥ vāyāvapi tejaḥ tejasi daśaguṇe jalaṃ tathaiva jalasyāpi daśaguṇasya madhye pṛthvī samutpadyate saiva sthūlaśarīrasya bījamaṇḍarūpeṇa pariṇamate | tasyāpi daśaguṇitasyāṇḍasya pṛthivyāvaraṇasya madhye caturdaśabhuvanātmakaṃ svayambhuvaḥ sthūlaśarīraṃ tatsaṅkalpādevotpadyate | tenaiva śarīreṇa svayambhūrnārāyaṇa ityucyate | svayambhuvaṃ prakṛtya manunā 'pyuktam | so 'bhidhyāya śarīrāt svāt sisṛkṣurvividhāḥ prajāḥ / apa eva sasarjādau tāsu bījamavāsṛjat // tadaṇḍamabhavaddhaimaṃ sahasrāṃśusamaprabham / tasmin jajñe svayaṃ brahmā sarvalokapitāmahaḥ // sa vai śarīrī prathamaḥ sa vai puruṣa ucyate / ādikartā sa bhūtānāṃ brahmāgre samavartata // āpo nārā iti proktā āpo vai narasūnavaḥ / tā yadasyāyanaṃ pūrvaṃ tena nārāyaṇaḥ smṛtaḥ // ityādineti | tata evādipuruṣādvyaṣṭipuruṣāṇāṃ vibhāgāt ante ca tatraiva layāt sa evaika ātmeti śrutismṛtyorvyavahriyate | tataśca sa nārāyaṇo virāṭśarīrī pṛthivīrūpasvanābhikamalakarṇikāsthānīyasya sumerorupari caturmukhamavāntarabrahmāṇaṃ sṛṣṭvā taddvārānyānapi vyaṣṭiśarīriṇaḥ sthāvarāntān sasarja | tathā ca smaryate | taccharīrasamutpannaiḥ kāryaistaiḥ karaṇaiḥ saha / kṣetrajñāḥ samajāyanta gātrebhyastasya dhīmataḥ // iti / yattu śeṣaśāyino nārāyaṇasya nābhikamalaśrotracakṣurādibhyaścaturmukhasyāvirbhāvaḥ śrūyate | taddainandinasargeṣveva hi kalpabhedena mantavyam | dainandinapralayeṣveva hi nārāyaṇaśarīre praviśyaikībhūya suptānāṃ devānāṃ caturmukhādikrameṇāvirbhāvaḥ śeṣaśāyinaḥ sakāśād ghaṭate na tvādisargeṣu | dainandinapralaya eva nārāyaṇasya līlāvigraheṇa śayanāditi | asyāṃ sṛṣṭau mahattattvasya buddhipūrvakaḥ triguṇātmakaḥ prathamaḥ sargaḥ | tadanantaraṃ tadupādhikasvayambhuvaḥ sakāśād buddhipūrvakaḥ sargaḥ | svayambhuvo 'ṅgadevatāḥ svayabhūśca sthūladehanairapekṣyeṇa jñānavattvāt videhā devā ityucyante | tāsu svayambhūreveśvaraḥ nityeśvarānaṅgīkārāt | devatāśceśvarakoṭayaḥ avidyānāvṛtopādhikatvāt | avidyāvṛtopādhikāśca jīvakoṭaya eva | avidyāvṛtānāvṛtopādhikatve eva jīveśvaravibhājake | taduktaṃ sa īśo yadvaśe māyā sa jīvo yastayārdita iti | tadevaṃ sañcaro nirūpitaḥ | tatra yadyasmājjāyate tasyetarāpūraṇenaiva sthitiḥ | tadvyatirekeṇaiva tatsaṃhāro 'pi tatraiva bhavati | tathā coktaṃ mahābhārate | yadyasmājjāyate tattvaṃ tattatra pravilīyate / līyante pratilomāni jāyante cottarottaram // iti / ete ca sṛṣṭisthitisaṃhārarūpāḥ sthūlā eva pariṇāmāḥ kūṭasthapuruṣavivekāya pradarśitāḥ | sūkṣmā apyeṣāṃ pariṇāmāḥ smaryante | yathā nityadāhyaṅgabhūtāni bhavanti na bhavanti ca / kālenālakṣyavegena sūkṣmatvāttanna dṛśyate // iti / ata eva sarvaṃ jaḍavastu paramārthataḥ sarvadaiva asaducyate | tataśca tasmājjaḍavargādvirajyātmaiva paramārthasatyo duḥkhabhīrubhirdraṣṭavyaḥ | paramārthasatyaṃ ca kūṭasthanityatvam | tatra kūṭasthanityatvāsaṃhatatvāparārthatvacinmātratvādyasādhāraṇādharmairutkṛṣṭaiḥ prakṛtyādibhyo vivektavyaḥ | idānīṃ sadevetyādiśrutyartha upapādyate | pratisañcarānte yannirviśeṣaṃ citsāmānyamavaśiṣyate | tadeva sadeva