sūtre śeṣapade bhāvapradhānatvasya anantādhyāhārādyarthaparatvābhāvasyaca sūcanena śeṣatvamaṅgatvaṃ lakṣyate yenādhyāyena taṃ vakṣyāma iti sūtrārthamabhipretyāha --------- śeṣatveti //
sautrātaḥśabdasiddhāṃ pūrvottarādhyāyārthanirūpaṇayoḥ hetuhetumadbhāvasaṃgatiṃ darśayati -------- bhinnānāmiti /

dadhyādidravyāṇāṃ tathā karmaṇāṃ lokasiddhabhedavatāṃ dvitīye 'nirūpitabhedānāṃ mithaḥ aṅgāṅgibhāva ityarthaḥ /
karmaṇāmeva mitho 'ṅgāṅgibhāvanirūpaṇasya dvitīyādhyāyasiddhabhedanirūpaṇādhīnatvāt sāmānādhikaraṇyena saṅgatyupapattyā pariharati tathāpīti //
dravyādyaṅgatvanirūpaṇasya asmin pakṣe asaṅgatyāpattiṃ parihartuṃ pakṣāntaramāha ------- aṃśa eveti //
śeṣatvamātranirūpaṇasya adhyāyārthatvenetyādiḥ //
pramāṇanirūpaṇasya kariṣyamāṇasyādhyāyasaṅgatiṃ pariharannāha -------- taccāneketi //
tataśca śeṣatvalakṣaṇapratijñayaiva tatsaṃbandhivicārajātasya kariṣyamāṇasya sarvasya pratijñāyā apyadhyāyārthatvānna tasyāsaṅgatirityarthaḥ //
tatra bhāṣye kaḥ śeṣaḥ kena hetunā śeṣaḥ kathaṃ ca viniyujyate ityādīni ca viniyoge kāraṇānīha vakṣyante /
teṣāṃ ca balāvadabalavattā /
etattātparyeṇānyadapyupodghātādinetyanekaprakāratā darśitā /
tatra ḥśeṣaḥ parārthatvādḥiti uttarasūtre pañcamyantena hetūpādānadvārā lakṣaṇasyoktasya śābdatvapratītestenaiva arthātsiddhasya svarūpasyārthikatvamabhipretya svarūpakathanaparasyāpi bhāṣyasyārthikābhiprāyakatāṃ sūcayan lakṣaṇaparatayā vyākhyānaṃ darśayati ---------- aṅgatvalakṣaṇamiti //
yena pravṛttinimittena hetunā śeṣapadaṃ prayājādiṣu prayujyate, taccheṣapadaśakyatāvacchedakamevetyabhipretya dvitīyapratijñāparabhāṣyārthamāha ------- śeṣapadeti //
avaghātādikaṃ śrutyādibhirviniyujyamānaṃ śrutarūpāvacchinnoddeśyatābādhena sarveṣu viniyujyate uta tadabhāvenetyarthakatṛtīyapratijñāparabhāṣyasya tātparyārthaṃ darśayati --------- aṅgāṅgitayoriti //

yadeva hi aṅgatvalakṣaṇaṃ tadeva śeṣapadaśakyatāvacchedakaṃ nānyat /
tatrāṅgatvaṃ nāma pārārthyam /
tacca yaduddeśapravṛttakṛtikārakatvena vihitaṃ yattatvaṃ tadaṅgatvam /
svargoddeśapravṛttapuruṣakṛtau yāgānukūlāyāṃ kārakatvena vidhyanvayācca yāge lakṣaṇasamanvayaḥ /
pradhānoddeśapravṛttapuruṣakṛtau prayājādyanukūlāyāṃ prayājādeḥ kārakatvena vidhyanvayācca prayājādāvapi saḥ /
dravyaguṇakālakartṛdeśādau ca yāgādyuddeśyayāgānukūlakṛtau karaṇatvakartṛtvādhikaraṇatvādikārakatvena vidheyatvādyāgāṅgatvāvighātaḥ /
ṣaṣṭhīsthale ca saṃbandhasāmānyābhidhāne 'pi kārakatva eva paryavasānānnāvyāptiḥ /

paśvaṅgabhūtānāmapi prayājagodohanādīnāṃ puroḍāśapraṇayanādyupakārakatvena tadaṅgatvāpatterayuktamupakārakatvarūpaṃ tallakṣaṇam tathā āgneyādīnāṃ mitho 'vinābhāvena parasparamaṅgatvāpatteravinābhāvalakṣaṇamapyayuktam, kintu pārārthyamevetyarthaḥ

nanu kimidaṃ parārthatvaṃ nāma? tadyadi paroddeśapravṛttakṛti samavāyitvaṃ tadācetane yāgādāvavyāptiḥ, yaditūktakṛtisādhyatvaṃ tadā deśakālakartrādāvavyāptiḥ /
etena ------ paroddeśapravṛttakṛtivyāpyatvāparaparyāyamaṅgatvaṃ pārārthyamiti nyāyaprakāśoktaṃ -------- apāstam /

kārakatvena vidhyanvayāditi /

saptamādye svargoddeśena prayājādīnāṃ vidhānāśaṅkānirākaraṇapūrvakaṃ pariplavatvaṃ nirākariṣyate, tadanusaṃdhāya lakṣaṇānvayaṃ darśayati -------- pradhānoddeśeti

dravyasya kriyānivartakatvena guṇasya dravyaparicchedakatvena kārakatayā vidhānāt karaṇatvenānvayāt tatrāpi tadanvayaṃ darśayati --------- dravyeti //

atideśena prayājādīnāṃ paśuyāgoddeśapravṛttakṛtikārakatvena vihitatve 'pi paśupuroḍāśe upakāramātrākṣepeṇa padārthāṃśe 'tideśākalpanena taduddeśapravṛttakṛtikārakatvena vidhānābhāvānnātivyāptiḥ /
evaṃ godohanasya praṇayanopakārakasyāpi taduddeśyakakṛtikārakatvābhāvānnātivyāptiḥ

atraca kṛtikārakatvamityetāvanmātroktau phalasyāpi karmatāsaṃbandhena kṛtikārakatvāt phalāṅgatvāpattiḥ /
ataḥ paroddeśapravṛttetyarthakaṃ yaduddeśapravṛtteti kṛtiviśeṣaṇam /
phalasyaca phalaṃ prati paratvābhāvāt phaloddeśapravṛttapuruṣakṛtau karmatayā phalasya vidhyanvayena bhoktraṅgatve 'pi na phalāṅgatvaprasaktiḥ, etadevābhipretya uddeśyatāpadenaivetyādyuktam /
apūrvasyāpi phaloddeśapravṛttakṛtau karaṇatvenānvayāt phalāṅgatvopapattirityādi kaustubhe draṣṭavyo vistara ityarthaḥ

