tataśca ṛkśabdasya vedaparatvāt ṛgvedena yatkarma kriyate taduccairiti vihite uccaistvasya sākṣātkarmaṇi niveśāsaṃbhavena tadvedavihitakarmāṅgabhūtamantradvārā niveśāt tadvedavihitakarmāṅgamantramātrasya uccaiṣṭvamityarthāt yājurvaidikakarmāṅgabhūtādhvaryupaṭhyamānarkṣu noccaiṣṭvam, apitu upāṃśutvamevetyarthaparyavasānamityerthaḥ /
mātraśabdo 'vadhāraṇārthe /
tatra vidheyāyā uccaiṣṭvabhāvanāyāḥ sannihitānanyapare uddeśyapratipādake saṃbhavati na tāvadarthavādagataṃ vedapadamuddeśyaparaṃ vaktuṃ śakyam /
atha tatpratipādakatvāsaṃbhave 'pi tasya tātparyagrāhakatvāṅgīkārādṛgādipadameva lakṣaṇayā tatparamityucyeta, tathāpi śrautārthasyaiva
ṛgādyekatvoddeśyaghaṭakatvopapatternānvayānupapattestadbījatvam /
yadyapivā ṛgādipadavedapadayoḥ parasparaviruddhārthakatvāt arthavādagatavedapadasamabhivyāhārānupapattirbījatvena saṃbhavati tathāpi vedapada eva sā yuktetyabhipretya pūrvapakṣamāha -------- upakramastheti

"ya iṣṭye" ti vākyena dīkṣaṇīyādīṣṭisomapradhānayāgayorvihitasya parvakālasya ekādidīkṣāpakṣe virodhe sati dīkṣaṇīyāderaṅgabhūtatvena tadīyakālaṃ bādhitvā mukhyasomayāgakālānugraha evā "ṅgaguṇavirodhe ca tādarthyā"diti pūrvādhikaraṇanyāyāpavādatayā vakṣyate, tadvadihāpi mukhyatve 'pi pradhānabhūtavidhigatapadānugraha eva yukta ityarthaḥ //
vastutastu --------- vedatvasya paryāptatvena vyāpyadharmāvacchinnasaṃbandhino 'pi vidheyasya vyāpakadharmavat saṃbandhitvena stutyupapatterna lakṣaṇā /
nahi vedatvaṃ mantrabrāhmaṇātmake granthe paryāptam; tathātve dvitrivākyādhyetari śūdre vedādhyayananiṣedhaprayuktadoṣānāpatteḥ /

tathāpyavayavasaṃbandhino 'pi vidheyasya paraṃparayā avayavisaṃbandhasyāpi sattvādapāṃ stutyā vetasāvakāstuterivehāpi vedapadena stutyupapatternaiva virodhaḥ /
yena tadanupapattyā ṛgādipade lakṣaṇāvaśyiketyabhipretyāha -------- vastutastviti //
tataśca ṛṅmantrasādhyakāryoddeśenoccaiṣṭvādividhānam; lakṣaṇāyāṃ pramāṇābhāvādityarthaḥ /
vedaśabdastāvadarthavādasthito 'pi
prathamopasthitatvāt svārthasya stutiviṣayatvaṃ bodhayannavidheyasya stutyayogāt vidheyatvena pratibhāsamāno 'pi uccaiṣṭvādividheyāntarasattvena tadanākṣipan pariśeṣāduddeśyatāghaṭakatāṃ bodhayati /
ataśca vedapadārthasyoddeśyaghaṭakatve 'saṃjātavirodhitvena niścite taduddeśenaivāgre vidheyaniścayāt paścādupanipatadṛgādipadaṃ na svārthasyoddeśyatāghaṭakatvabodhanāyālamiti jaghanyatvāt sañjātavirodhitvādanuvādarūpatvādyo hotā so 'dhvaryurityatrādhvaryupadamiva lakṣaṇāṃ bhajate /
ataeva -------- vidheruddeśyāpekṣāyāṃ prathamopasthitārthavādonnītavedarūpoddeśyalābhe 'pi tasya stutiviṣayatvenānvitasyoddeśyaghaṭakatvenānvayāyogādu- pasthāpakapadāntarāpekṣāyāṃ samabhivyāhārādupasthitaṛgādipadānāmeva lakṣaṇayā tadupasthāpakatve na ko 'pi virodhaḥ /
ataścāpekṣākrameṇargādipadānāṃ pramāṇāntaropasthitoddeśyatāghaṭakatvasyāpramāpaṇāttadviṣaye 'nutpattilakṣaṇo bādha evopakramagatavedapadānurodhenāvagamyate /
ataeva ayamaprāptabādhatvena vyavahṛtaḥ /
ataeva vidheḥ pradhānabhūtasya vedapadārthoddeśyatāghaṭakatve 'pi avirodhāt viruddhargādipadānāṃ vidhyantarbhāvānnāṅgaguṇanyāyāvatāraḥ /
ataeva yatra some prādhānyasya dīkṣaṇīyādiṣvaṅgatvasya ca mānāntarasiddhatvāt pūrvottarapadagatabalābalānapekṣā tatraiva saḥ //
yattu ----- ya iṣṭyetivākye iṣṭipadasyopakramagatatvaṃ somapadasyopasaṃhāragatatvaṃ ca tatrottarasyāpi pūrvāvirodhena kāryāntaraparatvāsaṃbhavāt parasyāpi śakyārthaparatvāt tasya ca prādhānyāt bhavatyevopakramanyāyabādhako 'ṅgaguṇavirodhanyāya iti prakṛte tannyāyāpravṛtteḥṛgādipadaṃ tatprāyavede lākṣaṇikamityabhipretya siddhāntamāha ------- upakrama iti //

yadyapi vedamātralakṣaṇayāpyānarthakyatadaṅganyāyena mantropasthitisaṃbhave na tadantalakṣaṇāyāṃ prayojanam; tathāpi lakṣaṇāvaśyakatve kimiti nyāyakṛtā vilambopasthitiḥ soḍhavyetyabhiprāyeṇa tadantalakṣaṇoktiḥ /
atra caikavākyatve upakramanyāyasya prābalyam /
yatra tu ya iṣṭyetyādau yajeta so 'omāvāsyāyāmityāditantrapadānāṃ pratyekamanuṣaṅgeṇa vākyatrayābhyupagamāt bhinnavākyatvaṃ tatra parasparanairapekṣyeṇāvagatitrayasyātmalābhādyuktamiṣṭikālabādhakatvamiti yat bhinnavākyatvābhyupagamenāṅga- guṇavirodhanyāyaviṣayopapādanaṃ prakāśakārāṇāṃ, taddūṣaṇaṃ kaustubhe draṣṭavyam //

yatra hi parasya sāmagrīsattvena svaviṣayapramājanakatvamapratibaddham, tatra tasyārthāntare pūrvasāpekṣatve 'pi svaviṣayapramotpatteḥ pratibandhādutpannena pareṇa svāvirodhiviṣayaparatvamupakalpya svavirodhiviṣaye mithyātvabodhanādyuktastatra pūrvabādhaḥ /

"agneḥ ṛgveda" ityādinā vedānāmṛgādisaṃbandhasya kīrtitayā nātyantaparityaktopakramārthatvācca "ṛgbhiḥ pūrvāhṇe divi devar iyate /
yajurvede tiṣṭhati madhye ahnaḥ /
sāmavedenāstamaye mahīyate /
vedairaśūnyaḥ tribhireti sūryaḥ /
" ityādau vedaśabdāt vedairitibahuvacanācca ṛgādiśabdānāṃ vede lakṣaṇāyā dṛṣṭatvācca
"ṛcaḥ sāmāni yajūṃṣi" iti prakṛtya "saiṣā trayyeva vidye"ti nirdiṣṭasya śabdasya traividyo 'yaṃ brāhmaṇa iti vedatrayābhijñanirdeśe vedaparatayā lokānāṃ prayogeṇa ṛgādiśabdānāṃ vede lakṣaṇāyā lokasaṃmatatvācca upakramagatā vedā upasaṃhāragataiḥ prāyaścittavākye madhyagatairvā ṛgādiśabdaiḥ śakyante 'nuvaditum /

yetu -------- asminnadhikaraṇe upasaṃhāraprābalyamicchantaḥ upakramaprābalyānaṅgīkāreṇātratyena "dharmopadeśācca nahi dravyeṇa saṃbandha" iti guṇasūtreṇa darśitāmuccaiḥ sāmneti vākyavaiyarthyānupapattimeva mukhyahetutvenāṅgīkṛtya siddhāntamupapādayanti, te mīmāṃsakamūrdhanyairevopakramaparākramavāde śikṣitāḥ tatraiva1 draṣṭavyāḥ //

