ŚĀ 2,1 hiṃkāreṇa pratipadyata etad uktham | prāṇo vai hiṃkāraḥ prāṇenaivaitad ukthaṃ pratipadyate | atho ūrg vai raso hiṃkāra ūrjam eva tad rasam etasmin ukthe dadhāti / atho amṛtatvaṃ vai hiṃkāro 'mṛtatvam eva tad ātman dhatte | rājanaṃ pṛṣṭhaṃ bhavati | etad vai pratyakṣaṃ sāma yad rājanam | tad enat svena sāmnā samardhayati | tad aniruktāsu bhavati | anirukta u vai prajāpatiḥ | tat prājāpatyaṃ rūpam | kavatīṣu syād iti haika āhuḥ | ko vai prajāpatiḥ | tat prājāpatyaṃ rūpam | athaitaṃ tūṣṇīṃśaṃsam upāṃśu śaṃsati | vāg vā etad ahar manas tūṣṇīṃśaṃsaḥ | manasaiva tad vācaṃ samardhayati | tad id āsa bhuvaneṣu jyeṣṭham iti stotriyastṛcaḥ | vāvṛdhānaḥ śavasā bhūryojā iti vṛdhavan mahadvat | mahadvad dhyetad ahaḥ | sa eṣa ātmā pañcaviṃśaḥ | tan nadenupasṛṣṭaṃ śaṃsati | ātmā vai pañcaviṃśaḥ prajā paśava upasargaḥ | prajayaiva tat paśubhiḥ preṣyair annādyenetyātmānam upasṛjate | nadaṃ va odatīnām iti traiṣṭubhāni pūrvāṇi padāni karoti nadasyottarāṇi | prathamena traiṣṭubhena padena prathamaṃ nadasya padam uṣasamādhāyāvasyati | dvitīyena traiṣṭubhena dvitīyaṃ saṃdhāya praṇauti | tṛtīyena traiṣṭubhena tṛtīyaṃ saṃdhāyāvasyati | caturthena traiṣṭubhena caturthaṃ saṃdhāya praṇauti | evaṃ vihṛtāṃ prathamāṃ triḥ śaṃsati, parācīr uttarā evaṃ vihṛtā eva | yā tṛtīyā sūktasya tasyā uttaram ardharcam utsṛjati nadasya cottaram | so 'yaṃ mukhasya vivaras tena vācaṃ vadati mukhena vai vācaṃ vadati | tau purastād dvipadānāṃ śaṃsati tathā hāsya stotriyānantarhitā bhavatyātmānaṃ śastvā | atha sūdadohasaṃ parvāṇi saṃhitāni bhavanti | atho āpo vai sūdadohā adbhir vā imāni parvāṇi saṃhitāni bhavanti | atho amṛtatvaṃ vai sūdadohā amṛtatvaṃ eva tad ātman dhatte | atha vai sūdadohāsyaitad rūpam | tad yathā ha vai dāruṇaḥ śleṣma saṃśleṣaṇaṃ syāt paricarmaṇyaṃ vaivam tṛcāśītir evasūdadohāḥ sarveṣāṃ vedānāṃ śaṃśleṣiṇī ||
ŚĀ 2,2 athetāni śīrṣṇyāni śaṃsati | tāni vai trīṇi tṛcāni bhavanti | trīṇi vā asya śīrṣṇaḥ kapālāni bhavanti | tānyevaitaiḥ saṃdadhāti | tāni trīṇi punarevaikaṃ tredhā tredhā tā nava ṛco bhavanti | nava vai śirasi prāṇāḥ | tānyarkavanti bhavanti | tad etasyāhno rūpam ||
ŚĀ 2,3 athaitaṃ graivaṃ śaṃsati | tā vai tisra ṛco bhavanti | trīṇi vā āsāṃ grīvāṇāṃ parvāṇi bhavanti | tānyevaitābhiḥ saṃdadhāti | uṣṇig uttamā | so 'yaṃ skandho vidalo 'vyūḷhaḥ (laḥ) ||
ŚĀ 2,4 athaitāṃ akṣāṃ śaṃsati | sā vai triṣṭub bhavati | tasmād akṣaḥ sthaviṣṭhaḥ | ṛṣvā ta indra sthavirasya bāhū iti bāhvor abhirūpā | atha rathantarasya stotriyānurūpau śaṃsati | tayor uktaṃ brāhmaṇam | atha dhāyyāṃ śaṃsati | iyaṃ vai dhāyyā | iyaṃ hi sarveṣu bhūteṣu hitā | sā vai dakṣiṇe bhāge dhīyate | tasmād dakṣiṇaṃ bhāgaṃ puṃsaḥ stryadhiśete | atha rāthantaraṃ pragāthaṃ śaṃsati | tasyoktaṃ brāhmaṇam | sa eka id dhavyaś carṣaṇīnām iti sūktaṃ tat pacchaḥ | tasya dvitīyām uddhṛtya viśvo hyanyo arirājagāmeti | yaitasya dvitīyā tām iha dvitīyāṃ karoti | tad imau pakṣau vyatiṣajatyavivarhāya ||
ŚĀ 2,5 athaitaṃ prahastakaṃ śaṃsati | tā vai tisra ṛco bhavanti | trīṇi vā asya pāṇeḥ parvāṇi bhavanti | tānyevaitābhiḥ saṃdadhāti | aticchandāḥ prathamā so 'yam aṅguṣṭhaḥ | tasmād ayam aṅguṣṭhaḥ sarvā aṅgulīḥ pratyeti | dakṣiṇaḥ pakṣo rāthantaraḥ | atha vā uttaraḥ pakṣo bārhataḥ | etenaivokto brāhmaṇaḥ | tau vā etau pakṣau bārhatarāthantarau caturviṃśau | caturviṃśatir vai saṃvatsarasyārdhamāsāḥ saṃvatsarasyāptyai ||
ŚĀ 2,6 athaitāni caturuttarāṇi śaṃsati tad anūkam | tā ekaviṃśatir ṛco bhavanti | ekaviṃśatir vā asyānūkasya parvāṇi bhavanti | tānyevaitābhiḥ saṃdadhāti | tāni vai sapta tṛcāni bhavanti | sapta vai chandāṃsi sarveṣām eva chandasām āptyai | tānyarkavanti bhavanti | tad etasyāhno rūpam ||
ŚĀ 2,7 athaitā aśītīḥ śaṃsati | stotriyān evaitābhir anuśaṃsati gāyatryā gāyatram auṣṇihyā ca bārhatyā ca bṛhadrathantare | iyam eva dakṣiṇaṃ pārśvaṃ gāyatrī savyam auṣṇihī madhyaṃ bārhatī | madhye vā idam ātmano 'nnaṃ dhīyate | triṣṭubhāvantareṇa triṣṭum naividī | vaiśvāmitryāvarkavatyāvabhirūpe | viśvāmitro hyenad apaśyat | mahadvatyo vṛdhavatyaḥ pratipado bhavanti | mahadvad vṛdhavat | mahadvat - mahadvad dhyetad ahaḥ ||
ŚĀ 2,8 mahāṁ indro ya ojasetyetayā gāyatrīm aśītiṃ pratipadyate stomair vatsasya vāvṛdha iti mahadvatyā vṛdhavatyā | mahadvad vṛdhavat | mahadvat - mahadvad dhyetad ahaḥ ||
ŚĀ 2,9 yā indra bhuja ābhara ityetayā bārhatīm aśītiṃ pratipadyate stotāram in maghavann asya vardhayeti mahadvatyā vṛdhavatyā | mahadvad vṛdhavat | mahadvat - mahadvad dhyetad ahaḥ | ayaṃ te astu haryata ā mandrair indra haribhiḥ sūkte | tad yad ete antataḥ śaṃsati saṃsiddhābhir bṛhatībhir auṣṇihīm aśītiṃ samārohāṇīti ||
ŚĀ 2,10 indraḥ suteṣu someṣv ityetayauṣṇihīm aśītiṃ pratipadyate vide vṛdhasya dakṣaso mahān hi ṣa iti vṛdhavatyā mahadvatyā | vṛdhavan mahadvat | mahadvad dhyetad ahaḥ | tā vā etā aśītayaḥ saṃśastāḥ saptaviṃśatiśatānyṛcāṃ saṃpadyante | sapta vai viṃśati śatāni saṃvatsarasyāhorātrāṇāṃ tad aśītibhiḥ saṃvatsarasyāhorātrāṇyāpnoti | sāmanidhanair haike gāyatrīr uṣṇihaḥ saṃpādayanti | caturakṣarāṇyu haike punar ādadate | bārhatyā aśītyā aśītiṃ caturakṣarāṇyuddharati kākubhebhyaḥ pragāthebhyaś caturviṃśatiṃ caturakṣarāṇi tāni catuḥśataṃ caturakṣarāṇi catuḥśate gāyatrīṣūpadadhāti | tathā tā gāyatrīr uṣṇihaḥ saṃpadyante | nādriyeta | atraiva saṃpannam | indrāya sāma gāyateti | tad yad etad antataḥ śaṃsati saṃsiddhābhir uṣṇigbhir vaśaṃ samārohāṇīti ||
ŚĀ 2,11 atha vaśaṃ śaṃsati | udaraṃ vai vaśaḥ | tena saṃsiddhenānantaryaṃ jigamiṣet | yad ataḥ kiṃca bahirdhā tata eva tac chrapayati yad antar udare | tasmād bahvyo devatā bahūni cchandāṃsi vaśe śasyante | tasmād idaṃ bahu viśvarūpam udare 'nnam avadhīyate | athaitau vihṛtāvardharcau | atha sūdadohasam | sā tata evotsṛjyate | atra caturviṃśatikṛtvaḥ śastā bhavati ||

ŚĀ 2,15 athaitam ānuṣṭubhaṃ samāmnāyaṃ śaṃsati | vāg vā etad ahar vāg anuṣṭub vācyeva tad vācaṃ pratiṣṭhāpayati | divaṃ yayeti devān evaitena sūktenaiti | sa pratnathā kavivṛdha iti tṛcam arkavat tena samṛddham | gāyatryuttamā tayā samṛddham | śāsa itthā mahāṁ asīti mahadvat | mahadvad dhyetad ahaḥ ||

ŚĀ 3,3 = KU 1,3 sa etaṃ devayānaṃ panthānam āpadyāgnilokam āgacchati | sa vāyulokam | sa varuṇalokam | sa indralokam | sa prajāpatilokam | sa brahmalokam | tasya vā etasya brahmalokasyārohadaḥ, muhūrtā yaṣṭihāḥ, vijarā nadī, ilyo vṛkṣaḥ, sālajyaṃ saṃsthanam, aparājitam āyatanam, indraprajāpatī dvāragopau, vibhu pramitam, vicakṣaṇāsandī, amitaujāḥ paryaṅkaḥ, priyā ca mānasī, pratirūpā ca cākṣuṣī, puṣpāṇyādāyāvayato vai ca jagāni, ambāś cāmbāyavīś cāpsarasaḥ, ambayā nadyaḥ | tam itthaṃvid āgacchati | taṃ brahmāha - abhidhāva ta mama yaśasā | vijarāṃ vā ayaṃ nadīṃ prāpat | na vā ayaṃ jarayiṣyatīti ||