yadyapyavaghātādīnāmaṅgatve vrīhyādīnāṃ lokasiddhānāmevopādānānna taduddeśapravṛttakṛtirasti; tathāpi apūrvasādhanatvākāreṇa taduddeśyakṛtisaṃbhavānna kṣatiḥ //
bhāvanādipratītiḥ kṛteḥ kṛtyantarābhāvāt yāgasya bhāvanāṃ prati tasyāśca phalaṃ prati śabdabhāvanāyāśca arthabhāvanāṃ prati paśvādeśca kārakaṃ prati kārakatvasyaca kriyāṃ pratyaṅgatvavyavahāro bhākta ityarthaḥ //
yattu prakāśakāraiḥ ------ bhāvanāyāḥ phalāṅgatvādivyavahārasya mukhyatvasiddhau iṣṭoddeśyapravartanāprayojyatvaṃ svasveṣṭaṃ pratyaṅgatvam, prayojyatvañca kāryatatkāryasādhāraṇam /

yatratu piṇḍataṇḍulādau pradeye na śrapaṇaprāptistatra puroḍāśādipadavācyapakvapiṇḍādighaṭakapākaprayojakasya tasyābhāve peṣaṇavat lopaucityena anovāsovallaukikasyaiva piṣṭataṇḍulādeḥ upādānāttaṇḍuleṣviva na piṣṭe 'pi prayogamadhye taṇḍulopādānam na vā vrīhiprakṛtitvaniyama iti na taddharmaprāptiḥ /
ataeva "vrīhibhiryajete"ti vākye svapradeyaprakṛtibhūtataṇḍulavyāpāradvāraiva apūrvasādhanībhūtayāgoddeśenaiva saṃskāravidhaya ityarthaḥ /
itopyadhikaṃ kaustubhe draṣṭavyam //
nanu tattadvyāpārakasādhanatānāṃ āgneyatvavrīhitvāvacchinnānāṃ niveśe sauryādau tattaddharmāvacchinnasādhanatānāmabhāve kathaṃ tadbhinnadharmāvacchinnasādhanatāśrayeṣu dharmaprāptirityata āha ------- tadvyāpāraketi //
yāvatā vinā nānarthakyaparihārastāvanmātrasyāgatyā praveśe /
apīha sādhanatāmātrapraveśena tatparihāropapattau na tadavacchedakānāṃ vrīhitvādīnāṃ praveśaḥ; gauravāt /
nacātiprasaṅgaḥ; vāraṇasyāpi tāvataiva saṃbhavāt /
evañca naivāre carau yaveṣuca dharmaprāptiravikaletyarthaḥ //
nanu vrīhiyavayoḥ śabdāntarāt guṇādvā kāraṇatābhedāt vrīhigatataṇḍulaniṣpattivyāpārakasādhanatāśrayatvābhāve kathaṃ yaveṣu dharmaprāptiḥ? ataeva etādṛśasādhanatāśrayatvābhāve 'pi vikṛtau nīvārakaraṇatāyāḥ prākṛtakāryāpattyā tadavacchinneṣu nīvāreṣu atideśena dharmalābhe 'pi prakṛtau tadabhāve na kathamapi tatprāptirityata āha --------- yathāceti //
yathaiva sādhanatāmātravivakṣayā'narthakyaparihāre sati na sādhanatāvacchedake vivakṣā; gauravāt, evaṃ sādhanatāsāmānyavivakṣayāpi tatparihāropapattestulyatvena śakyasaṃbandhavidhayā praviṣṭasyāpi na sādhanatāviśeṣasya vivakṣayā lakṣyatāvacchedake uddeśyatāvacchedake vā praveśo gauravāditi sādhanatāsāmānyāśrayatvavivakṣayā yuktā yaveṣu dharmaprāptirnājyādiṣviti kaustubhe vistara ityarthaḥ //

lakṣaṇāpakṣe bahuvrīheraruṇaśabdasya caikāntaritadravyalakṣakatvāṃśāviśeṣe hi kiṃ vinigamakam yadbahuvrīhereva dravyābhidhāyitā nāruṇapadasyeti, ato 'nyapadārthe śaktiḥ /

kṛttaddhitādisthale ekenaiva itarasyākṣepasiddheranekaśaktikalpanāparihārāya pradhānenaiva guṇabhūtasya loke ākṣepadarśanāt liṅgasaṅkhyānvayayogyadravyasyaiva sattvapadavācyatvena prādhānyena tatraiva śaktirna viśeṣaṇībhūtasaṃbandhe tasyākṣepādeva bhānasiddheḥ //
ataeva tṛtīyāntejāterdvitīyāntādisthaleca vyakteśca prādhānyadarśanāt niyāmakābhāve ākṛtyadhikaraṇanyāyapravṛttyā jātereva vācyatvaṃ vyakterākṣepalabhyatvameva /

naca bahuvrīheranyapadārthaśaktatvābhāve aruṇāpadādaviśeṣāpattyā sūtre dravyaguṇayoriti nirdeśānupapattiḥ; asmanmate nirūḍhalakṣaṇātadabhāvābhyāmeva viśeṣasiddheḥ /
evañca padadvaye lakṣaṇāṅgīkārādeva tatpuruṣāpekṣayā sutarāṃ karmadhārayāpekṣayā daurbalyaṃ siddhaṃ bhavati /
ataevaindrapītādhikaraṇe pūrvapakṣaprasādhanāya bahuvrīhāvanyapadārthalakṣaṇāpattiḥ siddhānte darśitā, siddhāntepica śaktyā parihāramanabhidhāya hutāhutasamudāyavācinaḥ indrapītaśabdasya tadavayave lakṣaṇāpattimātrameva pūrvapakṣadūṣaṇatvena darśitamiti //
naiyāyikādibahusaṃmataṃ pakṣāntaramāha -------- anyapadārtha iti
yattu prakāśakāraiḥ -------- bahuvrīhāvanyapadārthalakṣaṇāyāṃ paṃṅkajādipadeṣvapi tadāpattau yogarūḍhyucchedaprasaṅgāt tadvadihāpi śaktirevetyuktaṃ taddūṣaṇaṃ kaustubhe draṣṭavyam //

ataeva yatra dvitīyāntādisthale tadasaṃbhavastatparameva matuppratyayānuśāsanavat bahuvrīhyanuśāsanamiti nadravye śaktirlakṣaṇā vā svīkāryā /
sautraṃ dravyapadañca pramāṇāntarapramitadravyapārṣṭhikasaṃbandhapratipādanatayāpyupapatt imadityabhipretya svasaṃmataṃ pakṣāntaramāha -------- śakyatetviti /
pramāṇāntarapramiteti //
gavā te krīṇātītimantraliṅgāvagatagorūpadravyamādāyetyarthaḥ //
asmiṃśca pakṣe amūrtatvāviśeṣāt sarveṣāmeva vicāraviṣayiteti bhāvaḥ

evaṃ prakṛtavicāropayuktaṃ prasādhya śābdabodhatvāvacchinnaṃ prati yogyatājñānasya hetutvāt amūrtasyāruṇyasya krayabhāvanānvayāyogyatvāt tatrāniveśena vākyīyānvayaṃ bādhitvā "vihitastu sarvadharmaḥ syāt saṃyogato viśeṣāt prakaraṇāviśeṣā" diti teṣāmarthādhikaraṇapūrvapakṣasūtratvena āśritya prākaraṇikasarvadravyārthatvapūrvapakṣaṃ sādhayituṃ yogyatayā vākyīyadravyānvayasaṃbhavaṃ nirasyati -------- tadiheti //
yatra agnihotrahavaṇyeti vākye lyuḍuktakaraṇībhūtasya dravyasya svavākyopāttanirvāpaṃ prati yogyatā tatra tasyā nirvāpāṅgatvasaṃbhave 'pi iha kārakatvena dravye amūrtatvena krayabhāvanāyāṃ vā anvayāsaṃbhavāt na tadaṅgatvam, apitu śrutivākyayoraudāsīnye satyadhikārākhyaprakaraṇena jyotiṣṭomopasthitau yogyatayā tadīyadravyaparicchedakatvena vidhivākyaṃ dravyavācakapadañca prakalpya tadvidhānāt sarvayogyakārakatvamiti na kevalaṃ prākaraṇikakaraṇakārakāṅgatvamātram, kintu tatsādhāraṇyena kartrādikārakāṅgatvamityarthaḥ