yatrāpi nānāvedasthatvaṃ tatrāpi prayogavidheḥ pradhānāṃśe anyavedīyatvenānyasvarāpādakatvādaṅgāṃśe ca vedāntarīyatvenotpattiviniyogavidhyanukūlasvarasyaivāpādānānna vicāraḥ //
naca -------- aṅgasya prayogavidhivedanibandhanasvarāntarāviṣayatve 'pi svarasya kālādivatprayogānvayitvāt tasya cāṅgapradhānasādhāraṇatvāt pradhānānvayisvarasyaiva vedāntarīyāṅgeṣu niveśopapattervedāntarīyaviniyogavidhinibandhanasvarasya bādhopapattiḥ -------- iti -------- vācyam; pradhānavidhinibandhanasvarasya pradhānoddeśenaiva vihitasyāṅgeṣu kalpyatvena tena kḷptotpattiviniyogavidhinibandhanasvarasya bādhānupapatteḥ /
anyathā jyotiṣṭome samākhyāprāptādhvaryurūpakartuḥ prayogānvayitvenāṅgapradhānasādhāraṇyāt hautrastotrādāvapi tadaṅge adhvaryukartṛtvāpattyā hotrādikartṛkatvabādhāpattiḥ /
ato yathātrādhvaryukartṛtvasya kalpyatvāttaddhautrādisamākhyāprāpitakḷptahotrādikartṛtvena bādhaḥ tadvadihāpi kalpyatvātpradhānasvarasya bādha eva /
ataeva kḷptakalpyatvābhyāmeva śyene udgātṛmātrakartṛkatvabādhena nānākartṛtvasiddhirvakṣyate //

yatra kaṇṭhasthāne śabdaprayoga upalabhyate sa krauñcakruṣṭasvarayoḥ madhyatanatvāt madhyamaḥ svaraḥ /
dūrasthasya śravaṇayogyaḥ krauñcaḥ /
sannikṛṣṭaśravaṇayogyaḥ kruṣṭo jñeyaḥ /
yatra śiraḥsthāne śabdaprayoga upalabhyate, sa tārakruṣṭāparaparyāya uttamaḥ svara ityādisvaralakṣaṇāni taittirīyaprātiśākhyādyājñikagranthebhyaścāvadheyāni //

liṅgavākyayostu 'syonaṃ te' iti sadanakaraṇaprakāśakasya pūrvārdhasya 'tasminsīde'tyuttarārdhena sādanaprakāśakena tasminkasminniti vibhāge sākāṅkṣeṇaikavākyatvātsakalasya mantrasya sadanasādanayoranyataratrobhayatra vā pratiṣṭhāpana eva vāsya tasminniti padasannidhirūpeṇa vākyena viniyoge prāripsite tataḥ pūrvapravṛttena liṅgena tattadākhyātasya mukhyaviśeṣyatvena svārthabodhakasya paropasarjanakatvakalpane pramāṇābhāvāttacchabdasya ca sā vaiśvadevītivadvākyāntaropasthitārthaparāmarśakatvenāpi caritārthatvātpratyekameva viniyoga iti /

vākyayorvirodhe upāṃśutvasya "tsarā vā eṣā yajñasye"ti vyavetayajñapadaikavākyatvādyajñabhāgadharmatvaṃ, tasmādyatkiñcitprācīnamagnīṣomīyāttenopāṃśu carantītyanena sannihitayatkiñcitpadaikavākyatayāvagatapadārtha- dharmatvena bādhyate /
vākyaprakaraṇayorvirodhe ca vaimṛdhasya vākyāvagatena paurṇamāsyaṅgatvena prakaraṇāvagatadarśāṅgatvabādhaḥ /
yattu agnīṣomādipadaikavākyatāpannānāṃ idaṃ havirityādipadānāmamāvāsyāṅgadevatāprakāśanārthatvaṃ prākaraṇikaṃ vākyena bādhyata ityudāharaṇamuktaṃ mūle, tacchrutiliṅgaviniyuktasya siddharūpatvena prakaraṇāviṣayasya ca sūktavākasya mukhyaprakaraṇaviniyojyatvaprasaktyabhāve 'pi adhikārākhyagauṇaprakaraṇasyāpūrvasādhanatvalakṣaṇātātparyagrāhakasya prasaktatvāttadbādhābhiprāyeṇa draṣṭavyam /
prakaraṇayorvirodhe mahāprakaraṇamavāntaraprakaraṇena /
prakaraṇakramayorvirodhe akṣairdīvyatītyādivihitavidevanādīnāṃ sannidhānādabhiṣecanīyākhyasomayāgāṅgatvaprasaktau prakaraṇādrājasūyāṅgatvam /
na cābhiṣecanīyasyāpi phalavattvena prakaraṇāśaṅkā, tasya vikṛtitvena kḷptopakāraprākṛtāṅganirākāṅkṣasya tadabhāvāt /

naca ------- vikṛtāvapi yatprākṛtāṅgānuvādena vaikṛtamaṅgaṃ vācanikaṃ vidhīyate yathā pṛṣattādi, tasyāpi vikṛtigatāṅgākāṅkṣāyāmanivṛttāyāmeva vidheyatvāttatsandaṣṭasya tatpūrvabhāvitvesati pradhānottarabhāvino 'pūrvāṅgasya vā prakaraṇenaiva grahaṇopapatteḥ videvanādīnāṃ cābhiṣecanīyottaramuktavidhābhiṣekapūrvabhāvitvena pāṭhātprakaraṇagrahaṇopapattiriti ------- vācyam; prākṛtāṅgānuvādena vihitasyāpyapūrvāṅgasyopahomavadvikṛtyākāṅkṣāyāṃ nivṛttāyāmeva vidhānāt /
yasya hi prākṛtakāryāpannatayā vaikṛtāṅgasya vidhānaṃ yathaudumbaratvaśarādestasyaivānivṛttākāṅkṣāyāṃ vidhānam, tatsandaṣṭasyaiva ca tatpūrvabhāvino vā pradhānottarāṅgasya vikṛtiprakaraṇena grahaṇam /
abhiṣekasya tu prākṛtakāryāpannatvābhāvānna tatpūrvapaṭhitānāṃ videvanādīnāmabhiṣecanīyaprakaraṇagrāhyatvopapattiḥ /

vastutastu abhiṣekasyāpi svatantrotpannasya prakaraṇādrājasūyāṅgatvāvagate r"māhendrastotraṃ pratyabhiṣicyate" ityatra pratiśabdayogena kālārthaḥ saṃyoga iti vakṣyate /
ato videvanādyabhiṣekāntānāṃ sarveṣāmeva sannidhānādinābhiṣecanīyāṅgatvaprasaktau prakaraṇena tadbādhaḥ /
naca rājasūyasyāpi pratyekaṃ vikṛtitvātprakaraṇābhāvaḥ; pavitrādārabhya kṣatrasya dhṛtiṃ yāvadrājasūyatvadharmapuraskāreṇa vācanikāṅgāmnānāttatsandaṣṭavidevanādīnāṃ prakaraṇagrāhyatvopapatteḥ /
evaṃ prakaraṇasya kramāntarairapi udāharaṇānyūhyāni /
evaṃ kramayorvirodhe sannidhānena yājyādvayasya kāmyaindrāgnadvayāṅgatve aniyamena prasakte yathākramapāṭhādādyasyādyāṅgatvam /

kramasamākhyayorvirodhe pauroḍāśikasamākhyāte kāṇḍe samāmnātasya śundhadhvamiti mantrādeḥ sannidhānātsānnāyyāṅgatvam /
naca māhadhikāreṇa sannidhibādhaḥ; tasyāpi vācanikāṅgasandaṣṭatvena balavattvāt /
nacaivaṃ tasya prakaraṇatvāpattiḥ; mantrasya siddharūpatvena liṅgāviniyojyatvena ca prakaraṇāviṣayatvāt /
sannidhānasyāpi samākhyāvadapūrvasādhanatvalakṣaṇātātparyagrāhakatva eva balābalaṃ na tu viniyoge /
tatra tūdāharaṇāntaraṃ mṛgyam /
evaṃ samākhyayorvirodhe ādhvaryavamiti sāmānyasamākhyāyā yajamānamiti viśeṣasabhākhyayā bādhaḥ /
evaṃ vdyantaritatryantaritādipramāṇasya pūrvaiḥ sahavirodhe śeṣānekatve ca udāharaṇāni kaustubhe draṣṭavyāni /
sa cāyaṃ śrutiliṅgādibādho 'prāptabādhaḥ /
tattvaṃ cāṅgatābodhakaliṅgādikalpyapramāṇapratibandhakatvam /
pūrvapūrvapramāṇena hi aṅgatve 'vadhārite nirākāṅkṣatvāduttarottarataḥ pūrvapūrvapramāṇakalpanaiva nodetīti so 'yamaprāptabādhaḥ /
evaṃ gṛhamedhīye ājyabhāgau yajatītyādāvapi /
anyatra sāmānyaviśeṣanityanaimittikabhāvādau prāptabādhaḥ /
kḷptasya bodhakasya viśeṣaviṣayatāpratibandhakatvam /
sāmānyaśāstrāderhi viśeṣaśāstrādinā padahomādiviṣayatāmātraṃ pratibadhyate, natu sāmānyaśāstramapi; tasya kḷptatvenākalpanīyatvāt, homāntareṣvapyāhavanīyābhāvāpattyā mithyātvasyāpi kalpayitumaśakyatvācca /