ŚĀ 3,4 = KU 1,4 taṃ pañca śatānyapsarasāṃ pratiyanti - śataṃ phalahastāḥ, śatam āñjanahastāḥ, śataṃ mālyahastāḥ, śataṃ vāsohastāḥ, śataṃ cūṛnahastāḥ | taṃ brahmālaṅkāreṇālaṅkurvanti | sa brahmaālaṅkāreṇālaṅkṛto brahma vidvān brahmābhipraiti | sa āgacchatyāraṃ hradam | taṃ manasātyeti | tam itvā saṃprativido majjanti | sa āgacchati muhūrtān yaṣṭihān | te 'smād apadravanti | sa āgacchati vijarāṃ nadīm | tāṃ manasaivātyeti | tat sukṛtaduṣkṛte dhunuvāte | tasya priyā jñātayaḥ sukṛtam upayanti, apriyā duṣkṛtam | tad yathā rathena dhāvayan rathacakre paryavekṣeta | evam āhorātre paryavekṣeta | evaṃ sukṛtaduṣkṛte sarvāṇi ca dvandvāni | sa eṣa visukṛto duṣkṛto brahma vidvān brahmaivābhipraiti ||

ŚĀ 3,6 = KU 1,6 ṛtur asmi | ārtavo 'smi | ākāśād yoneḥ saṃbhūto bhāryāyai retaḥ, saṃvatsarasya tejobhūtasya bhūtasyātmā | bhūtasya bhūtasya tvam ātmāsi | yas tvam asi so 'ham asmi | tam āha - ko 'ham asmīti | satyam iti brūyāt | kiṃ tad yatsatyam iti | yad anyad devebhyaśca prāṇebhyaś ca tat sat | atha yad devāś ca prāṇāś ca tat satyam | tad ekayā vācābhivyāhriyate sattyam iti | etāvad idaṃ sarvam | idaṃ sarvam asmītyevainaṃ tad āha | tad etac chlokenābhyuktam ||

ŚĀ 4,2 = KU 2,2 prāṇo brahmeti ha smāha paiṅgyaḥ | tasya vā etasya prāṇasya brahmaṇo vāk parastāc cakṣur ārundhate | cakṣuḥ parastātc chrotraṃ ārundhate | śrotraṃ parastān mana ārundhathe | manaḥ parastāt prāṇa ārundhate | tasmai vā etasmai prāṇāya brahmaṇa etā devatā ayācamānāya baliṃ haranti | evaṃ haivāsmai sarvāṇi bhūtānyayācamānāyaiva baliṃ haranti | ya evaṃ veda tasyopaniṣan na yāced iti | tad yathā grāmaṃ bhikṣitvālabdhvupaviśen nāham ato dattam aśnīyām iti | ta evainam upamantrayante ye purastāt pratyācakṣīran | eṣa dharmo 'yācato bhavati | annadās tvevainam upamantrayante - dadāma ta iti ||
ŚĀ 4,3 = KU 2,3 athāta ekadhanāvarodhanam | ya ekadhanam abhidhyāyāt paurṇamāsyāṃ vāmāvāsyāyāṃ vā śuddhapakṣe vā puṇye nakṣatra eteṣām ekasmin parvaṇyagnim upasamādhāya parisamuhya paristīrya paryukṣya dakṣiṇaṃ ānvācya sruveṇāyahutīr juhoti | vāṅ nāma devatāvarodhinī sā me 'muṣmād idam avarundhyāt tasyai svāhā | prāṇo nāma devatāvarodhinī sā me 'muṣmād idam avarundhyāt tasyai svāhā | śrotraṃ nāma devatāvarodhinī sā me 'muṣmād idam avarundhyāt tasyai svāhā | mano nāma devatāvarodhinī sā me 'muṣmād idam avarundhyāt tasyai svāhā | prajñā nāma devatāvarodhinī sā me 'muṣmād idam avarundhyāt tasyai svāhā | atha dhūmagandhaṃ prajighrāyājyalepanenāṅgānyanuvimṛjya vācaṃyamo 'bhipravrajyārthaṃ +brūyād dūtaṃ vā prahiṇuyāt | labhate haiva ||
ŚĀ 4,4 = KU 2,4 athāto daivaḥ smaraḥ | yasya priyo bubhūṣed yasyai yeṣāṃ vā yāsāṃ vaiteṣām evaikasmin parvaṇyetayaivāvṛtaitā ājyāhutīr juhoti | vācaṃ te mayi juhomyasau svāhā | prāṇaṃ te mayi juhomyasau svāhā | mayi cakṣus te juhomyasau svāhā | śrotraṃ te mayi juhomyasau svāhā | manas te mayi juhomyasau svāhā | prajñāṃ te mayi juhomyasau svāheti | atha dhūmagandhaṃ prajighrāyājyalepanenāṅgānyanuvimṛjya vācaṃyamo 'bhipravrajy saṃsparśaṃ jigamiṣet | abhivātād vā tiṣṭhet saṃbhāṣamāṇaḥ | priyo haiva bhavati | smarate haivāsya ||
ŚĀ 4,5 = KU 2,5 athātaḥ sāṃyamanaṃ prātardanam | āntaram agnihotram ityācakṣate | yāvad vai puruṣo bhāṣate na tāvat prāṇituṃ śaknoti | prāṇaṃ tadā vāci juhoti | yāvad vai puruṣaḥ prāṇiti na tāvad bhāṣituṃ śaknoti | vācaṃ tadā prāṇe juhoti | ete anante amṛte āhutī jāgracca svapaṃśca saṃtataṃ juhoti | atha yā anyā āhutayo 'ntavatyas tāḥ karmamayyo hi bhavanti | tad dha smaitat pūrve vidvāṃso 'gnihotraṃ na juhavāñcakruḥ ||
ŚĀ 4,6 = KU 2,6 ukthaṃ brahmeti ha smāha śuṣkabhṛṅgāraḥ | tad ṛg ityupāsīta | sarvāṇi hāsmai bhūtani śraiṣṭhyāyābhyacyante | tad yajur ityupāsīta | sarvāṇi hāsmai bhūtāni śraiṣṭhyāya yujyante | tat sāma ityupāsīta | sarvāṇi hāsmai bhūtāni śraiṣṭhyāya saṃnamante | tac chrīr ityupāsīt | tad yaśa ityupāsīta | tat teja ityupāsīta | tad yathaitac chrīmattamaṃ yaśasvitamaṃ tejasvitamam iti śastreṣu bhavati | evaṃ haiva sa sarveṣu bhūteṣu śrīmattamo yaśasvitamas tejasitamo bhavati ya evaṃ veda | tad etad aiṣṭikaṃ karma yam ātmānam adhvaryuḥ saṃskaroti | tasmin yajurmayaṃ pravayati | yajurmaya ṛṅmayaṃ hotā | ṛṅmaye sāmamayam udgātā | sa eṣa trayyai vidyāyā ātmā | eṣa u evaitad indrasyātmā bhavati ya evaṃ veda ||
ŚĀ 4,7 = KU 2,7 athātaḥ sarvajitaḥ kauṣītakes trīṇyupāsanāni bhavanti | sarvajid dha sma kauṣītakir udyantam ādityam upatiṣṭhate yajñopavītaṃ kṛtvodakam ānīya triḥ prasicyodakapātram | vargo 'si pāpmānaṃ me vṛṅdhīti | etayaivāvṛtā madhye santam | udvargo 'si pāpmānaṃ ma udvṛṅdhīti | etayaivāvṛtāstaṃ yantam | saṃvargo 'si pāpmānaṃ me saṃvṛṅdhīti | tad yad ahorātrābhyāṃ pāpaṃ karoti saṃ tad vṛṅkte | tatho evaivaṃ vidvān etayaivāvṛtādityam upatiṣṭhate | yad ahorātrābhyāṃ pāpaṃ karoti saṃ tad vṛṅkte ||
ŚĀ 4,8 = KU 2,8 atha māsimāsyāvāsyāyāṃ vṛttāyāṃ paścāc candramasaṃ dṛśyamānam upatiṣṭhetaitayaivāvṛtā | haritatṛṇe vā pratyasya - yan me susīmaṃ hṛdayaṃ divi candramasi śritam | manye 'haṃ māṃ tad vidvāṃsaṃ māhaṃ putryam aghaṃ rudam || iti | na hyasmāt pūrvā prajā praitīti nu jātaputrasya | athājātaputrasya - āpyāyasva sametu +te, saṃ te payāṃsi sam u yantu vājāḥ, yam ādityā aṃśum āpyāyayantītyetās tisra ṛco japitvā - māsmākaṃ prāṇena prajayā paśubhir āpyāyayiṣṭhāḥ | yo' smān dveṣṭi yaṃ ca vayaṃ dviṣmas tasya prāṇena prajayā paśubhir āpyāyayasvetyaindrīm āvṛtam āvarta ādityasyāvṛtam anvāvarta iti dakṣiṇaṃ bāhum anvāvartate ||
ŚĀ 4,9 = KU 2,9 atha paurṇamāsyāṃ purastāc candramasaṃ dṛśyamānam upatiṣṭhaitayaivāvṛtā | somo rājāsi vicakṣaṇaḥ pañcamukho 'si prajāpatiḥ | brāhmaṇas ta ekaṃ mukhaṃ tena mukhena rājño 'tsi | tena mukhena māṃ annādaṃ kuru | rājā ta ekaṃ mukhaṃ tena mukhena viśo 'tsi | tena mukhena māṃ annādaṃ kuru | śyenas ta ekaṃ mukhaṃ tena mukhena pakṣiṇo 'tsi | tena mukhena māṃ annādaṃ kuru | agniṣ ṭa ekaṃ mukhaṃ tena mukhenemaṃ lokam atsi | tena mukhena māṃ annādaṃ kuru | māsmākaṃ prāṇena prajayā paśubhir apakṣeṣṭhāḥ | yo' smān dveṣṭi yaṃ ca vayaṃ dviṣmas tasya prāṇena prajayā paśubhir apakṣīyasveti daivīm āvṛtam āvarta ādityasyāvṛtam anvāvarta iti dakṣiṇaṃ bāhum anvāvartate ||
