bhedaśca viruddhadharmādhyāsalakṣaṇo ghaṭapaṭādivat pratyakṣasiddhaḥ /
na ca sāmānādhikaraṇyādabhedo 'pi /
taddhi samānaśabdavācyatvam, ekajñānagocaratvam, ekādhikaraṇatvam, ādhārādheyabhāvaḥ, viśeṣyatvam, sambandhamātraṃ vā bhede eva bhede 'pi cacopapadyamānam, nābhedaṃ spṛśatīti sarvamavadātam /

nityavibhubhoktṛsadbhāve sarvametadevaṃ syāt /
sa eva kutaḥ? bhūtānāmeva

na copādānopādeyabhāvaniyamo gatiḥ; sthirapakṣe paramāṇūnāṃ tadabhāvāt /
khaṇḍāvayavinaṃ prati ca vicchinnānāmanupādānatvāt /
pūrvasiddhasya cāvayavino vināśāt /
[ku.1.160] astu tarhi kṣaṇabhaṅgaḥ /
na cātiśayo (60) vyatiricyate; kiṃ tu sādṛśyatiraskṛtatvāt drāgeva na vikalpyate /
kāryadarśanādadhyavasīyate antyātiśayavat /
tathā ca bhūtānyeva tathā tathotpadyante, yathā yathā pratisandhānaniyamādayo 'pyupapadyante /
kṣaṇikatvasiddhāvevametat /
tadeva tvanyatra vistareṇa pratiṣiddham /
api ca-[ku.1.161] na vaijātyaṃ vinā tatsyānna tasminnanumā bhavet /
vinā tena na tatsiddhirnādhyakṣaṃ niścayaṃ vinā //16 //

tatastāvanādṛtya vaijātyamaprāmāṇikamevābhyupeya(gantavya)m /
[ku.1.162] evaṃ ca, "kāraṇavat kārye 'pi kiñcidvaijātyaṃ syāt yasya kāraṇāpekṣā, na tu dṛṣṭajātīyasya" iti śaṅkayā na tadutpattisiddhiḥ /
dṛṣṭajātīyamākasmikaṃ syāditi cenna- tatrāpi kiñcidanyadeva prayojakaṃ bhaviṣyatītyaviredhāt /
"na kāryasya viśeṣastatprayuktatayopalabhyate; nāpi kāryasāmānyasyānyaprayojakaṃ dṛśyate" iti cet- tat kiṃ kāraṇasya viśeṣaḥ svagatastatprayojakatayopalabdhaḥ, kāraṇasāmānyasya vānyatprayojyāntaraṃ dṛśyate; yato vivakṣitasiddhiḥ syāt /
śaṅkā tūbhayatrāpi sulabheti /
kāryajanmājanmabhyāmunnīyata iti cenna- sahakārilābhālābhābhyāmevopapatteḥ /
unnīyatāṃ vā; kāryeṣu śaṅkiṣyate; niṣedhakābhāvāt /
na hi dhūmasya viśeṣaṃ dahanaprayojyaṃ pratiṣeddhuṃ svabhāvānupalabdhiḥ prabhavati /
kāryaikaniśceyasya tadanupalabdherevāniścayopapatteḥ /
kāryasya cātīndriyasyāpi sambhavāt; ata evānupalabdhyantaramapi niravakāśamiti /
[ku.1.163] evaṃ vidhirūpayorvyāvṛttirūpayorvā jātyorvirodhe sati na samāveśaḥ /

(63)tatkāryayoḥ parasparaparihṛtisvabhāvatvāditi cettarhi kampaśiṃśapayoḥ parasparaparihāravatyorna samāveśaḥ syāt /
dṛśyate tāvadidamiti cet- gotvāśvatvayorapi na dṛkṣyata iti kā pratyāśā? tathā ca gatamanupalabdhiliṅgenāpi, kvacidapi virodhāsiddheḥ /

sa kathaṃ tamatipatyātmānamāsādayediti- cet- evaṃ tarhi śiṃśapāsāmagryantarbhūtā calanasāmagrī /
tatastāmatipatya calanādirūpatā bhavantī svakāraṇamevātipatet /
tathā śākhādimadviśeṣānubandhī śiṃśapāvyavahāraḥ, tadviśeṣānubandhī ca calanavyavahāraḥ /
sa kathaṃ tamatipatyātmānamāsādayediti tulyam /
[ku.1.165] nodanādyāgantukanibandhanaṃ calanatvam, na tu tadviśeṣamātrādhīnamiti cet- yadi nodanādayaḥ svabhāvabhūtāḥ; tatastadviśeṣā eva /