ataeva yena sāmānyaśāstrameva pūrvamālocitaṃ tasya viśeṣādarśanajanitabhrama eva viśeṣaviṣayako viśeṣaśāstreṇa bādhyate /
evaṃ yatrāpi "na tau paśau karotī" tyādau śāstraprāptasya niṣedhastatrāpi prāpakaśāstrasya yadyapi niṣedhasya prāptisāpekṣatvenopajīvyatvādatyantabādhānupapatterviśeṣaviṣayatvamāvaśyakam, tathāpi tatra vikalpāṅgīkārāttadabhāvapakṣe viśeṣaviṣayatvapratibandhānnoktalakṣaṇāvyāptiḥ /
yathā ca tatra rāgaprāptaniṣedhavat bhrāntiprāptasya bādhamaṅgīkṛtya na vikalpastathā kaustubhe draṣṭavyam /
vakṣyate cātrāpi daśame /

satyapi virodhe aśvamahiṣyādivadekaviṣayatvābhāve balābalasyābhāvāt satyapyaruṇāvākye
āruṇyasyāpūrvasādhanībhūtakrayārthatvarūpaikārthaviṣayatve śrutivākyaprakaraṇānāṃ virodhābhāve tasyābhāvādvirodhe satyekaviṣayatve balābalaṃ nirūpyate ityarthena sūtragataṃ samavāyapadaṃ vyākhyātam /
etadeva virodhasyaikaviṣayatvapradarśanavyājena kathayati -------- virodhaśceti //

yena prayojanena darśapūrṇamāsāṅgatvaṃ prayājādīnāṃ na tenaiva vaimṛdhasya, tattajjanyopakārabhede sati dvāraikyābhāvāditi na tatra samavāya ityarthaḥ /
evaṃ codāhṛtasamavāyadvayasthale pramāṇayoḥ prabaladurbalabhāve ekasya bādha eva, sāmyetu ādyasthale pramāṇadvayenobhayāṅgatvopapatteḥ samuccaye nobhayāṅgatvam /
dvitīyetu vikalpo yathā vrīhiyaveṣvitibhāvaḥ /

yathā ekasvargarūpaṃ phalaṃ prati darśapūrṇamāsādeḥ śeṣatābodhakaṃ

tatprayojanañca bhinnakāryatāvacchedakāvacchinnatvabodhanenaikasmāt prayogādekakāryatāvacchedakāvacchinnasyaikasya utpattiniyamenāvacchinnaputrapaśvādyanyataraphalotpattiniyamasiddhāvapi putrasvargarūpaphalotpattyavighātaḥ; svargasya bhinnakāryatāvacchedakāvacchinnatvenotpattau bādhakābhāvāt /
atastādṛśaprayojanāntarasidhyarthaṃ prabalasyaiva viniyojakatvamityarthaḥ /
prayojanāntarakalpanamiti //
yathā śākhābhedenāmnātayoḥ svargavākyayoḥ tattadadhyetṛbhedena jñāpanarūpaprayojanāntarakalpanam /
ataścaitādṛśasthale samavāyābhāvānna vicāraviṣayatvamityarthaḥ

atrahi tṛtīyāśrutyā kriyāsāmānyaṃ pratyaṅgatvamāruṇyasya krīṇātisamabhivyāhāralakṣaṇavākyena krayarūpakriyāviśeṣaṃ prati prakaraṇenāpūrvasādhanaviśeṣaṃ pratīti trayāṇāṃ samavāye 'pyaṅgatābodhakatvaṃ tṛtīyāśrutereva anyattu viśeṣaṇavidhikalpanāyāṃ uddeśyasamarpaṇārthamityekaviṣayatvābhāvānna samavāya ityarthaḥ //
yadyapi sarveṣāṃ pramāṇānāṃ samavāye pāradaurbalyamuktam, na dvayoḥ; tathāpi śrutyādisamudāyasyaikatra viniyojakatvābhāvāt tadgatabalābalasya pratipradhānāvṛttinyāyena pratyekameva viniyojakatvaparyavasānāt sūtrasvārasyāt ekaikasya daurbalye vaktavye aparatra prābalyopanyāsaḥ pratiyogividhayā kathyata iti dvayoḥ dvayoḥ balābalavicāro nāyuktaḥ /
tatra yathā prasaṅgādiha pāde śrutiliṅgayoḥ balābalavicāraḥ tathaiva tulyanyāyatvāt śrutyoḥ liṅgayoścāpi tadvicāraḥ prāsaṅgikaḥ kariṣyate /
tatra śrutiliṅgavirodhodāharaṇe
"aindyā gārhapatyamupatiṣṭhata" ityasmin na svarūpeṇa tṛtīyādiśruteḥ mantraliṅgasya ca virodhaḥ; indraṃ pratyaṅgatvasya tṛtīyayā vārayitumaśakyatvāt /
gārhapatyamiti niyame sati tayoḥ virodhaprasaktiḥ /
tasya cāruṇyaikahāyanyoriva gārhapatyapadasamabhivyāhārarūpavākyakṛtatvāt vākyaliṅgayoriha virodho na śrutiliṅgavirodhaprasaktirityāśaṅkāṃ vakṣyamāṇaśrutiliṅgavirodhodāharaṇatādarthyādihaiva prasaṅgānnirākaroti -------- ataeveti

indro devatā yasyāḥ saindrītyarthe aindrīti taddhitānuśāsanāt taddhitenendrasya prakāśyasvarūpadevatātvāvagamena prakāśyatayā indrasya prādhānyapratīteraṅgatvaghaṭakībhūtoddeśyatāvācitvāt mantrasya indraṃ pratyaṅgatābodhakatvaṃ netyarthaḥ

ataścoktaprādhānyena ripsitatvākhyaṃ tallakṣayitvā taddhitaśrutyā viniyogo na bodhyetetikārakaśrutyapekṣayā daurbalyamityāha tasyeti //
evaṃ kārakaśrutyoḥ vijātīyaśrutyoḥ samānajātīyaśrutyośca virodhe balābalodāharaṇāni kaustubhe draṣṭavyāni /

kiñca vihitatvaghaṭitamaṅgatvaṃ na vidhikalpanaṃ vinā saṃbhavati /
saca liṅādiśabdaikagamya ityavaśyaṃ liṅādiśabdakalpane āvaśyake tatra śabdopasthitasyaiva kṛtikārakatvāderanvayārthaṃ tadvācakapadarūpaśrutikalpanenaiva liṅgasya viniyojakatvamityabhipretya daurbalyamupapādayati -------- atrahīti //

vikṛtisthale devatādirūpāṅgāpekṣāyā ākṣepeṇānivṛtteḥ sādṛśyaviśeṣopasthāpitaprākṛtāṅganiyamo nāyukta iti vaiṣamyamityarthaḥ /
atraca bādhyaliṅgaviṣaya indrapadameva, avaśiṣṭapadānāṃ tadekavākyatayendrāṅgatvānna tadviṣayatvam, kintu indrapadaikavākyatāpannarūpavākyena śrutyā virodhaḥ /
athavā -------- śrutyā indrapadasya gārhapatyāṅgatve pramāpite avaśiṣṭapadānāṃ tadekavākyatayā gārhapatyāṅgatvasyaivāpatterna tadaṃśe 'pi śrutervyāpāra iti sā vastutastātparyagatyā indrapadamātraviṣayiṇyeveti na tadaṃśe śrutivākyavirodha iti dhyeyam

