yat tatrāhuḥ--- "abhidheyaḥ padārthaḥ /
sa ca bhāvābhāvabhedena dvidhā" iti, tat tāvat "asadvyapadeśānneti cenna, dharmāntareṇa vākyaśeṣādyukteḥ, śabdāntarācca" ityārambhaṇādhikaraṇasūtreṇābhāvasya parābhyupagatābhāvābhāvasyeva bhāvāntaratvasamarthanāt pratikṣiptam /
yadapi ca--- dravyaguṇakarmasāmānyaviśeṣasamavāyarūpeṇa bhāvarūpāṇāṃ padārthānāṃ ṣoḍhā parisaṃkhyānam, tadapi vaiśeṣikādhikaraṇe "samavāyābhyupagamācca sāmyādanavasthiteḥ" iti sūtrakāraireva samavāyākhyapadārthāntaradūśaṇena parāstam /
abhāvatadadhikaraṇayorviśeṣaṇaviśeṣyabhāvasaṃnidhiviśeṣādiśabdavācyasaṃbandhāntarānumānamapi samavāyadūṣaṇacchāyayaiva dūṣitameva /
yaścānyonyamatyantatulyeṣu muktātmādiṣu mitho vyāvṛttadhījananāya dravyatvādihetunā viśeṣākhyaḥ padārthaḥ kalpyate, sopi tulyanyāyatayā sūtrakārairdūṣitaprāya eva /
"mahaddīrghavadvā hvasvaparimaṇḍalābhyām" ityanupapannaparamāṇudvyaṇukādiprakriyānidarśanenānyeṣāmapi tadabhyupagatānāmunapapannatvasya sūcitatvācca /
api cānityeṣu dravyeṣu tāvajjātiguṇapādibhireva vyāvṛttadhīḥ sidhyatīti nityeṣu hi viśeṣonyaḥ kalpyate; yathāhuḥ--- "nityadravyavṛttayontyā viśeṣāḥ" iti, tathāpi vedāntibhirdiksaṃjñakavibhupadārthāntarānabhyupagamādākāśasya ca kāryatvādiśruteḥ prakṛtivikārabhūtapṛthivyādyaṃśaviśeṣātiriktaparamāṇujālapratikṣepāt tathāvidhaparamāṇūnāṃ cāvasthāpravāhasyānādyantatvānna tatra viśeṣakḷptiḥ /
tataḥ kālātmānau pariśiṣyete /
tatrāpi cetanānāṃ na kālatattvamātmatayā bhāti /
kṣaṇalavādyavasthāyogitvaparāktvācetanatvādibhireva, tasmāt sveṣāṃ svebhyaśca tasya vyāvṛttadhīsaṃbhavāt /
anyathānyenāpi kalpitena tadasaṃbhavaprasaṅgāt /
ataḥ ātmapariśeṣe tatrāpi jīveśvarayoraṇutvavibhutvaniyāmyatvaniyantṛtvādheyatvādhāratvaśeṣatvaśeṣitvaśarīratvaśarīr itvābhiranekavidhairdharmabhedairvyāvṛttadhīsiddhau kimanyena viśeṣeṇa ? /
tadatyantasāmyavatsu mukteṣu nityeṣvapi hi tatsāmyasyaiva saṃrakṣaṇāya dharmigrāhakasiddhā yāvadātmabhāvinaste te viśeṣā na parityaktāḥ /
na ceśvaradvaitam; yeneśvarāṇāṃ mithovyāvṛttapratītyai viśeṣaṃ kalpayiṣyāmaḥ, ekasyaiva sarvadeśakāleṣvekātapatratayā sarvaśrutisiddhatvāt, asyaiva ca sāmānyaśabdairviśeṣaśabdaiśca rūḍhito yogatastattadvasatuviśiṣṭatvādinā ca tattatprakaraṇānuguṇaṃ śarīrake pratipādyatvasthāpanāt /
jīveṣvapi baddhānāṃ mitho bhedastattatsukhaduḥkhadhīcchāvaicitryeṇa vyaktaḥ /