ŚĀ 4,10 = KU 2,10 atha saṃvekṣyan jāyāyai hṛdayam abhi mṛśet - yat te susīme hṛdayaṃ śritam antaḥ prajāpatau | tenāmṛtatvasyeśāne mā tvaṃ putryam aghaṃ ni gā iti || na hyasyāḥ pūrvā prajā praitīti ||
ŚĀ 4,11 = KU 2,11 atha proṣyāyan putrasya mūrdhanam abhijighret - aṅgād aṅgāt saṃbhavasi hṛdayād adhi jāyase | ātmā vai putranāmāsi sa jīva śaradaḥ śatam iti nāmāsya dadhāti | aśmā bhava paraśur bhava, hiraṇyam astṛtaṃ bhava | tejo vai putrānāmāsi sa jīva śaradaḥ śatam iti nāmāsya gṛhṇāti | athainaṃ parigṛhṇāti | yena prajāpatiḥ prajāḥ paryagṛhṇāt tad ariṣṭyaitena tvā parigṛhṇāmi, asāv iti | athāsya dakṣiṇe karṇe japati - asme prayandhi maghavann ṛjīṣin iti | indraṃ śreṣṭhāni draviṇāni dhehīti savye | mā bhetthā mā vyathiṣṭhāḥ śataṃ śarada āyuṣaḥ | jīvasva putra te nāmnā mūrdhānam abhijighrāmīti trir asya mūrdānam abhijighret | gavāṃ tvāṃ hiṃkāreṇābhihiṃkaromīti trir asya mūrdhānam abhihiṃkaroti ||

ŚĀ 5,4 = KU 3,4 vāg evāsmin sarvāṇi nāmānyabhivisṛjyante | vācā sarvāṇi nāmānyāpnoti | prāṇa evāsmin sarve gandhā abhivisṛjyante | prāṇena sarvā gandhān āpnoti | cakṣur evāsmin sarvāṇi rūpāṇyabhivisṛjyante | cakṣuṣā sarvāṇi rūpāṇyāpnoti | śrotram evāsmin sarve śabdā abhivisṛjyante | śrotreṇa sarvāñ chabdān āpnoti | mana evāsmin sarvāṇi dhyātānyabhivisṛjyante | manasā sarvāṇi dhyātānyāpnoti | saha hyetāvasmiñ charīre vasataḥ sahotkrāmataḥ | atha yathāsmai prajñāyai sarvāṇi bhūtānyekaṃ bhavanti | tad vyākhyāsyāmaḥ ||

ŚĀ 6,1 = KU 4,1 atha gārgyo bālākir anūcānaḥ saṃspaṣṭa āsa | so 'vasad uśīnareṣu so 'vasan matsyeṣu kurupañcāleṣu kāśivideheṣviti | sa hājātaśatruṃ kāśyam āvrajyovāca - brahma te bravāṇīti | taṃ hovācājataśatruḥ - sahasraṃ dadmi ta ityetasyāṃ vāci | janako janaka iti vā u janā dhāvantīti ||
ŚĀ 6,2 = KU 4,2 āditye bṛhat, candramasyannam, vidyuti satyam, stanayitnau śabdaḥ, vāyāvindro vaikuṇṭhaḥ, ākāśe pūrṇam, agnau viṣāsahiḥ, apsu tejaḥ | ityadhidaivatam | atādhyātmam - ādarśe pratirūpaḥ, chāyāyāṃ dvitīyaḥ, pratiśrutkāyām asuriti, śabde mṛtyuḥ, svapne yamaḥ, śarīre prajāpatiḥ, dakṣiṇe' kṣiṇi vācaḥ, savye 'kṣiṇi satyasya ||
ŚĀ 6,3 = KU 4,3 sa hovāca bālākiḥ - ya evaiṣa āditye puruṣas tam evāham upāsa iti | taṃ hovācājātaśatruḥ - mā maitasmin saṃvādayiṣṭhāḥ | bṛhan pāṇḍaravāsā atiṣṭhāḥ sarveṣāṃ bhūtānāṃ Mūrdheti vā aham etam upāsa iti | sa yo haitam evam upāste 'tiṣṭhāḥ sarveṣāṃ bhūtānāṃ mūrdhā bhavati ||
ŚĀ 6,4 = KU 4,4 sa hovāca bālākiḥ - ya evaiṣa candramasi puruṣas tam evāham upāsa iti | taṃ hovācājātaśatruḥ - mā maitasmin saṃvādayiṣṭhāḥ | annasyātmeti vā aham etam upāsa iti | sa yo haitam evam upāste 'nnasyātmā bhavati ||
ŚĀ 6,5 = KU 4,5 sa hovāca bālākiḥ - ya evaiṣa vidyuti puruṣas tam evāham upāsa iti | taṃ hovācājātaśatruḥ - mā maitasmin saṃvādayiṣṭhāḥ | satyasyātmeti vā aham etam upāsa iti | sa yo haitam evam upāste satyasyātmā bhavati ||
ŚĀ 6,6 = KU 4,6 sa hovāca bālākiḥ - ya evaiṣa stanayitnau puruṣas tam evāham upāsa iti | taṃ hovācājātaśatruḥ - mā maitasmin saṃvādayiṣṭhāḥ | śabdasyātmeti vā aham etam upāsa iti | sa yo haitam evam upāste śabdasyātmā bhavati ||
ŚĀ 6,7 = KU 4,7 sa hovāca bālākiḥ - ya evaiṣa vāyau puruṣas tam evāham upāsa iti | taṃ hovācājātaśatruḥ - mā maitasmin saṃvādayiṣṭhāḥ | indro vaikuṇṭho 'parājitā seneti vā aham etam upāsa iti | sa yo haitam evam upāste jiṣṇur ha vā aparājiṣṇur anyatastyajāyī bhavati ||
ŚĀ 6,8 = KU 4,8 sa hovāca bālākiḥ - ya evaiṣa ākāśe puruṣas tam evāham upāsa iti | taṃ hovācājātaśatruḥ - mā maitasmin saṃvādayiṣṭhāḥ | pūṛnam apravarti brahmeti vā aham etam upāsa iti | sa yo haitam evam upāste pūryate prajayā paśubhir yaśasā brahmavarcasena svargeṇa lokena sarvam āyur eti ||
ŚĀ 6,9 = KU 4,9 sa hovāca bālākiḥ - ya evaiṣo 'gnau puruṣas tam evāham upāsa iti | taṃ hovācājātaśatruḥ - mā maitasmin saṃvādayiṣṭhāḥ | viṣāsahir iti vā aham etam upāsa iti | sa yo haitam evam upāste viṣāsahir haivānyeṣu bhavati ||
ŚĀ 6,10 = KU 4,10 sa hovāca bālākiḥ - ya evaiṣo 'psu puruṣas tam evāham upāsa iti | taṃ hovācājātaśatruḥ - mā maitasmin saṃvādayiṣṭhāḥ | tejasa ātmeti vā aham etam upāsa iti | sa yo haitam evam upāste tejasa ātmā bhavati | ityadhidaivatam | athādhyātmam ||

ŚĀ 6,20 = KU 4,20 athāsmin prāṇa ekaikadhā bhavati | tad enaṃ vāk sarvair nāmabhiḥ sahāpyeti | cakṣuḥ sarvai rūpaiḥ sahāpyeti | śrotraṃ sarvaiḥ śabdaiḥ sahāpyeti | manaḥ sarvair dhyātaiḥ sahāpyeti | sa yadA pratibudhyate, yathāgner jvalataḥ sarvā diśo visphuliṅgā vipratiṣṭheran evam evaitasmād ātmanaḥ prāṇā yathāyatanaṃ vipratiṣṭhante prāṇebhyo devāḥ devebhyo lokāḥ | sa eṣa prāṇa eva prajñātmedaṃ śarīram AtmAnam anupraviṣṭa ā lomabhya ā nakhebhyaḥ | tad yathā kṣuraḥ kṣuradhāne vopahito viśvaṃbharo vā viśvaṃbarakulāya evam evaiṣa prajñātmedaṃ śarīram ātmānam anupraviṣṭa ā lomabhya ā nakhebhyaḥ | tam etam ātmānam eta ātmāno 'nvavasyante yathā śreṣṭhinaṃ svāḥ | tad yatha śreṣṭhī svair bhuṅkte yathā vā svāḥ śreṣṭhinaṃ bhuñjanti | evam evaiṣa prajñātmaitair ātmabhir bhuṅkte | evam evaita ātmāna etam ātmānaṃ bhuñjanti | sa yāvad dha vā indra etam ātmānaṃ na vijajñe tāvad enam asurā abhibabhūvuḥ | sa yadā vijajñe 'tha hatvāsurān vijitya sarveṣāṃ ca devānāṃ śraiṣṭhyaṃ svārājyam ādhipatyaṃ paryait | tathau evaivaṃ vidvān sarvān pāpmano 'pahaty sarveṣāṃ ca bhūtānām śraiṣṭhyaṃ svārājya ādhipatyaṃ paryeti | ya evaṃ veda ya evaṃ veda ||

ŚĀ 7,2 athātaḥ saṃhitāyā upaniṣat | pṛthivī pūrvarūpaṃ dyaur uttararūpaṃ vāyuḥ saṃhiteti śauravīro māṇḍūkeyaḥ | ākāśaḥ saṃhitetyasya māṇḍavyo vedayāñ cakre - sa hāviparihṛto mene na me 'sya putreṇa samagād iti | parihṛto mena ity āgastyaḥ | samānaṃ hyatra pituśca putrasya ca vāyuś cākāśaś ca | ityadhidaivatam | athādhyātmam | vāk pūrvarūpaṃ mana uttararūpaṃ prāṇaḥ saṃhiteti śauravīro māṇḍūkeyaḥ | atha ha smāsya putra āha dīrghaḥ - manasā vā agre kīrtayati tad vācā vadati | tasmān mana eva pūrvarūpaṃ vāg uttararūpaṃ mano vāk prāṇas tveva saṃhiteti | sa eṣo 'śvarathaḥ praṣṭivāhano manovākprāṇasaṃhitaḥ svargaṃ lokaṃ gamayati | sa ya evam etāṃ saṃhitāṃ veda saṃdhīyate prajayā paśubhir yaśasā brahmavarcasena svargeṇa lokena sarvam āyur etīti nu māṇḍūkeyānām ||
ŚĀ 7,3 śākalyasya pṛthivyagniḥ pṛthivī vāg anuvyāhārāḥ | sa yadi nirbhujaḥ khalu vai vayaṃ madhyamo vāk prāṇena mātā jāyā prajñā vāg bṛhadgatirvālisarvamuttamam ||
