na hi yadākāraṃ jñānam, tatpūrvakatvaṃ tasyeti niyamaḥ; anāgatajñāne vibhrame ca vyabhicārāt /

mā bhūt pūrvānubhavasiddhiḥ; kiṃ naśchinnamiti cet- na tarhi smṛtyanubhavayoḥ kāryakāraṇabhāvasiddhiriti /
na, tadaprāmāṇye 'pi pūrvāparāvasthāvadātmapratyabhijñānaprāmāṇyādeva tadupapatteḥ /
yo 'hamanvabhavamamumartham, so 'haṃ smarāmīti mānasapratyakṣamastīti /

saiva kathaṃ niyatādhikaraṇe (ṇa) utpadyatāmiti cenna- jñānābhyupagame 'pi tulyatvāt /
svahetoḥ kutaściditi cet- tata evecchāstu, kiṃ jñānakalpanayeti /
syādetat- prakāśamāne khalvarthe tadupāditsādirupajāyate; na tu suṣuptyavasthāyāmaprakāśamāne 'pyarthe ityanubhavasiddham /
tata icchāyāḥ kāraṇaṃ vilakṣaṇameva kiñcit parikalpanīyam, yasmin sati susvāpalakṣaṇamaudasīnyamarthaviṣayamātmano nivartate iti cet- hantaivaṃ susvāpanivṛttimanubhavaniddhāṃ pratijānānena jñānamevāparokṣyamiṣyante /
acetayanneva hi suṣupta ityucyate; acaitanyanivṛttireva hi caitanyaṃ jñānamiti /

grāhakakāle grāhyasyātītatvena vartamānābhatvānupapatteḥ /

jñānasyeti sāmpratam- tayorviśeṣaṇāṃśasya prāggrahaṇādanumānādivattadupapatteḥ; prakṛte tu jñānatvāderanupalabdheragṛhītaviśeṣaṇāyāśca buddherviśeṣyānupasaṅkramātkathamevaṃ syāt? na; utpannamātrasyaiva bāhyaviṣayajñānasyālocanāt /
tatastatpuraḥsaraṃ prathamata eva tajjātīyasya jñānāntarasya vikalpanāt /
indriyasannikarṣasya tadaiva viśeṣaṇagrahaṇalakṣaṇasahakārisampatteḥ /
vyaktyantarasamavetamapi hi sāmānyaṃ gṛhītaṃ tadevetyupayujyate (224) /
anyathānumānādivikalpānāmanutpādaprasaṅgaḥ; tadgatasya viśeṣaṇasyāgrahaṇādanyagatasya cānupayogātkiṃ liṅgagrahaṇasahakāri syāditi /

iyāṃstu viśeṣaḥ- tasmin sati tadbalādeva; asati tu tajjanitavāsanābalāt /
na caivaṃ sati smaraṇametat; agṛhītajñānagocaratvāt /
na ca viṣayāṃśe tattathā syāditi yuktam- avacchedakatayā prāgavasthāvadavabhāsanāt /
na ca pratyabhijñānamapi grahaṇasmaraṇākāram; virodhāt /
atha grahaṇasmaraṇayoḥ kiyatī sāmagrī? adhikor'thasannikarṣo grahaṇasya, saṃskāramātraṃ sannikarṣaḥ smaraṇasya /