"yadyapyanyadevatya" iti vākyīyaviniyogabalāt lakṣaṇādinā sāmarthyamupakalpya agnīṣomīyāṅgatvamevamihāpi gārhapatyāṅgatvaṃ vākyenopapadyate //
naca "yadyapyanyadevatya" ityasya prakṛtāvavāyavyanigadatvenāprasaktavāyavyādipaśūhanivartakatvaṃ saṃbhavati /
ata utkarṣanivartakatayā prakṛtāvaṅgatvabodhakatvamevetyarthaḥ /
anayaiva rītyā
"ityaśvābhidhānīmādatta" ityatra vākyīyaviniyogaṃ ye icchanti teṣāṃ mate 'pi liṅgabādha upapādanīyaḥ //
liṅgyoriti //
barhirdevasadanamityādimantrāṇāṃ gauṇasāmarthyena gauṇārthāṅgatve prasakte 'mukhyasāmarthyena mukhyārthāṅgatvāt tadbādha ityarthaḥ /
syonaṃ ta iti

"syonaṃ te sadanaṃ karomi ghṛtasya dhārayā suśevaṃ kalpayāmi /
tasmin sīdāmṛte pratitiṣṭha vrīhīṇāṃ medhaḥ sumanasyamāna" iti mantraḥ pātryāmājyābhighāritāyāṃ puroḍāśasya sthāpane prayujyate /
asyārthaḥ :---- he vrīhīṇāṃ medhaḥ! vrīhivikārabhūtayāgārhadravya puroḍāśa te sadanaṃ sthānaṃ syonaṃ śrlakṣṇaṃ ghṛtasya dhārayā karomi yataḥ suśevaṃ sukhaśayanayogyaṃ kalpayāmi tasmin tasmin sadane amṛtaṃ nāsti mṛtaṃ dāhādikṛtamaraṇaṃ yasmin tathābhūte sumanasyamānaḥ prīyamāṇaḥ san tvaṃ pratitiṣṭha sthiro bhaveti /
atra pūrvārdhottarārdhayorekatra
sannidhānātmakavākyena sadanakaraṇe sādanevāṅgatvena prasaktayoḥ liṅgena bādhe vaktavye kathamatra bhinnapratītiviṣayānekamukhyaviśeṣyarāhityarūpaikārthyasyā'khyātabhedenābhāvāt ekavākyatvasyāprasakteḥ kathamanyataramātre dvayoraprasaktiḥ? yena virodho nirūpyetetyata aikavākyatāṃ sādhayati -------- tasminkasminniti //
pratītita ekārthyābhāve 'pi tacchabdasya pūrvasāpekṣatvena
"ye yajñapatiṃ vardhānī" tyādau yacchabdasyeva vibhajyamānasākāṅkṣatvāt tanmātreṇa tadvadevārthaikatvamapi prakalpyaikavākyatvopapattiḥ /
saṃbhavati hyākhyātopāttabhāvanāyā api sākāṅkṣatve paśya mṛgo dhāvatītyatreva bhāvanāntare prakāratayānvayena sā /
ataeva ākāṅkṣāvaśenā'khyātārthasya mukhyaviśeṣyatvabādhe 'pi na kṣitirityarthaḥ /
yadyapi asañjātavirodhitvāt ākāṅkṣotthāpakatacchabdaśravaṇābhāvācca na pūrvākhyātasya prakāratayā svārthabodhakatvakalpanā, apitur idṛśaṃ sadanakaraṇaṃ yasya tvatpratiṣṭhāpanaṃ sādhyamityevamuttarākhyāta eva prakāratvakalpanāduttarākhyātasyaiveti pūrvārdhasya sadanakaraṇe liṅgena viniyoge 'pyuttarārdhasya devasyatveti padānāṃ nirvāpādipadaikavākyatayā nirvāpa iva pūrvārdhaikavākyatayā sadanakaraṇa eva prāptirataḥ sadanasādanayoranyataratra ubhayatra pratiṣṭhāpana evetyuktiḥ saṃbhavamātreṇa
kathañcinneyeti bhāvaḥ //
tacchabdabalādarthaikatvaṃ prakalpya ekavākyatvamityuktaṃ dūṣayati -------- tacchabdasyeti //
yacchabdasyaiva svavākyopasthitatacchabdopakṣiptaniyamasya
"yena karmaṇertsettajjayā" nityādau vyutpattisiddhatvadarśane 'pi tacchabdasya vākyopasthitamātraparāmarśitvaniyamābhāve darśanādihāpi svavākyopasthitamātraparāmarśitvaniyamābhāve sati vibhajyamānasākāṅkṣatvānupapatteḥ arthaikatvakalpanāyogāt vibhajyaiva liṅgena viniyogaḥ pūrvārdhe sadanakaraṇe uttarārdhaṃ sādana iti //

"yadi devasyatvā"dipadavadasya pṛthak prayoge ānarthakyaṃ bhavet, tadā naivaṃ viniyogaḥ syāt, astitu liṅgādapūrvasādhanībhūtasādanārthatvena sāmarthyam /

tatrāgnīṣomendrāgnīpadayoḥ vibhajya viniyoge 'pyavaśiṣṭānāmidaṃ havirityādīnāmubhayatra paṭhitānāṃ padānāṃ prakaraṇādubhayārthatve sati
"agnīṣomāvidaṃhavirajuṣetāṃ avīvṛdhetāṃ maho jyāyo 'krātāṃ" ityevaṃ kevalendrāgnipadasamabhivyāhārarūpavākyena tattaddevatāprakāśakapadaikavākyatayā bādhyate /

yattu atra prakāśakāraiḥ śrautavrīhyarthatve ānarthakyāt kimākāṅkṣāyā anivṛtteravaghātādeḥ sannipātino 'pi prakaraṇaviniyojyatetyuktam, tat ------ na; adhikārākhyaprakaraṇenāpūrvasādhanatvalakṣaṇayā ānarthakyaparihāreṇa tādrūpyeṇa vrīhyarthatve sati kimākāṅkṣānivṛtteḥ śruteḥ prakaraṇāt balīyastvenaca prakaraṇaviniyojyatvānupapatteḥ /
etena -------- prathamata itikartavyatātvenānvayābhāve prakṛtakarmānanvayino 'vaghātasyānarthakyaparijihīrṣāyā evāpravṛtteḥ prakaraṇagrāhyatvaṃ somanāthoktaṃ ------ apāstam; prakaraṇenāvaghātādīnāmitikartavyatātvenānvaye prayājādīnāmiva tena teṣāmapyapūrvasaṃbandhāvagatāvapūrvārthānāṃ satāṃ vrīhyarthatvabodhane ānarthakyāprasakteḥ vrīhyādipadeṣu tatparihārāyāpūrvasādhanatvaṃ tattadvidhibhireva sidhyatīti vyarthaṃ prakaraṇaviniyojyatākalpanaṃ iti prakaraṇādhikaraṇa eva vaktavyamiha prasaṅgādāviṣkṛṣamiti

teṣāṃ cāyāgatvāt rājasūyapadavācyatvābhāvāt phalavadrājasūyasannidhānāt cāturthikanyāyenāṅgatve nirvivāde sati sannidhānādabhiṣecanīyāṅgatvaṃ prāptaṃ rājasūyamahāprakaraṇena bādhitvā rājasūyāṅgatvamityarthaḥ

yadyapi prākṛtānāmaṅgānāṃ prakṛtyupakārakatayā ākāṅkṣābhāve vikṛtisaṃbandho vikṛtyanyatarākāṅkṣārūpasthānāt, vaikṛtānāṃ tūbhayākāṅkṣayā saṃbandhe sati prakaraṇena prabalena vikṛtyā apūrvāṅgagrahaṇameva prāpnoti; tathāpi pramāṇabalābalāpekṣayā prameyapadārthagatabalābalasya jyāyastvāt tadālocane kḷptopakārakatvena prākṛtāṅgagrahaṇameva prathamato yuktam /
nahi vikṛtiḥ padārthān ākāṅkṣati, kintu
tajjanyānupakārān tatpṛṣṭhabhāvena ca padārthān /
ataeva yāvatpadārthānvayaṃ kathaṃbhāvākāṅkṣānuvṛtteḥ tayaiva padārthānāṃ prathamaṃ grahaṇāt vaikṛtopakārāṇāmutthāpyākāṅkṣayaiva grahaṇamiti nobhayākāṅkṣālakṣaṇaprakaraṇaṃ vikṛtāviti kḷptopakāretyanena sūcitam /

tatra vikṛteḥ kathaṃbhāvākāṅkṣā upakārapṛṣṭhabhāvena anūyājānvayaṃ yāvadanuvartataiti yāvadanūyājānvayo bhavati tāvadanūyājānāṃ svāṅgasaṃbandhaṃ vinānvayāyogāt tanmadhyapātitvāt pṛṣattāyā anivṛttākāṅkṣāyāmeva grahaṇādubhayākāṅkṣayā grahaṇāt prakaraṇenaiva grahaṇaṃ bhavati /
tatsaṃdaṃśamadhyavartino 'ṅgasya, yathā sāṃgrahaṇeṣṭyāṃ āmnātaprayājānūyājadharmāntarālavihitā'manahomādeḥ /
tathā tādṛśaprākṛtāṅgasaṃbadhyaṅgasaṃdaṣṭaṃ yat na bhavati prākṛtāṅgasaṃbadhyaṅgasaṃbandhātpūrvabhāvitayā pradhānottarāṅgānvayaṃ yāvadākāṅkṣāyā anivṛtteranivṛttākāṅkṣāyāmeva grahaṇāt prakaraṇena grahaṇamityarthaḥ