ŚĀ 7,4 atha śākalyasya | pṛthivī pūrvarūpaṃ dyaur uttararūpaṃ vāyuḥ saṃhitā vṛṣṭiḥ saṃdhiḥ saṃdhātā | tad utāpi yatraitad balavad anugṛhṇan mahāmegho vṛṣṭiṃ varṣati | dyāvāpṛthivyau samadhātām ityadhidaivatam | athādhyātmam | puruṣo 'yaṃ sarvam āṇḍam | dve vidale bhavataḥ | tatredam eva pūrvarūpam idam uttararūpam | tatrāyam antareṇākāśaḥ | yathāsau dyāvāpṛthivyor antareṇākāśa etasminn ākāśe prāṇa āyatto bhavati yathāmuṣminn ākāśe vāyur āyatto bhavati | yathāmūni trīṇi jyotīṃṣyevam imāni puruṣe trīṇi jyotīṃṣi | yathāsau divyāditya evam idaṃ śirasi cakṣuḥ | yathāsāvantarikṣe vidyud evam idam ātmani hṛdayam | yathāyam agniḥ pṛthivyam evam idam upasthe retaḥ | evamiva ha sma sarvata ātmānam anuvidhāyāha - idam eva pūrvarūpam idam uttararūpaṃ mano vāk prāṇas tveva saṃhiteti | sa eṣo ' śvarathaḥ praṣṭivahano manovākprāṇasaṃhitaḥ svargaṃ lokaṃ gamayati | sa ya evam etāṃ saṃhitāṃ +veda saṃdhīyate prajayā paśubhir yaśasā brahmavarcasena svargeṇa lokena sarvam āyur eti ||

ŚĀ 7,6 agniḥ pūrvarūpaṃ candramā uttararūpaṃ vidyut saṃhiteti sūryadattaḥ | ityadhidaivatam | athādhyātmam - vāk pūrvarūpaṃ mana uttararūpaṃ satyaṃ saṃhitā | sa ya evam etāṃ etāṃ saṃhitāṃ veda saṃdhīyate prajayā paśubhir yaśasā brahmavarcasena svargeṇa lokena sarvam āyur eti ||

ŚĀ 7,9 athāto 'nuvyāhārāḥ | prāṇo vaṃśa iti vidyāt | sa ya enaṃ prāṇaṃ vaṃśaṃ bruvan param upavadet śaknuvan kaścic cen manyeta - prāṇaṃ vaṃśaṃ +samadhām | prāṇaṃ vaṃśaṃ saṃdhitsituṃ na śaknoṣītyāttha | prāṇas tvā vaṃśo hāsyatītyevainaṃ brūyāt | atha ced aśaknuvan manyeta prāṇaṃ vaṃśaṃ samadhitsīḥ taṃ nāśakaḥ saṃdhātuṃ prāṇas tvā vaṃśo hāsyatītyevainaṃ brūyāt | yathā nu kathā ca bruvan vābruvan vā brūyād abhyāśam eva yat tat tathā syāt | na tvevānyat kuśalād brāhmaṇaṃ brūyād atidyumna eva brāhmaṇaṃ brūyān nātidyumne ca na brāhmaṇaṃ brūyān namo 'stu brāhmaṇebhya iti śauravīro māṇḍūkeyaḥ ||

ŚĀ 7,11 athāto nirbhujapravādāḥ | pṛthivyāyatanaṃ nirbhujaṃ divāyatanaṃ pratṛṇṇam antartikṣāyatanam ubhayam antareṇa | sa ya enaṃ nirbhujaṃ bruvan param upavadet | pṛthivīṃ devatām āraḥ pṛthivī tvā devatāriṣyatītyenaṃ brūyāt | atha yadi pratṛṇṇam bruvan param upavaded divaṃ devatām āro dyaus tvā devatāriṣyatītyenaṃ brūyāt | atha yadyubhayam antareṇa bruvan param upavaded antarikṣaṃ devatām āra antarikṣaṃ tvā devatāriṣyatītiyenaṃ brūyāt | yad dhi saṃdhiṃ vivartayati tan nirbhujasya rūpam | atha yac chuddhe akṣare abhivyāharati tat pratṛṇṇasyāgra u eva | ubhayam antareṇobhayaṃ vyāptaṃ bhavati | annādyakāmo nirbhujaṃ brūyāt svargakāṃaḥ pratṛṇṇam ubhayakāma ubhayamantareṇa | sa ya enaṃ nirbhujaṃ bruvan param upavaded acyoṣṭhā avarābhyāṃ sthānābhyām ityenaṃ brūyāt | atha yadi pratṛṇṇam bruvan param upavaded acyoṣṭhā uttarābhyāṃ sthānābhyām ityevainaṃ brūyāt | yastvevobhayam antareṇāha tasya tasya nāstyupavādaḥ | yathā nu kathā ca bruvan vābruvan vā brūyād abhyāśam kuśalād brāhmaṇaṃ brūyād atidyumna evaṃ brāhmaṇaṃ brūyān nātidyumne ca na brāhmaṇaṃ brūyāt | namo 'stu brāhmaṇebhya iti śauravīro māṇḍūkeyaḥ ||
ŚĀ 7,12 atha khalvāhur nirbhujavaktrāḥ | pūrvam evākṣaraṃ pūrvarūpam uttaram uttararūpam | yakāravakārāvantareṇa sā saṃhiteti | sa ya evam etāṃ saṃhitāṃ veda saṃdhīyate prajayā paśubhir yaśasā brahmavarcasena svargeṇa lokena sarvam āyur eti ||
ŚĀ 7,13 atha vai vayaṃ brūmo nirbhujavaktrāḥ sma iti ha smāha hvastro māṇḍūkeyaḥ | pūrvam evākṣaraṃ pūrvarūpam uttaram uttararūpam | tad yāsau mātrā pūrvarūpottarūpe antareṇa yena saṃdhiṃ vivartayati yena mātrāmātraṃ vibhajati yena svarāt svaraṃ vijñāpayati sā saṃhiteti | sa ya evam etāṃ saṃhitāṃ veda saṃdhīyate prajayā paśubhir yaśasā brahmavarcasena svargeṇa lokena sarvam āyur eti ||
ŚĀ 7,14 atha ha smāsya putra āha madhyamaḥ prātiyodhīputro magadhavāsī pūrvam evākṣaraṃ pūrvarūpam uttaram uttararūpam | tad yāsau mātrā saṃdhivijñāpanī sāma tad bhavati sāmaihāvaṃ saṃhitāṃ manya iti | tad etad ṛcābhyuditam - mā naḥ stenebhyo ye abhi druhas pade nirāmiṇo ripavo 'nneṣu jāgṛdhuḥ | ā devānām ohate vi vrayo hṛdi bṛhaspate na paraḥ sāmno viduḥ || iti | sa ya evam etāṃ saṃhitāṃ veda saṃdhīyate prajayā paśubhir yaśasā brahmavarcasena svargeṇa lokena sarvam āyur eti ||
ŚĀ 7,15 vāk prāṇena saṃdhīyata iti kauṇṭharavyaḥ | prāṇaḥ pavamānena pavamāno viśvair devair viśve devāḥ svargeṇa lokena svargo loko brahmaṇā saiṣāvaraparā saṃhitā | sa ya evam etām avaraparāṃ saṃhitāṃ veda evaṃ haiva sa prajayā paśubhir yaśasā brahmavarcasena svargeṇa lokena saṃdhīyate yathaiṣāvaraparā saṃhitā | sa yadi pareṇa vopasṛṣṭaḥ svena vārthenābhivyāhared abhivyāharann eva vidyāt - divaṃ saṃhitāgamad viduṣo devān abhivyāhārārtham evaṃ bhaviṣyatīti | etenāvarapareṇa tathā haiva tad bhavati ||
ŚĀ 7,16 mātā pūrvarūpaṃ pitottararūpaṃ prajā saṃhiteti bhārgavaḥ | tad etad ekam eva sarvaṃ abhyanūktam | mātā ca hyevedaṃ pitā ca prajā ca sarvam | saiṣāditisaṃhitā | aditir hevedaṃ sarvaṃ yad idaṃ kiṃcid viśvabhūtam | tad etad ṛcābhyuditam - aditir dyaur aditir antarikṣaṃ aditir mātā sā pitā sa putraḥ | viśve devā aditiḥ pañca janā aditir jātam aditir janitvam || sa ya evam etāṃ saṃhitāṃ veda saṃdhīyate prajayā paśubhir yaśasā brahmavarcasena svargeṇa lokena sarvam āyur eti ||
ŚĀ 7,17 jāyā pūrvarūpaṃ patir uttararūpaṃ putraḥ saṃhitā retaḥ saṃdhiḥ prajananaṃ saṃdhānam iti sthaviraḥ śākalyaḥ | saiṣā prajāpatisaṃhitā | sa ya evam etāṃ saṃhitāṃ veda saṃdhīyate prajayā paśubhir yaśasā brahmavarcasena svargeṇa lokena sarvam āyur eti ||
ŚĀ 7,18 prajñā pūrvarūpaṃ śraddhottararūpaṃ karma saṃhitā satyaṃ saṃdhānam iti kāśyapaḥ | saiṣā satyasaṃhitā | tad āhur yat satyasaṃdhā devā iti | sa ya evam etāṃ saṃhitāṃ veda saṃdhīyate prajayā paśubhir yaśasā brahmavarcasena svargeṇa lokena sarvam āyur eti ||
ŚĀ 7,19 vāk saṃhiteti pañcālacaṇḍaḥ | vācā vai vedāḥ saṃdhīyante vācā chandāṃsi vācā mitrāṇi saṃdadhati | tad yatraitad adhīte vā bhāṣate vā vāci tadā prāṇo bhavati | vāk tadā prāṇaṃ reḷhi | atha yat svapiti vā tūṣṇīṃ vā bhavati prāṇe tadā vāg bhavati prāṇastadā vācaṃ reḷhi. tāv anyonyaṃ rīḷhaḥ | tad etad ṛcābhyuditam - ekaḥ suparṇaḥ sa samudram āviveśa, sa idaṃ viśvaṃ bhuvanaṃ vicaṣṭe | taṃ pākena manasāpaśyam antitas, taṃ mātā reḷhi sa u reḷhi mātaram || iti | vāg vai mātā prāṇo vatsaḥ | sa ya evam etāṃ saṃhitāṃ veda saṃdhīyate prajayā paśubhir yaśasā brahmavarcasena svargeṇa lokena sarvam āyur eti ||