atha dharmaḥ "tadbhedaniścaye 'pi dharmiṇaḥ kimāyātam? tasya tato 'nyatvāt /
vartamānāvartamānatvamekasya viruddhamiti cet- yadi sadasattvaṃ tat" tanna; anabhyupagamāt /
tādrūpyeṇaiva pratyabhijñānāt /
sadasatsambandhaścet- kimasaṅgatam? jñānavattadupapatteḥ /
krameṇānekasambhandha ekasyānupapanna iti cet- astitāvadato nirūpaṇīyam kṣaṇapratyayastu bhrānto 'pi nāstīti viśeṣaḥ /

etenāprāmāṇikastadvyavahāra iti nirastam; sarvathā prāmāṇyāsiddhau tasyāpyasiddheḥ? [ku.1.173] prakṛte prāmāṇyasandehaḥ, lūnapunarjātakeśādau vyabhicāradarśanāditi cet- na ekatvaniścayasya tvayāpīṣṭatvāt /
aniṣṭau vā na kiñcitsiddhyet /
siddhyatu, yatra viruddhadharmaviraha iti cet- tenaiva sthiratvamapi niścīyate /
sa iha sandihyata iti cet- tulyametat /
kvacinniścayo 'pi kathañciditi cet- samaḥ samādhiḥ /
[ku.1.174] nanvetat kāraṇatvaṃ yadi svabhāvo bhāvasya, nīlādivat, tadā sarvasādhāraṇaṃ syāt /
na hi nīlaṃ (69) kañcitpratyanīlam /
athaupādhikam; tadopādherapi svābhāvikatve tathātvaprasaṅgaḥ /
aupādhikatve tvanavasthā /
athāsādhāraṇatvamapyasya svabhāva eva; tata utpatterārabhya kuryāt; sthirasyaikasvabhāvatvāditi cet- ucyate-[ku.1.175] hetuśaktimanādṛtya nīlādyapi na vastusat /
tadyuktaṃ tatra tat śaktamiti sādhāraṇaṃ na kim //18 //
sarvasādhāraṇanīlādivaidharmyeṇ.a kālpanikatvaṃ kāryakāraṇabhāvasya vyutpādayatā nīlādi pāramārthikamevābhyupagantavyam, anyathā tadvaidharmyaiṇa hetuphalabhāvasyāpāramārthikatvānupapatteḥ /
na ca kāryakāraṇabhāvasyāpāramārthikatve nīlādi pāramārthikaṃ bhavitumarhati, nityatvaprasaṅgāt /
tasmādasya pāramārthikatve 'paramapi tathā, navobhayamapīti /
[ku.1.176] ṭhakathamekamanekaṃ parasparaviruddhaṃ kāryaṃ kuryāt /
tatsvabhāvatvāditi yadi, tadotpatterārabhya kuryādaviśeṣāt" ityapi na yuktam; tattatsahakārisācivye tattatkāryaṃ karotīti svabhāvavyavasthāpanāt (svabhāvavyavahārasthāpanāt) /

anyathā kāryāt kāraṇānumānaṃ kvāpi na syāt; tena tasyānuvidhānānupalambhāt upalambhe vā kāryaliṅgānavakāśāt /
pratyakṣata eva tatsiddheḥ /
tajjātīyānuvidhānadarśanātsiddhiranyatrāpi na vāryate /
[ku.1.179] tathāpi koṣṭhagatyānuvihitānvayavyatirekameva kāryāt kāraṇaṃ siddhyet; anyatra tathā darśanāditi cenna- bādhena saṅkocāt; vipakṣe bādhakābhāvena cāvyāpteḥ /
darśanamātreṇa cotkarṣasamatvāt /
asya ceśvare vistaro vakṣyate /
sarvavyāpakānāṃ sarvān pratyanvayamātraviśeṣe kāraṇatvaprasaṅgo bādhakamiti cenna- anvayavyatirekavajjātīyatayā vipakṣe bādhakena ca viśeṣe 'natiprasaṅgāt /
tathā hi- kāryaṃ samavāyikāraṇavad dṛṣṭamityadṛṣṭāśrayamapi tajjātīyakāraṇakam- āśrayābhāve kiṃ pratyāsannam asamavāyikāraṇaṃ syāt /
tadabhāve nimittamapi kimupakuryāt /
tathā cānutpattiḥ satatotpattirvā sarvatrotpattirvā syāt evamapi nimittasya sāmarthyādeva niyatadeśotpāde sa eva deśo 'vaśyāpekṣaṇīyaḥ syāt /
tathā ca sāmānyato deśasiddhau itarapṛthivyādibādhe tadatiriktasiddhiṃ ko vārayet /
evamasamavāyinimitte cohanīye /
[ku.1.180] ityeṣā sahakāriśaktirasamā māyā durunnītitaḥ mūlatvātprakṛtiḥ prabodhabhayato 'vidyeti yasyoditā /
devo 'sau virataprapañcaracanākallolakolāhalaḥ sākṣātsākṣitayā manasyabhiratiṃ badhnātu śānto mama //20 //