saumyedamagra āsīt ekamevādvitīyaṃ brahmetyādiśrutiṣu sadbrahmādipadavācyam | advitiyatvaṃ tu avaidharmyāvibhāgākhyābhedeneti | idānīmantakālīnabhagavatsmaraṇasya paramagatihetutvaśravaṇāt tatsmaraṇasya ca sādhyātmasādhibhūtasādhidaivabhagavadanucintanajanyatvādadhyātmādivibhāgaḥ pradarśyate sūtratrayeṇa | tatra ca pramāṇam | antakāle ca māmeva smaranmuktvā kalevaram / yaḥ prayāti sa madbhāvaṃ yāti nāstyatra saṃśayaḥ // iti sādhibhūtādhidaivaṃ māṃ sādhiyajñaṃ ca ye viduḥ / prayāṇakāle 'pi ca māṃ te viduryuktacetasaḥ // iti / [adhyātmam || tats_7 ||] gandho 'dhibhūtam | pṛthivī tatrādhidaivatam | vāgadhyātmam | vacanamadhibhūtam | vahnistatrādhidaivatam | pāṇiradhyātmam | ādeyamadhibhūtam | indrastatrādhidaivatam | pādāvadhyātmam | gantavyamadhibhūtam | viṣṇustatrādhidaivatam / pāyuradhyātmam | utsraṣṭavyamadhibhūtam | mitrastatrādhidaivatam | upasthamadhyātmam | ānandayitavyamadhibhūtam | prajāpatistatrādhidaivatamiti trayodaśavidhaṃ tritayamapi | tatrātmānaṃ saṅghātamadhikṛtya vartate tadadhyātmaṃ trayodaśakaraṇavargaḥ | bhūtāni adhikṛtya vartate tadadhibhūtaṃ viṣayavargaḥ | devatāmadhikṛtya vartata ityadhidaivatam karaṇābhimānidevatāvargaḥ etatsahiteśvarānucintitasyāntakālīnabhagavatsmṛtyā paramagatiḥ phalam | tasmādetattrikamavaśyaṃ jñātavyamiti bhāvaḥ | sarvatattvānāṃ jñānaphalaṃ coktaṃ pañcaśikhadhṛtavākyena | tattvāni yo vedayate yathāvad guṇasvarūpāṇyadhidaivataṃ ca / vimuktapāpmā gatadoṣasaṅgho guṇāṃstu bhuṅkte na guṇaiḥ sa bhujyate // tattvānīti tāntrikī saṃjñā | tadarthaścātmānātmavivekapratiyogyanuyoginastatpadārthāḥ teṣāṃ bhāvastattatpadapravṛttinimittāni puruṣatvaprakṛtitvādīni pañcaviṃśatijātayaḥ dharmadharmyabhedāt vyaktayo 'pi tattvānītyucyante | vedayate vettītyarthaḥ | guṇāḥ sattvarajastamāṃsi tānyeva svarūpāṇi tāttvikarūpāṇi yeṣāṃ tāni guṇasvarūpāṇi adhidaivatañca adhyātmādhibhūtayorupalakṣaṇam | guṇāṃstu bhuṅkte guṇāstasya vaśe bhavantīti | na guṇaiḥ sa bhujyate guṇavaśo na bhavatītyarthaḥ || iti tattvapādaḥ prathamaḥ // idānīṃ dvitīyaḥ prakīrṇakapāda ārabhyate | tatra pañcasroto 'mbuṃ pañcayonyugracakrāṃ pañcaprāṇormiṃ pañcabuddhyādimūlām pañcāvarttāṃ pañcaduḥkhaughavegāṃ pañcāśadbhedāṃ pañcaparvāmadhīma ityādiśrutyarthopapattaye pañcakāni nirūpayati sūtrajātena || [pañcābhibuddhayaḥ || tats_10 ||] karmajanakāśca dhṛtiḥ śraddhā sukhā 'vividiṣā vividiṣā ceti pañca || vāci karmaṇi saṅkalpe pratiṣṭhāṃ yo 'bhirakṣati / tanniṣṭhastatpratiṣṭhaśca dhṛteretaddhi lakṣaṇam // anasūyā brahmacaryaṃ yajanaṃ yājanaṃ tapaḥ / dānaṃ pratigraho homaḥ śraddhāyā lakṣaṇaṃ smṛtam // arthārthī yastu seveta vidyākarmatapāṃsi ca / prāyaścittaparo nityaṃ sukheyaṃ parikīrttitā // avividiṣā vedavedanecchāpratibandhakakriyā // vividiṣā yathā / ekatvaṃ ca pṛthaktvaṃ ca nityaṃ cedamacetanam / sūkṣmaṃ satkāryamakṣobhyaṃ jñeyā vividiṣā hi sā // ātmani ekatvapṛthaktvādiviṣayiṇī jijñāsā vividiṣā | etāsu catasro bandhāya vividiṣaikā mokṣāya jñānamokṣapratibandhanāśakakarmajanyatvājjanakatvācca || [pañca vāyavaḥ || tats_12 ||] hṛdi prāṇo gude 'pāno vyānaḥ sarvaśarīragaḥ / udānaḥ kaṇṭhadeśe ca samāno nābhisaṃsthitaḥ // ete pañca kriyāśaktimadantaḥkaraṇavṛttibhedā api vāyusamānagatikatvādvāyudevatākatvācca vāyava ityuktam | prakarṣeṇa ananādgamanāt prāṇa ityucyate | adho gamanādapānaḥ | bhuktasyānnasya rasādervikṣepaṇāt vijṛmbhaṇācca vyāna ityucyate | udgāravamanādikaṃ karotīti udānastena gīyate | bhuktasya samāśaṃ rasaṃ nayatīti samānaḥ | tantrāntaroktā apyanye nāgakūrmakṛkaladevadattadhanañjayākhyāstatraivāntarbhāvyāḥ || ityete pañcaprāṇāḥ vyākhyātāḥ || [pañca karmātmānaḥ || tats_13 ||] vaikārikastaijaso bhūtādiḥ sānumāno niranumānaśceti karmātmānaḥ karmiṇa ityarthaḥ | tatra vaikārikaḥ śubhakarmakarttā | taijaso 'śubhakarmakarttā | bhūtādirmūḍhakarmakarttā | sānumānaḥ śubhamūḍhakarmakarttā | niranumāno 'śubhamūḍhakarmakarttā || iti pañca karmātmāno vyākhyātāḥ || idānīṃ pañcāśadbhedāṃ pañcaparvāmadhīma iti śrutyarthopapattaye buddheḥ pañcāśatsargān bahubhiḥ sūtrairuddiśati | [pañcaparvāvidyā || tats_14 ||] anityāśuciduḥkhānātmasu nityaśucisukhātmakhyātiravidyā patañjalyuktā sarvadarśanasampratipannā | sā ca pañcadhā avidyāsmitārāgadveṣābhiniveśāḥ kleśajanakatvāt kleśā iti yoge paribhāṣitāḥ | asmitādīnāṃ caturṇāmavidyākāryatvādavidyātvam | asmitā anātmanyahaṃvṛttiḥ avidyāsmitayorayaṃ bhedaḥ avidyāyāmadhikaraṇamapi pṛthag bhāsate 'smitāyāṃ tvāroparūpatve 'pi nādhikaraṇaṃ bhāsate | viṣayeṣūtkaṭecchā rāgaḥ | dveṣaḥ vairabuddhiḥ | abhiniveśo maraṇatrāsaḥ | viduṣāmapi svarasavāhī anādimaraṇaduḥkhānubhavajanitavāsanājanyaḥ śrutismṛtipurāṇeṣu ete avidyābhedāstamaādiśabdaiḥ paribhāṣitāḥ | tamo moho mahāmohastāmisro 'ndhatāmiśraśceti tattannāmakanarakapradatvāttattannāmakāḥ | te ca viṣayabhedāt dviṣaṣṭibhedāḥ te yathā | aṣṭaprakṛtiṣu ātmatvāropāt aṣṭabhedaṃ tamaḥ | devā aṇimādyaṣṭavidhamaiśvaryamāsādya vayamamṛtā ityabhimānino bhavanti so 'yamabhimāno moho 'ṣṭāvidhaḥ | dṛṣṭānuśravikeṣu dvādaśasu viṣayeṣu prāpteṣu mukto 'hamiti manyate so 'bhimāno rāgātiśayanimittatvāt mahāmoho daśavidhaḥ | aṇimādyaṣṭaguṇaiśvarye daśavidhaviṣaye ca pratihatasya krodhād yadduḥkhamutpadyate sa tāmisro 'ṣṭādaśavidhaḥ | devā aṇimādyaṣṭakamaiśvaryaṃ śabdādīṃśca daśa viṣayān bhuñjānāḥ kṣayaśaṅkayā 'tra santi satāsa evāṣṭādaśavidho 'ndhatāmiśra iti dviṣaṣṭibhedā pañcaparvā avidyā || [aṣṭaviṃśatidhāśaktiḥ || tats_15 ||] [navadhā tuṣṭiḥ || tats_16 ||] [aṣṭadhā tathā / mūkatā kauṇyapaṅgutvaṃ klaibyodāvarttamugdhatāḥ // saptadaśa buddhereva vadhāḥ tuṣṭisiddhīnāṃ viparyayarūpāḥ | tatra tuṣṭiviparyayāḥ | nāsti pradhānamiti jñānamastītyabhidhīyate | mahattattvaṃ nāstīti jñānamajñānasalilāḥ | ahaṅkāro nāstīti mohā | naiva santi pañcatanmātrāṇīti dṛṣṭiradṛṣṭiḥ | viṣayāṇāmarjjane pravṛttiḥ asutārā | rakṣaṇe pravṛttirasupārā | kṣayadoṣamapaśyataḥ pravṛttiḥ asunetrā | bhoge śaktiḥ asumātrikā | hiṃsādoṣamapaśyato bhoge pravṛttiḥ anuttamāmbhasikā | iti tuṣṭiviparyayā navadhā | siddhiviparyāsād aṣṭau buddhivadhā ucyante | nānātvamūhamānasyaikatvānusandhānaṃ sutāramucyate | śabdamātraśravaṇādviparītagrahaṇamasutārā | yathā nānātmajño mukta iti śrutvā viparītaṃ pratipanno nānātmajño 'hamamukta iti | adhyayanaśravaṇaniviṣṭasyāpi jaḍatvādasacchāstropahatabuddhitvādvā pañcaviṃśatitattvajñānasiddhirna bhavati tadajñānam | yadā ādhyātmikena duḥkhena cābhibhūyate tadajñānapramādam | evamādhibhautikaduḥkhenābhibhūyate tatpramodamānam | evamādhidaivikaduḥkhenābhibhavaḥ pramuditamiti | suhṛdupadiṣṭe 'pyātmani aniścayabuddhiranarthakam | svadānamanarthakaṃ jñātvā dānapātrasya guruṇi duḥkhe jāte pramodaḥ pramuditā | evamaṣṭau siddhiviparyayā vyākhyātā | evaṃ saptadaśa buddhivadhāḥ || navadhā tuṣṭirucyate | tatra kārikā | ādhyātmikyaścatasraḥ prakṛtyupādānakālabhāgyākhyāḥ / bāhyāḥ viṣayoparamāt pañca nava tuṣṭayo 'bhihitāḥ // kutaścit sarvākāreṇa pariṇamamānā prakṛtireva jñānaṃ kariṣyatīti śrutvā yā tuṣṭiḥ sā prakṛtyākhyā tasyā asteti saṃjñā | pravrajyayaiva jñānaṃ bhaviṣyatīti śrutvā pravrajyopādānena yā tuṣṭiḥ sā salilasaṃjñā | kālenaiva jñānaṃ bhaviṣyatīti śrutvā pravrajyayā bahukālena yā tuṣṭiḥ sā ādyetyucyate | bhāgyenaiva jñānaṃ bhaviṣyati madālasā bālakānāmiveti kutaścicchrutvā yā tuṣṭiḥ sā vṛṣṭiritisaṃjñā | etāścatasra ādhyātmikyaḥ | atha bāhyāḥ pañca śabdādiviṣayeṣvarjanarakṣaṇakṣayabhogahiṃsādidoṣadarśanādyā nivṛttituṣṭayastāsvekā tuṣṭiḥ apāramucyate dvitīyā supāraṃ tṛtīyā pāram anuttamāmbhasikā caturthī uttamāmbhaḥ pañcamī iti nava tuṣṭayo vyākhyātāḥ || athāṣṭau siddhayaḥ | tatra kārikā | ūhaḥ śabdo 'dhyayanaṃ duḥkhavighātāstrayaḥ suhṛtprāptiḥ / dānaṃ ca siddhayo 'ṣṭau siddheḥ pūrvo 'ṅkuśastrividhaḥ // asyārthaḥ | bhagavatkṛpāvaśādūhanena tarkeṇaiva jñānamutpadyate sā prathamā siddhistāretyucyate | śabdaśravaṇamātrādeva yad jñānaṃ sā dvitīyā sutārā | śiṣyabhāvenādhyayanena yad jñānaṃ sā tṛtīyā tāratāreti | yadādhyātmikaduḥkhasyāpanodakaṃ jñānaṃ sā caturthī pramodeti | yadādhibhautikaduḥkhāpanodakaṃ jñānaṃ sā pañcamī pramutiteti | yadādhidaivikaduḥkhanāśakaṃ jñānaṃ sā ṣaṣṭhī pramodamānā | yat suhṛtsaṃsargitayā jñānaṃ sā saptamī ramyaketi | yaddānena paritoṣitād gurorjñānaṃ sāṣṭamī sadāmuditeti | āsu prathamāstisro duḥkhavighātātmakānāṃ mukhyānāṃ tisḥṇāṃ siddhīnāmaṅkuśa ākarṣakaḥ sādhaka iti yāvat siddhayastvetā eva | aṇimādyāstu jñānapratibandhakatvādasiddhaya evetyācāryāśayaḥ | evamaṣṭau siddhayo vyākhyātāḥ || idānīṃ sāṃkhyaśāstrasya ṣaṣṭitantratvapratipādanāya pañcāśatsu siddhisargeṣu daśānyān pūrayati sūtreṇa | [daśa mūlikārthāḥ || tats_18 ||] astitvamekatvamayathārthavattvaṃ parārthamanyatvamakartṛtā ca / yogo viyogo bahavaḥ pumāṃsaḥ sthitiḥ śarīrasya ca śeṣavṛttiḥ // mūlayoḥ prakṛtipuruṣayorarthā dharmā mūlikārthāḥ | tatrāstitvaṃ dvayordharmaḥ ekatvaṃ sargabhedena nānātvābhāvarūpaṃ prakṛteḥ | arthavattvaṃ puruṣārthatvaṃ puruṣasyaiva | pārārthyaṃ ca prakṛtereva | anyatvaṃ jaḍavargād bhinnatvaṃ puruṣasyaiva | akartṛtā ca