yadyapi kevalaguṇavācitvapakṣe bhinnapravṛttinimittānāṃ śabdānāmekasminnarthe pravṛttyasaṃbhavāt naikahāyanīpadasāmānādhikaraṇyaṃ saṃbhavati; tathāpi mukhyasyāsaṃbhave 'pi dravyaparicchedadvārā guṇasya karaṇatvenānvaye tasya guṇiniṣṭhatvāvagamāt guṇaguṇinorabhedopacāreṇa tatsaṃbhavādubhayorekakriyānvaye parasparākāṅkṣayā tatkrayasādhanaikahāyanīrūpadravyaparicchedakatvaṃ nānupapannam /
ataeva pārṣṭhikānvayasamarthanānantaram "evañca vākyagatamapi sāmānādhikaraṇyaṃ samarthitaṃ bhavatī" tyuktaṃ vārtike /
ataeva ṭābantatayā dravyapadasāmānādhikaraṇyamapi viśeṣaṇatayā, natvaṅgatayā /
tattu viśeṣaṇavidhikalpanayā krayaṃ pratyevetyevamekavākyatvasaṃbhave na vākyabhedamaṅgīkṛtya adhyāhārādinā prākaraṇikasarvadravyāṅgatvakalpanaṃ yuktam /
nacaitāvatā dravyopakāritayā dravyāṅgatvam; dravyasyāpi paricchedyatayā guṇopakārakatvena vaiparītyasyāpyāpatteḥ /

ataśca vivakṣitamekatvamiti ------- cet, guṇabhūtaikavacanādyanurodhena pratyaye karaṇatvalakṣaṇāṅgīkārasya yugapad vṛttidvayavirodhavairūpyādeścānyāyyatvāt /
tadvaramanuvādake tasminneva pāśādhikaraṇanyāyena lakṣaṇāmātram /
na cepsitānīpsitasādhāraṇakarmatvamātrābhidhānānnoktadoṣaprasaṅgaḥ /
tathātve niruktaikakarmakatvabhaṅgaprasaṅgena vākyabhedāpatteḥ /
ataśca guṇatvasiddhyarthaṃ lakṣaṇāśrayaṇe pūrvoktadoṣāpatterekavacanaṃ bahutvalakṣaṇārthaṃ satsādhutvārthamanuvādo 'vivakṣitam /

saṃmārgaviniyogaḥ siddho 'pi kimekatvādiviśiṣṭe uta grahamātre veti viśeṣato viniyogaprakāro vaktavyaḥ /
tatra yadyapi apūrvasādhanatvenaiva rūpeṇa viniyogastathāpi tallakṣaṇopayogiśakyasaṃbandhaghaṭakatāmātramevoddeśyatāvacchedakatadanavacchedakatādvāreṇa cintyata ityarthaḥ //
vede vaktrabhāvāt vacanecchānicchārūpatayā pramāṇībhūtavedapramitasya tyāgāyogāt cikīrṣācikīrṣārūpatayā vā vivakṣāvivakṣayorasaṃbhavāt pratītyapratītirūpatayā tadabhyupagame śrutasyaikatvādeḥ pratītatvena tyāgāyogādasaṃbhavaṃ nirasituṃ vivakṣāvivakṣāsaṃbhavahetumanvayavyatirekābhyāṃ sūcayituṃ ca vidhyanvayāsaṃbhavādityuktam /
tataścānuṣṭhānānanuṣṭhānarūpaphalahetukavidhitsitāvidhitsitāparaparyāyau vidhisaṃsparśāsaṃsparśāveveha vivakṣitāvivakṣitapadābhyāṃ vivakṣitau kṛtvā vicāra ityarthaḥ //
tatra grahaprātipadikasya grahatvamartho vacanasya ekatvaṃ dvitīyāyāḥ karmatvaṃ ca /
tatra karmatve jāteḥ sākṣādanvayāyogāt pūrvoktarītyā vyaktilakṣaṇāyā āvaśyakatvena tasyāḥ karmatvenoddeśyatve 'pi svatvasamākhyāsahakṛtapadaśrutyaikatvasya grahavyaktāvanvayādekatvaviśiṣṭasyaiva grahādeḥ karmatve anvayādyathā grahatvānavacchinne na saṃmārgastathaikatvānavacchinne 'pi na saḥ /
yadyapi samānābhidhānaśrutyā ekatvasya karmatvānvayasaṃbhavaḥ; tathāpi tatrāyogyatvādananvaye prātipadikārtha eva yukto 'nvayaḥ //
naca kārakaviśeṣaṇasya vidhyanvayāsaṃbhavaḥ /
evaṃ yatrāpi yasyobhayamityādau saṅkhyāvācakapadāntaraśravaṇam, tatrāpi kriyānvayātpūrvaṃ sāmānādhikaraṇyādupapadārtha evānvayāt viśiṣṭasyoddeśyatvopapattirityabhipretya pūrvapakṣamāha -------- paśvaikatvavaditi //
vidhyanvayābhāvāt naikatvaṃ vivakṣitaṃ vidhyanvayo hi kimuddeśyatvena athavā guṇatvena /
tatrāpyādye viśiṣṭoddeśenotasvatantroddeśena vā /
natāvadādyaḥ; kriyānvayāt pūrvaṃ vaiśiṣṭyasyāvyutpannatvādityabhipretya siddhāntamāha ------ yatra hīti /
naiva vyutpanna iti //

prātipadikena svavācyabodhajananottaraṃ lakṣaṇayā sāhityapratīteryugapat bodhānupapatteḥ paścātpratīyamānasya samastaprātipadikārthatvāt pradhānānvayasyābhyarhitatvācca śakyārthavatkāraka eva anvayavyutpatteḥ prātipadikārthe vaiśiṣṭyāyogena viśiṣṭoddeśāsaṃbhava iti kaustubhe spaṣṭamityarthaḥ //

vidheyānekatve 'pi vidhiphalasyājñātajñāpanasyaikaviṣayatvasvabhāvabhaṅgāpatteryukto vidhivākyabhedaḥ, uddeśyānekatvetu śrutabhāvanāyāṃ teṣāmanvayāt vidheścaikaviśiṣṭabhāvanāvidhāyitvenānekavidhāyitvābhāvāt ārthikaiśca vidhibhirekakriyoddeśena anekaviśeṣaṇavidhivat anekoddeśenaikasaṃmārgaviṣayānekavidhikalpanasaṃbhavāt vākyabhedāprasakteḥ na kācitkṣatirityarthaḥ //

tataśca noddeśyatāvacchedakāvacchinnatvarūpeṇa viniyogasya saṃskāryatāprayojakatvaṃ apitu tatsamānādhikaraṇadharmāvacchedādināpītyarthaḥ //
vaśīkārābhāvāditi //
kriyāyāṃ hi guṇatvenānvaye tadīyākāṅkṣayā saṃbandhādyathāpekṣamanyonyaniyamaḥ sidhyati /
prakṛtetu kriyāyā evoddeśyaṃ prati guṇatvāduddeśyayośca svataḥ pradhānatvena parasparākāṅkṣabhāvāt kriyāyāśca tadanurodhavṛttitvāt kathaṃ parasparaṃ yo grahatvāvacchinnaḥ sa ekatvāvacchinnaḥ paśutvāvacchinnaḥ ekatvāvacchinnaḥ ityevaṃ niyamaḥ sidhyatītyarthaḥ /