"māhendrasya stotraṃ pratyabhiṣicyate" iti vākyena prākṛtamāhendrastotrāṅgānuvādenābhiṣekasya abhiṣecanīyottāraṅgatayā vidhānārthasyānivṛttākāṅkṣāyāṃ grahaṇe sati tatpūrvabhāvitayā abhiṣecanīyottaramāmnātānāṃ videvanādīnāmapi paśvādiṣu sāmidhenyanuvādena vihitasāptadaśyavadanivṛttākāṅkṣayā grahaṇopapatteḥ prakaraṇenaivābhiṣecanīyāṅgatvāpattiḥ, ata āha -------- videvanādīnāṃ ceti //
yāvatā svāṅgena prakṛtau aṅgānāṃ kḷptopakārakatvaṃ tāvatsvāṅgasahitasyāṅgasya kḷptopakārakatvena vikṛtyākāṅkṣayā grahaṇam, tāvataiva tadākāṅkṣoparamāt /
yattu prākṛtāṅgānuvādenāprākṛtamaṅgaṃ tadvināpi prākṛtāṅgasya prakṛtau kḷptopakārakatvadarśanādihāpi tasyaiva vikṛtyākāṅkṣayā grahaṇāt ākāṅkṣāyā nivṛtteḥ anivṛttākāṅkṣāyāmagrahaṇāt upahomānāmivānyatarākāṅkṣayaiva grahaṇamiti na prakaraṇam /
etena -------- tatsandaṣṭasya prākṛtāṅgasaṃbandhyaṅgasaṃbandhāt pūrvabhāvinaḥ pradhānottarāpūrvāṅgasya vāpi naiva prakaraṇena grahaṇam iti sūcitam /
tathāca prakṛte satyapi abhiṣekasyāpūrvatve nivṛttākāṅkṣayaiva grahaṇāt nābhiṣecanīyaprakaraṇamityabhipretyāśaṅkāṃ nirasyati -------- prākṛtāṅgānuvādeneti //

audumbaravākyena vihitasyaudumbaratvasya tena kiṃ bhāvayedityākāṅkṣāyāṃ dṛṣṭādṛṣṭarūpayūpamātrārthatvena prakṛtau taṃ vināpi jātatvenānarthakyāparihārādanivṛtterastyeva bhāvyākāṅkṣā /
vikṛterapyasti kathaṃbhāvākāṅkṣā /
sāca tadā śāmyati, yadopakārāstatpṛṣṭhabhāvenaca padārthā anvīyante natūpakārānvayena śāmyati /
ataśca yathā indriyabhāvanāyāḥ karaṇākāṅkṣā dadhnaḥ karaṇatvenānvaye jāte siddhasya karaṇatvānupapattyā homasyāśrayatvānvayaṃ yāvadanuvartate natu dadhyanvayamātreṇa nivartate /
āśrayatvenaca gṛhyamāṇo homaḥ karaṇākāṅkṣayaiva gṛhyate ityucyate, natvāśrayākāṅkṣā nāma caturthyasti; evaṃ vikṛteḥ kathaṃbhāvākāṅkṣā nopakārānvayamātreṇa nivartate /
upakārapṛṣṭhabhāvena gṛhyamāṇāḥ padārthāḥ kathaṃbhāvākāṅkṣayaiva gṛhyante /
tatra prākṛtāḥ padārthāḥ tayā gṛhyamāṇā api prakṛtyupakārakatayā teṣāṃ nirākāṅkṣatvānna prakaraṇena gṛhyante, ye tvaprākṛtāḥ prākṛtasthānāpannā audumbaratvādayo 'nyānupakārakatayā teṣāṃ nirākāṅkṣakṣatvānna sākāṅkṣāste paśuniyojanayūpapṛṣṭhabhāvena yāvat khādiratvamāyāti tāvadvidhīyante ityubhayākāṅkṣayā grahaṇāt prakaraṇena gṛhyanta iti tasyāṃ vikṛtāvasti prakaraṇam /
evaṃ śareṣvapi jñeyamityarthaḥ

etena -------- abhiṣecanīyāṅgamāhendrastotrāṅgatayābhiṣekasya vidhānādabhiṣecanīyāvāntaraprakaraṇamiti ---------- nirastam; avāntaraprakaraṇatvenābhimatasyābhiṣecanīyasya sākāṅkṣatvaṃ śaunaḥśepapāṭhakāle yadi syāt tadā tatsannidhāvāmnātena śaunaḥśopākhyānādinā svavākyārthaparipūrṇenāpyavāntaraprakaraṇalakṣaṇā vākyaikavākyatā kalpyeta, tasya tvabhiṣecanīyasya videvanādibhyaḥ prāgeva prākṛtairaṅgaiḥ nirākāṅkṣatvena yāvadasatyākāṅkṣā kalpyā tataḥ prāgeva rājasūye kathaṃbhāvākāṅkṣayā siddhe viniyoge avāntaraprakaraṇavattvāyogādityarthaḥ //
evaṃ māhendrastotrāṅgatvamabhiṣekasyāṅgīkṛtyāpi prakaraṇāgrāhyatvamupapādyādhunā tadaṅgatvameva abhiṣekasyāyuktamityāha --------- vastutastviti //
śaunaḥśepamākhyāya pratyabhiṣicyata ityevaṃ
videvanādyabhiṣekāntānāṃ svātantryeṇotpannānāṃ madhye abhiṣeke māhendrasya stotraṃ pratyabhiṣicyata ityanena māhendrastotrakālamātravidhānena māhendrastotrāṅgatvābhāvānna prākṛtāṅgānuvādenābhiṣekavidhiḥ /
ataḥ stotradvārā apūrvatvavidhayāpi kathaṃbhāvagrahaṇāyogānna prakaraṇavyāpāraḥ saṃbhavati ityutkarṣāpakarṣābhyāmanuṣṭheyatvāvagatau prayojanāpekṣābhāvena yatrotpattiḥ tatraiva prayojanāpekṣayā tatkalpane teṣāṃ mahāprakaraṇāt rājasūyāṅgatvameva natu sannidhānādabhiṣecanīyāṅgatvamityarthaḥ

"prātyātmikāpūrvasidhdyai kathaṃbhāvasya prākṛtaiḥ nivṛttāvapi samastasādhyaphalāpūrvasidhyai kathaṃbhāvasya pavitrākhyāt somayāgādārabhya kṣatrasya dhṛtyākhyasomayāgaparyantamanuvṛttestanmadhyapātividevanādisparśāt tatkathaṃbhāvena viniyogaḥ siddha ityāśayaḥ" iti granthena nyāyasudhāyāṃ kathaṃbhāvānivṛttimadhyapātitvaparatayā vyākhyātam, natu videvanādīnāṃ rājasūyatvapuraskāreṇa vihitadharmasandaṃśapātitvaparatayā /
śāstradīpikāyāmapi keṣucidaṅgeṣu rājasūyārthatvaśravaṇena rājasūyatvena kathaṃbhāvākāṅkṣāmupapādya mahāprakaraṇenaiṣāṃ tadaṅgatvamuktam, natvavāntaraprakaraṇāditi //
nahi bhāṣyavārtikādyadarśite videvanādīnāṃ vācanikāṅgasandaṃśe śākhāntarīyatvakalpanā prabhavati /
ato 'tra sarveṣāṃ navīnanibandhakārāṇāṃ vācanikāṅgasandaṃśapaṭhitatve bhramaeva