baddhamuktayośca kiñcijjñatvasarvajñatvādibhiḥ, muktānāṃ nityānāṃ ca viśuddherādimattvānādimattvābhyāmeva vibhaktadhīsaṃbhavaḥ /
muktadaśāyāṃ nityebhyaḥ kiṃ vaiṣmyamiti cet, kiṃ tena ? /
prāktanena tattadātmavartitayā pratyakṣitena guṇādibhedena tadanyavyāvṛttadhīsiddheḥ /
siddhairapi tadvyavahāre prāktanopādhibhedaireva tattatpramāṇapramitaiḥ pratisaṃhitaiḥ sarvanirvāhāt /
etena muktānāṃ mitho vibhaktabuddhirapi nirvyūḍhā; na hi teṣāmekarūpaḥ prāktanaḥ saṃsāraḥ; viṣamavipākasamayānādyasaṃkhyātakarmapravāhavaicitryapratiniyatadeśakālasvarūpasukhaduḥkhatatkāraṇādisaṃtatereva mitho vyāvartakatvāt /
tadatadvibhāgo hi tatkālavartinaivaṃ dharmeṇeti na niyamaḥ, atatkālavartināpi tanniṣṭhatayopalabhyamānena tatsiddheḥ; na hyatītaḥ saṃsāro muktātmasvarūpamupalabhamānairnopalabhyate, upalabhyamāno vānyaniṣṭhaḥ pratibhāti /
atha nityeṣu mithaḥ kā vārtrā ? /
sāpi kuśalaiva /
teṣāmapi hi satyasaṃkalpānāṃ vicitrāḥ saṃkalpecchādaya riśvarasyevāniyatadeśakālaviṣayāparyanuyojyasāmagrīkā anādyanantasaṃtānavantaḥ santīti kimanyena viśeṣeṇa ? /
api ca yaddarśane yatra yadāropo na bhavati sa hi tasya tato bhedaḥ /
sa eva ca viśeṣaḥ /
sa cet svarūpabhūtohantvamādirūpeṇa bhātaḥ parāropaṃ pratirundhyāt, kastatonyastato viśeṣastasya ? /
evamanabhyupagame viśeṣakḷptāvapi kā gatirvaiśeṣikasya ? svaparanirvāhakāste viśeṣāḥ, iti cet, kiṃ ta eva? /
api ca pṛthaktve vidyamāne kiṃ tairviśeṣaiḥ ? /
pṛthaktvasyaikajātisaṃgṛhītatvānna tatopi vyāvṛttadhīrīti cet, tarhi tato na kvacidapi syāt /
viśeṣeṣvapi vā viśeṣatvākrānteṣu kaste nistāraḥ ? /
viśeṣatvaṃ nāma jātirnāstīti cet, kiṃ tat ? /
upādhiriticet, kiṃ tato na saṃgrahaḥ?, tathā sati kvacidapi tannibandhanānuvṛttadhībhaṅgaprasaṅgāt /
evamanyonyābhāvenāpi gatārthatā dustareti parāstaḥ parābhimataviśeṣaḥ /
sāmānyamapi paroktaṃ sūtrakāraireva nirastaprāyam; tathāhi--- "tadananyatvamārambhaṇaśabdādibhyaḥ---" ityādibhiḥ sūtraiḥ kāryadaśāyāmupādānasyāvasthāntarāpattimātrameva, na punaḥ parābhimatamavayavyākhyaṃ dravyamastīti samarthanād ghaṭādyavayavyabhāve tadāśritaghaṭatvādisāmānyamavayavisamavetatayābhyupagataguṇādayastadubhayārambhaprakriyājālaṃ ca nirmūlitam /
yaccopādānasya ghaṭatvādirūpamavasthāntaraṃ saṃyogaviśeṣādirūpaṃ, tat parairapi kāryatayābhyupetamupalambhādibhiśca tathaiva sidhyatīti na tatrāpi nityatvakalpanāvakāśaḥ /