ŚĀ 7,20 bṛhadrathaṃtareṇa rūpeṇa saṃhitā saṃdhīyata iti tārkṣyaḥ | vāg vai rathaṃtarasya rūpaṃ prāṇo bṛhataḥ | ubhābhyām u khalu saṃhitā saṃdhīyate vācā ca prāṇena ca | etasyāṃ ha smopaniṣadi saṃvatsaraṃ gā rakṣayata iti tārkṣyaḥ | sa ya evam etāṃ saṃhitāṃ veda saṃdhīyate prajayā paśubhir yaśasā brahmavarcasena svargeṇa lokena sarvam āyur eti ||
ŚĀ 7,21 gatiḥ pūrvvarūpaṃ nivṛttir uttararūpaṃ sthitiḥ saṃhiteti jāratkārava ārtabhāgaḥ | tasyām etasyāṃ saṃhitāyāṃ dhvaṃsayo nimeṣāḥ kāṣṭhāḥ kalāḥ kṣaṇā muhūrtā ahorātrā ardhamāsā māsā ṛtavaḥ saṃvatsarāś ca saṃdhīyante | saiṣā saṃhitainān kālān saṃdadhāti | kālo gatinivṛttisthitīḥ saṃdadhāti | gatinivṛttisthitibhir idaṃ sarvaṃ saṃdhīyate | ityadhidaivatam | athādhyātmam - bhūtaṃ pūrvarūpaṃ bhaviṣyad uttararūpaṃ bhavat saṃhiteti kālasaṃdhiḥ | tad etad ṛcābhyuditam - mahat tan nāma guhyaṃ puruspṛg yena bhutaṃ janayo yena bhavyam | pratnaṃ jātaṃ jyotir yad asya priyaṃ priyāḥ samaviśanta pañca || iti | sa ya evam etāṃ saṃhitāṃ veda saṃdhīyate prajayā paśubhir yaśasā brahmavarcasena svargeṇa lokena sarvam āyur eti ||
ŚĀ 7,22 athāto vāliśikhāyaner vacaḥ | pañcemāni mahābhūtāni bhavantīti ha smāha vāliśikhayaniḥ | pṛthivī vāyur ākāśam āpo jyautīṃṣi tāni mithaḥ saṃhitani bhavanti | aatha yānyanyāni kṣudrāṇi mahābhūtaiḥ saṃdhīyante saiṣā sarvavibhūtasaṃhitā | sa ya evam etāṃ saṃhitāṃ veda saṃdhīyate prajayā paśubhir yaśasā brahmavarcasena svargeṇa lokena sarvam āyur eti ||
ŚĀ 7,23 sarvā vāg brahmeti ha smāha lauhikyaḥ | ye tu kecana śabdā vācam eva tāṃ vidyāt | tad apyetad ṛṣir āha - ahaṃ rudrebhir vasubhiś carāmīti | saiṣā vāk sarvaśabdā bhavati | sa ya evam etāṃ saṃhitāṃ veda saṃdhīyate prajayā paśubhir yaśasā brahmavarcasena svargeṇa lokena sarvam āyur eti | yatā caitad brahma kāmarūpi kāmacāri bhavatyevaṃ haiva sa sarveṣu bhūteṣu kāmarūpī kāmacārī bhavati | ya evaṃ veda ya evaṃ veda ||

ŚĀ 8,1 prāṇo vaṃśa iti ha smāha sthaviraḥ śākalyaḥ | tadu yathā śālāvaṃśe sarve 'nye vaṃśāḥ samāhitāḥ syur evam evaitasmin prāṇe sarva ātmā samāhitaḥ | tasyaitadyātmanaḥ prāṇa ūṣmarūpam asthīni sparśarūpaṃ majjānaḥ svararūpaṃ māṃsaṃ lohitam ityetac caturtham antasthārūpam iti | treyaṃ tveva na etat proktam iti ha smāha hvastro māṇḍūkeyaḥ | tasyaitasya trayasya trīṇītaḥ ṣaṣṭiśatāni bhavanti saṃdhīnāṃ trīṇītas tāni saptaviṃśatiśatāni bhavanti | sapta vai viṃśatiśatāni saṃvatsarasyāhorātrāṇām | tat saṃvatsarasyāhorātrāṇyāpnoti | sa eṣa saṃvatsarasaṃmānaś cakṣurmayaś śrotramayaś chandomayo manomayo vāṅmaya ātmā | sa ya evam etaṃ saṃvatsarasaṃmānaṃ cakṣurmayaṃ śrotramayaṃ chandomayaṃ manomayaṃ vāmayam ātmānaṃ veda saṃvatsarasya sāyaujyaṃ salokatāṃ sarūpatāṃ sabhakṣatām aśnute | putrī paśumān bhavati sarvam āyur etyasyāruṇikeyo devayāñcakre ||
ŚĀ 8,2 atha kauṣṭharavyaḥ | trīṇi ṣaṣṭiśatānyakṣarāṇām | trīṇi ṣaṣṭiśatānyūṣmaṇām | trīṇi ṣaṣṭiśatāni saṃdhīnām | yānyakṣarāṇyavocāmāhāni tāni | yān ūṣmaṇo rātrayastāḥ | yān saṃdhīn avocāmāhorātrāṇāṃ te saṃdhayaḥ | ityadhidaivatam | athādhyātmam - yānyakṣarāṇyadhidaivatam avocāmāsthīni tānyadhyātmam | yān ūṣmaṇo 'dhidaivatam avocāma +majjānas te 'dhyātmam | eṣa u ha vai saṃpratiprāṇo yan majjā etad retaḥ na vā ṛte prāṇād retasaḥ siddhir asti | yad vā ṛte prāṇād retaḥ sicyeta tat pūyen na saṃbhavet | yān saṃdhīn adhidaivatam avocāma parvāṇi tānyadhyātmam | tasyaitasyāsthnāṃ +majjā parvaṇām iti pañcetaścatvāriṃśacchatāni bhavanti | saṃdhīnāṃ pañcetastadaśītisahasraṃ bhavati | aśītisahasraṃ vārkalino bṛhatīr aharahani saṃpādayanti | sa eṣo 'haḥsaṃmānaś cakṣurmayaś śrotramayaś chandomayo manomayo vāṅmaya ātmā | sa ya evam etad ahaḥsaṃmānaṃ cakṣurmayaṃ śrotramayaṃ chandomayaṃ manomayaṃ vāmayam ātmānaṃ veda ahnāṃ sāyaujyaṃ salokatāṃ sarūpatāṃ sabhakṣatām aśnute | putrī paśumān bhavati sarvam āyur eti ||
ŚĀ 8,3 catvāraḥ puruṣā iti vāstyaḥ - śarīrapuruṣaś chandaḥpuruṣo vedepuruṣo mahāpuruṣa iti | śarīrapuruṣa iti yam avocam ya evāyaṃ daivika ātmā tasyaitasya yo 'yam aśarīraḥ prajñātmā sa rasaḥ | chandaḥpuruṣa iti yam avocāmākṣarasamāmnāya eva | tasyaitasyākāro rasaḥ | vedapuruṣa iti yam avocāma yena devān vedargvedaṃ yajurvedaṃ sāmavedam iti tasyaitasya brahmarasaḥ | tasmād brahmiṣṭhaṃ brahmāṇam ṛtvijaṃ kurvīta yo yajñasyolvaṇaṃ vidyāt | mahāpuruṣa iti yam avocāma saṃvatsara eva tasyaitasyāsāv ādityo rasaḥ | sa yaś cāyam aśarīraḥ prajñātmā yaś cāsāv āditya ekam etad iti vidyāt | tad etad ṛcābhyuditam ||
ŚĀ 8,4 citraṃ devānām udagād anīkaṃ cakṣur mitrasya varuṇasyāgneḥ | āprā dyāvāpṛthivī antarikṣaṃ sūrya ātmā jagatas tasthuṣaś ca || iti | etām evānuvidyāṃ saṃhitāṃ saṃdhīyamānāṃ manya iti ha smāha vātsyaḥ -- etam u haiva bahvṛcā mahadukthe mīmāṃsanta etam agnāv adhvaryava etaṃ mahāvrate chandogā etam asyām etam antarikṣa etaṃ divi etam agnāv etaṃ vāyāv etaṃ candramasy etaṃ nakṣatreṣv etam apsv etam oṣadhīṣv etaṃ sarveṣu bhūteṣv etam akṣareṣv etam eva brahmetyupāsate | tad etad ṛcābhyuditam ||
ŚĀ 8,5 ud vayaṃ tamasas pari jyotiṣ paśyanta uttaram | devaṃ devatrā sūryam aganma jyotir uttamam || iti | sa eṣo 'kṣarasaṃmānaś cakṣurmayaḥ śrotramayaś chandamayo manomayo vāṅmaya ātmā | sa ya evam etam akṣarasaṃānaṃ cakṣurmayaṃ śrotramayaṃ chandamayaṃ manomayaṃ vāṅmayam ātmānaṃ parasmai śaṃsati dugdhadohā asya vedā bhavanti | abhāgo vāci bhavati abhāgo 'nūkte | tad etad ṛcābhyuditam ||
ŚĀ 8,6 yas tityāja sacividaṃ sakhāyaṃ na tasya vācy api bhāgo asti | yad īṃ śṛnoty alakaṃ śṛṇoti na hi praveda sukṛtasya panthām || iti | nāsyānūkte vāco bhāgo astīty eva tad āha tan na parasmā etad ahaḥ śaṃset | nāgniṃ cinuyān na mahāvratena stuyān ned ātmano 'pihīyā iti | sa yaś cāyam aśarīraḥ prajñātmā yaś cāsāv āditya ekam etad ity avocāma tau yatra vipradṛśyete ||
ŚĀ 8,7 candramā ivādityo dṛśyate na raśmayaḥ prādur bhavanti | lohinī dyaur bhavati yathā mañjiṣṭhāḥ | vyastaḥ pāyur bhavati | saṃpareto 'syātmā na ciram iva jīviṣyatīti vidyāt | sa yat karaṇīyaṃ manyeta tat kuryāt | athāpyādarśe vodake vā jihmaśirasaṃ vāśirasaṃ vātmānaṃ paśyen na vā paśyet | tad apy evam eva vidyāt | athāpi cchidrā chāyā bhavati na vā bhavati tad apy evam eva vidyāt | athāpi cchidra ivādityo rathanābhir ivākhyāyet tad apy evam eva vidyāt | athāpi nīla ivāgnir dṛśyeta yathā mayūragrīvā mahāmeghe vā marīcīr iva paśyet | anabhre vā vidyutaṃ paśyet | abhra enāṃ mna paśyet tad apy evam eva vidyāt | athāpy apidhāyākṣiṇī upekṣeta tatraitad varāṭakānīva na paśyet tad apy evam eva vidyāt | athāpy apidhāya karṇā upāsīta | ya eṣo 'gner iva jvalataḥ śabdo rathasyevopabdis taṃ na yadā śṛṇuyāt tad apy evam eva vidyāt | athāpi viparyaste kanyake dṛśyete dvijihmevā na vā dṛśyetetad apy evam eva vidyāt | sa yo 'to 'śruto 'mato 'vijñāto 'dṛṣṭo 'nādiṣṭo 'ghuṣṭaḥ śrotā mantā vijñātā draṣṭādeṣṭā ghoṣṭā sarveṣāṃ bhūtānām āntaraḥ puruṣaḥ sa ma ātmeti vidyāt | sa utkrāmann evaitam aśarīraṃ prajñātmānam abhisaṃpadyate vijahātītaraṃ dauhikam | saiṣā sarvasyai vāca upaniṣat | sarvā haivemāḥ sarvasyai vācaupaniṣadaḥ | imāṃ tv evam ācakṣate ||