'ghaṭaṃ paṭaṃ ca karotī' tyādau cakāraṃ vinā ghaṭapaṭayorubhayoḥ karmatvena karotyarthe 'nvayādarśanāt karoterekakarmatvaniyamena tatparyāyabhāvanāyā api tanniyamāt karmadvaye sati bhāvanāpratipādakapratyayāvṛttervākyabheda ityarthaḥ //
nanu kimidamekakarmatvam? na tāvadekakarmakatvamekakarmatvāśrayatvaṃ vā; "sarvebhyo darśapūrṇamāsau" "ghaṭānānaye" tyādau tadanāpatteḥ; tatra putrādivṛttikarmatvānāṃ karmatvāśrayaputrādīnāṃ ca bhedāt, nāpyekakarmatāvacchedakatvam; "sarvebhya" ityatraiva paśutvaputratvādīnāṃ bhedenaikakarmatvānāpatterityata āha -------- ekakarmatvaṃ ceti //
ekabodhaviṣayeti dharmaviśeṣaṇam /

ekenaiva sarvapadena tena tena rūpeṇa tattacchaktibhiḥ sarveṣāṃ phalānāṃ yugapadbodhādityarthaḥ //
paryāptapadakṛtyaṃ tviti //
"adhvaryuyajamānau vācaṃ yacchata" ityatra adhvaryuyajamānatvayoḥ karmatvādhikaraṇatāvacchedakayorekabodhaviṣayatvābhāvāt dvikarmatvaprāptāvapi dvandvottaravibhaktyā devatātvāderiva karmatvāderapi vyāsajyavṛttitvāvasāyāt tatparyāptyadhikaraṇatāvacchedakasyādhvaryuyajamānobhayatvasya dvandvajanyaikabodhaviṣayatvāt ekakarmatvopapattyarthaṃ paryāptipadam //
nacaivaṃ samāsopāttasāhityavivakṣāpatteḥ daivādanyatarapadārthabādhe anyatarasya vā niyamānāpattiḥ; sāhityaviśiṣṭayoruddeśyatve 'pyapūrvasādhanatvalakṣaṇāyāṃ pratyekavṛttyapūrvasādhanatvasyaiva lakṣaṇīyatvena tadanāpatteḥ /
nahi tayoḥ sahitayorekakāryajanakatvamasti /
ataḥ pratyekavṛttitayā avagatenaiva rūpeṇa lakṣaṇānna doṣa iti kaustubhe draṣyavyamityarthaḥ //