tataḥ sarveṣāṃ dravyāṇāṃ svarūpatonādyanantatvāt kāryadravyatvātmatvādimātrameva śiṣyate /
guṇeṣu nityeṣvavasthārūpeṣu cānuvṛttapratyayanimittaṃ kimiti cintyam; tatraivaṃ bhāṣitaṃ śārīrakādye--- "saṃsthānātirekiṇonekeṣvekākārabuddhibodhyasyādarśanāt, tāvataiva gotvādijātivyavahāropapatteḥ, atirekavādepi saṃsthānasya saṃpratipannatvācca saṃsthānameva jāti /
saṃsthānaṃ nāma svāsādhāraṇaṃ rūpamiti yathāvastu saṃsthānamanusaṃdheyam" iti /
etaduktaṃ bhavati--- kiṃ saṃsthānātiriktaṃ sāmānyaṃ viviktasphuṭapratyakṣādhyavasāyabhedādaṅgīkriyate, utopapattibalāditi; nādyaḥ, asiddheḥ nāntyaḥ, anyathāsiddheḥ; atiriktasāmānyamabhyupagacchatopi hi tadupalakṣaṇaṃ saṃsthānamiṣṭaṃ dṛṣṭaṃ ca /
prativyaktiniyataṃ saṃsthānaṃ kathamanuvṛttapratyayakāraṇamiti cet, kathaṃ vā tajjātīyasya lakṣaṇaṃ bhavati ? /
anuvṛttajātyantarasaṃgṛhītopādhirūpatayeti cet, tāvataiva gavādivyavahārasiddhau kimanyena ? /
tathāpyantatonuvṛttaṃ sāmānyaṃ kvacidabhyupagantavyam, yatrānanyathāsiddhiḥ; anyathopādhisaṃgrahasyāpyasaṃbhavāditi cet, tavāpi vā tatra sāmānyamupalakṣaṇena saṃgṛhyate, na vā ? pūrvatrānyathāsiddhiranavasthitiśca /
uttaratra niyāmakādarśanājjāterāśrayavyavasthā na syāt /
vyāvṛttānāmapi svabhāvata eva kāsāṃcit vyaktīnāṃ tadvyañjakatvaniyatiriti cet, sa eva svabhāvaḥ kiṃ na vyavahāraṃ niyachet /
nirviṣayaḥ kathaṃ vyavahāraḥ syāditi cet, tāsāmeva vyaktīnāṃ viṣayatvāt /
vyāvṛttānāmanuvṛttavyavahāraviṣayatve sarvatra viṣayavyavasthā bhajyeteti cet, vyāvṛttānāmanuvṛttavyañjakatve sarvatra tadvyaktiḥ kiṃ na syāt ? /
saṃbandhāsaṃbandhābhyāṃ niyamāditi cenna, saṃbandhasyāpi samavāyanāmnaḥ sārvatrikatvābhyupagamāt tatrāpyabhivyaktipratiniyamasya mṛgyatvāt, nānāsamavāyavādepi vyaktisvabhāvaniyamasya dustyajatvāt, tathāpi dṛṣṭaikagovyaktervyaktyantare soyamiti pratyabhijñānaṃ kathaṃ syāt ? ayaṃ gaurityekavyaktau vyutpāditaśca kathaṃ vyaktyatyantarepi tacchabdavācyatāṃ pratīyāt ? iti cet, tavāpi vā katham ? /
ekadharmasamavāyāditi cet ? tenaiva dharmeṇa svato militasya samavāyasyaiva nityaṃ sarvatra vṛttyabhyupagamena sarvatra sarvavyavahārasaṃkaraprasaṅgāt /
kāsāṃcideva vyaktīnāṃ tadvyañjakatvasvābhāvyād vyavasthokteti cet, tarhi tāsāmeva vyaktīnāṃ pratisaṃdhānavyavahārayorviṣayatvamastu /