paramārthatastu --------- mahāprakaraṇāt rājasūyāṅgatvasiddhānto 'pi kṛtvācintayaivātra yuktaḥ, taittirīyaśākhāyāmabhiṣecanīyaprayogamadhye abhiṣekānantaraṃ "diśobhyayaṃrājābhūditi pañcākṣān prayacchati" "śaunaḥ śepamākhyāpayati" iti videvanādīnāmnāyamadhye bahūnyabhiṣecanīyāṅgāni "apāṃ naptre svāhorje naptre svāhāgnaye gṛhapataye svāheti tistra āhutīrjuhoti" ityādīnyāmnātāni /
teṣāmupahomanyāyena utthāpyākāṅkṣāyābhiṣecanīyena sahānvīyamānānāmantarāle 'bhiṣecanīyāṅgatvasyaivāpatteḥ /
āpastambādikalpasūtreṣu parimale vedhādyarthabhedādityadhikaraṇe 'pyevam /
yattu -------- abhiṣecanīyottaraṃ prāgdaśapeyādvidevanaprabhṛtyabhiṣekāntadharmāmnānamādāyābhiṣekāpakarṣe tadantāpakarṣanyāyena videvanādīnāmapakarṣābhidhānaṃ pāñcamikaṃ tadbhāṣyakāralekhanādastu śākhāntarīyapāṭhakalpanayā pramāṇam, parantu teṣāmabhiṣecanīyāṅgatvaṃ taittirīyaśākhādṛṣṭāvāntaraprakaraṇāt naiva vārayituṃ śakyam /
nahyapāṃ naptre svāhā ityādihomānāmabhiṣecanīyānvayāyābhiṣecanīyākāṅkṣotthāpanam, navā rājasūyāṅgatvaṃ teṣāṃ kasyacidiṣṭam /
evañcotpavanādivākye śrūyamāṇamapi rājasūyapadaṃ avāntaraprakaraṇādabhiṣecanīyākhyarājasūyaviśeṣayāgaparameveti alaṃ vistareṇa //
atra cānuṣṭhānasādeśyasthale prakaraṇasaṃbhāvanāyā evābhāvāt kadācitsaṃbhave paśusāmānyavidhyadhikaraṇe tena prakaraṇabādhasyaiva vakṣyamāṇatayā etadapavādānna prakaraṇabalīyastvodāharaṇam /
evaṃ yathākramapāṭhasthale aindrāgnādikarmabhiḥ tulyakramāṇāṃ yājyānuvākyāyugalānāṃ kasyacidapi prakaraṇe anāmnānāddabdhimantrasya
śundhanamantrasyaca darśapūrṇamāsaprakaraṇāmnātasyāpi asi śundhadhvamiti sannihitopasaṃhāriyuṣmadarthaviṣayamadhyamapuruṣasāmarthyātmakaliṅgena virodhāt dabdhimantrasyāspaṣṭaliṅgatvenāpi prakaraṇaviniyojyatvāyogāt yathāsaṅkhyalakṣaṇakrameṇa sannidhinopāṃśuyāje sānnāyyapātraśundhaneca viniyogānnodāharaṇatvam, evaṃ nirākāṅkṣavikṛtisannihitānāṃ vikṛtau prakaraṇābhāve sthānādevāṅgatvāt prakaraṇasamavāyāsaṃbhavena nodāharaṇatvamityabhipretyāha -------- evaṃ prakaraṇasyeti //
prayojanaṃ videvanādyantarā somāṅgalopaprāyaścittaṃ pūrvapakṣe, siddhāntetu someṣṭyaṅgalopaprāyaścittaṃ samuccayeneti spaṣṭatvānnoktam //
yattu prakāśakāraiḥ ------ siddhānte someṣṭyaṅgalopaprāyaścittadvayasya vikalpatvamuktam, tadekatarānuṣṭhānenaikata ravaiguṇyaparihārāsaṃbhavāt ayuktamityupekṣyam /

"tasya vyākhyāna" ityatra vyākhyāyate aneneti vyākhyānaṃ ityarthasya tathā dvitīyeca sūtre pauroḍāśāḥ piṣṭapiṇḍāḥ tatsaṃskārako mantraḥ pauroḍāśaḥ tasya vyākhyānaṃ tatra bhavo vā pauroḍāśika ityarthasya kāśikāvṛttau darśitatvāt vyākhyānaśabdasya pratipādanaparatvāvagateḥ tādṛśapratipādanarūpaṃ vyākhyānaṃ yena adhyāyena kāṇḍena vā kriyate tatparatvamataśca kāṇḍasya puroḍāśamantrapratipādakatve 'pi tasyā bādha evetyarthaḥ //

yathaiva "lohitoṣṇīṣā ṛtvijaścaranti ---------" iti vākye lohitoṣṇīṣapadopāttānāmṛtvijāmevātideśapravṛtteḥ pūrvapravṛttyaṅgīkāreṇa vidhiviśeṣaṇībhūtalohitoṣṇīṣatvavidhānaphalakaḥ tadvadihetyarthaḥ /
atiprasaṅgāpatteriti //
prāthamyavākye 'pi samastapadena prāthamyaṃ lakṣayitvā samākhyāprāptabhakṣyānuvādena tadvidhānāpattyā karmāntaratvānāpatterityarthaḥ //
nanu atra yathātideśaprāpteḥ pūrvaṃ prapiṣṭadravyaprakṛtitvavidhiḥ peṣaṇamātraphalakaḥ svīkriyate, tathā tatrāpi prāthamyaviśiṣṭabhakṣaṇasya vaṣaṭkartruddeśena naimittikabhakṣaprāpteḥ pūrvaṃ vidhiḥ prāthamyamātraphalaka iti na karmāntaratvaṃ syāt ityāśaṅkāṃ parihartuṃ vailakṣaṇyaṃ darśayati -------- tatrāsmaditi //

ataeva ------ vaiśadyasya piṣṭakacarāvapi saṃbhavādodanarūpa eva vaiśadyavati tasmin caruśabdaprayogasya mukhyatayaivāṅgīkārāt odanavācitātadavācitayoḥ svīkāre 'nuṣṭhānabhedābhāvāttatrāgrahamapradarśyaiva piṣṭakacarau caruśabdamātrapravṛttipradarśanena pradeyasiddhyarthatvaṃ peṣaṇasyopapādayati -------- vastutastviti //

atredamavadheyam -------- yadi atra peṣaṇavidhibalāt sāmānyavācinaḥ caruśabdasya piṣṭakacaruviśeṣaparatvam, tadā naivāsya peṣaṇavidhitvaṃ kleśena svīkartumucitam; asya "nivītaṃ manuṣyāṇāmi"tyasyopavītavākyaśeṣatveneva taittirīyaśākhāyāṃ prāśitraharaṇavidhivākyaśeṣatvenāpi "aditimodanene" tivadiha niyāmakatvopapatteḥ /
nahi sannihitapaṭhitameva jñāpakamiti niyamaḥ; pramāṇābhāvena yathātathābhūtasya pradeśāntare sthitasyāpi jñāpakatvopapatteḥ /
ataeva ātithyavākyaśeṣabhūtasyāpi jñāpakatvopapattiḥ /
"nahyatrānūyājānyajanbhavatī" tyarthavādasya pradeśāntarasthasya "aṣṭāvupabhṛti gṛhṇātī"ti vākyagatāṣṭapadasya catuṣkadvayalakṣaṇājñāpakatvamiṣyata eva /
evañca piṣṭakacarau caruśabdaprayogānurodheneha tadgrahaṇapeṣaṇasya pradeyasiddhidvārātideśādeva prāpteḥ nirarthakameva tasya vidhitvāśrayaṇam /
nahyekavākyatvasaṃbhave vākyabhedamaṅgīkṛtya dvidevatye peṣaṇavāraṇāya vidhitvaṃ yuktam; jñāpakatvasyaivaikavākyatābhaṅgena yuktatvena dvidevatye taddvārā prayojanābhāvāt /
yadapyuktaṃ pārthasārathinā -------- piṣṭakacarāvapi viśadapākasaṃbhavāt caruśabdasyaudanavācitvamita, tat na; piṣṭasya jalapūritāyāṃ sthālyāṃ prakṣepeṇa pāke sati vaiśadyasyāsaṃbhavāt /
nahi piṣṭe jalena piṇḍībhūte anyonyabhāvasya pratiyogyanuyogyupalaṃbho jāyate, yena anyonyāsaṃlagnatvarūpaṃ vaiśadyaṃ prāpnuyāt /
ataeva odane taṇḍulānāmevānyonyatayā pṛthagavasthānāt tadasaṃlagnatvaṃ spaṣṭamevopalabhyate /
anavastrāvite taṇḍulacarau vaiśadyavyāvṛttyarthameva pracurajaladānasya tathābhūte odane ca tāvatparyāptamātrajaladānasya ca śiṣṭasaṃpradāye darśanāt parasparasaṃlagnatve sati anavastrāvitāntarūṣmapakvatvamātreṇaiva caruvyavahāra iti vaiśadyasyānapekṣaṇānna vaiśadyaprayuktamodanatvamiti tatraiva yājñikaprayogaḥ syāt /