nimittayorbhedenānuṣṭhāpakatayā bhedena bhāvyākṣepakatvāt tadākṣiptabhāvyārūpānekakarmatvaprasaṅgasya tulyatvamityarthaḥ //
nanu nimittadvayasthale sahitayoreva nimittatvāṅgīkāreṇa na phaladvayākṣepakatvamityata āha -------- yathāceti //
sāhityasyāpi pakṣakoṭipraviṣṭatvena pūrvavadeva nimittaviśeṣaṇatvānupapattāvarthāt svātantryeṇa nimittatvāpattau bhedenānekakarmākṣepakatvāt tatprasakteryasyobhayamityādau ubhayātterhavirārteśca pṛthaknimittatvāśrayaṇe syādeva vākyabheda iti kaustubhe spaṣṭamityarthaḥ /
ataeva na yatra phaladvayākṣepakatvaprasaṅgastatra bhāvyasyaikatvānnimittasyaca nimittatvenaivānvayānna vākyabhedaḥ /
yatrāpya "māvāsyāyāmaparāhṇa" ityādau kāladvayasyoddeśyatve 'pi karmanānātvānākṣepakatvam tatrāpi na vākyabheda ityāha ------------ ataeveti //
yathāca phalādītyayaṃ grantho vyākhyātacaraḥ //
tṛtīyaṃ pakṣamāśaṅkate --------- nanviti /
svargasyeveti //
mantreṇahi prakaraṇe pāṭhāddarśapūrṇamāsāpūrvaṃ pratyupakartavyam kenaciddvāreṇeti niścite yadeva darśapūrṇamāsāpūrve upayujyate tadeva dvāraṃ bhavati /
nahi phalaṃ tadapūrve tajjanakakarmaṇi vopayuktam /
atastadabhāve 'pi yathā darśapūrṇamāsasaṃbandhastadvadekatvasya saṃmārgabhāvanāyāṃ karaṇatvenānvayenāṅgabhūtasyāpi grahasya saṃmārgasaṃbandhitāmātreṇa dvāratvopapatteḥ tatsaṃbandhigrahaparicchedakatvena tatsvīkārādekatvena grahaṃ saṃmṛjyādityanvayopapattirityarthaḥ //
tathātva iti //
dvitīyayā tantreṇābhidhāne 'pi karmatvaparyāptyadhikaraṇatāvacchedakasya dharmasyaikatvagrahatvāderekabodhaviṣayatvābhāvenaikakarmatvabhaṅgāpattyā vākyabhedāpatterityarthaḥ /
anuvāda iti //
jātyabhiprāyeṇa pratyekaikatvamādāya vā prāptatvena śakyārtho 'nuvādaḥ /
paśvaikatvādestu karaṇatve 'nvitasya taddvārā kriyāsaṃbandhena vidhyanvaye vākyabhedādidoṣānāpatteḥ yuktā vivakṣeti vaiṣamyamityarthaḥ //
nanu "aṣṭavarṣaṃ brāhmaṇamupanayīta" ityatra saṃskāryaviśeṣaṇasya aṣṭavarṣatvāderavivakṣāpattau aniyatavarṣasyāpyupanayanāpattiriti śaṅkānirāsāyāha --------- yathācaivamiti //
yadyapyaṣṭavarṣatvamuddeśyaviśeṣaṇam; tathāpi tasyopayogāpekṣāyāṃ so 'dhīyītetyevaṃ vipariṇatena "tamadhyāpayīte" tividhinā viniyogakalpane tacchbdena parāmṛṣṭasyopādeyatvena tadvivakṣopapattiḥ /
yadyapi prathamataḥ saṃskārānvaye tadavivakṣāyāṃ paścāttanaviniyogavidhāvapi tacchabdenāvivakṣitaviśeṣaṇasyaiva parāmarśāpattiḥ; tathāpi prāthamikasaṃskārānvaye 'pyaṣṭavarṣatvasya grahaikatvavat kathamapi prāptyabhāvenānuvādāyogādardhamantarvedītivat lakṣaṇayā viśiṣṭoddeśasaṃbhavena vivakṣopapattiḥ /
yatrahi grahamityādau dvayorapi prāptisaṃbhavaḥ /
ekavacanasyaiva bahutvādilakṣaṇāyāṃ pāśanyāyādirūpaṃ niyāmakamasti, tatra nobhayatra lakṣaṇayā viśiṣṭoddeśaḥ, prakṛtetu dvayorapyaprāptatvāttadaṅgīkāre na kācitkṣatiriti kaustubhe upapāditamityarthaḥ /
eva "magneḥ tṛṇānyapacinotī" tyatra yadyapyagneḥ ṣaṣṭhyā tṛṇadvārāpacaye guṇabhāvaḥ pratīyate; tathāpi saṃbandhasāmānyasya viśeṣato jijñāsāyāṃ viśeṣaṇāntarāyogenāṅgāṅgitvalakṣaṇānvayaviśeṣaniṣṭhatvāvasāyāt ko 'trāṅgītyapekṣāyāṃ cāgneḥ prayojanavattvenāṅgitvāvasāyāt upayokṣyamāṇasaṃskārasya garīyastvāttasyāpi tṛṇasaṃsparśanimittotpatsyamānolmukabahiḥ pātaparihārārthatayā dṛṣṭārthatālābhāt svasvāmibhāvaviṣayāyāśca ṣaṣṭhyāḥ svāminiprayogadarśanena prādhānyārthatvāvasāyāt agneḥ prādhānyāvagateruddeśyatvāt tadviśeṣaṇaikatvāvivakṣopapattiḥ tataścāgnisaṃskāratvāt yasyāgneragre me upayogaḥ tasyaivāyaṃ tṛṇavibhāgarūpāpacayaḥ saṃskāravidhiriti na sabhyāvasathyayoḥ tṛṇāpacayaḥ, paristaraṇaṃ tu "agnīnparistṛṇātī" tyaviśeṣaśravaṇāttayorbhavatyeva /
astuvā tayorapi saḥ /
yadyapīyaṃ pañcamī bhavet; tathāpi "madhyāt pūrvārdhāccāvadyatī" tivadagneḥ prayojanavattvāllakṣaṇayā prādhānyapareti na doṣa iti vārtikakāraḥ /
asmiṃśca pakṣe 'pacayasya dṛṣṭārthatālābhāya citaistṛṇaireva punaḥ punaḥ paristaraṇamuktamāpastambasūtre //
pūjyapādaistu dvitīyayā tṛṇānāṃ prādhānyāvagatau viniyogabhaṅge pramāṇābhāvāt tṛṇapratipattitvameva /
anyathā tṛṇagatabahutvavivakṣāpatteḥ kapiñjalādhikaraṇanyāyena trayāṇāmeva tṛṇānāmapacayāpatteravaśiṣṭatṛṇasaṃsarganimittotpatsyamānolmukabah iḥ pātasyāparihāryatayāgnestṛṇāpacaya- saṃskāryatvānupapatteḥ /
ato bahutvāvivakṣāyāstṛṇasaṃskāryatvaṃ vinā durupapādatvātparistaraṇopayuktatṛṇapratipattikarmatvamevāpacayasya yuktam /
naca tavāpyekasyaivāgnestṛṇāpacayāpattiḥ /
pañcamyāpādanatvena guṇatve 'pi pratipādyatṛṇānurodhena pratyekaikatvānuvādāvagatervivakṣāprasaṅgāt /
atastṛṇapratipattitvamevetyuktaṃ kaustubhe //
yattu -------- asminpakṣe pūrvaprayogārthāgniparistaraṇopayuktānāmapi tṛṇānāṃ prayogāntarakālīnāpacayena pratipādanāt pratipattitvāyoga iti --------- nyāyasudhākṛtoktam, tadu "pasthāya tṛṇānyapacinotī"ti āpastambasūtre agnyupasthāpanasamāpanakartṛtvānurodhenayajamānakartṛkopasthāpanottarakālīnatvokterayuktatvāda- yuktamityupekṣitaṃ pūjyapādaiḥ /

rasādhārabhūtasyāpi ṣoḍaśipātrasya grahairjuhotītyanena yāgāntargataprakṣepāṅgatvena vājapeyaṃ prati sākṣādaṅgatvāt taddvārā niveśastatretyarthaḥ /
anyagrahapātrāṇāṃ sādhāraṇatvādasādhāraṇyena vājapeyasaṃbandhitvena tatraiva niveśaṃ sūcayituṃ tadīyetyuktam /

tataśca "viśvarūpo vai tvāṣṭraiti prapāṭhake saptamāṣṭamānuvākayoḥ sāmidhenībrāhmaṇamāmnātam, navame deva iddho manviddha ṛṣiṣṭuto viprānumaditaḥ kaviśasto brahmaśaṃsitaḥ" ityādinivinmantrāṇām, daśame kāmyānāṃ sāmidhenīkalpānām, ekādaśe upavītatadantarālaguṇavidhīnāṃ ca brāhmaṇamāmnātamityavāntaraprakaraṇatadvicchedasaṃśayādvicāra ityarthaḥ /
sautrasaṃdigdhapadavyākhyārthamavaśyamupanyasanīyamapyavāntaraprakaraṇasadbhāvavicchedasaṃśayaṃ tathā kartṛsaṃskārasāmānyādbuddhisthasyopavītasya bhāṣyakāramate sannihitānvayāpavādāya vārtikamate avāntaraprakaraṇāpavādādāpavādikīmanantarasaṅgatiṃ ca spaṣṭatvādanullikhya ataeva śrautaviniyogopayogivicārābhāvena pādasaṃgatyabhāve 'pyakṣatiṃ cābhisaṃdhāya pūrvapakṣamāha ------- tatropavītamiti //
atropavītaṃ nāma brahmasūtraṃ navatantukaṃ yajñopavītāparaparyāyaṃ grāhyam, athavā vāsovinyāso veti saṃdehe nirṇayastṛtīye kariṣyate /

darśapūrṇamāsāṅgapraṇayanāśrayatvena prakaraṇānuvṛtteḥ sattvena prakaraṇāvicchedakatvavat ihāpi avicchedakatvopapattirityarthaḥ //
nivinmantraiḥ vicchedaṃ prakārāntareṇāpi pariharati --------- vastutastviti //
sāmidhenīvannividāmapyagnisaṃmindhanaprakāśanārthatve 'pi sāmidhenīnāmagnisamindhanārthe kāṣṭhaprakṣepaprakāśanārthatvāt nividāmiddha iti bhūtāniṣṭhayedhmaprakṣepaphalāgnisamindhananiṣpattiprakāśanārthatvādaganma iti mantrasya darśapūrṇamāsaphalaniṣpattiprakāśanārthasya darśapūrṇamāsāṅgatvavat sāmidhenīprakāśyedhmaprakṣepaphalaniṣpattiprakāśanādanupajīvyāṅgatvābhāvena vicchedakatvānupapattirityarthaḥ //
darśapūrṇamāsādiphalasya adṛṣṭadvārasādhyatvena śraddhāpekṣatvāt śraddhājananāt phalaniṣpattiprakāśanasyāṅgatvasaṃbhave 'pīha idhmaprakṣepaphalasyāgneḥ samiddhatvasya dṛṣṭadvārā sādhyatvena śraddhānapekṣatvāt phalaniṣpattiprakāśanasya aṅgatvāyogena nivitprakāśyaphalasādhanedhmaprakṣepaprakāśanārthatvena sāmidhenīnāmeva tadaṅgatvasya nivārayitumaśakyatvāt vinigamanāviraheṇa ca tairvicchada iti vastutastu ityādyuktaprakārāntaradūṣaṇaṃ spaṣṭatvādupekṣya pūṣānumantraṇamantravadavicchedakatvamuktaṃ pariharan siddhāntamāha ------ nividbhiriti /