atha kaḥsannikarṣaḥ? jñānena saṃyuktasamavāyaḥ, tadarthena saṃyuktasamavetaviśeṣaṇatvamiti /
manaso nirapekṣasya bahirvyāpāre 'ndhabadhirādyabhāvaprasaṅga iti cet- jñānāvacchedakaṃ prati nāyaṃ doṣaḥ /
na ca jñānāpekṣayā bahirityasti /
nāpi tadviṣayāpekṣayā nirapekṣatvam, tasyaiva jñānasyāpekṣaṇāt /
[ku.4.526] athāpi jñānaṃ pratyakṣamityatra kiṃ pramāṇam? pratyakṣameva /
yadasūtrayat- "jñānavikalpānāṃ bhāvābhāvasaṃvedanādadhyātmam" (nyāya.5-1-31) iti /
[ku.4.527] nanu neśvarajñānaṃ pramā, nityatvenāphalatvāt /
nāpi pramāṇam, akārakatvāt /
ata eva ca na tadaśrayaḥ pramāteti- ucyate- mitiḥ samyak paricchittistadvattā ca pramātṛtā /
tadayogavyavacchedaḥ pramāṇyaṃ gautame mate //5 //
samīcīn.o hyanubhavaḥ prameti vyavastathitam /
tathāca anityatvena viśeṣaṇamanarthakam, nityānubhavasiddhau tadvyavacchedabhyāniṣṭatvāt; asiddhau ca vyavacchedyābhāvāt /
na cedamanumānam, āśrayāsiddhibādhayoranyatarākrāntatvāt /
na tat pramākaraṇamiti tviṣyata eva,pramayā sambandhābhāvāt /
tadāśrayasya tu pramātṛtvametadeva yat tatsamavāyaḥ /
kārakatve satīti tu viśeṣaṇaṃ pūrvavannirarthakamanusandheyam /
yadyevam, "āptaprāmāṇyād" (nyāya.2-2-37) iti sūtravirodhaḥ /
tena hīśvarasya prāmāṇyaṃ pratipādyate, na tu pramātṛtvamiti cet- na- nimittasamāveśena vyavahārasamāveśāvirodhāt /
pramāsamavāyo hi pramātṛvyavahāranimittam; pramayā tvayāyogavyavacchedena sambandhaḥ pramāṇavyavahāranimittam /
tadubhayañceśvare /
atrāpi kāryayeti viśeṣaṇaṃ pūrvavadanarthakamūhanīyam /
[ku.4.528] syādetat- pramīyate 'neneti pramāṇam, pramiṇotīti pramātā iti kārakaśabdatvamanayoḥ /
tathāca kathamakārakamartha iti cet- na- etasya vyutpattimātranimittatvāt /
pravṛttinimittaṃ tu yathopadarśitameva; vyavasthāpanāt /
anyathā asmadādiṣu na pramātṛvyavahāraḥ syāt; sarvatra svātantryābhāvāt /
karaṇavyavahārastvanyatra yadyapyanyanimittako 'pi, tathāpīhoktanimittavivakṣayaiveti /
evantarhi pañcamapramāṇābhyupagame 'pasiddhāntaḥ /
na hi tat pratyakṣamanumānamāgamo vā, anindriyaliṅgaśabdakaraṇatvāt- na- sākṣātkāripramāvattayā pratyakṣāntarbhāvāt; indriyārthasannikarṣotpannatvasya ca laukikamātraviṣayatvāt /
[ku.4.529] syādetat- tathāpīśvarajñānaṃ na pramā, viparyayatvāt /
yadā khalvetadasmadādivibhramānālambate, tadaitasya viṣayamaspṛśato na jñānāvagāhanasambhava iti tadartho 'pyālambanamabhyupeyam /
tathāca tadapi viparyayaḥ, viparītārthālambanatvāt /
tadanavagāhane vā asmadādervibhramān aviduṣastadupaśamāyopadeśānāmasarvajñapūrvakatvamiti na- vibhramasyāprāmāṇye 'pi tadviṣayasya tattvamullikhato 'bhrāntatvāt /
anyathā bhrāntisamucchedaprasaṅgaḥ; pramāṇābhāvāt /
tathāpyāropitārthavacchinnajñānālambanatvena kathaṃ na bhrāntatvamiti cet- na- yad yatra nāsti tatra tasyāvagatiriti bhrāntyarthatvāt /
etadālambanasta caivamullakhataḥ sarvatra yathārthatvāt /
nahi na tadrajatam, nāpi tatrāsat, nāpi tannāvagatamiti /
[ku.4.530] sākṣāt(226)kāriṇi nityayogini paradvārānapekṣasthitau /
bhūtārthānubhave niviṣṭanikhilaprastā(227)rivastukramaḥ //