tava tu laukikaprayogādiva yājñikaprayogādapyarthavādaprābalyāt tadviruddhānodanapiṣṭakavācitāyuktā --------" iti, tadetaddāśamikādhikaraṇaśāstradīpikāyā viruddham /
tatra hi anavastrāvitāntarūṣmapakvaudana evayājñikaprayogasyokteḥ tatraicār'thavādāt pūrvaṃ caruśabdaśravaṇānantaraṃ śaktigrahādarthavādasya tadupodbalatayā sthālīmātravācakatānirāsa eva tātparyapratīteḥ nirṇītopakramasthacaruśebdānurodhena sāmānyavacanasya viśeṣaparatvakalpanayāpyarthavādāvirodhena caruśabdaśaktigrāhakatve mānābhāvenārthavādavaśāt sāmānyata odanavācino viśeṣāpekṣayā yājñikaprayogagrahaṇamityarthakalpanasyāsaṅgatatvāt /
ataeva tadadhikaraṇer'thavādasamānakakṣyatayaiva yājñikaprayoga odanaparyantatvenoktomiśraiḥ, yasya tu nyāyasudhākṛto mate odanaparyante caruśabdasya śaktistasyāpi mate na trivṛccarvaśvavālādhikaraṇe caruśabdasya sthālīvācitānirāsenārthavādasyodanarūpārthaśaktigrāhakatayopanyāsaḥ; caruśabdārthanirṇayasya yājñikaprasidhyaiva siddheḥ prayojanābhāvāt //

itarathā prayogāviśeṣāt lokaprasiddhasthālyā yājñikaprasiddhasya ca madhye katarasya grahaṇamiti sandehanirākaraṇārthatvasyaivāpattyā "sandigdheṣu vākyaśeṣādi" tyanenaiva gatārthatvāpatteḥ /
tathāca nirṇītārthasyaiva caruśabdasyātrārthavādena nirṇayānna sandigdhanyāyaviṣayateti trivṛccarvaśvavālādhikaraṇaśāstradīpikoktaṃ virudhyeta /
ato laukikaprasiddhibādhena yājñikaprasidhyaiva nirṇītārthakatve vaktavye arthavādasya śaktigrahe 'nupayogādvaiśadyaprāptyarthameva tadupāsanam //
kiñca asmin mate ūṣmapakva odane iva piṣṭasādhye 'pi tasmin caruśabdārthatvāṅgīkārāt dvayorapyarthayoḥ sthālīvacanatvābādhena yājñikaprasidhyā grahaṇāpattinivāraṇaphalakaudanarūpacarutātparyatvakalpanayāpyupapadyata evatadavirodhaḥ //

kiñca caruśabdasya sthālīvacanatvabādhenānavastrāvitaudanaviśeṣavācitvamarthavādapratīteḥ prāk nirṇītaṃ vā navā; ādye tenaivār'thavādagatasāmānyaśabdārthanirṇāyakatvāt arthavādena caruśabdanirṇaya ityetatparatā tadadhikaraṇe durupapādaiva /
dvitīye niścitena viśeṣaṇa sāmānyākāṅkṣānivṛttāvapi aniścitena tena tadayogāt viśeṣasamarpakatvenāvirodhopapādanaṃ yājñikaprasiddherayuktam; vācakatātātparyagrāhitvaṃ vinā kevalaṃ yājñikaprasiddhimātratvena niyāmakatvānupapatteḥ /
ato yathaiva mlecchaprasiddhiḥ āryaprasidhdyā bādhyate, evaṃ sādhāraṇāryaprasiddhirapi nyāyataulyāt karmānuṣṭhānavattvena viśvastatarāryaprasidhdyā bādhyate /
evaṃ sādhāraṇārthaprasiddherapītyevaṃ sthālīvācitvanirākaraṇenānavastrāvitāntarūṣmapakvamātravācitva evopakrame nirṇīte tadanusāreṇopasaṃhāragataudanapade sādṛśyalakṣaṇāyā ucitatvāt vaiśadyayuktataṇḍulaprakṛtikatvamevārthavādasya nyāyyam, natu etāvatāpi vaiśadyayuktataṇḍulaprakṛtikatvāṃśe śaktigrāhakatvam; tathātve maudgayavamayādicaruṣu carucabdānāmanantānāṃ gauṇatvāpatteḥ, vrīhiprakṛtikataṇḍuleṣveva lokaśāstraprasidhdyā taṇḍulatvāṅgīkārāt /
ataeva vārtikakṛtānavastrāvitāntarūṣmapakvamātrameva tacchabdapravṛttinimittamuktam /
etena -------- sūpaśākādivyāvṛttaye taṇḍulaprakṛtikatvaviśeṣaṇopādānaṃ sarvagranthalikhitamapi -------- parāstam; ativyāptiparihāre 'pi maudgādiṣvavyāptyāpatteḥ, loke phalatvena prasiddheṣu taṇḍulaprakṛtikeṣu vartulatvena dṛḍheṣvativyāptyāpatteśca /
ataḥ sūpaśākādivyatiriktatvopalakṣaṇatvāṅgīkāreṇa tadvyāvṛtteḥ vaktavyatayā tadupalakṣaṇasūcakatvamastu nāmārthavādasyeti yuktam /
nyāyasudhāgranthe 'pyanavastrāvitāntarūṣmapadadvayasārthakyapradarśanāvasare taṇḍulaprakṛtikapadānupādānātsūpaśākādivyatiriktatvopalakṣaṇārthatvasyaivārthavāda upapāditatvena maduktārthatātparyakatvapratīteḥ /
tasmānnārthavādasya śaktigrāhakatvamityeva nyāyasudhoktaṃ sādhu /
parantu ubhayamate 'pi prāyaṇīye anyatra sārasvatādicarupiṣṭakacaruvyāvṛttiḥ durghaṭaiva /
ataḥ sarvagranthāvirodhenaivaṃ parihartavyam /
piṣṭakacarau caruśabdo gauṇa eva na mukhyaḥ /
ataeva śrautasmārtakarmaṇoścarukartavyatāyāṃ piṣṭasyaiva tatkaraṇaṃ viśiṣṭānāmiti gauṇamukhyanyāyādeva sarvatra tasyāgrahaṇam /
pauṣṇe carau peṣaṇaṃ vinaiva pradeyasiddheḥ pratiprasavarūpeṇa peṣaṇavidhānādeva gauṇārthasya grahaṇāt piṣṭakacaruḥ saṃpadyata iti sarvaṃ samañjasamityalaṃ śrameṇa /
yasmātpiṣṭakacarāvapi caruśabdaprayogaḥ ata eva vaiśadyānapekṣaṃ carutvapravṛttinimittamidamityāha --------- ata eva carutvaṃ nāmeti //

yadi tu navamādyanyāyena pūṣasvarūpe ānarthakyādapūrvasādhanatvalakṣaṇāyā āvaśyakatvamāśaṅkyeta, tadāstu pūrvoktavidhayā pūṣaprapiṣṭasaṃbandhajñānajanyayāgānumitereva tātparyagrāhikāyāḥ sattvāt sāpi pūṣapade /
paraṃ tvarthavādādyanurodhāt pūṣādhiṣṭhānakadevatātvaprayojyāpūrvīyatvalakṣaṇāyā evāṅgīkārād dvidevatye 'pi peṣaṇadharmaḥ saṃbhavati /
yathācaivaṃ sati pākasaṃpattistathā yatitavyaṃ antarāyakaraṇena vā krāmikanikṣepeṇa vā pātrabhedena veti prāpte ---------
ānarthakyaparihārāyāpūrvasādhanatvalakṣaṇāyā āvaśyakatvādadhiṣṭhānadvārakatvakalpanasya ca pūṣṇo devatātvopasthitimantareṇānupapatteḥ tadupasthitau ca taddvārakatvamātrakalpanayaivānarthakyaparihārād dvidevatye ca caturdhākaraṇādhikaraṇanyāyena kevalasya pūṣṇo devatātvābhāvādyatra kevala eva pūṣā tatraiva peṣaṇam /
na ca --- apūrvasādhanībhūtadevatātvasyaiva prakāratayā pūṣapadena lakṣaṇe 'pi tasya pūṣopari bhāne svarūpasaṃbandhasyaiva saṃsargavidhayā vivakṣaṇena paryāpteravivakṣaṇāttasya ca dvidevatye 'pyekasmin pūṣṇi sattvena tasyāpyuddeśyerūpatvopapatteḥ kathaṃ na peṣaṇādīti -------- vācyam; vyāsajyavṛttidharmaparyāptaprakāratāyāṃ ekamātravṛttisaṃbandhasya saṃsargatvānupapatteḥ /
anyathā eko dvitvasamavāyavānitivadeko dvitvavāneko dvau ityādiśābdabodhāpatteḥ /
ato vyāsajyavṛttidevatātvasya paryāptisaṃbandhenaiva prakārakatvāt tasya ca pūṣṇi kevale bādhāt pūṣamātravṛttidevatātvasyaiva prakāratvena tatraiva peṣaṇādi /
adantakatvaṃ tvarthavādamātratvānna virudhyate /
nemapiṣṭatvasyāpi ca tatraiva vidheyatvāṅgīkārādviśiṣṭabhāvanāvidhānena cāvākyabhedādagamakatvam // 3 // 49 //