nanu -------- indriyakāmādhikaraṇanyāyena ekaviṃśatyādiguṇānāṃ phalānvayāvaśyaṃbhāvena tatraca vākyena āśrayasamarpaṇe vākyabhedāpatteḥ prakaraṇenaivāśrayasamarpaṇaṃ kartavyamiti kāmyakalpaiḥ prakaraṇasyojjīvanāt sāmidhenyaṅgatvaṃ durvāram, prakaraṇojjīvanābhāveca kathaṃ guṇaphalasaṃbandhasiddhirityabhipretyāśaṅkate -------- nacaivamiti //
ataeva āśrayālābhānna guṇaphalasaṃbandhaḥ, kintu aniviśamānaikaviṃśatyādiguṇāt bhinnasyānuvacanasyaiva vidhiriti na tadanurodhena prakaraṇojjīvanamiti pariharati -------- tatreti /

praiṣānantaraṃ namaḥ pravaktra iti nigadapāṭhāttadanantaraṃ sāmidhenīnāṃ pāṭhānnigadānantaryamanorarthamaṅgīkṛtya tasyāpi paraprayuktāgnisamindhanārthasya bahiḥ kratvaprāpteranuvacanatvabādhāpattyā na bahiḥ prayoga iti pārthasārathiḥ /
evañcānyataraniṣkarṣaṃ vināpi sarvathā bahiḥkratvananuṣṭhānaphalasiddhestamakṛtvaiva matabhedaṃ sūcayituṃ sāmāgyataḥ pūrvapadārthānantaryasyoktatvādityuktam //
vastutastu ------- praiṣānantaryasya praiṣārthe sāmarthyādeva prāpteranuvacanavidhivaiyarthyāpatteḥ bhinnakartṛkayoḥ kriyayoḥ kramānapekṣaṇenānapekṣitavidhitvāpatteścāpekṣitavidhitvalābhāya praiṣānantaryeṇa bādhitaṃ hautranigadānantaryameva pratiprasavavidhayā vidhātuṃ yuktam /
nigadānāṃ ca sāmidhenīvat svātantryeṇāgnisamindhanārthatvena sāmidhenyaṅgatvena prāpterabhāvāttadanurodhenāntaḥ prayoga iti jñeyam //
nanu -------- yadyapi namaḥ pravaktra ityādinigadānantaryamanuvacanasya; tathāpi tasya "pañcajanā mama hautraṃ juṣadhvaṃ tadadya vācaḥ prathamaṃ maśīye" tyādivākyaparyālocanayā kariṣyamāṇasarvakarmārthatvena sāmidhenīmātrārthatvenavā pravaktrādiprārthanāparatvāvasāyāt sāmidhenyaṅgatvasyāpi sattvena bahiḥkratu prayojyatvopapatteḥ tadānantaryaṃ saṃbhavatyeva /
yadāpi praiṣārthānantaryaṃ tadāpi svaphalārthamanujñājñāpanarūpasyāṅgasya vikṛtāvūhena prayogopapatteḥ bahiḥ prayogepyākṣepeṇa tadānantaryasaṃbhavāt bahiḥkratu prayogo durnivāra iti -------- cet, na; anuśabdenottarakālavācinā sāṅgasāmidhenībhāvanāyāṃ tadanaṅgabhūtapūrvapadārthāntarakālatvasya vihitatvātpūrvapadārthasyaca paraprayuktasyākṣeptuṃ aśakyatvena taduttarakālatvāsaṃbhavāt, ato na bahiḥkratu prayogāpattiriti kaustubhe draṣṭavyam //
yattu vārtike --------- pṛthakprayoge satyekaviṃśatisaṅkhyāparicchedyatvena atideśaprāptānāmapi "pravo vāje" tyādyṛcāmagnisamindhanāprakāśakatvena sāmidhenītvābhāvāpatteḥ aprayogamadhyasthasya cāgnerniṣphalatvenāsamindhanīyatvena ṛcāmagnisamindhanaprakāśakatvānupapatteḥ sāmidhenīnāmekaviṃśatyādisaṅkhyāparicchedyatā atideśaprāptā vihanyetetyuktam, tatsāmidhenīnāmanuvacanāntare janakatvamātrārthatvenānuṣaṅgikāgnisamindhanasya prayojanakalpanāt paraprayuktāgnisamindhanābhāve 'pi pratiṣṭhāphalakānuvacanasya prayojakasya sattvena tatprāptyupapatteḥ kādācitkāgnisamindhanārthatvenāpi sāmidhenītvāvighātānna bahiḥkratu prayogabādhakamityupekṣitaṃ pūjyapādaiḥ /
evamantaḥkratvanuṣṭhānasya sādhitasya phalamāha -------- vaikṛteti //
ataḥ kāmyaphaleṣvāvaśyākāśrayalābhāya na sāmidhenīprakaraṇojjīvanāpekṣetyupasaṃharati -------- atasteṣvapīti /
tatkartṛsaṃskārakatayeti //
anena ca sāmidhenyaṅgatvapakṣe tadāraṃbha eva kartrā avaiyagṣāpādakatayā upavītaṃ pūrvapakṣe kāryam /
siddhāntetu darśapūrṇamāsaprayogāraṃbha iti prayojanaṃ darśitam //

vārtikakārastu na tāvadanārabhyavākyena pavamānahaviṣāmagnyaṅgatvam; tena sarvahomānuvādenāhavanīyavidhānāt, pavamāneṣṭīnāmeva viśiṣyopasthityabhāve saptamyā prādhānyalakṣaṇāyāṃ pramāṇābhāvāt /
nāpi pavamāneṣṭiprakaraṇe vākyāntarakalpanā; tadabhāve 'pi vāraṇādīnāṃ sarvayajñārthatvopapatteḥ /