puruṣasyaiva | yogo viyogaśca dvayoḥ | bahutvaṃ puruṣasyaiva | jīvanmuktasya saṃskāramātreṇa cakrabhramivaccharīrasya yā sthitiḥ sā śeṣavṛttiḥ puruṣasya | iti daśapadārthāḥ pratyayasargākhyāḥ pañcāśat pūrvoktāḥ ete ca daśa mūlikāḥ | evaṃ ṣaṣṭipadārthā ṣaṣṭitantre uktāḥ || idānīṃ pañcatanmātrasargaṃ sūtrayati | [anugrahasargaḥ || tats_19 ||] pañcatanmātrā anugṛhyopādānakāraṇatvena svīkṛtya yaḥ sargaḥ so 'nugrahasargaḥ | pañcānāṃ brāhmaṇānāṃ sacaturmukhasanakādīnāṃ svasya līlāvigrahe sargo bhaktānamanugrahārthaṃ so 'pyanugrahasargaḥ pañcatanmātrebhya eva || idānīṃ bhūtasargamāha | [caturdaśavidho bhūtasargaḥ || tats_20 ||] brāhmaprājāpatyasaumyaindragāndharvayakṣarākṣasapaiśācā ityaṣṭau devasargāḥ | paśupakṣimṛgasarīsṛpasthāvarā iti pañcavidhāstairyagyonayaḥ | mānuṣaścaikavidho brāhmaṇādiścaṇḍālānta iti | gavādimūṣakāntāḥ paśavaḥ | garuḍādimaśakāntāḥ pakṣiṇaḥ | siṃhādiśṛgālāntā mṛgāḥ | śeṣādidundubhāntāḥ sarīsṛpāḥ | parvatāditṛṇāntāḥ sthāvarā iti | atra kārikā | aṣṭavidho daivastairyagyona(ya)śca pañcadhā bhavati / mānuṣaścaikavidhaḥ samasato bhautikaḥ sargaḥ // iti / etatsaṃsāramaṇḍalam anyānapyanuktān sargānuddiśati sūtratrayeṇa / [trividho bandhaḥ || tats_21 ||] [trividho mokṣaḥ || tats_22 gṛhasthādīnāṃ kāmopahatacetasāṃ dakṣiṇāṃ dadatāṃ dakṣiṇābandhaḥ | uktaṃ ca pañcaśikhācāryaiḥ || prākṛtena tu bandhena tathā vaikārikeṇa ca / dakṣiṇābhistṛtīyena baddho janturvivartate // iti mokṣatraividhyaṃ coktam | ādau tu mokṣo jñānena dvitīyo rāgasaṃkṣayāt / kṛcchrakṣayāt tṛtīyastu vyākhyātaṃ mokṣalakṣaṇam // jñānodrekādavidyānivṛttirūpa ekaḥ rāgasaṃkṣayādindriyopaśamarūpo dvitīyaḥ kṛcchrakṣayāddharmādharmakaraṇarūpāddharmādharmānutpādarūpastṛtīyaḥ | etattrayaṃ jñānadvārabhūtatvād gauṇaṃ mokṣatrayam | ātyantikatrividhaduḥkhanivṛttireva mukhyo mokṣaḥ | taduktaṃ gotamena sūtreṇa duḥkhajanmapravṛttidoṣamithyājñānānāmuttarottarāpāye tadanantarābhāvādapavarga iti / uktānāṃ padārthānāṃ siddhyarthaṃ pramāṇānyāha mānādhīnatvānmeyasiddheḥ | trividhaṃ pramāṇamiti | pratyakṣānumānaśabdā iti | tatrānadhigatayathārthajñānaṃ pramā tatkaraṇaṃ pramāṇamiti sāmānyalakṣaṇamekam | arthākārānadhigatayathārthāntaḥkaraṇavṛttiriti dvitīyam | tatra pratyakṣamindriyajanyamanadhigatayathārthajñānaṃ pratyakṣapramā | tatkaraṇaṃ pratyakṣapramāṇam | indriyajanyānadhigatayathārthāntaḥkaraṇavṛttiriti dvitīyam | yathārthaliṅgajñānājjāyamānaṃ jñānamanumitistatkaraṇamanumānamityekam | liṅgajñānājjāyamānā sādhyaviśiṣṭapakṣākārāntaḥkaraṇavṛttiriti dvitīyam | āptavacanajanyajñānaṃ śabdapramā tatkaraṇaṃ śabdapramāṇamityekaṃ lakṣaṇam | āptavacanajanyā padārthāsaṃsargākārāntaḥkaraṇavṛttiriti dvitīyaṃ śabdapramāṇalakṣaṇam | āptastu svakarmaṇyabhiyukto rāgadveṣarahito jñānavān śīlasampannaḥ | idaṃ tu jñānopadeṣṭurevāptalakṣaṇam vastuto yathābhūtārthasyopadeṣṭā puruṣa ityeva /| uktapadārtheṣu kecitpratyakṣasiddhāḥ kecitanumānasiddhāḥ | ubhābhyāṃ yanna siddhaṃ tacchabdapramāṇena sidhyati yathendro devānāṃ rājā uttarāḥ kuravaḥ sauvarṇo meruḥ svarge 'psarasaḥ ete padārthā na pratyakṣānumānagamyāḥ kintu śabdaikagamyāḥ / atra caiṣā jñānaprakriyā | antaḥkaraṇasyendriyāṇāṃ cāvibhaktaḥ saṅkocavikāsaśālyagrabhāgo vṛttirabhyupeyate bhāgaguṇābhyāṃ tattvāntaraṃ vṛttiḥ sambandhārthaṃ sarpatīti sāṃkhyapravacanasūtrāt | bhāgo vibhakto 'vayavastasmādguṇācca tattvāntaraṃ padārthāntaramavibhakto 'vayava ityarthaḥ | tathā cāntaḥkaraṇavṛttirindriyavṛttidvārārthasannikṛṣṭā bhavati tata indriyavṛttyā sahārthākārā pariṇamate sā cārthākārā vṛttirguṇarūpā sarvātmanāṃ vibhutve 'pi svasvāminyevātmani pratibimbate nānyatra abādisvasvāmibhāvasya pratibimbaniyāmakatvāt anyathā 'tiprasaṅgāt pratibimbaścādhiṣṭhānagatāyā buddhervikāraḥ pariṇāmaḥ svattvaṃ ca svāmiprakāśitavṛttijanyasaṃskāravattvam | svāmitvaṃ ca svaniṣṭhasaṃskārajanakavṛttiprakāśakatvaṃ sā ca vṛttirātmani sthitā satī arthākārā ātmākārā ca svasamānākāraṃ pariṇāmāntaraṃ dhatte sa evātmani vṛttipratibimbo viṣayatākhyaḥ sambandha iti tadavacchinnaṃ caitanyaṃ pratyakṣapramā ghaṭamahaṃ jānāmītyākārārthātmaviṣayiṇī taduktam // adṛśyo dṛśyate rāhurgṛhītena yathendunā / tathā 'nubhavamātrātmā dṛśyenātmā 'valokyate // dṛśyena vṛttyā | iyaṃ ca pratyakṣā vṛttirviṣayadeśe jāyamānā tatraivātmani pratibimbate ātmano vibhutvāt yatra cendriyadvāraṃ vinā manaḥ svavāsanāvaśādyatrārthena sambaddhyate tatra tadākārā vṛttirmānasaṃ pratyakṣam | uktaṃ ca | śarīralayamutsṛjya yatra cittavihaṅgamaḥ / svavāsanāvaśādyāti tatraivātmā 'nubhūyate // iti vāsiṣṭhe | iti pratyakṣaprakriyā || evaṃ vyāptipramājanyasādhyaviśiṣṭapakṣākārā vuttiranumānam tatpratibimbāvacchinnacaitanyamanumitiḥ | ityanumānaprakriyā || yathārthapadasmṛtijanyā padārthasaṃsargākārā vṛttiḥ śabdapramāṇam tatpratibimbāvacchinnacaitanyaṃ śābdī pramā idaṃ pramāṇadvayamāntarameva | aparokṣatvaṃ parokṣatvaṃ smṛtitvaṃ saṃśayatvaṃ viparyayatvaṃ pramātvamapramātvaṃ ca sarve vṛttidharmā eva tatpratibimbavaśāccaitanye 'pyupacaryante tatrāparokṣatvaparokṣatvasmṛtitvāni jātayaḥ saṃśayaśca bhāsamānavirodhobhayakoṭispṛgvṛttiḥ | yatra yannāsti tatra tanniścayo viparyayaḥ yathārthavṛttiḥ pramā ayathārthavṛtirapramā atra pramātrādivibhāgaviṣaye vijñānācāryāṇāṃ kārikā | pramātā cetanaḥ śuddhaḥ pramāṇaṃ vṛttireva ca / pramārthākāravṛttīnāṃ cetane pratibimbanam // pratibimbitavṛttīnāṃ viṣayo meya ucyate / vṛttayaḥ sākṣibhāsyāḥ syuḥ karaṇasyānapekṣaṇāt // sākṣāddarśanarūpaṃ ca sākṣitvaṃ sāṃkhyasūtritam // iti / jñānasya ca janyatvaṃ vināśitvamātmadharmatvaṃ ca pratibimbāvacchinnatvenopapādanīyam ātmarūpasya jñānasya nityatvāt | viśiṣṭe hi vidhiniṣedhau viśeṣaṇamupasaṃkrāmataḥ sati viśeṣye bādha iti nyāyāt | ādhārādheyabhāvo 'pi khe khagodaya itivadupapādanīyaḥ vṛttīnāmātmani pratibimbe pramāṇam | tasmiṃśca darpaṇe sphāre samastāṃ vastudṛṣṭayaḥ / imāstāḥ pratibimbanti sarasīva taṭadrumāḥ // iti vāsiṣṭham | iti samāsato jñānaprakriyā || atra śāstre 'nuktāḥ svāvirodhinaḥ śāstrāntarīyā api padārthāḥ grāhyāḥ sārādānaṃ ṣaṭpadavaditi sāṃkhyapravacanasūtrāt | sarvataḥ sāramādadyāt puṣpebhya iva ṣaṭpada iti smṛteśca | ete ca prakṛtyādayaḥ padārthāḥ saṃhatatvapadārthatvajaḍatvapratikṣaṇapariṇāmitvādidoṣairduṣṭatvāddheyāstebhyo 'pyadhikaṃ heyamāha | [trividhaṃ duḥkham || tats_24 ||] ādhyātmikāmadhibhautikamādhidaivikaṃ ceti | tatrādhyātmikaṃ dvividhaṃ śārīraṃ mānasaṃ ca | tatra śārīraṃ vātapittaśleṣmaṇāṃ vaiṣamyeṇotpannaṃ jvarātisārādi | kāmakrodhalobhādijanyaṃ mānasaṃ mānuṣamṛgasarpādijanyamādhibhautikaṃ śītoṣṇavātavṛṣṭijanyamādhidaivikam | anena trividhaduḥkhenābhibhūtasya tarati śokamātmaviditi śrutvā ātmani jijñāsā jāyate | yathā tṛṣitasya pānīyapipāsā | kṛtasya tattvanirūpaṇasya puruṣārthasambandhaṃ darśayati | [etatparaṃ yāthārthyaṃ etajjñātvā kṛtakṛtyaḥ syānna punastrividhaduḥkhenābhibhūyate || tats_25 ||] etadyāthārthyaṃ paraṃ śāstrāntaroktādyāthārthyādutkṛṣṭaṃ nyāyavaiśeṣikoktayāthārthyasyāṣṭaprakṛtyakathanādapūrṇatvam idaṃ tu tatkathanena pūrṇaṃ śrutisammatatvācca paraṃ sarvotkṛṣṭamityarthaḥ | śrutiśca gopālatāpanīye ekamevādvitīyaṃ brahmāsīt tasmādavyaktādavyaktamevākṣaraṃ tasmānmahanmahato 'haṅkārastataḥ pañcatanmātrāṇi tebhyo bhūtāni iti spaṣṭameva sāṃkhyayogoktamahadādikrameṇa sṛṣṭiḥ śrūyata iti | etajjñātvā ātmānātmavivekasākṣātkāradvārā kṛtakṛtyaḥ syānniṣprayojanaḥ syādityarthaḥ | kiṃ punastatprayojanaṃ tatrāha | na punastrividhaduḥkhenābhibhūyata iti | pūrvoktatrividhaduḥkhena na yujyate duḥkhātyantanivṛttirūpo mokṣo bhavatītyarthaḥ | nanu duḥkhaṃ tāvat trividham anāgataṃ vartamānamatītaṃ ceti | sāṃkhyayogavedāntānāṃ satkāryavādāśrayaṇāt sarvameva kāryamavasthātrayeṇa nityam | anāgato ghaṭo varttamāno ghaṭo 'tīto ghaṭa ityavasthātraye 'pi ghaṭasyāvasthādharmiṇo 'nugatapratyayāt | prāgabhāvapradhvaṃsayoścānaṅgīkārāt | na ca tatkāle kathamabhāvapratyaya iti vācyam varttamānapratiyogikasāmayikātyantābhāvenaiva tadupapatteriti | evaṃ cānagatātītaduḥkhayorabhāve 'pi na puruṣārthaḥ bhogyaduḥkhābhāvasyaiva puruṣārthatvāt | vartamānaduḥkhaṃ ca bhogyamapi bhogenaiva naṅkṣyatīti tadabhāvo na puruṣārthaḥ puruṣaprayatnanirapekṣatvāt puruṣaprayatnasāpekṣasyaiva puruṣārthatvāt tathā ca kathaṃ duḥkhābhāvasya bhogyahetutayā tadabhāvasya ca puruṣakṛtisādhyatayā puruṣārthatvaṃ duḥkhahetūcchede puruṣavyāparāt prāyaścittavaditi | taduktaṃ patañjalinā | heyaṃ duḥkhamanāgataṃ vivekakhyātiravitpravā hānopāya iti sūtradvayena / sāṃkhyānāṃ ca sarvātmanāmavaidharmyābheda eva tattvamasivākyārtho nāvibhāgādiḥ tajjñānasyaivābhimānanivarttakatvāt | tadvākyasya ca śvetaketoranūcānatvādyabhimānanivṛttyarthameva pravṛtteḥ tathā ca layāvaśiṣṭacitsāmānyaṃ tatpadārthaḥ taduktaṃ vijñānācāryavaryairasmadgurubhirbhāṣyādyaślokena / eko 'dvitīya iti vedavacāṃsi puṃsi sarvābhimānavinivartanato 'sya muktyai / vaidharmyalakṣaṇabhidā virahaṃ vadanti nākhaṇḍatāṃ kha iva dharmaśatāvirodhāt // iti / tathā caprakṛtyādiviviktasarvātmanāmavaidharmyabhedasākṣātkārāt kartṛtvādyabhimānanivṛttau