ŚĀ 8,8 pṛthivyā rūpaṃ sparśā antarikṣasyoṣmāṇo divaḥ svarāḥ | agne rūpaṃ sparśā vāyor ūṣmāṇa ādityasya svarāḥ | ṛgvedasya rūpaṃ sparśā yajurvedasyoṣmāṇaḥ sāmavedasya svarāḥ | rathantarasya rūpaṃ sparśā vāmadevyasyoṣmāṇo bṛhataḥ svarāḥ | prāṇasya rūpaṃ sparśā apānasyoṣmāṇo manasaḥ svarāḥ | prāṇasya rūpaṃ sparśā apānasyoṣmāṇa udānasya svarāḥ svarā iti punardattaḥ | eṣa u haiva sarvāṃ vācaṃ veda ya evaṃ veda ||
ŚĀ 8,9 atha khalv iyaṃ daivī vīṇā bhavati tadanukṛtir asau mānuṣī bhavati | tad yatheyaṃ śastravatī tardmavatī bhavaty evam evāsau śastravatī tardmavatī bhavati | tad yathāsyāḥ śira evam amuṣyāḥ śiraḥ | tad yathāsyai vaṃśa evam amuṣyā daṇḍaḥ | tad yathāsyā udaram evam amuṣyā ambhaṇaṃ | tad yathāsyai mukhanāsike akṣiṇī ity evam amuṣyāś chidrāṇi | tad yathāsyā aṅgulinigrahā upastaraṇānīty evam amuṣyāḥ parvāṇi | tad yathāsyā aṅgulaya evam amuṣyās tantryaḥ | tad yathāsyai jihvaivam amuṣyā vādanam | tad yathāsyāḥ svarā evam amuṣyāḥ svarāḥ | tad yathā haiveyaṃ romaśena carmaṇāpihitā bhavaty evam evāsau romaśena carmaṇāpihitā bhavati | romaśena ha sma carmaṇā purā vīṇā apidadhati | saiṣā daivī vīṇā bhavati | sa ya evam etāṃ daivīṃ vīṇāṃ veda śrutavadanatamo bhavati bhūmiprāsya kīrtir bhavati +śuśrūṣante hāsya parṣatsu bhāṣyamāṇasyedam astu yad ayam īhate yatrāryā vāg vadati vidur enaṃ tatra ||
ŚĀ 8,10 athātas tāṇḍavindasya vacaḥ | tad yatheyaṃ akuśalena vādayitrāvīṇārabdhā na kṛtsnaṃ vīṇārthaṃ sādhayaty evam evākuśalena vaktrā vāg ārabdhā na kṛtsnaṃ vāg arthaṃ sādhayati | tad yathā haiveyaṃ kuśalena vādayitrā vīṇārabdhā kṛtsnaṃ vīṇārthaṃ sādhayaty evam eva kuśalena vaktrā vāg ārabdhā kṛtsnaṃ vāg arthaṃ sādhayati | tasyai vā etasyai vīṇāyai yā tviṣiḥ sā saṃhiteti kātyāyanīputro jātūkarṇyaḥ | atha ha smaitat kṛtsnahārito brāhmaṇam evodāharati ||
ŚĀ 8,11 prajāpatiḥ prajāḥ sṛṣṭvā vyasraṃsata sa chandobhir ātmānaṃ samadadhat | tad yac chandobhir ātmānaṃ samadadhat tasmāt saṃhitā | tasyai vā etasyai saṃhitāyai ṇakaro balaṃ ṣakāraḥ prāṇa ātmā saṃhitā | athaiṣā kṣudramiśrā vikṛtis tāni nakhāni romāṇi vyañjanānīti | sa yo 'tra vicikitset saṇakāraṃ eva brūyād ṛte ṇakāram iti saṇakāram eva brūyāt | evam eva yo 'tra vicikitset saṣakāraṃ eva brūyād ṛte ṣakāram iti saṣakāram eva brūyāt | tau vā etau ṇakāraṣakārau vidvān anusaṃhitam ṛco 'dhīyītāyuṣyam iti vidyād evam eva vidyāt | atha vāg itihāsapurāṇaṃ yac cānyat kiṃcid brāhmīkṛtyevādhīyīta tad apy evam eva vidyāt | te yad vayam anusaṃhitam ṛco 'dhīmahe yac ca māṇḍūkeyīyam adhyāyaṃ prabrūmas tena no ṇakāraṣakārā upāptāv iti ha smāha hrasvo māṇḍūkeyaḥ | atha yad vayam anusaṃhitam ṛco 'dhīmahe yac ca svādhyāyam adhīmahe tena no ṇakāraṣakārā upāptāv iti ha smāha sthaviraḥ śākalyaḥ | etad dha sma vai tad vidvāṃsa āhuḥ kāvaṣeyāḥ kimarthā vayaṃ yakṣyāmahe kimarthā vayam adheṣyāmahe vāci hi prāṇaṃ juhumaḥ prāṇe vācaṃ yo hy eva prabhavaḥ sa evāpyaya iti | tā etāḥ saṃhitā nānantevāsine brūyān nāsaṃvatsaravāsine nābrahmacāriṇe nāvedavide nāpavaktra ity ācāryā ity ācāryāḥ ||
iti śāṅkhāyanāraṇyake aṣṭamo 'dhyāyaḥ ||
ŚĀ 9,1 om | tat savitur vṛṇīmahe | vayaṃ devasya bhojanam | śreṣṭhaṃ sarvadhātamam | turaṃ bhagasya dhīmahi | tat savitur vareṇyaṃ | bhargo devasya dhīmahi | dhiyo yo naḥ pracodayāt || adabdhaṃ mana iṣiraṃ cakṣuḥ | sūryo jyotiṣāṃ śreṣṭho dīkṣe mā mā hiṃsīḥ ||
ŚĀ 9,2 yo ha vai jyeṣṭhaṃ ca śreṣṭhaṃ ca veda jyeṣṭhaś ca ha vai śreṣṭhaś ca svānāṃ bhavati | prāṇo vai jyeṣṭhaś ca śreṣṭhaś ca | yo ha vai vasiṣṭhāṃ veda vasiṣṭho ha svānāṃ bhavati vāg vai vasiṣṭhā | yo ha vai pratiṣṭhāṃ veda prati ha tiṣṭhaty asmiṃś ca loke 'muṣmiṃś ca cakṣur ha pratiṣṭhā | yo ha vai saṃpadaṃ veda saṃ hāsmai kāmāḥ saṃpadyante śrotraṃ ha vā u saṃpat | yo ha vā āyatanaṃ vedāyatano ha svānāṃ bhavati mano vā āyatanam | atha hemā devatāḥ prajāpatiṃ pitaram etyābruvan ko vai naḥ śreṣṭha iti | sa hovāca prajāpatir yasmin va utkrānte śarīraṃ pāpiṣṭham iva manyate sa vai śreṣṭha iti ||
ŚĀ 9,3 sā ha vāg uccakrāma | yathā mūkā avadantaḥ prāṇantaḥ prāṇena paśyantaś cakṣuṣā śṛṇvantaḥ śrotreṇa dhyāyanto manasaivam iti ||
ŚĀ 9,4 cakṣur hoccakrāma | yathāndhā apaśyantaḥ prāṇantaḥ prāṇena vadanto vācā śṛṇvantaḥ śrotreṇa dhyāyanto manasaivam iti ||
ŚĀ 9,5 śrotraṃ hoccakrāma | yathā badhirā aśṛṇvantaḥ prāṇantaḥ prāṇena vadanto vācā paśyantaḥ cakṣuṣā dhyāyanto manasaivam iti ||
ŚĀ 9,6 mano hoccakrāma | yathā bālā amanasaḥ prāṇantaḥ prāṇena vadanto vācā paśyantaḥ cakṣuṣā śṛṇvantaḥ śrotreṇaivam iti ||
ŚĀ 9,7 prāṇo hoccakrāma | tatas tad yatheha saindhavaḥ suhayaḥ paḍbīśaśaṅkūn saṃkhided evam asau prāṇān samakhidat | te ha sametyocur bhagavan motkramīr iti | sa hovāca prāṇaḥ kiṃ me 'nnaṃ bhaviṣyatīti | yat kiṃcāśvabhya ivāśakunibhya iti | kiṃ me vāso bhaviṣyatīty āpa iti hocuḥ | tasmād vā ayam aśiṣyan purastāc copariṣṭāc cādbhiḥ paridadhāti | lambhuko hāsya vāso bhavaty anagno hi bhavati | had dha smaitat satyakāmo jābālo gośrute vaiyāghrapadyāyoktvovāca | apy evaṃ śuṣkasya sthāṇoḥ prabrūyāj jayerann asya śākhāḥ praroheyuḥ palāśanīti | vanaspate śatavalśo viroheti dyāṃ mā lekhīr antarikṣaṃ mā mā hiṃsīr iti ha yājñavalkyaḥ ||
ŚĀ 9,8 atha yadi mahaj jigamiṣet trirātraṃ dīkṣitvāmāvāsyāyāṃ sarvauṣadasya manthaṃ dadhimadhubhyām upamanthyāgnim upassamādhāya parisamuhya paristīrya paryukṣya dakṣiṇaṃ jānv ācyottarato 'gneḥ kaṃse manthaṃ kṛtvā hutvā homān manthe saṃpātaṃ ānayet | jyeṣṭhāya śreṣṭhāya svāhety agnau hutvā manthe saṃpātam ānayet | pratiṣṭhāyai svāhety agnau hutvā manthe saṃpātam ānayet | saṃpade svāhety agnau hutvā manthe saṃpātam ānayet | tat savitur vareṇyam iti pacchaḥ prāśya tat savitur vṛṇīmaha iti paccha ācāmati mahāvyāhṛtibhiś caturthaṃ nirṇijya kāṃsyaṃ carmaṇi vā sthaṇḍile vā saṃviśati | sa yadi striyaṃ paśyet samṛddhaṃ karmeti vidyāt samṛddhaṃ karmeti vidyāt ||
iti śāṅkhāyanāraṇyake navamo 'dhyāyaḥ ||