astu vā ādhānaprakaraṇe tattathāpi tenādhānāṅgabhūtahomānāmāhavanīyādhikaraṇatvasiddhireva natvagnyaṅgatvasiddhiḥ; saptamyā lākṣaṇikatvāpatteḥ /
ata eva tatratyamāhavanīyapadaṃ ādhānajanyotpattyapūrvaviśiṣṭāgnilakṣakameva; paramāpūrvaviśiṣṭāgnirūpamukhyāhavanīyasya tadānīmasattvāt /
nacaivaṃ pavamāneṣṭihaviḥ śravaṇādau gārhapatyādiprāpakābhāvaḥ; tatra mukhyagārhapatyādibādhe pramāṇābhāvāt /
ataśca satyapi vacanāntare pavamāneṣṭīnāmagnyaṅgatve pramāṇābhāvādādhānāṅgatve 'pi vāraṇādīnāṃ sarvayajñārthataivamupapādanīyā //
sarvatra svoddeśyasyāpūrvavyabhicāre 'pūrvasādhanatvalakṣaṇārthaṃ prakaraṇānupraveśo yathā vrīhīnityādau /
ataeva tādṛśasthale ānarthakyatadaṅganyāyaḥ, prakṛte tu yajñapadenaivāvyabhicāritāpūrvasādhanatvopasthitau tadarthaṃ prakaraṇānupraveśābhāvātpradhānasaṃbandhasyaivāprasaktau kva tadaṅgāvatāraḥ /
evaṃ satyapi yadi pavamāneṣṭisaṃnidhau pātrāṇi śrūyeran, tadānuvādasya sati saṃbhave saṃnihitagāmitvādvrīhibhiryajetetyādivadbhavetprakṛtamātraviṣayatvam /

atraca yena yajñe anuṣṭhīyate sa vāraṇa ityabhedapratīteryajñoddeśena tatsādhanapātraparicchedadvārā vāraṇatvavaikaṅkatatvajātyorvidhānena yatra juhvādau jātyantaravidhānaṃ tatrāniveśe 'pi ulūkhalamusalādiṣu tadvidhyavirodhaḥ, tatrāpi natvetena juhuyāditi vākyaśeṣabhūtaparyudāsavaśādyajñāṅgaprakṣepākhyahomavyatiriktasādhanapātradvārā vāraṇasya tathā juhuyādevaitenetyadhikaraṇamālālikhitavākyaśeṣabalāt yajñāṅgaprakṣepahomasādhanapātradvārā vaikaṅkatasya niveśa iti kaustubhe pūjyapādāḥ /
nyāyasudhāyāṃ tu vaikaṅkatasya sarvapātrakāryārthatvamuktamiti viśeṣaḥ pradeśāntara ityasya kṛtyaṃ svayameva vyaktīkariṣyati /
tatra vājapeyāṅgatvenāvagatasya saptadaśāratnitvasya tatrāsaṃbhavāt tadaṅgapaśuyāgāvatāre abhihite tenaiva nyāyena abhikramaṇopavyānayoḥ karmāṅgabhūtakartravatāre siddhe tatraiva karmaviśeṣāṅgakartṛsaṃskāradvāraviśeṣavicārāt pūrvaparyavasitasya ānarthakyatadaṅganyāyasya pavamāneṣṭīnāṃ vārtikakāramate ādhānāṅgatve 'pi yajñatvābhāvānnādhānaprakaraṇapaṭhitānāṃ pātrāṇāṃ tāsvavatāra ityāpavādikīṃ bhāṣyakāramatetu prāsaṅgikīmanantarasaṅgatiṃ ca tathā gauṇaśrutiviniyogopayogivicāreṇa pādasaṅgatiṃ tathā saṃśayañca spaṣṭatvādapradarśya pūrvapakṣamevāha --------- tatreti //
yajñasvarūpe ānarthakyaprasaktāvapūrvasādhanatvalakṣaṇārthaṃ prakaraṇānupraveśe prasakte prakṛtāpūrvasādhanasyādhānasya yajñātvābhāvādādhāne niveśāsaṃbhavāttasminnapyānarthakyaprasaktau tadaṅgabhūtānāṃ pavamāneṣṭīnāmaṅgatvāt tā eva prakṛtāpūrvopakārakatvasaṃbandhena yajñapadena uddiśya vāraṇādividhānam /
yadyapi pavamāneṣṭīnāṃ pradeśāntare paṭhitatvānna viśiṣyādhikāro 'styupasthāpakastathāpi pradhānādhikāreṇaiva pradhānāṃśe bādhitena tatsaṃbandhipavamāneṣṭyupasthāpanānnānarthakyatadaṅganyāyena tadarthatāyāṃ virodha ityarthaḥ //
yadāhavanīye juhotīti anārabhyādhītavākyena āhavanīyasyādhikaraṇatvena vidhānātsaptamyā dvitīyārthalakṣaṇāyāṃ pramāṇābhāvāt kathañcitprādhānyakalpanayā pavamānahaviṣāṃ tadaṅgatvakalpane viśvajidādikratvantarāṇāmapi tadaṅgatvāpattau niṣphalatvāpatteryadyapi na tena agnyaṅgatvaṃ tāsāṃ sidhyati; tathāpi ādhānaprakaraṇe bhāṣyakāralekhanādvākyāntarasattāmanumāya tadīyasiddhāntamupapādayati --------- ādhānaprakaraṇa iti //
tenaca kalpitavākyena nādhikaraṇatayā homāṅgatvenāhavanīyavidhiḥ; āhavanīyasyādyāpyasiddhatvāt, atastatrāgāre gāvo 'pāsyantāmityatreva saptamyā prādhānyaparatvamaṅgīkṛtya pūrṇāhutyādihomasādhāraṇyenāgnyaṅgatvapratītervākyena prakaraṇabādhādatra ādhānāṅgatvamityādhānasamapradhānatayā nānarthakyatadaṅganyāyapravṛttirityarthaḥ /
etena -------- śrautādhānāvaruddhe agnau aṅgatvena pavamānahaviṣāṃ kathaṃ tadaṅgatayā niveśa iti -------- apāstam; ānarthakyapratihatanyāyena asyāpi tatprāpakatvopapatteḥ /
sarvaprakṛtīti //
ekādaśe "pañcabhiḥ yunakti pāṅkto yajña" iti yajñapadaśravaṇāda "gniṃ yunajmi śavasā ghṛtene"ti yunaktītyetadvākyavihitasyāgniyogasya pradhānapātrārthatvaṃ bhāṣyakāreṇa siddhāntayiṣyate, tadanurudhya nyāyasudhākṛtehāpi yajñapadasya pradhānayāgamātravācitvasya prasādhanāttadabhiprāyeṇa pradhānabhūtasarvaprakṛtiyajñāṅgatvamuktvā yajñapadasya yajatiparyāyasyātiriktaśaktikalpane pramāṇābhāvāt sarvasyaiveti vākye "eṣa vai saptadaśaprajāpatiryajñe 'nvāyatte" tivākye ca yajñapadasyeva yajñapadasaṃkocasyāyuktatvādaṅgapradhānasādhāraṇayajñamātrārthatvameva yuktamiti kaustubhoktarītyā sarvayajñāṅgatvaṃ veti pakṣāntaramuktaṃ draṣṭavyam //
tadabhāve 'pīti //
vāraṇādīnāṃ pavamānahaviraṅgatvanivāraṇamātrārthatvena tatkalpanamayuktam; tatkalpanāmantareṇāpi tannivāraṇena vakṣyamāṇavidhayā anyayajñārthatvāpatteḥ ityarthaḥ /
siddhireveti //
nahyanyathā āhavanīyasiddhāvanārabhyādhītavākyenāhavanīyādhikaraṇatvaṃ prāpyata iti sūcanāyaivakāraḥ /
yadyapi pavamāneṣṭyaṅgabhūtānāṃ prākṛtānāṃ homānāmatideśaprāptamukhyāhavanīyādhikaraṇakatvabādhe 'pi sati saṃbhave prakṛtidṛṣṭasyādhānaviśeṣaprayojyatvaviśiṣṭāgnyadhikaraṇakatvasya bādhe pramāṇābhāvāduktavidhāhavanīyādhikaraṇakatvaprāptiḥ saṃbhavati /
evameva pavamāneṣṭyaṅgabhūtānāṃ haviḥśrapaṇapiṣṭalepaphalīkaraṇahomādīnāmuktavidhagārhapatyānvāhāryapacanādhikaraṇatvaprāptirupapādanīyeti tadanurodhenāhavanīyādhikaraṇatvavidhānāvaśyakatvābhāvasūcanārthamādhānāṅgabhūtānāmevetyuktam /
eteṣāṃ cāprākṛtatvāduktavidhayā tadadhikaraṇatvāprāptestatprāptyarthamidameva śaraṇīkaraṇīyamiti bhāvaḥ //