tatkāryarāgadveṣadharmādyanutpādāt pūrvotpannakarmaṇāṃ cāvidyārāgādisahakāryucchedena janmādyanārambhakatvādbhogena prārabdhasamāptyanantaraṃ punarjanmābhāvena bhogāpavargasamāptyā cāntaḥkaraṇasya nāśenaiva trividhaduḥkhātyantanivṛttirūpo mokṣo bhavatīti paramakṛtakṛtyatā | idaṃ cātrāvadheyam | gurūpadeśaśāstrābhyāmutpannamapi jñānamaparokṣatvāyābhyasanīyameva | tena vinā 'parokṣāvidyānivṛttyasambhavāt | aparokṣyabhrame hi samānaviśeṣyakā 'parokṣyaviparītaniścayasyaiva nivartakatvāvadhāraṇāt taduktaṃ vāsiṣṭhe | api vijñātatattvena netyabhyasyamidaṃ sadā / na nāmamātrāt katakaphalamambuprasādhakam // antardhvāntavināśāya śābdabodho na hi kṣamaḥ / na naśyati tamo rāma kṛtayā dīpavārtayā // iti / evamabhyāsāt komalakaṇṭakanyāyena jñāne jāte yogarūḍha ityucyate yogī asmāt pūrvastu yuñjānaḥ tataḥ paramahaṃsāśrameṇa vikṣepakāṇi karmāṇi tyaktvā jñānaniṣṭhāparyantamabhyaset | savāsanāvidyocchedo jñānaniṣṭhā | tataḥ sa yukto jīvanmukto guṇātīta iti cocyate | guṇābhimānaśūnyatvameva guṇātītatvaṃ jīvanmuktasya ca lakṣaṇam | nodeti nāstamāyāti sukhaduḥkhe mukhaprabhā / yathāpūrvasthitiryasya sa jīvanmukta ucyate // rāgadveṣabhayādīnāmanurūpaṃ carannapi / yo 'ntarvyomavadasvacchaḥ sa jīvanmukta ucyate // etāvadeva khalu liṅgamaliṅgamūrtteḥ saṃśāntasaṃsṛticirabhramanirvṛtasya / tajjñasya yanmadanakopaviṣādamohalobhāpadāmanudinaṃ nipuṇaṃ tanutvam // iti anyaccātra sāṃkhyavidyāyāṃ bhagavadbhakterevāsādhāraṇakāraṇatvaṃ jñeyam anyathā devakṛtavighnairyogadhvaṃso bhavatyeva yathoktaṃ bhāgavate | ye 'nye 'ravindākṣa vimuktamāninastvayyastabhāvādaviśuddhabuddhayaḥ / āruhya kṛcchreṇa paraṃ padaṃ tataḥ patantyadho 'nādṛtayuṣmadaṅdhrayaḥ // śreyaḥśrutiṃ bhaktimudasya te vibho kliśyanti ye kevalabodhalabdhaye / teṣāmasau kleśala eva śiṣyate nānyadyathā sthūlatuṣāvaghātinām // iti / idānīṃtanāḥ kecana vaiṣṇavā etādṛśavākyairbhagavadbhaktiṃ puraskṛtya sāmānyato jñānamārgaṃ khaṇḍayati te tu vidyāvivekānabhijñāḥ sthūlamataya eva | nāradīye ca sāṃkhyavidyādhikāre | māyāpravartake viṣṇau kṛtā bhaktirdṛḍhā nṛṇām / sukhena prakṛteranyaṃ svaṃ darśayati dīpavat // citte hi svavaśe yogaḥ siddhyet tattu jagatpatim / ko 'nāśritya nigṛhṇīyādavyaktamaticañcalam // tasmānmumukṣoḥ susukho mārgaḥ śrīviṣṇusaṃśrayaḥ / cittena cintayānena vañcyate dhruvamanyathā // iti / gītāyāṃ caturdaśādhyāye / māṃ ca yo 'vyabhicāreṇa bhaktiyogena sevate / sa guṇān samatītyaiva brahmabhūyāya kalpyate // iti / brahmabhūyāya pūrṇatvenābhivyaktaye guṇābhidhānaṃ tattadavacchinnatvenaivābhivyajyate tasmād bhagavadbhaktireva mukhyaṃ sādhanaṃ sāṃkhyayogavidyāyāmiti siddham | kṛtaṃ paropakārāya tattvayāthārthyadīpanam / tena me prīyatāṃ kṛṣṇaḥ paramātmā jagadguruḥ // svatantratvāt sa evaikaḥ kartā gopālabālakaḥ / śrīkṛṣṇākhyo maheśāno dāruyantrasamastvaham // purāṇārthaṃ bubhutsūnāṃ *** ca mayeritam / tebhyaṃ samarpitaṃ caitat tenāpi prīyatāṃ hariḥ // iti śrībhāvāviśvanāthadīkṣitasūnubhāvāgaṇeśaviracitaṃ tattvayāthārthyadīpanaṃ samāptam ||