tathā sati bhrāntatvaṃ tayoḥ syāditi cenna, tadvyaktitvena pratisaṃdhānāderabhāvāt ; api tarhi tathātvena vyaktisvarūpātiriktaṃ tathātvaṃ nāmāntareṇa jātireva syāditi cet, tajjātivyañjakaṃ tattadekavyaktisvarūpātiriktaṃ kiṃ na jātyantaraṃ syāt ? /
upādhiviśeṣa evāyaṃ pratiniyatāśraya iti cet, evaṃ tarhi pratiniyatapratiyogikaṃ svabhāvaniyataṃ parasparasmārakatvamupajīvya tajjātīyatayā pratisaṃdhānavyavahāropapattau kimanyakalpanena ? /
tasmārakataditaravibhāgaḥ kutastya iti cet, tadvyañjakataditaravibhāgaste kutastyaḥ ? /
darśanādarśanāyatta iti cet, tulyam /
saṃbandhasādṛśyayorabhāve kathaṃ smārakatvamiti cet, tayorvā katham ? /
sadṛśasahānubhūtadarśanasya saṃskārodbodhakatvāditi cet, tadapi kutaḥ ? /
kāryadarśanāt kalpyate iti cet, tulyam; anyathā saṃbandhaṃ sādṛśyaṃ vaikamupādāya tadanyasya kathaṃ smārakatvamiti codyasya durvāratvāt /
na cātra sādṛśyaṃ nāṅgīkurmaḥ, sausādṛśyarūpatvābhyupagamāt sāmānyasya /
nāmāntareṇa parābhimatajātisvīkāraḥ iti cet, vyāvṛttānāṃ saṃniveśādīnāmeva pratiniyatapratiyogismārakasvabhāvatayā sādṛśyarūpatvāt /
gavayāderapi tarhi gojātīyatvādiprasaṅgaḥ iti cenna, sādṛśyasausādṛśyavibhāgasvaya sāṃpratyayikasya sarvasaṃmatatvāt iti /
evaṃ sāmānyādiṣu sūtrakārādibhirnirasteṣu pariśiṣṭā dravyaguṇakarmarūpāstrayaḥ padārthāḥ iti kecidācāryāḥ //
nyā. pa. prame. 2 anye tu manyante---yathā tatpratīteranyathāsiddhatayā te padārthā bhāṣyakārādibhirnirasyante, tathā karmāpi, iti, ye tāvadiha sarvatra sūryaparispandādivadapratyakṣaṃ karma phalānumeyamicchanti /
tatra yayā sāmagryā karmaṇaḥ siddhirabhimatā tayaiva dṛṣṭaṃ karmaphalaṃ sādhyatām, kimantarā kalpitena karmaṇā ? /
tathāpi cet kḷptiḥ, anyatrāpi kālaviprakarṣādarśanepi sāmagrīkāryayormadhye anyasya kḷptiprasaṅgaḥ; tathaiva ca tratrāpītyanavasthā syāt /
ye ca "pratyakṣaṃ karma" ityāhuḥ, tairapi nūnaṃ karmaphalatvenābhyupagamasaṃyogavibhāgātiriktaṃ nipuṇanirīkṣaṇepi nopalabhyata iti manyāmahe /
calatipratyayopi hi tāvataiva caritārthaḥ /
na ca vācyaṃ yāvatsaṃyogaṃ calatipratyayaprasaṅga iti, pūrvadeśavibhāgapūrvakadeśāntarasaṃyogaprathamakṣaṇaviṣayatvāt tatpratyayasya /
tata eva hyuttarakāle saṃyoge vartamānepyacaladiti bhūtānusaṃdhānamupapannam /