tādṛśoddeśyatāvacchedakarūpākrāntatvasya sarvatrāviśeṣāt prathame pakṣe aṅgapradhānasādhāraṇahavirmātre dvitīye agnisaṃbandhimātrājyasādhāraṇyena caturdhākaraṇasiddhirityabhipretya pūrvapakṣamupapādayati -------- apitviti /

agnisaṃbandhasya havirnirūpitadevatātvādhiṣṭhānakatvarūpasyaivāśrayaṇāt tasya cāgnīṣomīyaindrāgnādiṣvapi sattvamityarthaḥ //
dravyaparatvavivakṣāyāṃ pracuraprayogādanuśāsanācca devatātvaviśiṣṭadravya eva śaktikalpanāt saṃbandhasāmānyārthakatve lakṣaṇāpattestatparihārāyāgnidevatākahaviṣṭvasyoddeśyatāvacchedakatvāṅgīkāre 'pi prakārāntareṇa pūrvapakṣasiddhimāha ------- astuveti /
pratyekamabhisaṃbandhāditi //
yathaiva 'ghaṭapaṭāvānaye' tyatra karmatvaṃ dvandvānte vibhakteḥ śrūyamāṇatvāt pratyekaṃ bhavati /
evaṃ taddhitasyāpyante śravaṇāt tadarthadeyatātvasyāpi tyajyamānadevatoddeśakarmatvarūpasya vyāsaktatvāsaṃbhavācca pratyekameva devatātvāṅgīkārāt dvidevatye'pi tatsadbhāvāt caturdhākaraṇaṃ prāpyetaivetyarthaḥ

tena dampatyoḥ kartṛtvasyeva devatātvasyāpyakhaṇḍopādhirūpasya vyāsaktatvāvirodha ityarthaḥ /
ghaṭapaṭāvityatra tu tayoruddeśyatvena tatsāhityasyāvivakṣitatvāt tatra pratyekameva karmatvaṃ yuktamiti vaiṣamyopapādanāyāha ---------- ata eveti /

yena haviḥparatvaṃ prathamata evāvabudhyetetyarthaḥ /
ato devatātaddhitasya sūktahavirvācyatvaniyamakaraṇādupajīvyasya prathamāvagatasya devatātvasyaivāpūrvasādhanatvalakṣakatvopapattyā prātītikoddeśyatāvacchedakatvamityāha -------- ata iti

nanu evamapi vakṣyamāṇaśātapathaśrutimūlena "ubhau vā aviśeṣādi"ti kātyāyanavacanena agnīṣomīye 'pi tatprāpteḥ kathaṃ tasya āgneyamātraviṣayatāsiddhirityato niyāmakamāha ---------- tenaceti //
"taṃ caturdhākṛtvā puroḍāśaṃ barhiṣadaṃ karotī"ti śatapathagataṃ vākyaṃ tacchabdena puroḍāśaparāmarśena puroḍāśamātrasya caturdhākaraṇavidhāyakamevārthato dhṛtam /
etādṛśopasaṃhārānaṅgīkāre śākhāntarīyatve 'pi pratyakṣavākyavihitasya puroḍāśamātracaturdhākaraṇasya sarvathā bādhāyogāt vikalpāpattiḥ, āgneyapadasyaiva puroḍāśasāmānyalakṣaṇayā tena sahopasaṃhārakalpane śakyatāvacchedakānavacchinnapadārthalakṣaṇāpattiśca, ataḥ puroḍāśapadasyaiva śakyatāvacchedakāvacchinnāgneyamātraparatvalakṣaṇayā upasaṃhāraḥ //
ataevoktam ------- "sāmānyavidhiraspaṣṭaḥ saṃhriyeta viśeṣataḥ" //

ataśca sāmānyaśāstrasya prathamapravṛttikatvābhāvāt phalataḥ parisaṅkhyāvāntarabhedastanmātre saṃkocarūpopasaṃhāraḥ sāmānyavākyasyeti śruterapyāgneyamātraviṣayatvāt kātyāyanavacanaṃ hetūpanyāsādapramāṇamityarthaḥ //
naca ------- śātapathavākye caturdhākaraṇottarakālatvaviśiṣṭabarhiṣatkaraṇabhāvanāyā bhakṣāṅgatvena vidhānāt kramaviśeṣaṇatayānūdyamānasya caturdhākaraṇasya vidhyabhāve kathaṃ tasya tadviṣaye sāmānyavidhitvaṃ iti ------- vācyam; śākhāntarīyatvena tacchākhīyānpratītyabhyudayaśiraskatvaphalakalpanayā viśiṣṭavidhyaṅgīkāreṇa tasyāpi vidhānopapatteḥ /
etena ------ parasparopasaṃhāre sāmānyavidhisārthakyasaṃbhave 'pi anyataropasaṃhāre sāmānyavidhivaiyarthyamapi ------- parihṛtam; abhyudayaśiraskatvaphalakatayā sārthakyāt /
evamevaikaśākhīyavākyadvayopasaṃhāre 'pi draṣṭavyam /
etena -------- anuṣṭhānaviśeṣāpekṣitatvarūpāspaṣṭatvasya puroḍāśavākye 'saṃbhave 'pi iha barhiṣatkaraṇasya vidhānena caturdhākaraṇāṃśe 'nuvādatvapratītestasyaca yathāprāptyapekṣatvāt tasyāśca āgneyavākyena viśeṣaviṣayatvāt sāmānyavākyasya viśeṣaparyavasāyitvenopasaṃhāratvopapādanaṃ somanāthakṛtaṃ -------- apāstam; //
viśeṣataḥ prāptatve 'pi sarvapuroḍāśapratipattitvena vidhitvasaṃbhave anuvādatvāyogāt tena viśeṣaparyavasāyitvānupapatteḥ /
ato yadaivānena vidhānamārabhyate, tadaiva sarvasādhāraṇapratibandhaphalamupasaṃhāratvaṃ vaktavyam /
tatracānirdhāritaviśeṣatayā viśeṣānvayayogyatvarūpāspaṣṭatvasya sāmānyavākye tadabhāvarūpaspaṣṭatvasyaca viśeṣavākye saṃbhavo 'styevetyabhipretyaivoddeśyatāvacchedakānavacchinne lakṣaṇāpattyā sāmānyavākyasya na viśeṣopasaṃhārakatvamityuktaṃ pūjyapādairiti bhāvaḥ //
siddhāntamupasaṃharati --------- tasmāditi //