bhāgaśca bhajyate sevyate iti vyutpattyā sevyam /
devatāyāśca bhoktṛtvābhāvena tadasaṃbhavāllakṣaṇayā svatpaparatve miśroddeśenāpi tyakte samaṃ syāditi nyāyena lokavadardhe pūṣasvāmyasaṃbhave tasyāpi yatheṣṭaviniyojyatvarūpasya bhoktṛtvavadevāsaṃbhavāt jīvatpitṛkasyeva pitṛdhane anyaṃ prati yatheṣṭaviniyojyatvapratibandhākhyaṃ svāmyam "devasvaṃ brāhmaṇasvaṃ ca lobhenopahinasti yaḥ /
" itismṛtyuktaṃ bhāgaśabdoktaṃ dvāramityapūrvaprayuktatve 'pi dvidevatye peṣaṇamiti pūrvapakṣopapattirityuktam, tadidaṃ navame devatāvigrahanirāse sati bhoktṛtvayatheṣṭaviniyojyatvayorabhāvasyevānyaṃ prati viniyogapratibandhasyāpyabhāvenāyuktamityevaṃ nirākṛtya prakāśakṛtānyathopapāditam /
apūrvaprayuktatve 'pi yadyapi bahuvrīhiṇā pradhānabhūtaḥ pūṣaiva dvāraṃ śābdam; tathāpi sākṣātpūṣṇaḥ peṣaṇānarhatvādānarthakyādeva viparītaviśeṣaṇaviśeṣyatvena bhāgaśabdena yāgasādhanaṃ lakṣitaṃ havireva dvāram, na devatā; taddvāratve 'pi havirdvārasyāvaśyakatvāt /
pūṣā tu havirupalakṣaṇam; tatrāgneyendrapītādivatpūṣṇo nairapekṣyabodhakataddhitasamāsābhāvānnānyayogavyāvṛttyā viśeṣaṇatvam, kintvayogavyāvṛttimātreṇeti tadidaṃ dvidevatye 'pyastyeveti //
tadetannirāsāyāha -------- sāpi pūṣapade iti //
yena vākyena yaduddeśyasaṃbandhena yasya vidhānaṃ tasya śabdaśaktyupasthitataduddeśyasaṃbandhe ānarthakyaprasaktau tadvācakapade evāpūrvasādhanatvalakṣaṇayā tena rūpeṇoddeśye vidheye vihite tadevāpūrvaṃ prati dvāramiti "vrīhīnahanti;" ityādisaṃskāravākyeṣu kḷptaṃ nyāyyaṃ ca; prakaraṇādevāvaghātādīnāmapūrvasaṃbandhāvagame sati avaghātādivākyagatavrīhyādipadadvāraviśeṣasyaiva samarpaṇāt /
tadiha pūṣasaṃbandhenaiva bhāgaśabdena yāgalakṣaṇāttenopasthāpitamapyapūrvaṃ na sākṣāduddeśyam; tadvācakapadābhāvāt /
tathāca bhāgaśabdena yāgasādhanahaviṣo dvāratvam /
tadabhāve tasyaivoddeśyatvaṃ śābdaṃ bhavet /
naca tatsaṃbhavati, ekaprasaratābhaṅgāpatteḥ, pūṣṇo 'yogavyāvṛttimātreṇāpi viśeṣaṇatve viśiṣṭoddeśāpattereva hetorādyādhikaraṇe paramparāsaṃbandhena pūṣadevatoddeśenaiva vidhānasya bālaprakāśe bhavadbhiranyaiśca sthāpitatvena tadupajīvanenaivāgnimavicārakaraṇādatra haviṣa uddeśyatvānupapatteḥ /
evañcoddeśyasamarpake pūṣapade evāpūrvasādhanatvalakṣaṇayā devatādvāreṇaivāpūrvārthatvenānarthakyaparihāra iti na pūrvapakṣasiddhiḥ /
yadapi devatāvigrahanirāsānnānyaṃ prati yatheṣṭaviniyojyatvapratibandhasyāpyabhāvena tathābhūtasvatvaviśiṣṭasya pūṣṇo dvāratvamiti nyāyasudhākṛddūṣaṇam, tadapi śabdadevatātvavādināpi devatāvigrahānaṅgīkāre 'pi devasvādivyavahāratadaṅgīkārajanakasambandhaviśeṣasyāṅgīkāryatvāt ya eva tadupapādakaḥ saṃbandhaviśeṣaḥ kalpanīyaḥ tadviśiṣṭasyaiva pūṣṇo dvāratvamityevaṃ tadāśayādupekṣyam /
ataevānyaṃ prati yatheṣṭaviniyojyatvapratibandhākhyasvāmyasyāpūrvaṃ pratyupayogābhāvāt na dvāratvaṃ saṃbhavatīti nyāyasudhākṛduktereva pūṣapadeevāpūrvasādhanatvalakṣaṇāmaṅgīkṛtyaivānyathā pūrvapakṣaṃ sādhayati -------- paraṃ tviti ------- //
spaṣṭamanyat //
atra ca prayojanaṃ pūrvapakṣe dvidevatye 'pi peṣaṇadharmasyeti pūrvapakṣopapādanavelāyāmeva bhāṣakhyānusāreṇoktam /
siddhānte tu prāpakapramāṇābhāvānnaiva taditi spaṣṭameva /
tatra vārtikakṛtā pūrvapakṣe kāṃsyabhojinyāyenāmukhyānugrahasyāpyuktatvāt iha tu indrasamakakṣatayopāttapūṣānurodhātsutarāṃ sarvasyāpi peṣaṇaṃ śakyata eva kartumityapi prayojanāntaraṃ sūcitamityapi yatpūjyapādairuktam, tasyāyamevāśayaḥ ------ yat pūṣānurodhena sarvasyāpi peṣaṇe kṛte caruśabdasya piṣṭakacarāvapi prayogeṇendradevatādravyāvirodhopapatteḥ kāṃsyabhojinyāyena sarvasya peṣaṇam /
yadi ca caruśabdo 'navastrāvitaudane eva rūḍhaḥ syāt, tadāpi pūṣānurodhena peṣaṇakaraṇe indrasyaudanarūpasvadravyanāśāpatteḥ tatra kasyānugraha iti saṃdehe mukhyatvenāsaṃjātavirodhitvenādhvarakalpāyāṃ mukhyabhūtāgnāvaiṣṇavadharmānugrahasyeva, indradharmodanānugrahakartavyatāpattyā na sarvapeṣaṇaṃ prāpnoti, ataḥ piṣṭakacarugrahaṇe evāvirodhāt? kāṃsyabhojinyāyopapādane pūrvapakṣa iva siddhānte 'pi sarvapeṣaṇaṃ saṃbhavatyeveti na kaścana pūrvottarapakṣayoḥ prayojanabhedaḥ sidhyeti /
atastaṇḍulacarugrahaṇapakṣe virodhaprasaktāvapyardhapeṣaṇena tatparihārasaṃbhavānna tadanurodhenendradevatādravyavighātaḥ kartavya ityardhameva peṣaṇaṃ pūrvapakṣe prayojanaṃ bhinnaṃ sidhyati /
yatra hyamukhyasya sarvathā bādhastatra mukhyasyaivānugrahaḥ //
adhvarakalpāgatājyadravyagatamadhyatanasarasvatīyāgīyahavirabhimarśanasy.a sakṛddhavirabhimarśanasyaiva śāstrārthatvena vṛdhanvatīmantreṇāpi siddheḥ tadbādhābhāvāt iha tu mukhyendrānugrahe sarvathā pūṣāṅgapeṣaṇasya bādhaprasaṅgādardhapeṣaṇaṃ yuktamityeva prayojanaṃ kāṃsyabhojinyāyopapādanenāśrayaṇīyamiti tadevātra prayojanaṃ vaktumiti //
iti pañcadaśaṃ pauṣṇapeṣaṇasyaikadaivatyatvādhikaraṇam //

iti śrīmatpūrvottaramīmāṃsāpārāvārīṇadhurīṇa kavimaṇḍana-khaṇḍadevaśiṣya-śaṃbhubhaṭṭaviracitāyāṃ bhāṭṭadīpikāvyākhyāyāṃ prabhāvalyāṃ tṛtīyādhyāyasya tṛtīyaḥ pādaḥ //