nanu pravāhamadhyasthite sthāṇau pūrvasalilaskandhaviyogaḥ uttarasalilaskandhayogaśca dṛśyate, na ca tatra calatvamicchāmaḥ; vyomādaya eva sthiradeśatvena vivakṣitāḥ iti cenna, pravāhasya tato viśeṣādarśanāt; laulyam viśeṣaḥ iti cet, tarhi saṃyogavibhāgātiriktaṃ laulyarūpaṃ karmapratyakṣamiti kathaṃ tadapahnavaḥ ? iti /
tatrāhuḥ---yā nāma karmasāmagrī tvayeṣyate sā tattatkarmaphalatayābhimataṃ saṃyogaviśeṣamutpādayantī niyatasvabhāvameva tamutpādayati /
ata eva eva saṃyogonekaniṣṭhopi san kvaciccalatipratyaṃyaṃ kvacit saṃyogamātrapratyayaṃ ca janayati, yathaika eva samavāyoguṇaguṇibhyāmaviśeṣeṇa svato militopi san kvacidāśrayapratyayaṃ kvacidāśritapratyayaṃ ca janayati, na hyāśrayabhāva āśritabhāvo vā samavāyasvarūpātiriktaḥ, tadvadihāpīti /
vayaṃ tu brūmaḥ--- apratyakṣakarmavādastāvat prāguktadūṣaṇādayuktaḥ /
pratyakṣaṃ tu karma svarūpato durapahnavam /
tatra bhāṣyādiṣvatirekavidhiniṣedhādarśanādarthāntaravirodhābhāvāccodāsitavyam, iti /
idaṃ tu manyāmahe--- atirekepi guṇavargānna rāśyantaraṃ karma, vibhājakābhāvāt, svecchākalpitavibhājakasya sarvatra sulabhatvena yathābhimatamekaṃ guṇamubhayaṃ vāṅgīkṛtya rāśyantarakalpanaprasaṅgāt, guṇāvāntaravaicitryasya guṇatvavirodhābhāvāt /
ato dravyamadravyamityeva vibhāgaḥ iti //
nyā. pa. prame. 3 tatra cātmaguṇatayābhimateṣu sukhaduḥkhecchādveṣaprayatnāḥ pañca tattadutpādakatayābhimatabuddhiviśeṣānatiriktā vedārthasaṃgrahe samarthitāḥ /
dharmādharmau vihitaniṣiddhakriyāsādhyatayābhimatāvājñāvato rājña iva sarvapraśāsiturīśvarasyānugrahanigrahākhyabuddhiviśeṣarūpau bhāṣyādiṣu bahuṣu pradeśeṣu prapañcitau /
yaḥ punaḥ saṃskāraḥ sa tāvadbuddhiviśeṣātmanoktaḥ, na ca tatprayuktaḥ; tataściranaṣṭaviprakṛṣṭākāre vyāptyadarśanāt, vāsanānuvṛtteśca vācanikatvāt //
nyā. pa. prame. 4 yadyapi "indriyasyendriyasyārthe" ityādigītāślokeṣu bhāṣyakārairvāsanāyā icchādvāreṇaiva pravṛttihetutvavacanājjñānavāsanāviśeṣātiriktā karmavāsanā nāsti, tathāpi jñānavāsanā durapahnavā, tataśca tadāśrayamātraṃ vicāryam, tatra dharmabhūtajñānasya dravyatvaṃnyāyatattvātmasiddhibhāśyādisiddhamanusaratāṃ tanniṣṭhasmṛtyākhyavikārotpādakaḥ saṃskāro 'pi tanniṣṭhaḥ prāptaḥ; antaraṅgatvādabādhācca //

na ca buddhornityatvaṃ saṃkocavikāsādidaśābhedaṃ cābhyupagacchadbhiradravyatvaṃ tasyāḥ suvacam; avasthāntarayogitvameva hyupādanatvam; tadeva hi dravyalakṣaṇam /
tathāpi naguṇatvahāniḥ; apṛthaksiddhaviśeṣaṇatvātiriktaguṇatvāvadarśanāt, karmavyatiriktajātimātrāśrayatvādirūpaguṇalakṣaṇasaṃketasyāsmābhiranādaraṇāt /
na ca dravyasyāśritasvabhāvatvalakṣaṇamapṛthaksiddhaviśeṣaṇatvaṃ viruddham, avayavini yuṣmābhirapi svīkaraṇāt /
yathā ca dravyatvaviśeṣaṇatvādibhirna virodha iṣyate, evamatrāpi, upalaṃmbhayuktyādeḥ sāmanacarcatvāt /
ato jñānaṃ dravyam, tadavasthāviśeṣāstvadravyāṇīti saṃskārākhyavikārāsthitirapi tatraiva yuktā /
vegākhyastu saṃskārastadutpādakatvābhimatakarmaviśaiṣātirikto na dṛśyate, na ca yujyate /
sthitasthāpakau tu karmanivṛttāvapi tadavinābhūtasaṃyogaviśeṣatvaṃ vaktuṃ yuktam //

ṣaṭsu ca guṇeṣu balaṃ dhāraṇasāmarthyam, aiśvaryaṃ niyamanaśaktiḥ; vikārahetuṣvapyavikṛtatvaṃ vīryam; tejaḥ parābhibhavanasāmarthyam, anyānapekṣatā veti /
lakṣitānāṃ caturṇāmatimathane jñānaśaktivitatirūpatvaṃ vyaktam /
na ca jñānaśaktyorapyevaṃ mithontarbhāvaḥ śakyaḥ, ajñeṣvapi dravyeṣu śaktidarśanāt, aśakteṣvapi jñānadarśanāt /
ata eva jñānaviśeṣaḥ śaktirityapi nirastam /
śaktiviśeṣastu jñānaṃ syāditi cet, kosau śaktiśabdārthaḥ ? /
vilakṣaṇo guṇaviśeṣaḥ prabhākarādinayena padārthāntaraṃ vā iti cet, na tarhi jñānasya tadviśeṣatā sidhyet /
atha kāryopayuktaviśeṣaṇamātraṃ śaktiriti sarvaprayogānugataṃ paśyasi, tadā na kevalaṃ jñānasya, api tu sarvasyaiva śaktitvaṃ prāptam, sarvasyāpi pradhānakāraṇatayābhimate kasmiṃścidviśeṣaṇatvenāvasthānāt /
nanvevamudayanādīnāmiva svarūpasahakārivyatiriktaśaktyabhāvaḥ prasaktaḥ iti cet, ananyathāsiddhayuktivaśādāgamabalādvā tatsiddheḥ /
tacchabdastu vivakṣāviśeṣāt syāditi brūmaḥ /
śaktisamarthanasaṃrambhaścācāryāṇāṃ nyāyakuliśe nipuṇamanusaṃdheyaḥ /
śaktimātrakāraṇādivādāśca bāhyānāmupalambhayuktyāptāgamādivirahādanādaraṇīyāḥ /
sā cedupādānaṃ, sūkṣmandravyamevāsau syāditi na vivādaḥ //
nyā. pa. prame. 7 athāciddravyaviśeṣaguṇān paśyāmaḥ--- tatra śabdādayaḥ pañca tattadbhūtavartinaḥ pratyakṣādibalādabhyupagatāḥ /
sattvarajastamāṃsi ca śāstrānusāreṇa /
saṃyogaśca pratyakṣādisiddhaḥ /
nairantaryamātramevāyamiti cet, tat kiṃ dravyasvarūpam, utāganturavasthāviśeṣaḥ ? /
nādyaḥ, nityatvaprasaṅgāt /
na dvitīyaḥ, nāmāntareṇa tadabhidhānāt, iti /
vibhāgapṛthaktve tu abhāvoktanyāyena dūṣaṇīye /
paratvāparatve api sukhādicchāyayā; na hi tattadupādhyavacchinnadeśakālaviśeṣasaṃbandhātirikte paratvāparatve paśyāmaḥ /
tatkalpane ca prāktvapratyaktvādayopi hi bahavo guṇāstulyanyāyāḥ kalpyāḥ syuḥ /
evaṃ sadasadguṇapradarśanaprakriyayā saṃkhyāparimāṇagurutvadravatvasnehānāṃ tattvamavasātavyam, ityadravyeṣveṣā dik //
nyā. pa. prame. 8 atha dravyāṇi vimṛśyante--- tatra tāvat kaumārilābhimatavibhuśabdākhyadravyavādaḥ śabdasyācidavasthāviśeṣatvena śrutyādisiddhatvānnirākāryaḥ /
ātmasiddhau tu śabdasya dharmyativartitvagatimattvavādastadāśrayabhūtāvayavadvāreṇeti netavyaḥ /
yattu--- "tamaḥ khalu calaṃ nīlaṃ parāparavibhāgavat /
prasiddhadravyavaidharmyānnavabhyo bhettumarhati" //
ityāhuḥ, tadetad dravyaṃ tāvadabhyupagacchāmaḥ; tathā hyuktaṃ varadagurubhistattvasāre--- "tamo nāma dravyaṃ bahulaviralaṃ mecakacalaṃ pratīmaḥ kenāpi kvacidapi na bādhaśca dadṛśe /
ataḥ kalpyo hetuḥ pramitirapi śābdī vijayate nirālokaṃ cakṣuḥ prathayati hi tad darśanavaśāt" //
iti /
etena viyati vitatānāṃ sūkṣmāṇāṃ pṛthivyavayavānāṃ kṛṣṇo guṇastama iti pakṣopi pratikṣiptaḥ; sāśrayasyaiva tasya grahaṇavirodhābhāvāt, guṇamātratayā ca kasyāpyanupalambhāt /
sparśarūparasānāṃ ca śabdagandhavad bhrāntau pramitau vā nirādhāragrahaṇādarśanācca--iti /
evaṃ dravyatve siddhe kṛṣṇavarṇasya dravyasya pṛthivītvamevābhyupagantumucitam, "yat kṛṣṇaṃ tadannasya" iti śruteḥ /
yadyapi pṛthivyāṃ pākaviśeṣavaśāt śuklādirūpaṃ, nānyatra pākādapi bhavati; ākāśādiṣu nailyopalambhopi hi pañcīkaraṇamūlapṛthivīsaṃsargāt /
"ākāśe cāviśeṣāt"iti sūtre bhāṣitam--- "aṇḍāntarvartinaścākāśasya trivṛtkaraṇopadeśapradarśintapañcīkaraṇena rūpavatvāccākṣuṣatvepyavirodhaḥ" iti /
nanvevamākāśameva dravyāntarasaṃsargānnīlaṃ tama ityupalabhyate iti syāditi cet, na syāt, ākāśe tama iti pṛthagupalambhasvārasyāt, dravnayāntaratve tu kalpanāgauravāt, antatotrāpi pañcīkaraṇena dravyāntarasaṃsargasyābhyupagatatvācca iti /
sparśānupalambhastu indranīlālokadurdinātapāderivānudbhavāderapi /
syāt /
na ca pārthivarūpasya sarvasyālokasāpekṣacakṣurgrāhyatvaniyamaḥ kalpyaḥ, karaṇavaicitryādiva viṣayavaicitryādapi vyavasthopapatteḥ /
divābhītānāṃ viśiṣṭāñjanarañjitākṣāṇāṃ cālokanirapekṣameva cakṣuṣaiva padārthā gṛhyante /
ālokābhāvamātre ca tamasi tamojyotiṣornivṛttivacanaṃ cavyāhanyeta, pratiniyatanailyāropakalpanāprayāsaśca /
ataḥ pṛthivīviśeṣatvaṃ tamaso yuktam /
pṛthivyādīni pañca bhūtāni manaśca triguṇadravyapariṇativiśeṣatayā śrutyādisiddhatvānna pṛthagdravyāṇi /