ŚĀ 10,1 athāto 'dhyātmikam | āntaram agnihotram ity ācakṣate | etā ha vai devatāḥ puruṣa eva pratiṣṭhitā agnir vāci vāyuḥ prāṇa ādityaś cakṣuṣi candramā manasi diśaḥ śrotra āpo retasi | etāsu ha vai sarvāsu hutaṃ bhavati ya evaṃ vidvān aśnāti ca pibati cāśayati ca pāyayati ca | so 'śnāti sa pibati sa tṛpyati sa tarpayati ||
ŚĀ 10,2 sa tṛpto vācaṃ tarpayati | vāk tṛptāgniṃ tarpayati | agnis tṛptaḥ pṛthivīṃ tarpayati | pṛthivī tṛptā yat kiṃcit pṛthhivyāpihitaṃ bhavad bhaviṣyad bhūtaṃ tat sarvaṃ tarpayati | ya evaṃ vidvān aśnāti ca pibati cāśayati ca pāyayati ca so 'śnāti sa pibati sa tṛpyati sa tarpayati ||
ŚĀ 10,3 sa tṛptaḥ prāṇaṃ tarpayati | prāṇas tṛpto vāyuṃ tarpayati | vāyus tṛpta ākāśaṃ tarpayati | ākāśas tṛpto yat kiṃcākāśenāpihitam bhavad bhaviṣyad bhūtaṃ tat sarvaṃ tarpayati | ya evaṃ vidvān aśnāti ca pibati cāśayati ca pāyayati ca so 'śnāti sa pibati sa tṛpyati sa tarpayati ||
ŚĀ 10,4 sa tṛptaś cakṣus tarpayati | cakṣus tṛptam ādityaṃ tarpayati | ādityas tṛpto divaṃ tarpayati |dyaus tṛptā yat kiṃcid divāpihitam bhavad bhaviṣyad bhūtaṃ tat sarvaṃ tarpayati | ya evaṃ vidvān aśnāti ca pibati cāśayati ca pāyayati ca so 'śnāti sa pibati sa tṛpyati sa tarpayati ||
ŚĀ 10,5 sa tṛpto manas tarpayati | manas tṛptaṃ candramasaṃ tarpayati | candramās tṛpto nakṣatrāṇi tarpayati | nakṣatrāṇi tṛptāni māsāṃs tarpayanti | māsās tṛptā ardhamāsāṃs tarpayanti | ardhamāsās tṛptā ahorātre tarpayanti | ahorātre tṛpte ṛtūṃs tarpayataḥ | ṛtavas tṛptāḥ saṃvatsaraṃ tarpayanti | saṃvatsaras tṛpto yat kiṃcit saṃvatsareṇāpihitam bhavad bhaviṣyad bhūtaṃ tat sarvaṃ tarpayati | ya evaṃ vidvān aśnāti ca pibati cāśayati ca pāyayati ca so 'śnāti sa pibati sa tṛpyati sa tarpayati ||
ŚĀ 10,6 sa tṛptaḥ śrotraṃ tarpayati | śrotraṃ tṛptaṃ diśas tarpayati | diśas tṛptā avāntaradiśas tarpayanti | avāntaradiśas tṛptā yat kiṃcāvāntaradigbhir apihitam bhavad bhaviṣyad bhūtaṃ tat sarvaṃ tarpayati | ya evaṃ vidvān aśnāti ca pibati cāśayati ca pāyayati ca so 'śnāti sa pibati sa tṛpyati sa tarpayati ||
ŚĀ 10,7 sa tṛpto retas tarpayati | retas tṛptam apas tarpayati | āpas tṛptā nadīṃs tarpayanti | nadyas tṛptāḥ samudraṃ tarpayanti | samudro tṛpto yat kiṃcit samudreṇāpihitam bhavad bhaviṣyad bhūtaṃ tat sarvaṃ tarpayati | ya evaṃ vidvān aśnāti ca pibati cāśayati ca pāyayati ca so 'śnāti sa pibati sa tṛpyati sa tarpayati ||
ŚĀ 10,8 sa tṛptas tad etad vairājaṃ daśavidhaṃ agnihotraṃ bhavati | tasya prāṇa evāhavanīyaḥ | apāno gārhapatyo vyāno 'nvāhāryapacano mano dhūmo manyur arcir dantā aṅgārāḥ śraddhā payo vāk samit satyam āhutiḥ prajñātmā sa rasaḥ | tad etad vairājaṃ daśavidhaṃ agnihotraṃ hutaṃ bhavati | rohobhyāṃ rohobhyām abhyārūḷham abhi svargaṃ lokaṃ gamayati ya evaṃ vidvān aśnāti ca pibati cāśayati ca pāyayati ca | atha ya idam avidvān agnihotraṃ juhoti yathāṅgārān apohya bhasmani hutaṃ tādṛk tatyās tādṛk tat syāt ||
iti śāṅkhāyanāraṇyake daśamo 'dhyāyaḥ ||
ŚĀ 11,1 prajāpatir vā imaṃ puruṣam udañcata | tasminn etā devatā āveśayad vācy agniṃ prāṇe vāyuṃ apāne vidyuta udāne parjanyaṃ cakṣuṣy ādityaṃ manasi candramasaṃ śrotre diśaḥ śarīre pṛthivīṃ retasy apo bala indraṃ manyāv īśānaṃ mūrdhany ākāśaṃ ātmani brahma | sa yathā mahān amṛtakumbhaḥ pinvamānas tiṣṭhed evaṃ haiva sa tasthau | atha hemā devatā īkṣāṃ cakrire kim ayam asmābhiḥ puruṣaḥ kariṣyati kiṃ vā vayam anena | hantāsmāc carīrād utkramāmeti | tā hoccakramuḥ | atha hedaṃ śarīraṃ riktam iva parisuṣiraṃ sa hekṣāñcakre prajāpatī randhrāya na kṣamam | hantāham imā aśanāyāpipāsābhyām upasṛjā iti | tā hopasasṛje | tā hopāṣrṣṭāḥ sukhaṃ alabhamānā imam eva puruṣaṃ punaḥ pratyāviviśuḥ ||
ŚĀ 11,2 vāṅ mamety agnir āviveśa | prāṇo mameti vāyur āviveśa | apāno mameti vidyuta āviviśuḥ | udāno mameti parjanya āviveśa | cakṣur mamety āditya āviveśa | mano mameti candramā āviveśa | śrotram asmākam iti diśa āviviśuḥ | śarīraṃ mameti pṛthivy āviveśa | reto 'smākam ity āpa āviviśuḥ | balaṃ mametīndra āviveśa | manyur mametīśāna āviveśa | mūrdhā mamety ākāśa āviveśa | ātmā mameti brahmāviveśa | sa yathā mahān vṛkṣa ārdra upasiktamūlas tiṣṭhed evaṃ haiva sa tasthau ||
ŚĀ 11,3 athāyaṃ puruṣaḥ preṣyan purā saṃvatsarāt saṃvatsarasya dṛṣṭīḥ paśyati | chidrā chāyā bhavati na vā bhavati | mahāmeghe vā marīcīr iva paśyed anabhre vā vidyutaṃ paśyed abhra enāṃ na paśyet | akṣiṇī vā apidhāya varāṭakānīvā na paśyati | karṇau vāpidhāyopabdim iva na śṛṇoti | nāsmiṁl loke ramate nainaṃ manaś chandayati | iti pratyakṣadarśanāni ||
ŚĀ 11,4 atha svapnāḥ | puruṣaṃ kṛṣṇaṃ kṛṣṇadantaṃ paśyati sa enaṃ hanti varāha enaṃ hanti markaṭa enaṃ hanti enaṃ hanti bisāni khādayati suvarṇaṃ bhakṣayitvāvagiraty ekapauṇḍarīkaṃ dhārayati gāṃ savatsāṃ dakṣiṇāmukho naladamālī vrājayati | sa yady eteṣāṃ kiṃcit paśyet pāṇḍuradarśanāṃ kālīṃ strīṃ muktakeśāṃ muṇḍāṃ tailābhyaṅgaṃ kausumbhaparidhānaṃ gītāny uṣṭrārohanaṃ dakṣiṇāśāgamanādīni vīkṣyopoṣya pāyasaṃ sthālīpākaṃ śrapayitvā sarūpavatsāyā goḥ payasi na tv eva tu kṛṣṇāyā agnim upasamādhāya parisamuhya paristīrya paryukṣya dakṣiṇaṃ jānv ācya sruveṇājyahutīr juhoti ||

ŚĀ 11,7 aśmā jāgatam ayas traiṣṭubhaṃ loham auṣṇihaṃ sīsaṃ kākubhaṃ rajataṃ svārājyaṃ suvarṇaṃ gāyatram annaṃ vairājaṃ tṛptir ānuṣṭubhaṃ nākaṃ sāmrājyaṃ bṛhaspatir bārhataṃ brahma pāṅktaṃ prajāpatir ātichandasaṃ sāvitrī sarvavedachandasena chandaseti ||

ŚĀ 12,1 om | hastivarcasaṃ prathatāṃ bṛhad vayo yad adityai tanvaḥ saṃbabhūva | tan mahyaṃ samaduḥ sarva eta ādityāso adityā saṃvidānāḥ ||1|| yat te varco jātavedo bṛhad bhavaty āhitam | tena mā varcasā tvam agne varcasvinaṃ kuru ||2|| yac ca varco vā puruṣe yac ca hastiṣv āhitam | suvarṇe goṣu yad varco mayi tad dhastivarcasam ||3|| yad akṣeṣu hiraṇyeṣu goṣv aśveṣu yad yaśaḥ | surāyāṃ pūyamānāyāṃ mayi tad dhastivarcasam ||4|| mayi bhargo mayi maho mayi yajñasya yad yaśaḥ | tan mayi prajāpatir divi divam iva dṛṃhatu ||5||
ŚĀ 12,2 aśvinā sāragheṇa mā sam aṅktāṃ madhunā payaḥ | yathā madhumatīṃ vācam āvadāni janeṣu ||6|| ghṛtād ullupto madhumān payasvān dhanaṃjayo dharuṇo dhārayiṣṇuḥ | rujan sapatnān adharāṃś ca kṛṇvan ā roha māṃ mahate saubhagāya ||7|| prajāpate na tvad etāny anyo viśvā jatāni pari tā babhūva | yatkāmās te juhumas tan no astu vayaṃ syāma patayo rayīṇām ||8|| ayaṃ sano nudatāṃ me sapatnān indra iva vṛtraṃ pṛtanāsu sāḷhā | agnir iva kakṣaṃ vibhṛtaḥ purutrā vāteṣu nas tigmajambho 'nu mārṣṭi ||9|| ayaṃ sano yo 'nuvādī kīla iva vṛtraṃ vi puro ruroja | anenendro vi mṛdho vihatyā śatrūyatām ābharā bhojanāni ||10||