tatra cāvayavyākhyaṃ bhautikadravyam "tadananyatvamārambhaṇaśabdādibhyaḥ" ityādibhiḥ ṣaḍbhiḥ sūtrairbuddhiśabdāntarāderanyathāsiddhyādyupapādanena nirastam /
"mahaddīrghavadvā hvasvaparimaṇḍalābhyām" ityādibhiśca parāmabhimataḥ paramāṇuḥ /
ataḥ pariṇāmaviśeṣādupalambhayogyatvāyogyatvādidaśāviśeṣayogi prakṛtyādisaṃjñaṃ dravyaṃ vicitravyavasthitakramasamaṣṭivyaṣṭirūpamavatiṣṭhate /
diktattvamapi tattadupādhyavacchinnāstattaddeśaviśeṣā eva, atiriktakalpakānāṃ parāparapratyayaviśeṣādīnāmanyathāsiddheḥ /
digutpattiśrutiśca tadupādhikatannirvāhakasṛṣṭyopapannā; anyathā dyupṛthivyantarikṣādivat triguṇapariṇativiśeṣataiva syāt, na pṛthagdravyatā /
na caivaṃ kālepi prasaṅgaḥ, nityasya kālasya bhagavatparāśarādibhiḥ pṛthakprasaṃkhyānāt /
tasya prakṛtipariṇativiśeṣatvādipakṣāstatpūrvāparakālāvaśyaṃbhāvāt śrutyādibalācca pratyastāḥ /
atastriguṇakālāvātmāceti trīṇi siddhānir /
iśvarasya tu pṛthaksaṃkhyāne catvāri /
tasya hi cetanatvādibhiḥ saṃgrahasaṃbhavepyavāntaravailakṣaṇyajñāpanāya pṛthaksaṃkhyānaṃ prācāmanādivācāṃ ca, anyathā prakriyāntareṇācetaneṣvapi saṃgrahaprasaṃgāt /
viviktaṃ ca bhagavatā parāśareṇa--- "paramātmātmanoryogaḥ paramārtha itīṣyate /
mithyaitadanyadravyaṃ hi naiti taddravyatāṃ yataḥ" //
iti /
evaṃ dharmabhūtajñānākhyamapi dravyamajaḍatvāviśeṣepi spuṭataravaidharmyānatarabalāt pṛthaggaṇayanti /
tasyādravyatvavādaḥ keṣāñcinnāthamuniyāmunamunibhāṣyakārādiprabandhavirodhāt prāyaḥ paracittarañjanārthaḥ /
śuddhasattvākhyasya ca dravyāntarasya paravigrahādiyāthārthyopadeśapravṛttaniruktādyāptāgamasiddhatvāt sūkṣmatriguṇāvasthāviśeṣādipakṣā bahiṣkāryāḥ /
ataḥ ṣaḍetāni dravyāṇi /
bhoktṛbhogyaniyantṝṇāṃ sadātmanaikadravyatvādipakṣā api nirviśeṣasanmātrapakṣavad vyāghātaśrutivirodhādibhirbahuśo bhāṣyādiṣu nirastāḥ /
tatra triguṇaśuddhasattve svaniruktyaiva lakṣye /
kṣaṇalavādyātmā kālaḥ /
aṇurjñātā jīvaḥ /
vibhustvīśvaraḥ /
jānātivyavahārāsādhāraṇakāraṇaṃ vyavahāryaviśeṣo matiḥ /
evaṃ triguṇakālajīveśvaraśuddhasattvamatirūpeṇa ṣoḍhā dravyavibhāgaḥ /
evaṃ pramāṇasārthaghaṇṭāpathena dravyādravyarūpaprameyagrāmamadhijigamiṣatāṃ na kudṛṣṭibāhyakalpitakūṭayuktigartanipātaḥ, iti //
iti śrīkavitārkikasiṃhasya sarvatantrasvatantrasya śrīmadveṅkaṭanāthasya vedāntācāryasya kṛtiṣu nyāyapariśuddhau prameyādhyāye prathamamāhnikam //