ŚĀ 12,3 jayendra śatrūñ jahi śūra dasyūn vṛtraṃ hatveva kuliśenā vi vṛśca | augha iva śāpān pra ṇudāt sapatnāñ jahyāt sapatnān svadhitir vaneva ||11|| anu vṛśca madhyāt prati vṛścopariṣṭād vi vṛśca paścāt prati śūra vṛśca | tvayā praṇuttān maghavann amitrān śūra riṣantaṃ maruto 'nu yantu ||12|| tvāṃ rudrair hetibhiḥ pinvamānā indraṃ manvānā maruto juṣanta | suparṇāḥ kaṅkāḥ pra mṛśanto enān mahīyatāṃ daṃṣṭrī vardhaneṣu ||13|| brahmaṇuttasya maghavan pṛtanyato viṣvag indra bhaṅgāḥ patantu | mā jñātāram īśata mā pratiṣṭhāṃ mitho vighnānā upa yānti mṛtyum ||14|| agne yaśasvin yaśase sam arpayendravatīm apacitim ihā vaha | ayaṃ mūrdhā parameṣṭhī suvarcāḥ sajātānām uttamaśloko astu ||15||
ŚĀ 12,4 bhadraṃ paśyanta upa sedur āgan tato dīkṣām ṛṣayaḥ svarvidaḥ | tataḥ kṣatraṃ balam ojaś ca jātaṃ tad asmai devā abhi saṃ namantām ||16|| dhātā vidhātā paramota saṃdṛk prajāpatiḥ parameṣṭhī suvarccāḥ | stomāṃś chandāṃsi nivido ma āhur etasmai rāṣṭram abhi saṃ namantām ||17|| abhy ā vartadhvam upa sevatāgnim ayaṃ śāstādhipatir no astu | asya vijñānam anu saṃ rabhadhvam imaṃ paścād anu jīvātha sarve ||18|| alardo nāma jāto 'si purā sūryāt puroṣasaḥ | taṃ tvā sapatnakṣayaṇaṃ vedātha viṣṭambhajambhanam ||19|| nārdhe pramīyeta tared dviṣantaṃ kalpeta vākyaṃ pṛtanāḥ saheta | pramāyukaṃ tasya dviṣantam āhur irāmaṇiṃ bailvaṃ yo bibhartti ||20||
ŚĀ 12,5 na sa śaptam aśnāti kilbiṣaṃ kṛtaṃ nainaṃ divyo varuṇo hanti bhītam | nainaṃ kruddhaṃ manyavo 'bhi yantīrāmaṇiṃ bailvaṃ yo bibhartti ||21|| nāsya tvacaṃ hiṃsati jātvedā na māṃsam aśnāti na hanti tāni | śatāyur asmiñ jaradaṣṭiḥ praitīrāmaṇiṃ bailvaṃ yo bibhartti ||22|| nāsya prajā duṣyati jāyamānā na śailago bhavati na pāpakṛtyā | nānyan mithas tasya kuleṣu jāyata irāmaṇiṃ bailvaṃ yo bibhartti ||23|| nāsyāpavādā na pravādakā gṛhe na saṃpatatryo na viveśa tasmai | nāsminn alakṣmīḥ kurute niveśanam irāmaṇiṃ bailvaṃ yo bibhartti ||24|| nainaṃ rakṣo na piśāco hinasti na jambhako nāpy asuro na yakṣaḥ | na sūtikā tasya kuleṣu jāyate irāmaṇiṃ bailvaṃ yo bibhartti ||25||
ŚĀ 12,6 nainaṃ vyāghro na vṛko na dvīpī na śvāpadaṃ hiṃsati kiṃcanainam | na hastinaṃ kruddham upaiti bhītim irāmaṇiṃ bailvaṃ yo bibhartti ||26|| nainaṃ sarpo na pṛdākur hinasti na vṛściko na tiraścīnarājiḥ | nainaṃ kṛṣṇo 'hir abhi saṃhata irāmaṇiṃ bailvaṃ yo bibhartti ||27|| nainaṃ pramattaṃ varuṇo hinasti na makaro na grahaḥ śiṃśumāraḥ | pārāvarāc chivam asmai kṛṇotīrāmaṇiṃ bailvaṃ yo bibhartti ||28|| pramāyukam asya dviṣantam āhuḥ | puṣpam iva chinnaṃ saha bandhanena | ogha iva śāpān pra ṇudāt sapatnān | irāmaṇiṃ bailvaṃ yo bibhartti ||29|| ayaṃ maṇiḥ pratisaro jāmbo jīvāya badhyate | anenendro vṛtram ahann ṛṣiṇā ca manīṣiṇā ||30||
ŚĀ 12,7 sahendra dviṣataḥ sahasvārātīḥ sahasva pṛtanāyataḥ | nāga iva pūrvapādābhyām abhi tiṣṭha pṛtanyataḥ ||31|| āgād ayaṃ bailvo maṇiḥ sapatnakṣapaṇo vṛṣā | taṃ paśyanti kavayaḥ sarvavīrā yathā sapatnān samare saheyuḥ ||32|| anṛtaṃ me maṇau sūtram aśvināv api nahyatām | bailvaḥ sahasravīryo 'si mā te bhartā riṣam aham ||33|| ghṛtād ullupto madhumān payasvān dhanaṃjayo dharuṇo dhārayiṣṇuḥ | rujan sapatnān adharāṃś ca kṛṇvan ā roha māṃ mahate saubhagāya ||34|| prajāpate na tvad etāny anyo viśvā jatāni pari tā babhūva | yatkāmas te juhumas tan no astu vayaṃ syāma patayo rayīṇām ||35|| śāsa itthā mahāṁ asīti pañca ||
ŚĀ 12,8 athāto maṇikalpaḥ | bhūtikāmaḥ puṣpeṇa trirātropoṣito jīvato hastino dantān mātrām uddhṛtyāgnim upasamādhāya parisamuhya paristīrya paryukṣya dakṣiṇaṃ jānv ācyottarato 'gneḥ kaṃse maṇiṃ kṛtvā hutvā homān maṇau saṃpātam ānayet | hastivarcasam ity etābhiḥ pratyṛcam aṣṭābhiḥ saptarātraṃ madhusarpiṣor vāsayitvā trirātram ekāṃ vā badhnīyād ghṛtād ullupta ity etayarcā | ata evottaraṃ ṣaḍbhir hṛdayaśūlāgramaṇiṃ pratodāgramaṇiṃ vā muśalāgramaṇiṃ vā khadirasāramaṇiṃ vā māṃsaudane vāsayitvā trirātram ekāṃ vā badhnīyāt | ata evottaraṃ catasṛbhir vṛṣabhaśṛṅgāgramaṇiṃ ghṛtaudane vāsayitvā trirātram ekāṃ vā badhnīyāt | ata evottaraṃ ekayairaṇḍamaṇiṃ tilaudane vāsayitvā trirātram ekāṃ vā badhnīyāt | ata evottaraṃ ṣoḷaśabhir bailvaṃ saptarātraṃ madhusarpiṣor vāsayitvā trirātram ekāṃ vā badhnīyād ghṛtād ullupta ity etayarcā | ata evottaraṃ pañcabhir mahāvarāsyodohaṃ mudgaudane vāsayitvā trirātram ekāṃ vā badhnīyāc chaktau sati prathamaṃ hastichāyāyāṃ vaiyāghre vāpi carmaṇy āsīno vāpi juhuyād āsīno vāpi juhuyāt ||
iti śāṅkhāyanāraṇyake dvādaśamo 'dhyāyaḥ ||
ŚĀ 13,1 athāto vairāgyasaṃskṛte śarīre brahmayajñaniṣṭho bhavet | apa punarmṛtyuṃ jayati | tad u ha vātmā draṣṭavyaḥ śrotavyo mantavyo nididhyāsitavya iti | tam etaṃ vedānuvacanena vividiṣanti brahmacaryeṇa tapasā śraddhayā yajñenānāśakena ceti māṇḍūkeyaḥ | tasmād evaṃvic chānto dānta uparatas titikṣuḥ śraddhāvitto bhūtvātmany evātmānaṃ paśyed iti māṇḍavyaḥ | yo 'yaṃ vijñānamayaḥ puruṣaḥ prāṇeṣu sa eṣa neti nety ātmā na gṛhya idaṃ brahmedaṃ kṣatram ime devā ime vedā ime lokā imāni sarvāṇi bhūtānīdaṃ sarvaṃ yad ayam ātmā | sa eṣa tat tvam asīty ātmāvagamyo 'haṃ brahmāsmīti | tad etad brahmāpūrvam aparam anaparam anantaram abāhyam ayam ātmā brahma sarvānubhūr ity anuśāsanam iti yājñavalkyaḥ | tad etan nāputrāya nānantevāsine vā brūyād iti | ya imām adbhiḥ parigṛhītāṃ vasumatīṃ dhanasya pūrṇāṃ dadyād idam eva tato bhūya idam eva tato bhūya ity anuśāsanam | tām etām upaniṣadaṃ vedaśiro na yathā kathaṃ cana vadet | tad etad ṛcābhyuditam ||
iti śāṅkhāyanāraṇyake trayodaśamo 'dhyāyaḥ ||
ŚĀ 14,1 ṛcāṃ mūrdhānaṃ yajuṣām uttamāṅgam | sāmnāṃ śiro 'tharvāṇāṃ muṇḍamuṇḍam | nādhīte 'dhīte vedam āhus tam ajñam | śiraś chitvāsau kurute kabandham ||
ŚĀ 14,2 sthāṇur ayaṃ bhārahāraḥ kilābhūt | adhītya vedaṃ na vijānāti yo 'rtham | yo 'rthajña it sakalaṃ bhadram aśnute | nākam eti jñānavidhūtapāpmā ||
iti śāṅkhāyanāraṇyake caturdaśamo 'dhyāyaḥ ||
ŚĀ 15,1 atha vaṃśaḥ | oṃ namo brahmaṇe nama ācāryebhyaḥ | guṇākhyāc chāṅkhāyanād asmābhir adhītam | guṇākhyaś śāṅkhāyanaḥ kahoḷāt kauṣītakeḥ | kahoḷaḥ kauṣītakir uddālakād āruṇeḥ | uddālaka āruṇiḥ priyavratāt saumāpeḥ | priyavrataḥ saumāpiḥ somapāt | somapaḥ saumāt prātiveśyāt | saumaḥ prātiveśyaḥ prativeśyāt | prativeśyo bṛhaddivāt | bṛhaddivaḥ sumnayoḥ | sumnayur uddālakāt | uddālako viśvamanasaḥ | viśvamanā vyaśvāt | vyaśvaḥ sākamaśvāt | sākamaśvo devarātāt | devarāto viśvāmitrāt | viśvāmitra indrāt | indraḥ prajāpateḥ | prajāpatir brahmaṇaḥ | brahmā svayaṃbhūḥ | namo brahmaṇe namo brahmaṇe ||
